    Apparently this took a long time to record as the Chinese lady and the African man could not stop laughing.

      I've also read that the original line at the end was This is not my suitcase, but it felt it kind of crossed the line so it was changed to This is not my sandwich.

    It’s great satire. Some people are so overly sensitive that they would find this offensive, missing the entire point that the only person who is made to look stupid in this sketch is the translator, not the people sitting there

    The look of pride that she has after each translation and at the end is priceless.

    Enjoyed this. The sketch she does where she sings titanic song to the groom at the wedding is pretty good too, and also the 'rrd nose day' sketch where David Tennant is the new English teacher and Catherine Tate is one of the students 😊

    "Oh you are swedish? like the chef? Hurty burty borty..."
    So who ever say this is Racist should take a new look at Sesame Street. Because they have made this joke since forever :)
    Us in Sweden haven't watched the Swedish chef as kids(or a all). We only know of him through memes and people imitating him(us?).

    Wondering what English would sound like if this sketch was made in another country? Check out the song Prisencolinensinainciusol by Italian comedian Adriano Celentano. It is written in the style of an American pop song, but the lyrics are gibberish, just 'English sounds'.

    I just don't find her funny. At all. This is the guy who sent you the Love Thy Neighbour playlist, so you know I have no issue with the joke per se. I just think she doesn't execute them all that well, and people I have observed just laugh for the sake of it.

    • @kevdenn
      @kevdenn 2 роки тому +4

      It's not her making fun of the people's language or accents. It's more to demonstrate how people perceive the language of other races. She highlights how ignorant some people can be with other people's language. Nothing offensive here.

      I don't understand the people commenting on your post. You simply stated that you didn't find the joke particularly funny, and their responses are to mention that the joke is not offensive (you never said it was) and to talk about the subjective nature of humour (no s**t Sherlock). They really shouldn't have bothered.
