Steve had to drive that far almost 300 km for that meat loaf to cook. If Steve drove any further he would have been at Buttle Lake ( The kids and I call it butt hole lake). New Campground looks great, nice spot for a winter camp. Steve has the nack to make cheap living fun. Enjoyed. Just before the last scene I was thinking having done what he had done , a night at the Coast Hotel Discovery Inn in Campbell Rier would be nice and then bam, there you were.

Steve, dealing with loss is the most challenging thing a person can go through, especially during the holidays. I lost my mother when I was a boy, the day before Thanksgiving. Twenty years later I still get teary eyed just thinking about her. I can’t say it gets easier with time but you do eventually learn to accept it for what it is. Please know in your darkest of days that you are loved and admired by so many people. Take care Steve. Colton,
I felt every word. My dad passed away in 2019 and every holiday and every dinner I cook just bring back memories. I know the less I talk about it and just continue living it gets a lil easier over time but man the pain is still there. I almost teared up watching Steve eat that meatloaf and green beans. I miss those dinners with my dad. Anything can trigger those emotions but it get easier over time. I hope we all become stronger 🙏🏽💪🏽❤️
I lost my mom in 2022. I still get teary eyed. I miss her very much. Mother’s Day 2022 was the last holiday I had her. We didn’t get to celebrate it as we usually do because she was in the hospital. I lost her shortly after. Needless to say Mother’s Day is a bit tough for me.

Hi ya Steve. I ran the winter roads (ice roads) for 8 years and myself and most of the drivers I worked with used those lunch pail stoves. A few years back, and ours were shaped just like a lunch pail, hence the name we gave them. Mine went to 290 degrees. I'd pick up 3 lb. pork or beef roasts to cook in it. At that temp it took about 2 hours to cook them. Also put a bit of potatoes, carrots and onions in with the meat. As much as we could squeeze in. Get 2 or 3 drivers with them and all cooking something different, we ate better than most restaurant's out in the middle of nowhere. Once you get the hang of it Steve, you'll really enjoy it. The pamphlet you got with it should tell you the temp it goes to. Enjoy your meat loaf and be safe.
If I am ever at a low point in my life I can escape with Steve to a peaceful place. Thank you Steve for your service to me and all of us who kindly enjoy you.
I wanna say thank you Steve for being you Several years agoIt I lost my wife and my daughter in 2009That was the last year I went camping The situation happened where I tried to save my daughter and my wife But I couldn't For 8 years I blame myself Easy way to say I need up in the hospital Many times in those 8 years and I was diagnosed special needs It destroyed me Mentally About 2 years ago I found your UA-cam channel It reminded me of campingThen it gave me the memories of my daughter And my wifeOf us camping You help me More than you could Ever imagine A year and 1⁄2 ago I got an healing pathway for myself When I started the I could go outside without nobody's help I could go nowhere without nobody's helpAnd I had special people next to me help me with through my insurance I just wanna tell you today thank you I am going grocery shopping Without any help And I have actually turn the stone I'm helping other people That was kind of in my situationAnd that's what Brought me back to life I make a plans To start hikingAnd And I make a new plans trying to sleep all night long Outside next to my campfire Will be the 1st timeI went camping15 years Thank you for being you
I know in the past you've expressed how you feel like you always have to one up your last big stealth camp. I'm here to Camp with Steve, no matter how simple or extravagant. Came for the crazy camps. Stayed for the simple ones.
We have a mesa and I haven't camped up there yet, mostly because there is a bear up there. But I suppose Steve camps around a lot of bears too. We put a camera up on the mesa and captured a picture of the bear. I didn't even know we had bears.
For those that missed it, Steve posted a note on Instagram that some things came up he had to deal with and he will be back when he can. I hope Steve is ok. Between losing his wife and recently his mother, he has a lot to deal with. He seems to be the kind of person hit hard by these kinds of things. Hang in there, we are rooting for you!
His post on instagram one day ago: "Hey everyone, I had to return to Alberta a few weeks ago due to an urgent situation. I will give an update on what’s going on as soon as I am able to. Friends and family always have to come first for me, sorry for the radio silence. Cheers all!"
Sorry Steve, you are stuck with me. I figured after the flu and with the holidays you deserved a break. Not to say that you weren't missed. Your videos make a difference. They don't make world peace but do give us a place to come and take shelter. Thanks for being here for us Steve.
I found Steve's channel my first week of college. I was all alone in my dorm, out on my own for the first time, and stumbled across this channel. It was something that gave me comfort in such a new and vastly different environment that I was adjusting to. Here I am in my final semester of college and have not missed an upload yet. Nothing is more relaxing than getting something to eat and watching Steve for 20 or 30 minutes. Truly one of the most humble, wholesome, and genuine guys on this planet. Thanks for being who you are and being a source of entertainment and relaxation for so many of us.
Steve, i think it’s a testament to your character that while struggling with the loss of your loved one your still willing to help out a fan with his loved one. Your videos always makes me forget about my issues for half an hour. I hope we do the same for you. God bless you and don’t give up.
Man the fact that you’re helping someone else ask a person to marry him is just an absolute testament to the type of man you are. We all love ya Steve and we’re here just like you’ve been here for us. Thank you Steve.
I don't know any UA-camrs who can upload a video, and 40 minutes later, have nearly 20 thousand views. You're an absolute living legend. Steve, thank you for doing what you do
Think the vast majority of subscribers are in it just to see you doing something you love, Steve. A break once in a while just makes the uploads more special. I've noticed a few of my favorite channels have been slowing down the uploads to focus more on their own quality-of-life, and I, for one, would be very happy if that was part of the reason for the less frequent videos. You owe us nothing, we owe you everything.
I am an eagle scout and unfortunately that taught me that camping is Hiking for 8 hours, sleeping cold on rocky ground, 8 hours hiking back in the morning. I hated camping, very, very much. Steve is helping me to open back up to the idea...
@@sfurulesthat’s terrible lol. Sounds more like survival training than camping. It can be fun though and there’s no laws against using some modern amenities

