In this destiny video we will be looking at all of my tips to rank up fast and reach higher light levels in the rise of iron dlc and eventually hit light level 400 which is the max. This guide will be going through the best activities and farming methods to get light quickly by activity and the levels their rewards will drop at, and also my best tips on how to maximise what you get from engrams, faction packages and materials. been playing destiny since the release but been going back and forth to the game, defiinatly feeling the grind now at 380 but makes the game alot more worthwhile !

So, I'm curently at 368. Should I just prioritize on getting faction packages, saving up skeleton keys and exotic engrams, then go through Siva Crisis Heroic Strikes until I get to around 390, then decrypt all of my exotics?

hey im a 371 light. I just did the rise of iron raid and i got an exotic leg armor engram. When should I open it? My friends said to do it after i get the outbreak prime and im 385. should i do that?

And is there an Agent of Nine yet I stop playing this game a month after I bought it and I just jump back in on season 3 so I'm kind of lost I don't know where to go or if there's anything new but I haven't bought any DLCs so is there anything new without DLCs

yeah, I'm at 393, almost 394. crucible helps too, I pop a rep booster and play for two hours and usually get 2 items in that time with higher light gear. I can never get anyone together for a nightfall. I solo'ed this week's up until the bosses, than just gave up after an hour of trying.
I once went 20 three of coins without a drop from the Gate Lord. I just switched to farming the end boss at Venus Scourge of Winter and got 8 engrams out of 50 coins last night, including my first Hard Light.

I'm at 390.. I guess nightfall is my main way to grind. Will The forge drop 400 artifacts and ghist shells if I'm at 390? I keep only getting 391 drops.

If you put on ur highest light and play Crucible the end match drops give you higher light gear. I suck at crucible and prefer PVE much better but I went from 388 to 390. I know it's not a huge step up, but it takes a while.
Im 381 should I open exotic or wait?
Hey guys I can't really get a team together for raids and trials and I'm 370 are there any tips for me to get to a higher level even possibly 400
386 woo. longest pain for me so far was that 369 gap. Nothing wanted to drop higher for me for awhile till I did the raid once.

Has this changed? I got some blues @ 371 today...I have like 400 three of coins. Every time I've popped an exotic engram it's always been less light than the current gear. Out of 10-12 exotics so far I've yet to get one better. Anyone else having this happen?
Unknown you probably think I'm crazy but for some reason when I had the trial of destiny in my first year I got the wardens mask go to the outfitter and look were the mask is now
I found out at 395+ light all my exotic engrams decrypted at the same level. More rarely 1 higher light. At 395+ it was the heroic raid that got me to 400.

I'm just gonna focus on doing the raid on HM, already did it 3 times this week and my 3 guys are 392. Out of the raid I will only do strikes to waste all my skeleton keys.
Don't forget archons forge drops a lot of engrams so it's extremely good to level up your cryptarch and get to 385. Also the shiro bounties get you almost an entire rank of vanguard a week with a class item I think.
Love the videos, but exotics are not working to gain light above 390. I was 392 and three straight exotics dropped at 391. This means its a lot harder to get to 400. Very frustrated with Bungie

Um problem I have a ride of iron warlock bond although I never purchased rise of iron also I’m 334 light
Is there another certain way to always get matchmade into archons because the slowly walking thing doesn't seem to work for me, it works maybe a 1/4 of the time

I hit 400 Friday. My strat was grind to 395, THEN pop exotic engrams. I would've been 400 probably Wednesday or Thursday because I hit 399 on Tuesday and I run 3 titans which makes it easier. I ran the raid 3 times on Tuesday (plus I cheated and used 2 sparks of light and re-ran the raid twice), but I literally couldn't get an exotic chest engram to pop over 399 light. Literally took me hours of grinding and 5 exotic chest engrams to finally decrypt a 400 chest, but I finally made it.

You can get up to 385 by just running strikes. Then when u reach 385 open them up
Marcus Moody I reckon grind the heroic strikes till 375 then open legendary engrams, but it might be better just to open your engrams now rather then later.
Marcus Moody Or just grind to 385 through heroic strikes. And grind arcons forge for artifacts\ghosts

Yeah start using the crap out of them now....the engrams you shouldnt be touching what so ever until 385+ are exotics. Trust me and the guy who made this video, you will want to save them until then.

That especially doesnt matter for you bro.....390+ gear is locked behind week long waits anyhow like trials, hard mode wrath of the machine, nightfall, and xur for exotic farming using the 3 of coins you buy from him. Aside from exotic farming with 3 of coins you cant get 390+ gear from any of the ones I listed from more than one completion a week.

nightfall drops gear up too 385 i ran it three times after the update and my light is 392 and was dropping gear that was 385 and the rewards were shit too 385

My highest light level is 392 that's my warlock the hunter I am working on is 349 light then my Titan level 33 light level 192-200ish

How I got 400 in 11 hours into the update.
Saved 130 exotic engrams, saved 15 Skelton keys, had edged factions, and then opened a few engrams did some forge. Did strikes and targeted chest to open for items needing upgrades. Cryptard has a chance to give a exotic from his engrams as well.

the drop rate is higher from my experience
Not confirmed by Bungie, but the community can tell the pve drop rates have been reduced ever since rise of iron

It would be nice if the players that end a crucible match in the top 3 get a slight higher chance to get better gear than the other. it pissed me off when ever the players who do the least amount of work and slow down the team get all the better loot.
398 haven't found any issues with light levels it's pretty easy to get to 400
I used 169 strange coin and bought like 600 heavy synth with it so I could level up my faction to get higher level gear. Leveled up like 6 times and the highest gear I got was 371 -_-
I'm 395 on 2 characters and have still played other games, got the dlc two weeks late and didn't save engrams
