- Hey guardians, you may be working on getting raid ready, or just trying to raise your light to tackle a nightfall. No matter what there are a few things you should know before you waste an exotic engram at the wrong time or use a skeleton key a bit too early. Hopefully this helps you all.

Thanks much, Ebontis! Another way I learned to get the blue drops to level is The Will of Crota Strike, Level 320. A bit tricky, but it works if your team brings Omnigul down quickly, before she retreats up the hill and back into the end room. A Nightstalker is crucial for tethering Omnigul when she appears. Gjally very helpful. Kill her, get blue drops (equip if higher light level), let adds kill you to perpetuate the strike, rinse and repeat.
Yeah i have heard of that, not everyone wants to farm but that way works as well.

Replying from a phone sucks so that's why I made another comment box. Ebontis you are right that it is another topic for another time. But even though it might be dropping goodies like crazy I feel that for a solo player the loot drop percentage is right where it needs to be. The focus can be given to one character and all leftovers can be hand me downs to your other characters for quick light level upgrades and the leftovers from that you can dismantle for marks. Either way great vid! Keep up the good work guardian. Too bad I can't get the outbreak prime solo, that would be awesome.
Well I understand what you are saying but I think i'll have to post up my video of what I am talking about and get people's thoughts. Kinda curious if i am alone or if others will agree.
Once you hit 365 think in terms of infusion. Save your Skeleton Keys for the strikes that have a good chance of giving you an item for infusion of your lowest light slot. If your helm is the lowest, run the Malok strike. He only drops a helm. You can use it to infuse your helm. If you need an artifact run the cabal strike (land tank or something). He can only drop a rifle so his second drop has a good chance of being an artifact. Don't worry about the drop being for your class. The infusion becomes more important once you hit the absolute crawl from 365 up.
There are lists of strike drops. Read it and save your keys for the right strike to infuse your lowest slot.

Yep Iron Banner is helping even though i seem to be an odd invisibile wall at 381 at the moment as even faction stuff is dropping at 381 even though i am 381. Hopefully i can get past it soon.

I'm a new Destiny player through buying the collection. How to you infuse? Also would it be better to just use the higher light gear? Why would you combine the gears versus swapping out? Thanks!
Infusion is just an icon on any legendary weapon that allows you to bring the light level of something high into that weapon or armor. As you are leveling up you will likely just use the blues that you drop for a while. When you get towards top level and starting finding legendary items that you want to keep and hold on to thats why you would infuse a higher light level blue (rare quality) into a purple (legendary quality) item so the purple item is now at a higher light level so its more effect on the difficult content and continues to help increase your overall light level.
Instead of running heroic strikes you can go directly to a strike on the map and set it to 320 and the blues that will drop go up to 365 (the only strike you can't do this on is the nexus)

you can get the artifact from Eris if you level her up you'll get 90-80% chance for a higher level artifact, do CoO or donate wormsprow to get it faster, or do patrols for the Iron Lords artifact which is 350, after that do Eris levelling up to get one up to 365

so the 340-365 drops come from the SIVA strike bosses are guaranteed higher light? I've been stuck at 346 since day 1 of ROI and its such a let down every time in play
Yep Siva 320 I think CAN work, but i know the SIVA heroics will drop two blues that are identified that should be higher that your light level by at least a couple i've had a 3-4 increase sometimes. But i would say the SIVA heroics playlist will help a lot. Legendary engrams will decrypt higher than your light as well until you get to 365 but sadly they stop at that point.

Question, about the raid. Do certain chests have guaranteed item drops? Because after killing the first phase of aksis everyone in my party got a ghost shell (not the same one, but a ghost shell). And before that, the chest from the siege engine gave all of us sound and fury. Are they all guaranteed drops, or is it different every time and we just got unbelievably lucky to get all of the same stuff?
Yep Aksis first phase has ghost or artifact. Siege Engine has rocket launcher and chest, vosik has shotgun and fusion and aksis phase 2 is scout or auto rifle with helmet or class item.

Can someone be as kind to explain what he meant by using arc based weapons and abilities in the strikes? Does that change every week? Or does Arc do more damage in RoI?
Sorry when this was made i meant it for the SIVA heroics that week. Just if there is a burn make sure you equip the right type of weapons that the burn shows.

Tier 12 is actually just random when it comes to that. tier 12 can be higher light level but the stat rolls are still random.

What strikes would you prefer for Titan class?
Shield Brothers, but not in this week's nightfall format. Gets you the gauntlets. Darkblade can get you the helm. Undying Mind and Wretched Eye both have class items as well.

