Cody Blue thanks for the reply i guess sony bodies have IBIS weather you have it in your lens or not , doesn’t matter anymore. anyways thanks for the response 👍 love your work!
Hi Cody, thanks a lot for this excellent "making of" video. I like mountainbiking a lot and admire your well proven gimbal skills. Cheers from Germany.
When Cody does it, filmmaking looks easy too. :-D You realy only understand the hard part of it the moment you are standing on the trail with your camera, trying it for yourself. At least that's my experience.
That is freaking great! I can hardly believe you ran after the bike in those shots and didn't fall end up smacking into a tree. That's skillfull in itself!
My favorite videography and mtb related BTS video. I really love your work! Just two little questions: How do you keep focus on your subject during one scene? Are you using autofocus or how do you focus?
Thanks for taking the time to recreate how you filmed your MTB video. So much effort goes into making great videos, it’s nice to see how it was done. 👊🏼❤️
Nice video, very informative, thanks for that ! Quick question : I don't see you using lens hood or uv filter - not afraid of dust/gravel/rocks damaging the lens ?
I’d like to see a video how you balance your Crane Plus gimbal with the 24-105. Have exact same kit and it drives me nuts trying to get it balanced on all axis!
Awesome BTS...please make more of these, very inspiring and informative Cody, the science behind the cinematic. Also, it would be interesting to see your thought process and flow behind the editing?
This was the hidden GEM FIND of wizardry filming techniques- stumbled across this video and it's one of the best I've seen for months! So comfortable on camera and your editing and exploring on this subject was second to none! Brilliant video bro! Shame I have got a MEGGA gimble or any gimble for that fact, as it seems to be the best option. Could you adapt a go pro 8 with wide angle and the hyper boost stabilization on and fixed on a selfie stick?
@@codyandvictoria Hey! So the gopro will be my best and only option apart from my phone really so I'll loosen the max iso up to 3200 and the ev comp to 0 ( I normally run it at -1 in general ) and that should keep it a bit brighter, thanks for the great ideas!! I'll be sure to try them out on my next group ride!
dude, this is SOOOO frack'n interesting, done in a down to earth manner to boot. Just love it. You're really good at what you do, I love your style. Where is this footage taken? where do you guys ride? This is the type of terrain I've always wanted to ride.
Fort of all. I like the beginning when you are saying. Hello it's your boy Cody blue. Hahaha. This so cool. Anyway. Running with your gimbal like that. Man. It's all about sacrifice. Waiting for more. THX
Very nice vid! Do you mind me asking what you do for focus? Like when you shoot through the trees, do you use autofocus? Because when I do, it always jumps from background to foreground focus... Or in this first shot when he jumps, where do you set the focus when your rider is not in the shot yet?
Thank you for sharing! I have some close friends that are mountain biking enthusiasts and I can't wait to use these tips to propose doing a video for them!
Awesome video , thanks very much. I Have the Sony A7iii , the 24-105 f4 and the Gimbal Crane Plus . Do you think It will work if I trie those type of shots?
Such bad weather where I am in the UK at the moment, but this has motivated me to find some good in that and go out shooting tomorrow - keep it up mate!
Cool video. I'm curious what kind of changes you make in post when you show the mtb footage from the a73. It looks so much more cinematic. Really impressive how good the footage is when you're running with the gimbal. Solid work 👍
Impressive making of! Guess you need a seventh sense on top of your awesome fitness and feel for the sport to take that quality of footage! Great to watch anyway. Btw the closer rule is by Robert Capa!
Hey I have a quick question we have an RS2 I’m curious how much of a difference using the 24-105 with OSS makes vs a 35 or 16-35 without OSS like does that extra in lenses stabilization really help when running around like this which is exactly what we are going to be doing. Shooting with the a7IV
Hey Cody !! Which would you recommend -[ A6500 or the new APSC Body (if Ever ) with 16 , 30 , 56 1.4 Lenses] OR [A7III with Ziess 55 1.8 and 24-105 F4 ]
So sick! Loved this video! Amaaaaazzingg. Loved watching the BTS. Would’ve liked to hear a bit more about gimbal mode for each shot. Also maybe discuss the overview of exposing the shots?
Yeah man I would like to but this one is already 13min. If the videos are too long people won't watch so I can't talk about EVERYTHING unfortunately. Gimbal mode never changed btw. Just used the standard mode the whole time
@@codyandvictoria Yeah man totally understandable. Loved the style of the video and think it was great, but It would be cool if you talked a little bit more about settings of the camera and such here and there and why you are choosing this aperture or setting white balance throughout. Just an idea. I have a SmallHD focus monitor and really have been wanting to mount it onto my Crane 2 with my sony a7iii...but don't know which connectioin accessory i should get. How you liking yours?
