Have a basic formation in jazz piano but haven't really practiced in years and all those videos have made me pick it up again and work on my fundamentals again so thanks a lot Tony.!
Wow... a great version of a great classic: I think I'll be spending a lot of time on this video, thank you very much Maestro 😊. A great week to everybody 😊.
Avila? My ex husband is Avila thus our 5 children carry Avila. Funny because I hardly ever see it. Nice to see it in the comment s3ction of a video with such beautiful music 🎶 blessings and love being went from this side ❤️ 😊
"It's legal but..." haha! great tips to help you find the scales. These lessons often tell me things I already knew but I didn't know I knew them! Can I just say: If you don't have Tony's gorgeous 6' grand piano with long strings, use more open voicings in the lower chords, otherwise they can sound a bit muddy on an average upright.
Great video! Can I add that you should play this in double time and half time? That was Bill Evans' rule for this piece, and most recordings of this tune leave that part out, even most of the soloists on Kind of Blue don't do it. It's a fun improvisational concept to take this short form and distort the timing that way. I have a piece called Vermillion that is modeled after this concept.
@@TonyWinston Apparently it was on the 'Pop' Charts for more than 2 years in America (?). It appears on the album 'Live at the Pershing' AND a film of a contemporaneous performance. I once saw 'Lester Bowie's Brass Fantasy' and they did a costume change from various sequined or 'lame' suits into alternatively coloured suits and marched, playing through the aisles! Kind Regards from Adrian in Australia.
Bro...the first chord should be G-9.
The pirate real book change is WRONG. WTF...?
Listen to the recording.
Dude really? Your gonna call out the teacher? He could probably tell you 10 different chords that would have worked there!
A G-9 is the same as a BbM7
BM7 is rootless g-9.
@@RC-Heli835 ha! He put me in my place.

A very fine simple walk-through. Plangent, there's a nice word.

Creo, sin temor a equivocarme, que éste es el video más raro de TW. But... I love it aniway!!
Heyyy can you do a tutorial on how to play the intro part of Fascinating Rhythm by Jamie Cullum I’d be willing to remunerate you 🥰
Awesome, thanks for this. What is so bad about thinking about those notes on the A Dominant as a flat 5 and a sharp 5?
Yes, that works. Any mental shortcut is great!
Poinciana?
That song would make a great 'What makes this song great' video. Coming soon...

Only thing better would be if it were on a nice cruise!
Oh that sucked ! Lol
Tony you’re so raw. Lol
?
It’s probably composed by Bill Evans but signed by Miles 🙄
