- I finally got out for my first overnight in my new car camping build. It worked out perfectly and is the exact balance between functional and simplistic that I was looking for. I had a great night cooking up a steak sandwich and enjoying the outdoors. See ya on the road next week!
Really late to the party on this one cause of my own travels. Life is like that sometimes. Since you're already well into your second week on the road at this point, the best option for travel is go wherever you want and we'll sit back and enjoy the journey. Stay safe out there, wherever it is you wonder.
Matt start where you want to start it's your trip we're just here for the journey. And you won't catch no flack about the onion's from me. Because I'm the same way onion's don't sit well with me also. oh and love the set up on the vehicle way cool.

A 12volt frig is a total game changer. I’ve had two since 2020 (one for day trip drinks and a larger for longer trips). Would NEVER go back to ice chest.

The Volkswagen you passed reminded me of one my friend had in the mid 90's. His was purple and sat a bit lower to the ground. Such a fun car. Your camper build looks perfect! Love the storage drawers

Go to Key West! Careful in Homestead!! Then drive across the Everglades towards Tampa. Take the 275 into St. Petes…. The sky bridge is AWESOME!!!
If you can, take the coastal route through Alabama, Mississippi & Louisiana… not I10 but literally coastal. (Pelican Island, Cameron, take the ferry into Galveston…etc). Then wake your way to the AlCan…

Key West doesn't like car camping FYI. The police look for people sleeping in their cars and will ticket. It's actually a jailable offense there.

One more note about Alaska. Get the Mile Post book. It has every inch of roads in Alaska and nearby Canada provinces.
Difference between the green one and the fold and go….compactness but you may want to get a windscreen…saves on the propane! Fun times ahead!
Good to see you on the move. I went up to Prudhoe Bay a few summers ago. Flew to FBX and rented a four-wheel drive suburban. Drove up and back in 4 or 5 days. Amazing scenery especially by the Gates of the Arctic. Road can be a bit nasty. Kind of rule of thumb is do it before mid-August, bugs not so bad. In the summer months be prepared for mosquitoes in mass. Take your time. Stop at the different places, keep your tank filled there are only three places to get gas. Have some fun. If you get near Sitka, give me a heads up. You will need to take the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System; they are not too kind to Sitka. Or fly. I travel a bit. Cheers, Jeff b

florida is too hot right now, best to wait until winter when the temps drop. maybe you could do the north american road trip in reverse, starting in alaska in summer and make your way to key west for the winter.

I traveled like you in a '09 hyundai set up very similar. i cut the legs and one end off a long dresser and had countertop and drawers slide out the back. still works well! I found everytime i made a travel plan, a squirrel ALWAYS popped up and i ended up following a general route with lots of smaller trips to see and do things. Just step on the gas. 😀

Hey Matt, glad you build works so well for you, you did a great job! The steak sandwich looked really good! As far as your itinerary, go where your mind leads you, it is your trip and your videos will definitely make it interesting! When it comes to Alaska, make sure to allow enough time to go and see what you want and extra for the unknown you will find along the way. Just make sure to head back south early enough you don’t get caught in any bad weather! Looking forward to your next video!

An option would be go up to Washington and take the ferry to Alaska.
Matt. I just wanna say you are not alone in hating onions. I get looks when I say no onions but they don’t sit well with me and I hate the sound the make when you chew them 🤮. Anyways great video and looking forward to all the videos coming this summer

I got you on the fat butttttttttttt - I would like to suggest you cook it with the fat and or bone and cut it off before you eat it. Makes a much better steak. But then again, it’s your channel and your body. So just do you. I like your content and therefore have subscribed. Also understand that comments help with your algorithm. 😉❤
