Hey everyone, thanks for watching! Our Airplane Mojo will be on display next week at Oshkosh in the Garmin booth. We will be there most mornings and I’ll try to keep my Instagram page updated on when we are around the airplane. Hope to see you guys there!
I’ve never taken a single flying lesson. I taught myself to fly the Vision Jet through MSFS. Yesterday, I created my own flight plan from Toronto to Montreal using a SID, Departure, Enroute, Arrival and Approach plan all programmed into the FMS. VNAV worked like a charm, and the auto throttle is a godsend. I understood 90% of what was said in this video. I love the Vision Jet, and I love flying it even if it’s just a simulator for me. Watching real pilots fly the real vision jet is a heart warming experience. 😊
You are blessed to be flying with Mutt. He was my ground instructor for my initial and we both flew in the Air Force. He is by far a top notch pilot. The best mentor pilot out there!
Thanks for a terrific video that actually _showed_ us something of how the Vision Jet works for the pilot rather than being nothing more than the usual "Wow Cirrus is great" blather. Truly an excellent little ship and some really clear thinking has gone into making the systems work for the pilot rather than so many systems requiring constant attention. Cirrus you did DO GREAT, I want one!
Wow. I’m not a pilot but have flown hundreds of times as a skydiver and flown with my friends who are pilots. Flown in private jets to sea planes. As being an executive protection agent my job had me in all kids of aircraft flying all over the world. This video of the demoing the Cirrus Vision Jet was very exciting. Well done. Can’t wait till I’ll be able to ride in one. Hopefully soon!
I've been flying GA for 30 years but I can't even imagine the knowledge required to thoroughly understand this aircraft and be able to fly it safely. I learned some time ago there are many people in this world a lot smarter than I am....
It’s not that hard to understand what “it” tries to do. The ugly part comes when “it” isn’t set up right and a pilot that is used to “it” doing everything. That is something to see. Unfortunately I see that kind of thing in newer pilots that have grown up on garmin.
I salute the Col. (assumption) for his dedicated service flying the meanest single seat fighter in the world. I was a 32436C avionics technician in the USAF back in the early 80's.
When I first saw this aircraft, some years ago, I thought it was the SEXIEST aircraft I had ever seen! You guys have shown us that the Vision Jet is also a super modern and safe aircraft capable of high performance with comparably good economy. Amazing!
I've seen this aircraft flying in and out of our airport in Lebanon Mo. I tried to find what it was to no avail, but glad to see it on youtube. It's a beautiful aircraft, and probably gets good fuel mileage. It's also quiet which puts it steps ahead of most private aircraft. Thanks for the video.
Burns 80-85 gallons of fuel in the first hour of a trip, and about 70 gallons per hour while cruising. I'm not sure who it is designed for, one UA-camr changed his channel name from CirrusMax to CitationMax after brief ownership. Cool little jet for the right mission.
Amazing aircraft. Electronics automation making it so easy to fly. One question though: does it not have 'steam gauge' pressure instruments for total electrical failure, or is that terminal?
Great video Capt. Mindy - nice to see you both and in a Vision Jet no less. Love the Ghostbusters reference…light is green, trap is clean! Affectionately Known As (AKA) Mojo! Beware of this crazy Vision Jet talk, Mojo has ears everywhere 😉 Thanks for taking me along, have fun at OshKosh!
Wow! I’m not a pilot, would love to learn and should I hit the big jackpot lottery, I will definitely want to buy one of these after getting my license/wings. It appears to be all measures a very comfortable & safe plane to fly due to all of its safety features, particularly the parachute. Super video demonstration.
Imagine time warping this jet back to the Wright brothers and showing them all the systems ? Obviously no runways and GPS, jet fuel, ATC etc but hay humanity would look at it as a UFO I would think. Beautiful aircraft.
@garylaaks1 Oh, you'd want to show them GPS, runways, control towers, & everything else., too! But you'd have to be careful with that; they might throw down their tools in defeat: Why are we building this dinosaur?
Your instructor -Mutt certainly has his air time in. I’d feel very safe with thus Gentleman! Nice vid. I’ve flown in Cirus prop but not the jet. Looks to be very much fun. Stay safe! Enjoyed.

Great complete flight in the Vision Jet Mindy! What a piece of cake airplane to fly. Your comment about I feel like I should be doing more was funny. Just finished watching it. This was a fun watch. And what a beautifully designed little jet. It seems luxurious, comfortable and safe. And man that's actually quite a gigantic TV for such a tiny space.
