Every time I see people reacting to this I enjoy telling the story about how it took them several times to film this scene because the Asian lady could not stop laughing, knowing they were all laughing about it makes it that much better! x
Nooo... V.W was the very definition of not funny. Someone who laughed at their own jokes mid telling them. If any to avoid, it's her. I'd rather have Ruby Wax even, lol.
Sarah Millican is a really good British comedian. She has loads of videos on her channel. Her men vs women one and girl talk one are really funny. Tbh everything she does is really good.
Catherine Tate has some great sketches. Her 'nan' character sketches are top tier. Strongest female comedian right now in the UK I would say is Sarah Millican, definitely recommend checking her out!
Sarah Millican is fun on shows but her stand-up us pretty much the same as Jo Brand. Or a more modern Victoria Wood. Not bad but a little generic for me. Still I love seeing her on Taskmaster, QI, etc.
You need to see more Catherine Tate - check out her other stuff - she is premier league funny. Nan sketches are brilliant. Dive deep in Ms Tate, you wont regret it.
I love this channel and Lucy is especially funny. I have total respect for Lucy's honesty on things, she will not just say what people want to hear, she will just say it straight and I love that! ♥
You should check out Catherine Tates Nan character as well as school girl Lauren. I agree with Sarah Millican for stand up and don’t forget to watch more Peter Kay and Micky Flanagan.
In terms of women in comedy, Jennifer Saunders, Caroline Aherne, Victoria Wood were all top-tier (last two sadly deceased). Catherine Tate, Sarah Millican, Aisling Bea, Jo Brand all Comedians that work their particular niches well.
Guys it wouldn't surprise me if you get people recommending a fellow Canadian Katherine Ryan she's a very popular stand up comedian so i think your going to end up with a lot of recommendations for her.
Tate is a comic genius and a damned good actress. Check out her Gay Son sketches, where she plays an Irish mother, or Detective Sam Speed. I'm pretty sure that she doesn't do "stand up." However, Victoria Wood used to and also created some hilarious sketch (and serious drama) shows! BTW, you two are great to watch. As amusing as the sketch itself!
I was too young to go to pubs when they still have those pint glasses with handles. (I'm 38 and they didn't have them 20 years ago when I was 18). But I found out you can ask for them in pubs near me. They often reserve them for older folks or those with disabilities who can't grip a standard pint glass. But I love that you have them here.
They're called tankards. I rarely go to the pub now, but I used to ask for a tankard at my local. I just prefer them to the straight glass. Some people in there had pewter tankards reserved.
@@Inaflap genuinely forgot the name tankard. We had them in every pub near me in Scotland when I grew up, but when I was old enough to drink they were replaced with pint glasses. I think you can still ask for them. Some older people or those who can't grip or have a slight impediment in their hand often do here.
Someone already said it , but you both are so refreshing and genuine. It really clear to see. You seem a lovely couple I laughed so hard at the peeping video ! You pair of peepers! I do something similar - lol 😂 i won’t go into details !! Lo I think it’s something thoughtful people do a mix between being super polite , putting others feelings first and so end up acting g like a Wally to not upset /disturb neighbours/visitors etc… But I can relate to what you say re: women not as funny as men . There are more funnier men known and out there but There are few good stand up women. as I’m sure you’ll come to discover ! I’m from Gloucestershire England x I enjoy your reactions 👍
Favourite female comedians: Victoria Wood, Catherine Tate, Sarah Millican, Amy Schumer, Ali Wong, Katherine Ryan, Iliza Shlesinger, Roisin Conaty, Diane Morgan (aka. Philomena Kunk, Mandy) You should definitely check out Philomena Kunk for a brilliant laugh! And Katherine Ryan as she's Canadian... but we've sort of adopted her 🤔😅💕
Catherine Tate's character Helen Marsh is famous for saying 'I can do that' when she is totally useless, here is a clip of other sketches and the 'offensive translator' is in here too but the others are worth watching as well. ua-cam.com/video/yvJplp7OntA/v-deo.html
Really enjoying the clips and the chemistry, just subscribed! You guys should check out a British show called Mock the Week. It took them years before they seriously integrated women into the panel (6 comedians each week, never more than 2 female, usually one or none) and it's a shame because the female comedians on that show are pretty funny. Try a sample of "Scenes We'd Like to See," the final segment of each show where the emcee sets a category and the six comedians take turns riffing on it. I promise it won't be long before you're hooked! (This is of course assuming that you haven't seen the show before...)
