Although Premiere Pro is a great program it's still just a palette & brush. The editor (Trent) is the artist.

You are right, the story telling is very important. It's why I like your videos, you tell stories. Lots of people do flying videos but without some point of interest or story they aren't that exciting.

Thank you. For many people the big brand editors are too much, in terms of complexity and expense. After years of frustration with these I happened on a $50 Russian program called Movavi, downloaded from Amazon. After a year and a half of use I can say it is reliable and easy to use. No more crashes and errors. And their customer support is actually better than the big video programs.

Thanks for posting this! Gave me some pointers and simplified some stuff. I actually just finished my first video on Premiere Pro today. I upgraded from iMovie and it’s quite the learning experience, but I can already tell this program will be so much better. I can’t believe how easy the multi camera editing is too. Way easier than iMovie. Always enjoy watching your videos man. Keep them up! 🤙🏼

Hey Trent, love your vids! Something I would like to know more about is your experience and knowledge of owning a (specifically) USED experimental aircraft. Advantages, disadvantages, cost savings, what to look out for if you are buying used experimental, cost you were not expecting. All the differences between building or owning certified. I have been a certified owner for a little over a year now and man what a learning experience! I imagine there are even more nuances to used experimentals. Thanks for doing what you do!

Great video. I'm in the middle of starting 2 channels. I've been trying different free programs, and found a 2 week free trial of one program that another you-tuber has shown. I might just try out the free version of premiere to see if it would be worth the money for me. Looks very easy. Love the vid's. I'm a couch pilot. Lost my license a number of years back due to medical issues. I had stopped flying months before as I didn't feel safe. I love the feeling I get when watching you fly into these back country spots. I can see myself behind the yolk. I can feel the landings. All mine were on runways. Didn't have access to a plane that would play like that. Keep em coming!

After setting the in and out points, just hit the comma key and it will insert that clip into your sequence. And use Ctrl-K for cutting at the play head. Much faster than selecting the tool and clicking.

Great video Trent. I come from iMovie and single video camera along with splashing pictures I gathered from the event. I have used Final Cut A couple of times and I like your advice to get what you can start using. I used to make DVDs for the team and other participants on an event. I haven’t had to synchronize multiple videos with clicks or that before. Also I have to figure out how to do the narration or voice overs and maybe even green screen someday.
Thanks again for sharing your process. Cheers!

Wow man ... always had respect for what you do, but now I have HUUUGE respect! Not sure I'd grasp half of this, even after watching this vid 5x in a row, lol. I don't even understand the basics of this, so makes it even tougher to understand - now I know how some people feel when I start explaining what is wrong with their car, or engine, LOL! 😁
Some day I might start posting vids of my daily grind, fixing small engines, cars, motorcycles ... and hopefully some day, some paramotor flying vids. I need an editing software package on a nursery school level, and I'll be good there. 😂

I used to use PPro back when it was 1.5 or 2.0 I believe. I don't really like the monthly fee cost structure now though. Cool you mentioned Resolve - what I'm using currently. Started with Cyberlink Power Director and it sucks IMO. Resolve is pretty great/powerful for a free editor!! Playback on the timeline is really bad/choppy though even with high end hardware... weird. But I don't think it has some of the features you are showing here like that audio wizard. That was super cool! What a time saver... most folks don't realize how much time goes into editing.. so many little time costing details to make it flow and clean. Your editing is top notch, thanks for sharing some tips and tricks... always something more to learn! Always trying to improve my own videos any way I can! -T

Wow! Even more impressed with this channel. Do you have a "rule of thumb" as to how long it will take to upload a typical video you create? Like x minutes upload time for each minute of video playing time? I understand File size, format, other UA-cam traffic, etc. factor into the overall process. What are your minimum requirements for wifi/network? Must be a challenge when you're out on an adventure, like the trip to OSH. Thanks!

I do not, it totally varies, sometimes I will spend days editing one video, others I will throw together in a couple hours. It all depends on how in depth I want to go with perfecting things and how much footage I am dealing with.