Great video. Mutt mentioned that he's done a couple of auto-lands. I'd love to have a look at the track logs of those flights on flightaware. Could you share the dates and tail numbers?
Schmiiindy I think I noticed you may use VFR/IFR notepads. If so do you mind sharing which ones in general have been good for you. I like the idea of potentially using these as a student pilot.
I like it, looked mildly strange during take-off, but looked amazing to fly. Appears very pilot friendly. But single engine and for the price.... I think I am still leaning toward the King Air... Hmmm.... food for thought. Great video, thank you!
As an ex PA 28 pilot flying in one of these or even owning would be a dream. But with a single engine jet, the power it has for weight, plus the return home safety button feature, and the parachute safety system it's just a perfect jet for a mix of safety and ease. Nice jet. The full glass cockpit and the different arrangement of some components would take some cockpit time. I'll get one after I get my sailplane. Nice video. How is the handling?
I think Cirrus Vision Jet is the most amazing general aviation jet ever created. Only wish it would be a twin engine 😃 The views when flying it is alone amazing which makes it great for visuals and hand flying too.
Agreed; I personally (this viewpoint isn't for everybody) probably wouldn't want to fly in just a single engine jet. That's me personally, anyway. (I like having that backup.)
@@voicetube Remember that this jet has a whole-fuselage parachute (the handle with 45 pound pull strength at the very begenning of the video). I'm not a fan of single engine piston aircraft, but between the reliability of a jet and the parachute I'd gladly fly this. If I could afford one 😂
I like Mindy's measured, deliberate proficiency. I didn't care for Mutt blowing through the checklist before departure, though I also didn't hear any briefing about what to do if engine failure during runway roll or on climbout. Perhaps that was edited.

Nothing like being in the hands of a top flight set of hands. That was awesome. I’ve got the C jet on X-Plane but you just don’t get the benefit without the real cockpit.
@@bradlyscotunes9156 Engine-motor, same difference. I Googled it, the answer is; at cruising speed most jets fly "nose high" so angling the engine aligns it with cruising airflow.
The range is the issue with the Vision Jet. It just doesn’t work for my missions. Today, I flew from KGTU (Georgetown, TX, near Austin) to my base in Long Beach, CA. The trip was 1,080 nmi. against the wind and I landed with over two hours of fuel. This trip length is very common for me. In the Vision Jet it would require a fuel stop. Admittedly, my airplane isn’t nearly as sophisticated, but range is very important and, as a side benefit, I paid something like a quarter of the cost of a Vision Jet. Cirrus has designed and produced an amazing, state of the art and beyond airplane, but its mission capabilities are limited.
What type of plane do you have? Agree, the vision jet is a specific mission & just like any plane, will not fit for everybody!! Curious what you decided to purchase?
@@Schmiiindy I have a 1980 Cessna Conquest II (C441). It has a glass panel, but not nearly the integration and sophistication of the Vision Jet. But, with a good tailwind, I’ve flown it non-stop from Long Beach, CA to Orlando, FL. Westbound I can’t go coast to coast non-stop, but I’ll only need one stop. Max range TAS is about 260 knots, but for a, say, 1,500 nmi flight, I can take myself, four passengers, and baggage at max cruise power and 300 knots. And it has a flushing potty. For my specific set of missions, it’s worked out extremely well.
Years ago when we flew with steam gauges and not automation, I remember the Falcon 10 I used to fly amongst others...back then we had this little flight test maneuver that was required to get type rated and we called it the FAA waltz...under the hood to get a certificate one needed to set an altitude like 16,500 and if you went above or under that alt you busted the rid. So to start then set a primary heading and started a turn to the left or right at 250kts between two headings 0 to 60 and back to 0 and back to 60 etc. (hence the term waltz)...so 250 Kts, and Turing at 15 degrees and pulling back on the power while still going back and forth in a 45 degree turn...naturally as you lost lift you added power, then as you came back around to the level you would have to pull the power back to not exceed the original airspeed and reserves the turn and repeat still the same airspeed...then pull the power back while still keeping the turns going and maintaining alt...when slow enough add flats until it stalled still doing the turns, add power to recover without losing any alt, keep the turning going and do not exceed 10 kts from the stall...then pull the power back and repeat until you get to full flaps and gear still Turing back and forth final stall and recover back to 250kts again plus of minus 100 ft...not sure it is still required or required in the plane....but if you want to see how well you are coronated and what your instrument sills, are, give it a try...and loses the TV screens and get two engines...