I miss my second parents, also I should definitely gift you both a bottle of whiskey when I visit next 😂 I miss both you weirdos! Also Lucy your smile is everything ❤️
In stitches before you even played the clip lolx And i agree, apart from Sarah millican, Catherine Tate and Victoria wood I can't think of any other female comedians that I find funny xxx
It's fascinating, watching reaction videos to this from across the world (me, AU). Everybody's (me included) more subdued in their reactions to some bits than others. What does that say about us?
There are lots of really funny female comedy actors, but I have to agree with Lucy, there are very few female stand-ups that I rate. Ironically, one of the few female stand-ups that I do enjoy is Canadian...Katherine Ryan! 😂
I find most women stand up jokes are mostly limited to relationship disasters and body image. Men use a much larger variety of topics to joke about. From what ive seen
Hi Folks, Au Contraire one of the most popular comedians in the UK is Katherine Ryan who's a fellow Canadian, I don't know if she's as well known in Canada, Another funny (Male) Canadian comedian is Stewart Francis who doe's a great act of one-liners, Also you've given birth to Jim Carrey, Dan Ackroyd, Mike Myers, John Candy, Leslie Nielsen, Mort Sahl et al Here in the UK the list is endless of very funny female comedians including Aisling Bea, Sarah Millican, Jo Brand, Sara Pascoe, Jennifer Sauders & Dawn French, Miranda Hart, Zoe Lyons, Meera Syal ,Sue Perkins, Sandy Toksvig, Kathy Burke Please check some of these out you won't be disappointed Anyhoo All The Best Jim, Surrey (UK not B.C!) Lucy I agree with you !! There are fewer and far between women comedians. I love Wanda Sykes, and handful of others. Seems like generally The comedians are men.
You should definitely check out Would I Lie To You with ppl like Kevin Bridges, Bob Mortimer, James Acaster and other great comedians and Catherine Tates full version of Anger Management.
Lucy is spot on, she could be a funny woman comedian, she had me in stitches. We should be allowed to say what we feel about whatever we want. Its okay to say women comedians are not funny, whats wrong with that, its a little like you can't say no to sex in case you offend the person asking. Ridiculous. Say what you feel and think, you just don't have to be personal or horrible about it.
You must react to catherine Tate's Nan character she is just sublime she also plays a gay man and a petulant school teenager she is the best female comedian England has ever produced in my opinion.🇬🇧🤗🤗🤗🤗
You guys should check out B-Phlat and Tiffany Haddish. They've done some funny stand-up. I agree though, there aren't as many women female stand-up comedians.
There’s s lady from the 60s with her own tv show she’s hilarious too the Nancy show I believe and Cummings or Aubrey Plaza pretty funny and relatable to her taste of raw comedy
I had this video on closed caption but after the wiener, eat your ass and spank reference had to put the headphones on. Try Sarah Millican she is very down to earth and hilarious. Didn't a lot of the Canadian accent/ pernunciation come from Scotland. Oot and aboot is common in Glasgow both beautiful places.

Very good point and to be a successful comic in front of thousands requires, sometimes, NOT being liked or being popular and accepting criticism, some of which, can be personal. You also have to be Brave and very confident which are not traits that come easily, to most Women....
Plus our mischievous nature and how rougher lives at the sharp end. I am a 67-year-old Londoner and most Women are indulged and deferred to and treated with kid gloves and cotton wool so it is not surprising their lives do not give, readily, for mainstream comedy. .For example, Men are not going to be interested or fund every day Female activities funny...."I was doing some knitting and...etc"....:) Also to stand out in front of 5,000 people means you have to be BRAVE and CONFIDENT and accept and laugh off CRITICISM, none of which are female traits.
