To lap the valves it would be easier if he used a bit of hose attached to the valve and something else on the drill side. Makes easier to move than just attached to the drill.
You need to look into "golf-balling" or a dimpled finish. The most up to date engine theory actually avoids perfectly smooth runners in favor of intentional texture
I do the same valve job, but instead of clamping on the valve itself, I use a vacuum line to hold it and clamp onto the vacuum line instead, if that makes sense 🤣🤣
That is the worst way to lap a valve. If you're going to use a drill you should use a rubber hose. I've seen valves get bent because a hose wasn't used.
Yoo wassuo guys where are you located? and will you guys be able to do sum like this to my 04 accord ex I have a blown head rn I just sealed it up on my k24a its bone stock . I’m also willing to do a full swap on another k24 can u guys please lmk. I do understand there is coronavirus outside but I’ll wear my mask . Lol

k24 stock bottom. k20A euro r head spring and retainer ported, skunk2 stage cams, 80 mm TB, 3” exhaust , 1000 cc injectors, RBC m... how much power can i expected?? thanks in advance
Yo Mike, what cams would u prefer? 06 tsx cams or the z1 cams? I have a k24a1 with k20z3 head on it and I recently swapped the z3 cams for the tsx cams. The z3 cams had a harder hitting vtec but tsx seems to pull harder. The car was tuned with z3 cams at 228/178. I know the z1 cams are pretty much the same as type r cams and would love to try those also. So Mike, which ones should I f… wit??? ;)
Do you think if i wanted to get into assembling motors (stock) this is a good way to start? I'm thinking of doing this by picking up a k20A2 and K24a2? Would this be the best combo? Want to drop it on my ep3
My gf named her car Vanessa, a Sonata. We have Genesis G80 now. So wonder what name will be. My W124 370K 300D is named Runaway diesel or Clunky. 93 Stealth twin turbo billet 15gs Moonlight I had bunch of other cars but they didn't get names. Guess just the favorites over the years get names.
Thanks for the awesome content! Heads up I used that exact timing chain & guide kit and it snapped on me 2 weeks after the dyno while pulling out of my driveway, bound up both cam gears; bending like 8 of my ferrea 6000 series valves 😭 I hope it treats you better than it treated me!

the slightly rough finish in the intake ports is there on purpose. it creates a swirling effect, mixing the fuel with the air better. Dont polish it.
To lap the valves it would be easier if he used a bit of hose attached to the valve and something else on the drill side. Makes easier to move than just attached to the drill.
Don't smooth out the intake runners any further. It needs to be rough for better airflow. Exhaust side should be polished
Yes, texture on intake side helps atomization, smooth on exhaust side for faster flow
Correct
the rougher surface is better helps atomization. you should only smooth out the the exhaust side.
greNAde
What an awesome group of guys. I can hang out with these guys all day.
I will never do something like this but your videos are just fun to watch guys!
Never say never
the last two ports on that head were done in a hurry compared to the first two, you can tell in the polish job
You need to look into "golf-balling" or a dimpled finish. The most up to date engine theory actually avoids perfectly smooth runners in favor of intentional texture
yeahitskimmel ye seen that guy from that tuner guys UA-cam channel. No proof it works tho right?
@@danielbentley6000 If you understand how a golf ball works, then you should understand why this will work.
Yea, Phong on pfi speed
Lmao 202k on upload. Congrats boys, keep up the good work.
Loco Diablo
(Crazy Devil) ... FTW
Should have used 06-08 tsx cams and you guys are from Vegas right name it Jackpot

