I think people are "confused", expecting a "legendary" infusion.
What we have is a infusion you can buy for each character, it's just they all share the boost if you upgrade.
A lot of people didn't even know about the swim speed infusion before this update to be fair.
And it was a lot more expensive to up the swim speed on each character before this change.

How many u/s are you at with +10 infusion?
How are you going to get the +30 boost? The TP cost is prohibitive and you need 1,048,576 of the +10 boosts.
Wow 1 million+ ?? That's insane!!!
I'll still go for it though. The prices for these +10s will subside as more people farm the chests for gold. It is way too expensive and much above their true value currently imo. Plus there is now a way to buy the weekly keys so more +10s will hit the TP soon enough bringing the price down
@@coffeedart_gw2 Yeah, it’s 2 to the power of 20 purchases for the +30, compared to 2 to the power of 10 for the +20 (or 1,024 purchases). The +25 is 32,768 purchases.

You need to be the dev so you can just generate one.
so you still need to buy 15+ swim speed infusions for each character for it to work? That's not account wide at all... it doesn't make sense.
Yes its a bit of a convoluted system. I am not a big fan of how it works. +15 for every character.... +20, 25, 30 for "account" (Meaning characters that have the +15)
The first one is the core infusion you need for each character, they all share the same bonus if you upgrade them.
It’s very confusing how the account wide bonus works and if you must first have a swim speed infusion of any level on all of your alternate characters, before the account wide bonus can work. Can someone please confirm how this works? It’s not explained by the patch notes or on the wiki.
You buy the base +15 for every character you want the account bonus of +20, 25, 30 to work on... And then instead of buying +20, 25 and 30 for each and every character, you only buy it once, and every character that has the +15 slotted will automatically convert to +20, 25 and 30 ... Note: the +15 I am talking about is not normal +15 one but the new one they added that I talk about in the video.

@@georgmeir so you have to buy the account infusion (wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Account_Swim-Speed_Infusion) and slot that in aquabreather of every character you want the swim speed boost for. It gives you a base swim speed of +15 + Account bonus. This account bonus is 0% for now sp your total swim speed is +15.
Then you get the Account Swim-Speed Boost +20 (wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Account_Swim-Speed_Boost_%2B20) only 1 time, which will automatically grant bonus speed to all the Account infusions that you bought previously on all characters
It will show up as +15 swim speed + account bonus on there... so total will be +20 on all characters that have it in the aquabreather

Napkin maths:
Average price of swim speed infusion before the patch = 20 silver
I am speculating that the prices should normalize and maybe even drop below the previous average because of addition of easily obtainable keys/week (for karma). Not to mention, farming sunken chests was already top 3 solo gold farm before the price increase.
But for argument’s sake, let's say that the prices don't drop below the previous average of 20 silver.
We need 1,048,576 +10 infusions just for +30 account infusion. That's 209,715.2 gold.
We need 32,768 for the +25 account infusion. That's 6,553.6 gold.
We need 1,024 for the +20 account infusion. That's 204.8 gold.
For a total of: 216,473.6 gold.
Now, I know I would be able to get the +25 easily at 20s/+10 infusion.
But you are totally right about +30.. That one might take me some time.
Another BUT: If the price drops significantly because now we can get 2x the amount of keys as before, then it might just be possible. Which is why I will not be selling, but buying the +10s if/when the price drops.
Yet another but: I am sure the barons and completionists of the game would go for the +30s too. So I am not sure the price drop will happen very soon. We'll wait and see
Edit: I think it's the kind of goal that is meant to be a long term goal for people who like to go for such things in the game. In a way it is good, because it keeps the prices up for average players who want to sell the mats for gold for other things and activity levels in older zones too. Its also nice for completionists who like such goals. I have not yet completed anything this crazy myself but I have a few goals that I work towards bit by bit and it keeps me engaged with the game. An example of something that I am working on is "Legendary everything including 8 sigils and 7 runes" and I am only 6 weapons short. Another one is having all permanent contracts and I am close to finishing that too. Have the permanent bank and extractor and canister and merchant. Only need crafting station and hairstyling kit to finish this one. I have been playing for 3 years but I am close to completing many such goals.

Agreed. Not a big fan of the system either. I still want to go for it, though. Which makes no sense. Let's see what they come up with, with the upcoming "Sunken Treasure Week" event.
This update is all but saying that; they want to simplify and improve it since deleting something entirely isn’t possible but they made it a bit clunky
