Product Review of my new Wheel Lug Locks from Advanced Wheel Locks, I really like the design and price point on these. Very sturdy happy customer! Most likely will order a set for my Acura but in a black finish.
Vehicle Shown: 2019 Honda Accord
I have installed them on my SUV today. They work perfectly for Toyota and Lexus which use 37mm design. Unlike OEM locks, I can't think of any tools that can hack this design easily yet.
Thanks so much!
There's plenty of places to hide those in the trunk of your car.
Good to know
@@advancedlocks I just placed an order, can't wait😁
What if people heat them up and melt them off?
Purchased these about 6/16/2020 for my wife 2019 Toyota with the silver and black rims. He is right they are hot on the market. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product. They are a young company and have improved a lot from the first product. They will work with you if contacted for something special like a jeeps 5th wheel. I was treated very good by the company and am very happy with the quality.
Jeeps 5th wheel, yea they need an extra lock. My niece owns a jeep, I should get her a set!
We are indeed a young small company. Don't let the website fool you! Thanks again for the order.
Thanks for the great review!
My pleasure!
Thanks for your help on Facebook Messenger! - Can't wait to get these!
Didn’t realize Honda Accord Lx or even Ex wheels were in demand- thought it was only the sport that was high value. I have a pilot touring and got these locks i hope they work. Honda wheels are a big target here on the east coast
Heck yeah they are. Accords are one of the most popular cars in America and unfortunately, it makes those wheels a hot commodity.
My rims were stolen Thanksgiving day of 2020
@@brianpemberton5799 did you have these locks on them?
@@brianpemberton5799 sorry to hear that man
@@sagemoonchild333 I doubt he did that's why he's on here
How are your wheels holding up now with these wheel locks? Has anybody attempted anything? I have a set on the way, and need to get them on as soon as they arrive. Thanks!
Great Video! Just bought a set in Black for my Model Y that's coming in 10 days! - But, they were $164 shipped. Well worth it because the wheels and tires are $4000!!!!
Unfortunately the standard size do not work on the black model Y wheels. The inductors. Had to return them and the company sent me their custom ones that the socket is 0.97” diameter. The standard is 1.3” and the lug holes in my wheels are 1.25”
@@NAY2GAS glad to hear your experience went well when dealing with them, I’m considering buying a set for my BMW now too!
@@Bvegaaaa Liz Lamberts will take care of you, you can contact her through their website if you have any questions. Tell her I sent you. Sal Cameli
"Don't exceed 100 ft lbs?" That's ridiculous! Can't use them then, as my Jeep's lug nuts need to be torqued to 130.

What you should do is get a velcro pouch keychain and store it on your keys with a lanyard. You always have your keys with you when you get into and out of your car. It's on a lanyard around your neck so it makes it difficult for you to lose.
The lock is really heavy, it would be pretty uncomfortable to lug around
great video ! definitely getting these and returning my other one for $300
What were the other ones you got ?
I have couple of questions..
1.) do they rust over time ? I heard it happens for other wheels locks
2.) When you mentioned about "another" system that is very expensive at 9:35, were you referring to Rimgard or Rimlox ?
Probably rimgard
I've had mine for a full year now through rain, snow, ice, salted roads and they dont have any sign of damage
That was awesome thank you. I was actually ready to purchase the Moper lock kit, but now that I saw your review on the Advance I’m holding up. If you would be so kind as to answer two questions if possible please.
1# What is the name of the brand you mentioned was a good system, but a bit pricey.
2# What is your opinion on the Advance versus the higher price one and the Mopar when it comes to difficulty with delaying or preventing potential tire theft.
Hello skynet2115 thank you for the comment, the brand I was referring to is Rimlox they have a good concept & design but as I mentioned a bit pricey. When searching for a wheel lock to purchase I narrowed it down to Advanced versus Rimlox, both share a great idea when it comes to security but I decided to go with advance based on pricing and simplicity. Mopar has a great idea with the spinning ring concept I just didn't think they're locks would fit my Honda. Thieves want to steal your wheels quietly and quickly. Advanced, Rimlox, and Mopar will all help delay and make it difficult, thieves don't want to make a bunch of noise when trying to get your locks off. What it comes down to is which wheel lock is right for you, which one would help you sleep at night knowing your wheels are secure and how much it'll cost you to get that security. Hope this comment helps, and thanks for watching!
Thanks for that extensive research.
I really do appreciate it.
Awesome!!! :-)
Mine took about 2 weeks
Get a second lock set for a 2nd vehicle and put a spare non matching key in each vehicle in an obvious location. This would certainly throw a thief off if they find the dummy key while the actual one is hidden.
