the thing you expressed about main tanking making you want to put a lot more work into the character resonates with me a bunch. i have a ton of characters so i usually dont put a lot of work into making sure i have every upgrade but with tanking i have enough experience to know that every little bit of extra defensiveness can make the difference. i'll put more work into them than many people do their mains and then still get told i'm bad cause i wasnt parsing last phase as a prot pali with a shield

kippzos take on rune acquisition is really bad imo. i dont care that not a lot of other players are doing group content, it's essential to have group content otherwise the world is dead. one of the more depressing changes from vanilla to tbc was making basically every area with elite mobs except for dungeons nonelite so people could solo them more and that shit makes the world go so quiet so fast, having group content tied to powerful and critical player kit upgrades is one of the easier ways to make the leveling experience less lonely even if it isnt all the common for people to actually successfully group up for them

I love to see SoD back on the Menu. Really missed a good discussion about SoD and a bit of Era. I play on a PvE Server and I really recommend it to every Player, that doesnt have enough Time to get killed in the open World like me. I like PvP, but when I want to pvp, not when I want to go the a Raid or a Dungeon. Hopefully more and more Players will understand that with every Fresh start.

our last ST was super scuffed too with a bunch of people SRing on tier, i dont understand if you're planning on maining something next phase, wouldnt you gear it up ahead of time? at least everyone in our raid unbooned lol

The problem I have with people who complain about layers, is that the alternative is to cap servers at very small numbers. Which inherently doesn't work in the way the game is played today, because people play the game for a while and then move on, if you're doing that across 50 capped servers.... 48 of them will be completely dead in weeks. if you wanted to get on "the good server" where all the streamers or whatever are trying to get on, you'll have to sit in a que for 50 hours in order to play. Yeah it was great when there were small server communities, but that just doesn't exist anymore. get rid of the layers and you'll sit in que all day.

Never been so glad to play a PVE server. I have always played PVP servers but just got a feeling and agrend told us go PVe if you wana play the game in p1

I came back, and I've been taking it easy on the leveling. You guys are right. This may be the only time i have to a viable enhance/ tank. I may not be happy with the changes they made to my class, but at the end of the day, i am still having fun, especially with the pvp. Im on lonewolf horde if there are any guilds recruiting returning players, haha

not all or even most gdpks make you flash gold, that's just for people who're trying to fish for whales, and that pales in comparison to the gatekeeping that occurs with the alternative which seems to be players making up metrics to measure each other with

THe big misconception with talents being taken away in MoP was that they were actually just gone, but in reality back then they even said it that they just added all of those talents that you picked every time, into the base class and created the new talent tree to just give you those flavor options that you would pick for different situations. It wasn't until WoD that they pruned most of the stuff that was automatically added to each class, but kept the same talent tree.

ive gotten bis in every phase of sod on 4-5 characters pretty easily the gear just dropped to much bfd was the only phase that took me longer talwar didnt drop for my warrior tell 2 weeks before phase 2

GDKP would be fine, if they banned people that bought gold. People love GDKP because its way more fun to farm your gold by doing something you enjoy doing anyway (raiding) but you have to take into account where the majority of that gold is coming from, which is almost exclusively gold buying websites. If getting rid of GDKP is the best solution that blizzard can do to get rid of the gold buying websites? then I'm all for banning them across the board.

a huge part of the barrier to entry is player made gatekeeping. i was making fun of people phase one gear checking bfd as one step removed from gear checking before hogger because all classic content is easy but now everyone is pretending they're a big serious parser even in random pugs. i can already tell that before molten core players are going to be expecting everyone around them to all be decked out in their dungeon sets and all the relevant crafted stuff now that raid mats can drop outside the raid and that sucks. i remember coming into the game in tbc classic and wanting to get up to the point where i could play with a friend and while a lot of the extra time i took getting to that point was self inflicted, making alts and playing around with low level professions, once i got to max level, i couldnt even hop into catchup raids, i had to do heroic circuits until i was allowed to grace the halls of karazan. by the time i'd finally caught up we were starting to do wrath prep and the guild my friends were in were so snobbish about their numbers that i never even got to see a sunwell or BT as a spriest. this shit is miserable and it props up bad players who get rewarded for gatekeeping because no classic boss is so difficult that it cant be cheesed with more damage

as much as i dislike dwarves they really do have great casting animations and probably a few of the best hair options in the game

SoD numbers will spike for a couple weeks to maybe 3x what they have now then fall off a cliff again. It has all been too slow rolled out. Most that left are not coming back. There isn't enough "new" content to justify the effort imo (1 new boss in MC is a joke). Degens will stick around but thats ~10% of the WoW players. The other 90% will be playing Cata or Retail versions. Maybe they will put serious company resources towards a real Classic+ in a couple years. They are obviously not staffed to make/keep SoD on the front burner anymore. Cool idea but ended up a bit too undercooked in the end.

I just wish if they wanted to have people play a different spec then buff that spec, don't nerf the build you've been working on for months.

I just dont get why they didnt implement certain mechanics of SoM in SoD. For example no world buffs or working dungeon summoning stones. I never had more fun in classic than during SoM - Just doing what you want, not having to bother with these world buffs each week

You've been all throughout Ashenvale without seeing Demon Fall Canyon? Both paladin and warlock rune qs take you there. It's the site of Grom's statue. And the big weap we had spoiled clearly is the half of Mannoroths glaive that's floating in the air in one of the canyons.

wrt damage vs utility as a former spriest main i never cared about damage. i liked being there as a mana battery and keeping up the shadow damage debuff. i know most players arent like that but i'd rather be focusing on assisting the team instead of pretending i'm in a competition, i find it much less stressful and way more fun. i think it's fine if these classes suck on damage, i think they just need to design raids that punish bad raiders who dont understand the value of utility