Need help I'm 372 light and the thing holding me back is my artifact because it's 365 while everything is in the 370's could anyone tell me where to get higher light artifacts
+Victor Acosta I've got another video on that. If you do Siva strikes and your artifact is your lowest item you should have pretty good odds of getting an artifact from the strike hoard chest you open with a skeleton key. Come Tues with the patch archons forge should help with that as well.

titans have the Strike specific class item, Mark of the Undying Mind, and another one Amerthera Mark. the latter comes from sepiks i believe.
Yeah i looked those up later, between packages, and Archon's Forge class items don't seem to be an issue for me so far.

Yes because it seems after that they don't decrypt higher so use them while you can.

Has bungie officially stated the recommended light level of the raid or is 365 an educated guess?
The loot is supposed to drop 365-385 so i'd image somewhere close to that. Hopefully like 361 if the raid is even like 370 you would be close enough so that the enemies are doing that red level damage just normal damage.
Which strikes are for warlock gear?
Echo Chamber has gauntlets, Fallen SABER has the helm, Both Sepiks Perfected and Omnigul have Warlock Bonds (class item)
I spent first legendary marks on ghost and a helmet, then grinded heroic siva strikes and hit 365 within a couple days. Then started hitting up the raid
Thats a great way to go through it. Iron Banner right now is great for a lot of light sensitive gear as well.

Spamming iron banner when it's around is also good. Got my main from 354 to 367. With all of the extra drops I brought my other characters that were only 320ish to 360. Iron banner drops alot of shit that will level you up quick and if you don't like what you get infuse or dismantle for legendary marks.
Iron Banner drops a lot, almost too much but thats a discussion for another time.
I'm a 369 Warlock. I only have one skeleton key left. is there a specific strike that I should open the chest on?
SABER strike you can get the helm, Omnigul you can get the class item, and Echo Chamber on PS4 has gauntlets (possibly but never seen them). If you want a weapon thats a bit more of a gamble.

Jorge Fernandes legendary engrams decrypt at max 365 so you won't get higher from then. It's just random luck to try and get exotics and/or identified legendaries
What about iron banner? I reached rank 5 and all I get is 340 blues
iron banner is dropping things 1-4 light levels higher than your light so its a good place to level up the primary, secondary, class item and gauntlet slots.

For the raid, light level is important so keep working to get up to about 365. Stick in that strike playlist and youll get those blues that will help you level up and hopefully get you a couple skeleton keys to use after 365. www.destinylfg.net is the site that I use to find groups. Just look at the filters and pick what you need a group for.

Skeleton keys at the end of strikes that you use on the chest at the end can have it just randomly.
The old Archon priest strike is also broken, so if you get that in your Heroic play list as I did then go to orbit and start over.
Also, sidearms are a good option for precision kills when specialist is on.
I've hear the Abomination Strike and Archon Priest, but does the Taken Archon priest still work. I feel i got good rolls on one of those but i forget which.

I hate that you gotta do strikes 10 levels too high to get to 350. Farming reputation isn't really a thing since patrol is the fastest, but still don't give enough that fast. May take 50 to 70 patrols to get it leveled.
Try the 320 strikes before you get up to 350, I think the blues that are identified can still help you out but the heroics will help more once you are higher. I could be wrong but i think they might still work for you.

So I'm a Solo grinder, due to living in a rural area and my internet provider has no upload capabilities so no multiplayer for me. Is there an efficient to level up, it seems that I've been stuck at 351 for ever, lol.
Destiny is a multiplayer game.
Can you do the Siva Heroic playlist. its multiplayer but at least you are match made and would have teammates. At 351 thats the best place to level you up with the blues that drop off the bosses to infuse into your legendary gear and many other drops as well, including skeleton keys that you should save until after 365.
Miller Taylor you are correct, it does have that option, lol. Destiny can also be played solo, though a bit more challenging. I miss the crucible, trials, and the raid, but it's still the most enjoyable game out there for me personally.
I can run some of the Siva Heroics solo. When I log into PoE or a strike it will not do match play, it will time out and send me in solo. Now it is a time killer doing them solo but they are possible. Right now I've been grinding the heck out of patrols, bounties, and the green offerings (maybe its blue) of the Archon forge to gain infusing material. Almost to 352 but it is a grind. going to take your advice and will initially run my bounties then grind away at the Siva heroics, may only be able to complete 2 a day but at least its a start. going from 340 to 365. If you're having trouble with heroics, just re-do the sepiks perfected strike. it's 320, and there's no modifiers
That can work, if you get to about 351 the heroic strikes to have a higher chance to drop skeleton keys that will help out later on.
one more thing, how can I get the skeleton keys?
They are a random drop from heroic or Nightfal strikes.

