It’s so rare to have someone on UA-cam really sharing useful jazz lessons/tips without trying to monetize every single thing… this is how jazz stays alive and grows
all my works about jazz piano are free on my website : florentgac.com/boutique/ Enjoy !
I wish I had the money to give Tony. If I start gigging with his knowledge, who knows? I might be able to help him out.
In the meantime, I’m boosting the algorithm!
it’s much appreciated

Yup. He’s so straight forward. The type of piano teacher I click with😊
"I'm finally beginning to hear it" - A master musician working on a phrase after 5 minutes practicing a pattern.
I'm a bass player and this is the most useful thing Ive ever watched
I am in love with people like this guy who gives lessons with a very humble heart and not like others who are speeding always to show off instead of teaching
You are such a real guy...a mensch...your humilty and skills are a wonderful thing you have...beautiful music...great teacher
‼️You are a human being that makes this world a much better place ❤
This vid has been out for 2 years and I'm just now finding this. This is gold.
I've been a guitarist for over 50 years (and cellist) and I've never seen pentatonic explained like this. Excellent teaching!
One of the best explanations and demonstrations on this subject so far.
You have made more sense to me theory wise than anyone in over 20 years of playing music
I've been teaching the use of pentatonics like this for years- this is the clearest description and application I have seen.
Another amazing lesson. I wish I was exposed to this stuff 40 years ago when I learned my first pentatonic scales. Thanks for being so generous with your hard earned knowledge.
This tutorial is perfect in every aspect:didactical and musical;clear presentation, clear explainations, right tempo, interesting and varied patterns.
No personal Information, no Click down below etc. I love it!
Glad to see this great lesson has caught the eyes of the YT Gods! Invaluable as always.
Tony, your channel is invaluable. Clear, straight forward, and as you said yourself - no crap! Thank you.
Glad to see a master willing to share.
Tony Winston is one of my favourite music teachers
These are really terrific videos and I keep watching them in the hope that I will start to better "speak" the language of jazz. The one component I am not getting is the magic in actually using the scales to sound good . . . but I'll keep trying. Thanks, Tony for this gift to a world of appreciating musicians.
Thank you so much, Tony! I am learning so many.new approaches to soloing and playing over these jazz tunes.
THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR. THANKSS TONY!
Man, you just shed a bunch of light into a heretofore dim room in my brain. Thanks! Great playing and videography.
Great work on this incredible instruction. You're a blessing, thank you
I like how he managed to squeeze in "the lick" at 15:53
So generous of you. Thank you Tony.

This is an incredibly useful lesson. Thank you for your succinct and thoughtful explanation.
Best video about pentatonic I've ever seen! Thank you so much!
Great lesson, love that penta sound. Thanks!
Thanks very much for this explanation of side slipping! I've seen others do it with complex modes which make it hard to put into practice at first. This looks like the ideal entry point!
Hi Tony, many thanks for your fantastic videos. You’re helping me unlock the building blocks of impro
ultra helpful and way cool, thanks Mr. Winston!
Thank you. I have always wondered what I was hearing in certain jazz solos. Penatonics and slide slipping. Very cool. Thank you. Your presentation is very comprehensive.
Even though your piano playing is amazing, what blew my mind is your pedagogy skills. Not everyday you experience the “oral storytelling” ancient tradition of passing/sharing knowledge.
Superb lesson amigo.
At last! A clear explanation that encourages me to experiment. Thanks Tony!
I've been trying to learn jazz for some time now. This is a big, big piece of the puzzle. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
A great generous musician you are.
Really cool sounds! Would’ve never thought of pentatonics sounding that complex. Opened my brain today, thanks!
Awesome Tony thankyou for sharing your huge amout of experience. 🙏😎
Very impressive use of the pentatonic scale. It's amazing how using a scale with only 5 tones can sound more colorful and dynamic (when in the right hands) than more complex scales. Thanks Tony!
I love to see you working this out in real time. You could have fully figured it out and then did the video, but it is so helpful to see your thought process.
Fabulous Tony!!
great work. Gives context to practicing them. thanks so much
Excellent! Thanks for taking the time for doing this! Greetings from London England!
A wonderful segment! Thank you!!!
Great sounding piano. And thanks for the knowledge.
I really love the sound of the c maj pent over F major. Specifically the descending pattern it seems to be made up of descending 4ths and 5ths. Such an amazing sound!
Thank you very much!! It was a very good lesson!
You just made my day, dear Tony! What an excellent lesson, I learned a TON of things in your video. And when you start side slippin' it just became too good to be true! Awesome stuff, thanks so much! I'm running to Patreon for some well-deserved support. Thanks again!
I thought I knew a lot about Penttonics - you correct me. Thank you. Greetings from the homeland of Chopin 😀
This is just what i was in need for!
I finally foud a teacher that is playing exactly what I want. Thank you.
your videos are super helpful! you're actually making me a better piano player
Tony, very good,
really enjoyed
congratulations for the explanation
thank you very much Tony! very interesting!!
Thank you for the AMAZING LESSON. Greetings from Brazil.
Wow, I'm glad I stumbled onto this video. Ive been learning Jazz guitar for a long time now, but sometimes learning Jazz concepts from other guitar players can be confusing... I don't know why. When it is explained on piano and I can follow along with the chart it makes it easier for my brain to process. Amazing lesson!
So glad I found your channel Tony, I'm a guitarist and your lessons have helped me expand my ears and thus my vocabulary in interesting non guitar-istic ways. Thank you very much!
