SoD has given me the classic world I love, paired with new and interesting class design and feel. There have been ups and downs, but the developers have been on the players side more often than not and I respect they are allowing us to shape the game we want. Things like learning to solo devilsaurs, trying to earn gold, has been a fun and challenging journey that has added so much depth to the game for me because the gold making meta is not the same as it was due to all the changes. So there is a lot of trial and error and theory you test to see what will work. I don’t know what the future of SoD will bring but I’m here for the ups and downs because I believe in the experiment of this season and the general sense of new and exciting things to a classic game I love.
I get the feeling Bob was the kid to give his younger sibling a controller that wasn't plugged in when they wanted to play the game with him.
"Dang, John! You really kicked that guy's butt! Good job!"
Or the sticky old controller
Appreciate the shoutout there and using my comment. Funny thing is im sitting in booty bay now waiting on a world buff to drop for my raid this week womp womp
Thank you for the invite man, this was insane and a ton of fun.
"My favorite bunch of misfits hanging together what could go wrong?"
You've been all throughout Ashenvale without seeing Demon Fall Canyon? Both paladin and warlock rune qs take you there. It's the site of Grom's statue. And the big weap we had spoiled clearly is the half of Mannoroths glaive that's floating in the air in one of the canyons.
One person just has to do the mechanic on Electrocutioner boss in gnomer. You just have all ranged/healers in one spot and have the soaker run to another spot and run in and out. The soaker chains with melee.
The fight was figured out and cheesed on from a very early point on.
Listening to Bob reminicse on the good ol' days about the string of gripphons made me feel really sad lol. It's okay man, they'll make classic fresh again for you sometime soon hopefully, but sod just isnt what you're after I think. What you're gonna see come phase 4 is a lot of people that have settled on classic era, retail, or cata. Sod is in such a weird place, they cant decide what they want it to be. Super modern and more challening like retail? Super slow and immersive like classic? The devs just dont have a clue in my estimation after playing the 3 phases that have been out.
SoD will eventually be merged into 2 servers. 1 pvp 1 pve. P1 was the best obviously but when everyone left for Cata in P3 my server felt a lot better. The people that stayed were chill and seem to really like it. If the goal of SoD is to test new things then they have a playerbase to do that. If the goal was to have a large playerbase then they have failed.
Some truth to this. I can't wait for War within to drop because I feel like you'll get a more classic focused community on SOD @@brandonwilson4740
Make the currency for world buffs have a vendor at the raid entrance that you can buy WBs but only if you've collected them previously.
And stick a 4 hour CD on the purchase of them
beatboxintro killin it , damn
It gets me hyped up every time I hear it.
On the note of deadly brew (when you said it's seen it's day was the silence deadly haha )
I don't know why the hoof blizzard haven't made poisons just scale as baseline. Cos deadly brew as Simonize said is just so intensely strong.
Great vid uhh I play on a steam deck docked just crashed on boat.
Just here for Bob's shit takes and he never disappoints
I am with u Bob, each class should do different damage. I love variety. In case each class does the same damage everyone either plays the class, that is the easiest to play, or the class wih the most utility. What is the point?
did you mean to say "variety"?
@@TankingPriestVideos yes, ty
Me and Simonize were the only positive people in the comment section of that video lol
wrt the dungeon they teased, it's the place in ashenvale with all the demons and the grave of gromash hellscream, we saw 3 new places added in the ptr, demonfall canyon, the tainted scar and the place up in azshara with the other world boss. the tainted scar is presumably for the instance for kazzak and demonfall canyon is the name of that place in ashenvale also we saw the ghost of gromash in the trailer
Its going to be an incursion-like dungeon. Its pretty clear that the devs have limited development time.
@@brandonwilson4740 what's an incursion-like dungeon mean?
@@zianitorii get the feeling we will enter a portal similar to nightmare incursions and there will be mobs and bosses in it but the atmosphere will be the same as the zone you're in. Just spitballing tho
Is the new dungeon not in Felwood?
@@TankingPriestVideos nope
I just dont get why they didnt implement certain mechanics of SoM in SoD. For example no world buffs or working dungeon summoning stones. I never had more fun in classic than during SoM - Just doing what you want, not having to bother with these world buffs each week
Would like to see Aff spec for locks be buffed, tired of playing Destro all the time.
Hopefully boss fights become mobile enough to fully take benefit of Affl spells.
wrt damage vs utility as a former spriest main i never cared about damage. i liked being there as a mana battery and keeping up the shadow damage debuff. i know most players arent like that but i'd rather be focusing on assisting the team instead of pretending i'm in a competition, i find it much less stressful and way more fun. i think it's fine if these classes suck on damage, i think they just need to design raids that punish bad raiders who dont understand the value of utility
I just wish if they wanted to have people play a different spec then buff that spec, don't nerf the build you've been working on for months.
SoD numbers will spike for a couple weeks to maybe 3x what they have now then fall off a cliff again. It has all been too slow rolled out. Most that left are not coming back. There isn't enough "new" content to justify the effort imo (1 new boss in MC is a joke). Degens will stick around but thats ~10% of the WoW players. The other 90% will be playing Cata or Retail versions. Maybe they will put serious company resources towards a real Classic+ in a couple years. They are obviously not staffed to make/keep SoD on the front burner anymore. Cool idea but ended up a bit too undercooked in the end.
This whole podcast is Horde players lol. The vibe in alliance is pretty different ngl. People are pretty over getting screwed with pally VS shaman. I’m a rogue player thru and thru, and even I wish they had given alliance Shamans just so people would shut up about it lol.
You get a lot of tryhard people on Horde cause of Undead racial. The PvP atmosphere is the opposite on the Alliance.
@simonizeshow if a pug group youre joining is expecting you to have world buffs and consumes than the barrier to entry for raiding is completely unreasonable. why set this totally dogshit expectation for people? i run a pug guild and we never have and never will require anything like that to show up for a raid because we usually assume we're competent enough raid leads to cause any group to clear content. WBs for pugs is a terrible idea in the first place because everyone's going to be so much more likely to leave after a wipe. all you're really doing is giving people more clearance to gatekeep for the sake of gatekeeping
also getting WBs has never been "putting in the work" no need to jerk ourselves off about buying summons
No world buffs on cata :^)
for me warriors giving a WB after a wipe or at the start of a raid is the only WB buff i care about. people who show up to a pug raid expecting to have everyone pop WBs because they're trying to parse are completely braindead and also the vast majority of players dont need all the WBs because the majority of players shouldnt be trying to parse. mediocre gamers dont need to call themselves "pumpers" because they're willing to waste precious hours of their lives to get some buffs that cover up how bad they are at the game. people shouldnt be pushed towards crutches and WBs carry trash players and allow them to act like minor tyrants if they end up being in charge of anything
Warcraft Logs should invalidate any log with world buffs. This would allow blizzard to rune raids accordingly and then casual gamers can use world buffs to help them clear. I believe that is what world buffs were intended for
@@brandonwilson4740 people who think warcraft logs is a useful way to evaluate raiders show off their ignorance about the game
