    I've been a guitarist for over 50 years (and cellist) and I've never seen pentatonic explained like this. Excellent teaching!

    These are really terrific videos and I keep watching them in the hope that I will start to better "speak" the language of jazz. The one component I am not getting is the magic in actually using the scales to sound good . . . but I'll keep trying. Thanks, Tony for this gift to a world of appreciating musicians.

    Thanks very much for this explanation of side slipping! I've seen others do it with complex modes which make it hard to put into practice at first. This looks like the ideal entry point!

    Very impressive use of the pentatonic scale. It's amazing how using a scale with only 5 tones can sound more colorful and dynamic (when in the right hands) than more complex scales. Thanks Tony!

    I really love the sound of the c maj pent over F major. Specifically the descending pattern it seems to be made up of descending 4ths and 5ths. Such an amazing sound!

    Wow, I'm glad I stumbled onto this video. Ive been learning Jazz guitar for a long time now, but sometimes learning Jazz concepts from other guitar players can be confusing... I don't know why. When it is explained on piano and I can follow along with the chart it makes it easier for my brain to process. Amazing lesson!