These locks are only good if the mounting holes are deep. But not for shallow aftermarket wheels
At 6:10 they would use a smaller diameter socket. Hello?
That won’t change anything.
Yay! You’re back! 🙌🏼
Yes I am!
Your socket to defeat it was too small. A bigger one pounded down to the base may have worked.
I'm pissed, I can't get them for my new enkei j10 rims😤😠
Rimguard is also a great away to go
Doing gods work! Thanks.
Cool video! Just what I needed. I’m going to order one.
I bought these they work very good. I extremely recommend.
Glad I could help!
@@iperez8743 Thanks!
Thanks!
@@iperez8743 did it take a while before you got them? I only see a backorder option for the ones i need.
Thank You !
What's the technical name of the tool that you used to install? That tool that somehow let's you set the torque.
Torque wrench
Just tried to order ,web site is not working.
What socket size did you use? I asked advanced wheel locks and they said 18mm which I got for my accord but it doesn’t fit with my torque wrench
What is the name of the other expensive locking system you mentioned?
Rimlox
I wouldn't put it with the tools in the trunk ...I'll just with me at home
I’ve text and emailed them and have not heard a word from them
Are those 12×1.5?
Awesome video! . . . if you like watching advertisements, cause that's what it is :)
Will these work on a 2000 Celica gts
Too bad Advanced Wheel Lock does not have the appropriate style (conical seat) for Toyota/Lexus.
Good idea not to give your secret spot otherwise they would just smash your window and easy access to those wheels
Where did you get it trying get. Some from my car
advancedwheellocks.com
They also have them in a black finish, getting a set of those for my other vehicle. Thanks for watching!
@@thanelach hope they sell for my car.
What's the torque for a 2020 honda accord
I looked at the 2020 owners manual for the accord I read 80lbs.
@@thanelach thanks wasn't sure how's advance wheel locks doing for your wife just purchased one cause of your video keep the good work
Working out great for her, thanks for watching. Getting a set in a black finish for my other car. Glad this video helped you
How you know you have 80 pound
Hello Elnene 21, tool I used to get 80lbs is a torque wrench. You can find these at a local hardware store, Harbor Freight sells them as well for a decent price. I adjust which setting I need in my case was 80lbs and then tighten until you hear a click noise, that click noise tells me I have reached 80lbs of torque. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
You need to learn about tools
How long did they take to arrive?
Mine took two months
@@joeprado2492 Thats ridiculous!! I placed the order for mine on the 1st of this month and I still haven’t gotten an email or tracking number yet. They take way to damn long. I could’ve gotten a package from China faster. Regardless of how secure or good the product might be I’m already dissatisfied and regret buying them.
@@gmcsierra4889 hi, wondering if you ever got your lock in hand! if yes how long did they take to deliver?
@@rifattaque7301 it’s been a while since I bought them but it was around 2 months maybe a bit more.
@@gmcsierra4889 oh okay. glad you got 'em! how do you like it so far. Do you recommend someone to buy
These work good for amateurs but if someone can start your car remove all bolts drive away with car and brake real hard they can just snap it off.
while I agree advanced are superior to Gorilla or any other lock on the market, they are 3 times the price. 125 compared to the other companys that average 25 to 50. Saying "price point" is excellent is stupid. Might be worth the price but they are the must expensive ones out there.
Compared to spending money on new rims and tires plus gas money and wasting time in between I say 125 is a well spent investment bro
They should be. If you gotta $1500- $2000 set of rims plus tires. Why the hell is $100 a bad price to offer almost perfect protection.
I have $3k in tires and rims not to mention the damage they could do when they steal them and either drop my truck on blocks or the ground, I'd say $125 isn't bad for that kind of protection....
I have stock rims on my car with good "performance" tires ($150 each). Replacing all of my tires and rims would probably be about $1,000 total. For rather basic equipment.
I just received my order (took slightly more than a week and a reminder email).
I spent $400+ on 20 identical wheel locks (5 per wheel x 4 wheels) plus 3 matching "keys" to remove them.
One per wheel is ok, but a thief can remove all of the regular lugs and use the wheel itself to snap the security lug off. That will be true of any security lug. Putting 2 security lugs on each wheel (opposite spacing) means the wheel cannot be used as a lever. Putting security lugs on all 16 or 20 locations is a bit of overkill but it also looks better asthetically.
Now, if I decide to upgrade my wheels at some point, I know they will be protected. $400 for a lifetime of protection is worth it. Do it now before you spend that much AND spend $1000 or more on replacing what thieves stole.
