Hi everyone. The tools I used in this video can be found at cmizapper.com/ Here's a link to pre order my liquid metal... www.consolefix.shop/products/thecool3r-liquid-metal-by-thecod3r-2g-10g-syringe-pre-order
Insurance companies here in New Zealand don't take the product that you're claiming insurance on they just leave it with you and tell you do what you want with it they do check it of course to make sure it is not working and it can't be fixed but otherwise they return it to you plus a replacement.
Welcome back Phil. I've missed your videos and especially your live streams. We learn so much from watching your technique in repairing. Great job of troubleshooting as always.
I mean it is reasonable to think the screws would have signs of being open and the tamper sticker is messed up. They have pictures of the freed motherboard. But yeah it's unfortunate that people try to take advantage of others and scam insurance companies thinking no one gets hurt. The contractors premium is going to go up because of this.
I'm guessing they bought the second after the first was damaged, and want to get some money back by scamming Phil's customer out of a new unit that they can sell.
Hey Phil, you've probably been asked this time and time again but what is the make and model number of your microscope? Cheers and thanks for the great content.
You have a wand? You must be a Wizard. Phil "The Potter" Danks. Awesome Repairs and Video! That poor contractor, and PS5. Weasels are everywhere. Thank You.
Man do you repair elite series 1 and elite series 2 Xbox controllers I have one elite 1 the RB button is broke and 2 elite series 2 controllers the RB is broke on them also i don't understand I take care of my controllers no throwing or smacking around thanks
reminds me of a vid artisan electrics put up some time ago, they were working in a customers house and noticed a scratch on a wooden table and one of their team set a pair of gloves on it, the owner of the house seen the gloves on the table and accused the them of causing the scratch, so they ended up having to pay for the table to get a French polish out of no fault of their own
Hope he didn't buy them a brand new console and give them unopened box with cords and controller in it if they only gave him the broken ps5 console itself
Small claims court and then name and shame the fraudulent saddle sniffer, in fact I wonder if the owner didn't commit a criminal offence of fraud at least. Also if I was a contractor I would whisper the name into the ears of other contractors effectively blacklisting which means the console original owner will find it difficult to get folks to work for them and certainly cost them in pocket far more than a PS5.
Sad that this world has become the hotbed of scammers. I work at a bicycle shop where my boss takes away the customer's hard-earned money(most of our local customers live in poverty) then he says they can ride their bicycles. But those bicycles are absolute cr*ppy and obsolete contraptions, with no good quality parts available for them, and a few times their frames were damaged, too. He never allowed me to tell the truth to anyone, because then he would not earn enough money. Now THAT is a BIG scam.
Your customer needs to let his customer watch your video and then call the cops or lawer for theft. And tell them to replace their $500 for the new ps5
Phil you claim to be a money grabbing youtuber... i call BS because you are completely 100% fair with how you charge your customers. Most techs would probably charge the extra labor. Lol. More techs need to be like you and have your ethical standards.
Five minutes in: Naaap, that this is what a board looks like when the HDMI has been changed and it's been used for a bit. Good call, mate. I had a PS5 Slim board in for the 3rd HDMI replacement (talk about regular customer!) since April. Looks just like that x 2 - no matter how much you try to clean it by hand, that's how it looks on those bits of the board. The only mitigation I try these days is to be less frivolous with the flux and try not to spread it about as far when cleaning up.

You can match the images from the other shop to your initial triage footage to prove it is the same console.

You have the patience of a saint. Unfortunately I am NOT and sometimes these would go through my window's.

Sad state of affairs when someone has two PS5s (even if one faulty) then tries to wangle a third, by conning innocent third-party.

I have a feeling this is the case 😅
quality video as usual
There was flux underneath the southbridge. You didn't need to reflow it, You just had to clean with IPA and compressed air.
Great videos, mate.
Pretty sure the technician knows what he is talking about. He doesn't need the help of a non technician.
@@RBKing80 No he is correct mate, flux under southbridge messes up the datalines for the crystal.

Liquid damaged claim is a joke when the console has been factory reset

Brilliant video and great engineer. That's why I sent you mine to you last week .

This is a job for The Coder PI.

In the UK we have a small claims court for such things.

Your not a terrible UA-camr Phil just out of practise making videos lol
Keep us updated on the case in court
You just cant trust some people
Wicked fix! I hope your customer stands up for himself and those scammers get taught a lesson

First 🥇
I think the one that should pay is the previous repair shop, more than anyone else.
