Sneak the IR LED in next to one of the intake vents at the front, no cutting required that way.

You should add a 5v voltage regulator and connect to the main 12v power rail because the 5v from the fan connector is not recommended to draw 600mA current because is a 5v data line which control the speed of the fan when the main CPU gets hot to Colling down. What you done in this video is called how to don't mod the PS

Hello my friend! There is a ps5 edm-010 that turns on and a screen appears about connecting with the dualsense wire and after pressing the ps button, the console restarts to the same screen, it cannot get into safe mode. I noticed that on this screen all the RAM banks are starting to heat up. Have you ever seen anything like this?

Just get a Wemos D1 Mini board and install WLED on it to control the lights via wifi. You could still keep the IR board in theory to override the color manually.
have checked temperature before and after that case by any chance?
I want to change my plates but not sure if it will work with the stands they have on ebay and Amazon as i don't have the stand that comes with ps5's my ps5 is currently vertical because it has no stand whatsoever. I don't think i can lay it down as it is
You can desolder the ir sensor and wire it to the front/top center of the fan opening and it should work perfect
It would look better if you added the APU temperature sensor and fan speed rpm on the LCD display on the black panel because it is more functional than colorful LEDs illuminating the fan, that's my opinion

Mod everything in the house lol jk but I do love custom mods, I'm actually replacing the LEDs on my midi keyboard because I love blue on all my gear can't stand boring dim white on anything tbh. Great video 👍

there was a QR code on the usb case that normaly enables an app for either wifi connection or bluetooth that you could use instead of the remote

I've had the PS5 since release date ! kept it horizontal from day one and i've still never had a single problem with it ! even added a 1TB NVME drive to it !

Could you not buy a small plug with a socket, like they do with Fuses in cars,
you pull the CD drive cable out, plug your cable into the CD Socket, then plug the CD drive wires into the socket, no sording requred
Maybe out the controller in the middle of the fan so the holes can allow the remote to work.
I got the same rgb kit but with USB from amazon don't have to mess around soldering had mine for nearly 2 years
i would plug usb into a charger which also puts out 5v if you dont want to take up usb on ps5 so probably this would be not be worth extra £60 but this was still a good video phil
Yeah I agree bud. If someone doesn't mind using up a port this is a mod anyone can do. I just prefer to have it all looking clean and integrated personally :)

SO if you dont want RGB you can just drill holes in the right area and you'll get the same result, and save £40
I wouldn't drill holes. Chances are you're going to make it look horrible unless you have a CNC drill or unless you're extremely accurate with your hand drill. I've seen way too many people screw their consoles up doing that

Twisting and tinning wires in advance makes them infinitely easier to solder onto existing solder joints.

You should figure out how to disable the blue LEDs when FIFA is being played, so it's just a certain mixture of red and green

problem with rgb is that it is cool at first but after 30 minutes you start getting eye fatigue and headaches.