I can't get the 360 or 350 ghost shells from the factions, they are only 320 ghost shells
that means your faction rank still low...you need to do bounties for the faction of your choices or donate some supply to quickly rank up..higher faction rank the highest chances to get better light level gears

Everytime a blue drops it's always at 340 and I'm at 351 it's not helping
The Siva Crisis Heroics should drop blues that are already identified that are a little above your light level and help. I don' think the 320 difficulty ones work, but the 350 should.
Where can you get ghosts over 365???? It is holding me down.
I got mine in the raid, just recently only got over 365 to test that. I've had a couple random ones before that but maybe just a random drop. Challenge of elders used to drop ghosts but i don't know if they would drop any higher than 365. It would be when you finish the activity.

My ghosts were blue random drops that i got from strikes i think actually. They were the most obscure things i got, about the same consistently artifact.
I see always 350... but are store nothing and only Quest finish... I think
from 340 to 365 you could do the perfected strike over and over the blue drops gives u up to 365
What level, personally a strike playlist would give you some variety at least and you also get the Strike boost for more drops.
true but in doing it my way in two hours i went from 350 to 365 but thats just me there is other ways i was just pointing out this is also on way to do it aswell

Pro tip: don't infuse, just equipped the blues and keep repeating until you reach the satisfied light then infuse it to your gear.
Good call. Use the marks to buy some vendor stuff like a 350 ghost and then some new weapons at first.
You should do 6 hunters vs acksis prime. 1 hunter uses tether whiled the other 5 hunters use celestial nighthawk golden gun. You wait until the 3rd teleport and then nuke acksis. Also please shout me out if you do this.

Doing wrath of machine got me from 353 light all the way to 365. Raid boosts you realllyyyy fast. Try and find a group for it.

You actually shouldn't infuse everything as it wastes materials. Rather, you should equip the items as they come and infuse once you get above 365 light.
That is true. So many early quests i was keeping up with marks but later on this is very true.

Cool, no problem. Also, Blue engrams have a chance at decrypting into legendaries at up to 365 or even exotics. I pulled a Suros Regime out of a blue.
What about Archon's Forge?
+Amanda Fazio Archons forge is now viable after the patch. I got a lot of class items in there but other stuff can drop too that is light sensitive. Even though I got a couple chests that were locked at 365 twice so don't know the full loot pool yet.

Yeah i just did the nightfalls this week after the IB grind and so far 387 heavy and 388 legendary. Nightfalls for the win for a little while.

legendary engrams when should I use those
They stop at 365 for me and i have decrypted a lot of them. Up to 365 legendary engrams are great but past that i've had no luck. Are yours any different.
I have decrypted one and one only that went to 369 all the others have been 365 you are ps4?

Somehow that is true, Archon's Forge is now an option when i made this the patch wasn't out yet. Nightfall i somehow forgot but yes its light sensitive as well.
Replace the 340>365 method with NON heroic 320 Omnigul farming. Its faster. drops a shitload of blues that are 340-365 and are always 3-4 levels ahead of you.
I realized that a bit later, but since a lot of us hardcore were at like 330 it didn't last long to get to 340 so the campaign somewhat would handle that. Newer players on the other hand would get more use out of the playlist especially if they finished the story at a lower level. Good call.
So the blues that drop from the bosses in the Heroic strikes can not be higher then 365?? If not, then how about Legendaries and Exotics, can they go higher then 365 if you are light level 364??? Artifacts are BS man, after 2 Eris Mourn rank-ups and 3 Skeleton Key(no artifacts), I finally got my 1st artifact on my 4th key, and it was fucking 364, I literally wanted to cry......
Legendaries stop decryping at 365 as well. Artifacts i just got randomly from enough engrams.

Exotics go above, i know that but i tried a lot of legendaries yesterday and they were capping at 365. I have had a couple go above randomly but most seem stuck right at 365. I got a cloak from Archons forge at 368 a random shotgun at 366 but those were drops i think from activities.

Normal strikes til 340, hard strikes til 365, Iron Banner and raids and nightfall til 385. Don't open any purples or golds you get at lower levels to make it easier once you hit 365. Really doesn't need to be a 12 minute video.
