I'm big Sod fan, but I'm not going to sit here and not see that a lot of people want a fresh classic experience. If you dont like it, then dont play... as someone that just farmed gold and didnt do RMT, GDKP was so much fun making different alts for it and meeting so many guilds looking for people for their GDKPs, when they banned it every guild basically just closed their doors, I wish they could keep GDKP and actually deal with bots...

This might just be me, but interrupting the guests as much as you do, really breaks the flow of the podcast and seems to make the guests less enthusiastic about speaking. Just my 2 cents :)

If we want classic fresh, let us have it. When it comes to games I mostly play older games that I have already tried. I like to just play something I know and not be in a position where I need to constantly learn new things. SoM, Classic+ SoM Cata and beyond are great, I just don't want that to be what I mainly play.

Going to be honest it sounds like these guys should play retail. None of them want to level in classic again. They want new zones and raids. They enjoyed the new abilities in SOD and don't want to go back. Uhhh guys you know they made a game like that right? I don't think Classic is really meant to be an innovative new part of WoW. That's why its called Classic. Yeah obviously the main audience is boomers (also true of retail wow btw they are just closer to 30 than 40). It is meant to be a nostalgia trip people go down for a few months.

I'm glad Classic+ wasn't announced. They still haven't finished SoD, which has always been the test realm for C+. I'd be more concerned if they did announce it before they finished getting feedback on the new content. It'll probably be announced next Blizzcon/Warcraft Direct for 2026. They did some good with SoD, but made at least as many mistakes, so there's a lot to go back and figure out how to do differently in whatever they have for C+ without blowing any big upcoming secrets. If we don't hear anything by this time next year, then I'd be worried it isn't happening. Edit: Jerome said basically the exact same thing 2 minutes (from where I am watching in the recorded video) after I posted this. It just makes sense that they're trying to fix the mistakes and make something genuinely special. SoD wasn't awful until Incursions.

For me classic fresh is just a tbc waiting room. Level 1 or 2 chars to 60 get some professions and gold and play with a discord community. Also love the changes and hope there is more like functioning summon stones or faster flight paths etc. 😊

You guys act like sod isn't a seasonal server. They've said the seasonal servers are acting as a beta for plus. They over did sod with way too many changes. Most people want small changes like the fresh servers are bringing and some nice qol class changes. Crusader strike, summoning locker, less single button rotations. Don't do all this extra shit no one asked for

Dual spec is gunna destroy classics economy so fast on these mega servers. People dont seem to understand basic economics and how it works in a closed system environment like classics ecosystem ,eliminating that gold sink is gunna pump 10s of thousands of gold into the system every day with no where for it to go but the auction house . Normal players , average joes and casual players wont even be able to buy materials or raid consumes and the crafting fees are gunna be off the charts. Players who cant play as much will get cooked and the ones who can can be sweaty and play regularly will control the market and majority of player base will be priced out of the market not able to purchase what they need. With how competitive itll be for farming on these mega servers , casual players and average joes are gunna log on , battle to farm cuz they cant afford buying what they need on AH and waste hours attempting to farm mats that they wont get done then logout. Add in getting ganked and side tracked far more because everyone can insta swap pvp spec and people will quit very quickly. Not to mention the slew of other problems with raiding comps and loot thatll will arise along with service costs from skills. Trickle down effect economics , gunna be a shit show by phase 2 no doubt . This solidified me rerolling alliance on PVE server for the first time. Iv always played horde on pvp servers vanilla through tbc then quit when wrath launches. This time around im now i guess rolling alliance human warrior to raid on a pve server, as the dual spec will at least have a smidge smaller negative impact on a pve servers economy. Still gunna jam and dont mind the other changes but dual spec is rough.

I moved on from tello cuz he started just hammering on sod and fresh and all that negative attitude gets you no where. I appreciate Jerome's optimism because it is just a game why be pessimistic about a hobby.

I really don't get the whole "no one wants to not clear hard mode". You clear what you can or have time for. I only killed two heroic bosses in Cata first phase and missed at least 4 heroics in ICC. In retail the amount of people that are doin mythic raiding is very small compared to the other difficulties. I personally love the difficulty level system where everyone can clear it and pick their challenges.

Why do these guys think AQ is a 5 hour raid? I feel like they havent actually taken part in the raid at all but I know they have. Its a 2 hour raid for dad guilds. They love Naxx but thats way longer and more painful then AQ.

I agree with you bob that SoD has fundamentally ruined OG classic. It’s shown me and I think a large number of people that blizzard can fix class design and actually make things “relatively” balanced. Even though OG classic is getting some changes it will still just be rogue mages and warriors and good healers will be spamming flask of distilled wisdom. It’s nothing new, and I think the majority of sod or at least the people that enjoy it will have no interest in raiding MC while doing AQ.

Bob 's comment about retail makes no sense. I was doing both retail and classic at one point. Currently 6/8 mythic, progging silken Court. I think I'm playing like... 10 hours per week right now, if that (6 for raid, 4 for keys that are optional at this point). I played just as much classic when season 1 retail wasn't current. It was the same hamster wheel grind for both. Get consumes, go raid. One was just easier than the other. Not trying to dunk, but it's really annoying that he continues to make these wrong claims about retail when it's just the same game

I think they do fresh because they can’t design a better game yet. SoD is a good sign the current classic dev team can’t deliver. SoD is like retail, a bloated and over rewarded journey. Which is opposite of what Classic players seem to enjoy but exactly what Retail style players want - lots of spells, lots of loot, handouts so you can get to raid logging faster. There is no risk in releasing Fresh, there is a a rinse and repeat recipe for it (from marketing to technical), and it’s a great boost for shareholders at the end of the year. Hope y’all enjoy your journey!

I'm hyped for classic fresh as I haaaaate aq40. I'll continue to raid log but honestly a big reason for the hype is having something other than raid logging sod. Didn't like war within so will be fun in fresh leveling between raids! Also will be nice going back to vanilla warrior as I think they overdid that class a bit and pushing this 2h rend meta next phase isn't for me!