yea, guy would've made a crazy good actor i think, has the voice, has the screen presence, even the fkken great one liners like Schwarzenegger had back intheday . one could watch him all day in different genres, but mostly in action-adventure flicks. And that crazy neighbour character woukd have made a perfect sidekick/mad scientist type supporting role in any of Steve's would be movies. Speak for myself, i'd watch them all.
Miss your weekly videos but also understandable, life happens. Looking forward to seeing Crazy Neighbor again as well, hope he's still recovering from his injury ok.
I have been checking everyday like most for weeks now and it’s bloody great to see you Steve! My 4 year old son won’t go to bed at night unless he gets to watch an episode from your channel 🙏🏻. I have no doubt that you get messages like this all the time. My 7 year old daughter and I watch and re-watch your videos all the time. They, and you, are a source of great joy and comfort to me. It’s so rare that we get to see the ‘real deal’ anymore in this world. You are the definition of a real, wonderful person. Thank you so much. Always remember how many of us genuinely care about you, a person we’ve never even met. 😊
Aw! The proposal was so sweet! I'm so happy you're doing better! Missed seeing you and hearing your great voice! It will be 12 years this May since I lost my husband of 18 years and my daughter and I still miss him terribly! John's brithday was on December 12th, so Christmas is always tough. My daughter usually makes her dad's favorite cake for his birthday, but this year she had her hands full chasing around her 8 month old miracle baby (her husband survived cancer and a kidney transplant before she finally got pregnant). I want to tell you that it gets "easier" somehow but , honestly, you just keep moving, You're doing fantastic! Thank you for sharing your adventures!

I first discovered Steve when I was deathly ill and binged his videos while I recouped. Definitely a Cozy feeling, even when I couldn't bare to keep my head turned towards the TV, just his voice narrating his adventures was enough to keep me afloat a little bit longer each day. So thankful that I found him. ❤️
And those other channels funnily enough make those impatient complaints even less valid since there is still other similar content to watch if Steve takes some time off due to an illness etc. 🤔😁

We stayed 2 nights . When it was time to pack up and come home , neither of us wanted too 😂

I love you Steve. And whatever pain it maybe. Know your not hurting alone brother. We all have a story and you my friend are a winner for picking yourself up the way you did. You are a legend Steve. In so many different ways and for so many different reasons. Thank you Steve for being you. The second I seen you channel a year ago broke me. But now that life has moved on and we've moved forward and opened doors to more positive opportunity. I'll say it has been a pleasure to have your support, wisdom, and encouragement over the past year. And having you videos to look forward to makes my life just that little bit more enjoyable. And thank you for being apart of that Steve. We love you ❤❤
Never ever would I get tired of you. You are an amazing man. Please always remember that because you truly are. Some times parts of the year are a lot harder, and if people can't understand that, then it's their loss, not ours. For me and the rest of my family, we love you completely. We are here and are not going anywhere. You do what you have to do. Just remember there are a lot of people that do care about you, and we want nothing but the best for you. I wish I could be there non other than to give you a big hug and to tell you in person how much you are appreciated and loved by all. Steve, just wanted to say thanks for making a video not that there isnt enough re-runs I could watch ...😊 and have many times. I started watching tour channel when my life fell apart and in discovering your channel years ago now, I found peace an escape and got to know another human beings struggles in life. Took the focus off me and put it on someone else and it made me realize I could do that everyday and go on living with purpose. Ok I'm here because it occurred to me that I haven't seen a video from Steve in awhile, and I see I'm not the only one. But some of these comments, holy sh*t, guys. Steve is one person, working all by himself. If you follow multiple creators on YT and elsewhere, as I'm sure you all do, you have to have noticed that an individual person can't put out content on a regular schedule, 24/7/365 no matter what's going on behind the scenes. Only an organization with multiple people can do that. Content creators need a break from time to time, especially when they've had major upsets in their life like Steve has. Cut the guy a break, and cut the rest of us a break before you post inconsiderate comments, please. It's gratuitously unkind to Steve, and it takes away from the experience for everyone.

