warrior raid buff is insane for pug raids that stay booned until after a wipe on the hard boss
Most our core raiders and alts have been offline for a month at least. Partly our fault going 8/8 since week 2 (with DMF/Songflower always optional) and prebanking honor rank 7. All of us are looking forward to coming back to P4.
P3 was the shortest leveling phase with the least amount of new content, doesn’t make much sense why the phase is so long. Easily could have played cata/retail while farming ST if that was blizzard’s reasoning.

It said Hamster but I could swear it wasn't you, so I figured someone was just pretending to be you. Your normal voice is so eloquent normally, so it's hard to even image you making that voice LOL!
I think world buffs and getting them is fine..but i think the unreliability of them is what the problem is. If its a scheduled drop thing once unlocked i think that would be the best system. But having to sit not doing anything hoping for a world buff to drop on less popular servers suck
The question is.. how dead is SoD right now and how dead will it be once P4 drops and who will even care at that point? Because a lot of people have moved onto other things

Ppl don’t even know what dead means. Clearly not dead if I’m lvling and have ppl to group with and ppl are raiding but yea sure sod is dead whatever helps you sleep at night.

Again a comment of the week. Oh man I am awesome! Btw just give us WBs every hour in the Main city like in china. And the player that want Songflower, DMF and DM can get them. Songflower and DMF are no problem, DM is kinda bad the get them, but the pumper can get them if they want to.
It’s hard to compare retail to Classic endgame because retail has endgame gear progression without ever stepping into a high key or mythic raid. The item upgrade system, weekly vault and raid gear vendor makes it easy to get really strong gear without doing the content.
Between the harder bosses and complicated rotations, skill and knowledge is worth way more than item level and consume prep.
I shall jump on the ptr and check out the 2H enhance again after work!
Imo 2H enhance needs a melee ability to replace lava lash/burst that does nature damage.
Hoping we get primal strike from cata at the least!
Retail (former) mythic raider and current casual mythic+ gamer dad here.
I love the Heat Mode and tbh I think it was the best way to approach scaling difficulty. Scaling content without scaling item level is a decent way to offer an extra challenge/incentive.
Molten Core is already an easy raid to PUG, SoD classes and itemization will only further trivialize. The original 60 raids were not tuned for optimized gear and runes.
I personally think they should slightly nerf down the World Buffs, make them persist in death and grant one at the end of a 60 dungeon.
This will keep 60 dungeons continuously ran passed the first 60-phase and give players that come into the game late a chance to find groups.

I think the World Buffs could be awarded from a bi-weekly quest in your faction city. Every three days, you are given a new dungeon to clear.
Once your faction has cleared the dungeon 100 times, Orgrimmar drops a world buff.
Worst thing about losing wbuffs is people's reaction to losing wbuffs

I really respect Arcos because his take is that what makes "vanilla" special and why he loves it are things that will scare away a lot of people. But rather than trying to fix that, he wants his game and if there is only 2k people that want to play it that way that's fine.
Exactly... I respect his opinions, but if they don't make more casual changes I have a strong feeling the player count is going to just keep dropping even more. He says just find a guild that plays same way you want to play, but half of these guilds are just falling apart because they are loosing 3 or 4 raiders a week. I'm fortunate enough to be in a guild with consistent players, but even so we are losing people due to burnout/getting world buffs/buying consumes every week. I want to stand by what he says, but I understand that blizzard is a business and they are not going to attempt to make more seasons or continue supporting classic if the money is not there.
The original era pservs like nostalrius had 7 8k uptime, it was enough for a healthy community, atm sod has 15k on eu and another 15k on us. Of course the majority wont dump their 20 years mounts xmogs and toys farm retail. But is retail worldcraft? Is it a blizzard game? No.
I assume a problem with that is that it doesn't make blizzard any or enough money to justify keeping the servers up
@badwolfxd3593 I think 45,000 raiders paying a sub is plenty to justify keeping the servers up. Now if you said maybe its not worth it for them to put a bunch of Dev hours into it. I could maybe see that argument possibly being valid.
@warcraftreloaded i absolutely agree. But I was referring to what the OP stated at the end: "Even if there's only 2k people playing" that is not enough these days.

I think arcos takes are bad for sod specifically. sod has been built as a more casual friendly version of wow and his more hardcore mindsight i dont think fits in with what the majority of what the sod playerbase is
Yea I think these guys forget casual subs keep the game floating. Its easy for them to want it to be crazy hard because they dont have to worry about losing their jobs when the casuals move on.
@@COskibum05x79 I don't really want things crazy hard, maybe I didn't communicate that well. I think not everyone needs to full clear week 1, or even week 2. I think all players, regardless of skill, need to have something to chase, else they never find a feeling of accomplishment. Doesnt matter if that's 99 parses, full clearing, speedrunning or something completely different.

Bummer that they gave up on SOD, had tons of potential. Hopefully the real vanilla plus is better and they dedicate a team to it.

I would disagree with you. I think SoD has been the most fun I've had since 2005-2006 WoW. Yes, it turned out more exciting than 2019 Classic.
BUT! Like I said, I could see some arguments as valid. But to say "Bummer they gave up on SoD."
Well that's just ignorant and I'd say you haven't been paying attention. Weird number of game changes, in two weeks, for a team that has "Given up."
@@warcraftreloaded To me, "Fumbled" is incursions, lame ST loot, fixing ST 8 weeks in(and rather lackluster fixes to be honest), bugs and whatnot, thats to be expected when you are on a time crunch.
What I'm talking about is the decision makers that be putting SoD on the back burner not giving it a full go. They decided to focus on Cata and retail instead. If SoD was a main focus for them I dont think they would do that. Remember how phase 1 felt? The communication and attention to detail was really dialed in. That's the kind of effort I would hope for because a Vanilla plus would be my ideal wow game to play.
Do you feel they have given SoD full effort in phase 3?