I have thurly enjoyed this trimendous video, I've always been interested in planes wither small or big, but apart from that, to watch the pilot working in the pilots seat with all these components is away beyond me , l suppose it all comes naturally, but as I said I have thurly enjoyed the video and the flight, so a huge thank you to the person who made this trimendous video.
Looking good in the left seat Schmiindy. Get some turbine time and fly with CitationMax as co-pilot in his new Cessna Longitude. Awesome jet, awesome video. Thanks!
Not a pilot but have a question with all this technology. What happens in the event of an electrical mishap ie. Screens go black? I assume there is backup batteries and redundancy built in. Also, being a single engine jet, is there any history of bird strikes and what is the difficulty of landing without any thrust? I know there is a parachute option but was just curious of the cons with a single engine and all the electronics
Nice friendly pilot talking, amazing camera and ATC communication. Do you feel comfortable flying on a single engine? After many years of flying on a single-engine fighter, I no longer experiment. Only two engines😀
I see you are in the Dayton area -- I live in Dayton. Would have been great for my family and I to meet you -- and the Vision Jet is my dream aircraft!
And for $2 million this too can be yours! Or go used for $1.5-1.7. 😮 looks like an absolute blast to fly though. as with most cool things, only a select few get to experience it.
My single pilot dreams of flying my family in our own plane made me fall in love with this plane. Ultimately I’d want a Vision Jet and a Pilatus PC-24.
Amazing little aircraft, it sure takes the effort out of flying😉It doesn't have the character of Mojo but if you could have both you would be made up Mindy😆Such a great video👍

For my specific set of missions, it’s worked out extremely well.
air refueling
What a treat to be flying with a military pro.....nicely done! Thanks
"'Trim'endous" was apropos for an airplane 😅
Mutt is the BEST!!! Cirrus Vision Jet ROCKS!!!
Looking good in the left seat Schmiindy. Get some turbine time and fly with CitationMax as co-pilot in his new Cessna Longitude. Awesome jet, awesome video. Thanks!
loved it, what a cool plane for cruising. Its a must buy for MSFS
That is one impressive aircraft.. Nice Flying guys! Very nice to watch!
Incredible aircraft! So intuitive! Great flight!
Did lots of approaches into DAY for my CFII. Was not in a vision jet you lucky dog!
I would prefer to have that redundancy/backup engine, personally.
You're a great pilot. Small sample sizes, but what I see is great.
Playing this on msfs 2024 right now. I cant figure out the g3000 and i cant figure out how to do a good landing! lol
Awesome video!
Nice friendly pilot talking, amazing camera and ATC communication. Do you feel comfortable flying on a single engine? After many years of flying on a single-engine fighter, I no longer experiment. Only two engines😀
I have a general question. If there is no GPS does this still work ? Like the vision systems? Map?
I see you are in the Dayton area -- I live in Dayton. Would have been great for my family and I to meet you -- and the Vision Jet is my dream aircraft!
Not a plane-enjoyer, but this aircraft is truly a work of art!
Great flight & content Chief Pilot, "Mutt" Manifold is an awesome personality👽👾
And for $2 million this too can be yours! Or go used for $1.5-1.7. 😮 looks like an absolute blast to fly though. as with most cool things, only a select few get to experience it.
My single pilot dreams of flying my family in our own plane made me fall in love with this plane. Ultimately I’d want a Vision Jet and a Pilatus PC-24.
I learned to fly 3/1975 ,now retired. We have flown with steam gages for 1000's of hours the panel with flat screens looks cool as hell ,I'd be lost.
Amazing little aircraft, it sure takes the effort out of flying😉It doesn't have the character of Mojo but if you could have both you would be made up Mindy😆Such a great video👍
Haha yes. There’s a clip in the beginning with the VJ and mojo being towed away. I agree they look good together on the ramp 😉
How nice! 👍 This is the ideal training aircraft. Envy you. I flown in older aircrafts such as Cessna and Piper.. You are a luck one ☝️
Wonderful video, Mindy! Thanks. 😊
do you guys push down a button to talk to the control tower or whatever is talking in the background or how does it work? Do they hear you talking to each other in the plane too?
Why would you think that ATC would be able to hear the cockpit chatter?