Houseless, not homeless
"glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife, smells like meatloaf in here". Paradise by the Dashboard Light.🙂
great play on words, and editing!!!
Haha! Nice, the younger folks don’t get it. Cheers.
I was about to comment on it also. Got a good chuckle there.
I always secretly figured Steve as a Meat Loaf fan.
I lol'd at that 😂
Hi ya Steve.
I wanna say thank you Steve for being you Several years agoIt I lost my wife and my daughter in 2009That was the last year I went camping The situation happened where I tried to save my daughter and my wife But I couldn't For 8 years I blame myself Easy way to say I need up in the hospital Many times in those 8 years and I was diagnosed special needs It destroyed me Mentally About 2 years ago I found your UA-cam channel It reminded me of campingThen it gave me the memories of my daughter And my wifeOf us camping You help me More than you could Ever imagine A year and 1⁄2 ago I got an healing pathway for myself When I started the I could go outside without nobody's help I could go nowhere without nobody's helpAnd I had special people next to me help me with through my insurance I just wanna tell you today thank you I am going grocery shopping Without any help And I have actually turn the stone I'm helping other people That was kind of in my situationAnd that's what Brought me back to life I make a plans To start hikingAnd And I make a new plans trying to sleep all night long Outside next to my campfire Will be the 1st timeI went camping15 years Thank you for being you
Hey man. Just wanted to say you’re awesome. Keep it up we are all so proud of you. You’re strong and you’ve got this!
Hang in there Carroll!!! YOU will help many hurting folks!!!! Thank YOU so very much!!!! 👃👃👃👃✌️🇨🇦
Thank you, carolljoey! I'm so glad for you finding happiness.
Courage is a beautiful thing. And you are a beautiful person. Thanks for sharing your very special story.
❤ Light and love ❤️
You're the chilliest and sweetest guy, Steve, how could we ever lose patience with you? Glad to see you out camping again.
I know in the past you've expressed how you feel like you always have to one up your last big stealth camp. I'm here to Camp with Steve, no matter how simple or extravagant. Came for the crazy camps. Stayed for the simple ones.
I agree completely. We're here for Steve, not just the stealth!
Exactly. And this made me want to go do a simple camp just like this and leave all my outdoor adventure gear at home and just be.
We have a mesa and I haven't camped up there yet, mostly because there is a bear up there. But I suppose Steve camps around a lot of bears too. We put a camera up on the mesa and captured a picture of the bear. I didn't even know we had bears.
Simple does it for me. I’m not very advanced ❤
We will NEVER lose patience with you Steve! You are a true hero of stealth camping and UA-cam 🤠
I think we all understand.
I have, boring as. Eating food in a car , amazing.
His post on instagram one day ago:
"Hey everyone, I had to return to Alberta a few weeks ago due to an urgent situation. I will give an update on what’s going on as soon as I am able to. Friends and family always have to come first for me, sorry for the radio silence. Cheers all!"
Thanks seeing thought something happened to him 👍
Sadly, many are mourning the loss of loved one's lately. I hope Steve is well. God bless 🙏
Probably taking a nice break
Thanks for the update. Wishing the best for Steve!
Steve is going to cook a meatloaf as he drives around. That's the greatest thing I've heard all week. Good to see you, buddy.
Sorry Steve, you are stuck with me. I figured after the flu and with the holidays you deserved a break. Not to say that you weren't missed. Your videos make a difference. They don't make world peace but do give us a place to come and take shelter. Thanks for being here for us Steve.
Steve the matchmaker 😅
I hope Anna said yes Matt, how could she not when Steve the legend was directly involved 😊
Congratulations 🎉
The ziplock bag idea is gold!
I use all size bags to store stuff on motorcycle , even a garbage bag in case my gallon jugs o water leak, and they do .
“Glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife” and quick cut to the meatloaf cooking!👍🏼🤣 I really enjoyed that.
Was hoping someone else caught that. I laughed so hard at that transition
@@billnad Not sure why I found that so entertaining but let me sleep on it and I give you an answer in the morning if I can figure it out!🫡
When he cracked that egg over the middle of the seats I almost had a heart attack.
Steve is a national treasure, not just Canada, every country.
International treasure
A global treasure
Love that you brought enough batteries to get that time lapse of the snow on your car melting while you slept.
I don't know any UA-camrs who can upload a video, and 40 minutes later, have nearly 20 thousand views. You're an absolute living legend. Steve, thank you for doing what you do
Whenever he posts its such a treat !
30k now, at an hour since posting! Love to see it!
@@jj_Daltonhe's literally the only UA-camr I have notifications on for! 💯💗
It says 1 hour and 33,857 view, that is amazing. I found myself watching and totally absorbed in the video. That doesn't happen that much for me.
Steve is great, him and Beardmeatsfood bring in serious views seriously fast :)
Some troops were not as great as others, our only long hikes were those who willingly signed up for them, otherwise CAMPING COOKING AND FISHING was the way for us.@@remb9614
@KoH4711 Very well said.
yea, guy would've made a crazy good actor i think, has the voice, has the screen presence, even the fkken great one liners like Schwarzenegger had back intheday . one could watch him all day in different genres, but mostly in action-adventure flicks.
If you ever fancy a trip over to Scotland 🏴 we have some of the best wild camping laws in the world! And the scenery is stunning even if I say so myself.
From far across the pond, we appreciate you Steve ❤️
“The headlights are glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife…”
“Smells like Meatloaf in here!”
Looks like this car camping is pure Paradise…by the Dashboard Lights!
And better yet, no car noise under a bridge! LOL
Thanks man! I wondered why Steve said that and thought it sounded cool af. Now I know why!!!
I’m in the comment section looking for this 😂
I remember (unwisely) playing the Bat Out of Hell album over and over again on full blast on my headphones when I was a teenager in the late 70s.
Love that song❤
Steve might just be the most chill guy on UA-cam. His videos never get old. Stealth camping or otherwise his charisma shines through.
I see a base-level of anxiety there, but he rises above it beautifully.
Fr
I appreciate that he doesn't start his videos with the sound levels on max as he shouts "WHAT'S UP UA-cam!"
Another easy meatloaf recipe.... hamburger meat, box of stuffing mix slightly crushed, 1/8 or 1/4 ketchup, 2 tbs mustard, salt and pepper. ❤ Love Camping With Steve 🍁
I have no doubt that what you do, and being in the spotlight, can take its toll on you. It makes me all the more appreciative of you. Always remember how many of us genuinely care about you, a person we’ve never even met. 😊
Well said! Some vitamin Steve!
What a beautiful comment. I hope Steve sees this.