WHeres the pink widow?
LETS GO!!!!
Wow 176 bucks! cant wait to see what it runs?!?!
was gonna work but had to watch LOCOMOTIVES
I've heard an old wives tale about people welding feeler gauges to the cam lobe to increase lift. If it's in the spirit of a cheap build...
Rooey that’s brave
Cool wives! Mine doesn't know what a cam lobe is. Lol
DNJ also makes bearings for the k20. Standard and oversized
Just wanted to suggest... buy a deburring tool or use an old pocket knife. MUCH easier/faster than a flat file,sandpaper,etc...
keep up the awesome work guys
Use a flex pipe to conect drill with valve. Is more safe and easy
That is the worst way to lap a valve. If you're going to use a drill you should use a rubber hose. I've seen valves get bent because a hose wasn't used.
Do you leave the coolant diverter in the k24 block using the k20 head
more videos like these PLS
Here because of knowledge
Special K 😂 😂
it's 2000 grit bro
that needs to be a shirt
Bro you're going 11.9 to 12.2s which is pretty damn good 👌
JUICE BOX BUILT have faith bro! Lol
@@diymike you need some cams mike. Without them I don't think you'll go faster then 11.7
Steam - na na hey hey kiss him goodbye. Should play that chorus when it launches
Wild Rice, my name suggestion.

Wiltgen fab please haha that would be sick were sitting here trying to figure out what to do
Dom: you owe me a 10 second car

Your videos are A1 bro
What’s the build song? It sounds great.
I just used vacuum hose to connect the valve stem and drill bit on the other side. Easier to connect and disconnect during valve grinding.
Safer as well that way the valve stem doesn’t get smooshed. Great thinking friend
you could name it the boogie man
If you use a lot of brake clean buy the stuff in bulk from Barsol I use A-3696
Did you guys balance the rotating assembly? The more weight you get off it, the more power it'll produce.
Try WIDOW MAKER.....👍
What head studs were used ?

What compression does the piston give
They said it, prob around 13ish with setup
Whats the diference k24aa3 va k24 aa2
Where would you recommend is best for buying a cylinder head?
I have a K24Z7 in my car, and heard the K20Z3 head is good for increasing HP.
Yooo my duds what's up
I dunno if 10s will be possible with 250 hp lol I’m anxious to see what it does
Richie Rich we made 251 with a k20. This is a 2.4 liter. So we will make a little more.

LMFAO, 202k subs now. Noe step it up Mike and crew, lets see how 2020 goes!
Idk why diymike gives me the confidence to think I can build a motor 🤣
I swear that guy sounds like Brian’O’Connors boss in the first movie.
Name it Loco NAdah
Please explain why the K2.0 head is superior to the K2.4
If I put my love into an all motor and just wanted to send it, I'd name it 'Valentine'
so ebay pistons work ???
Jasmine (like jasmine rice. The engine bay is sriracha) lmao
Nyah theres already a jasmine civic around
Are these pistons good for the street car of nippon racing?
What weld was used to finish intake manifold
It will depend on the fuel you run on it. Use. Pure methanol and it will go 10s easy.
Honda For Life 😈 I'll check site get it 🤠
Hebrew hammer hit them LOL’s tho 😂
Was that first valve on the lap job bent?
From where are you sir?Do you accept some clients who wants to build an ultimate k20/k24 engine wth turbo to their hondas?

Anybody know why we need to plug that oil port? Thanks for the help!!!
Why did y’all dip the head bolts in oil? I would think that gives incorrect torque readings when tightening the fasteners 🤔
I was curious bout that too. A little makes sense, but dipping them?
Wet torque is probably what is specified. ARP gives you specific grease, but OE bolts probably just say wet.
Are you gonna make IFO?
Hey bro are you willing to assist in finding a motor looking for a K live in southern NM not good conditions out here
gang gang
Call it ghost
Call the car super natural since its naturally aspirated

It would've been really cool to see you guys turn the manifold into a center-feed
I have a 15 accord with a center feed you would think it would be easy to just bolt a turbo right on
What compression?
Around 13ish
Just call it "THE WHITE KNIGHT"
Do you know someone good to rebuild the rsx type s engine in Dallas tx bro.
The amazing chimichanga Raw😂😂😂
2006 tsx cams heard they better for this setup

K24 EJ6 what cams were you running?????
Diymike Skunk2 Tuner Stage 3 cams & we installed a chameleontuning modified OEM tensioner.
So what motor is better k24/20 head or k20/24 head?? Please let me know I’d like to do my first k series build
All hybrids are a K24 block. It's the entire "point" of it.
Oof i would have put some wd40 on the sandpaper at least b4 using it on the crank
Call it the K9 because it's a k-serious and it's gonna go 9's
Reused head studs? Not gonna lie, my dude told me he did his that way and since 13' its been running lol