Steve you never have apologize or explain yourself. Your core youtube family will always be here to sit by a campfire or share a stage 2 with you when you are ready to share. I don't comment on many things, but this I felt I needed to. Im having a fever right now but theres something super cozy about the idea of being sick, tucked like a burrito in a blanket in bed while watching your videos, I love it
I first discovered Steve when I was deathly ill and binged his videos while I recouped. Definitely a Cozy feeling, even when I couldn't bare to keep my head turned towards the TV, just his voice narrating his adventures was enough to keep me afloat a little bit longer each day. So thankful that I found him. ❤️
if someone lost patience with steve they can move right along to another channel. Steve is an absolute gem of a human being.
And those other channels funnily enough make those impatient complaints even less valid since there is still other similar content to watch if Steve takes some time off due to an illness etc. 🤔😁
Yep I already have.!! @Campingwithsambananas
I must say, Steve, that your mixing up a meatloaf inside a zip-lock bag is pure genius !

I miss the adventure really.
I wasn't addict homeless I was traveling and working at temp agency's to see more of canada. Homeless.
I stayed in my old tent most of the week , every Friday id get a night a A hotel to clean myself up and sleep cozy for a night . Then it was on the bus / train onto the next city.
I want to do it again sooooo badly but I'm a dad to young children and just can't find the time to anymore
However, my eldest son came along when I found a spot on a bike trail last year .
We stayed 2 nights .
When it was time to pack up and come home , neither of us wanted too 😂

I have to say as much as I love the camping videos, Steve as a person, the kind hearted person he is, the amount he cares for not just other people but for nature and the environment as well. I am completely in awe of him and just watching his videos just makes me want to be a better person in general! the very fact he has dealt with the crappy hand life has thrown at him over the last year or two and still continues to be such a positive person just shows how good some people in this world can be

What an influence you are to many of us. I'm 58 years old and have a decent career as a contract engineer. I admire the freedom you have! I too have spent many nights without a hotel.
Great work getting the Meat Loaf lyrics written into your commentary Steve. It ties in well with the marriage proposal. Congratulations to Matt and Anna(possibly).
