"Make your food boring and life interesting!" It is sad for many of us how we have let our lives be run by the obsessions of food! Instead of eating healthy food to nourish our bodies, we have turned to unhealthy food to nourish our souls. Great lesson :~)

    • @SpudFit

and in realtiy we're just fooling ourselves because the unhealthy food actually does the opposite of nourish our souls.

You have a good point Mindy but the problem isn't food. The problem is almost 90% of people in this country do not drink water. Soft drinks are what's killing people and giving them disease not food. This is because every organ in your body relies on water for it's many functions without it we get sick. Most food has a lot of good things we need. Fatty food can cause weight gain but it doesn't cause diseases. Our blood is 95% water with a little salt added in. When you aren't drinking enough water the your blood eventually starts turning acidic, as with any acid once it reaches your DNA that's when health problems begin. Water is also the only thing that flushes out all of the harmful toxins, and sugars out of your body when you urinate. 95% of all diseases not related to physical injury are caused by chronic dehydration not drinking water.

When people ask how you got your fat and protein, tell them off that belly you used to have , tell them my body stored it up, all I needed for me and then some , I just used it up. Well done sir

It’s basically the Big Food industries cop out to blame their victims for being over weight than taking any blame on themselves. They would want us to think were all just lazy and need to exercise more, moderation, portion size, while they rake in the money by the billions.

Wow, 11 months gone, into the home stretch! I think you've proven the worth of potatoes and McDougall should hire you as his poster boy!
I love all the points you made, especially about how fake food hijacks our natural instincts. After all the self hatred and blame people suffer for not being able to control their weight, I think it's vital to get the message out that it's not character weakness or lack of "willpower" that's to blame, it's the intent of the companies that manufacture what we eat to keep us reliant on them for their profit. Retraining your taste-buds is critical, after that it's a comparative breeze as long as you accept that healthy lifestyle boundaries are actually liberating, not restrictive. What you've done more than proves that! Congrats and thanks for your inspiration!

I have typed up your 11 points and am going to post it on my fridge as a reminder! Luckily I have always loved spuds! My favourite tip is to eat spuds before the chocolate cake. Hard to do if ur poor, say u have 10 bucks to ur name not enough to do anything or go anywhere exciting but you could order a pizza and brighten your day, it's easy to eat boring if you have the means to have a exciting life, but for some food is the only bright part of the day

I have shared this video as I agree with every point you make. One thing I would like to say re moderation is the old one that goes, "Moderation in the things that are good, and abstinence from things that are bad." As you point out, moderation in bad things is a myth and won't lead to the highest quality of life. You are the walking, talking example of the health a simple and active life can bring. Nobody is immortal, but we can live our lives in great health and for more years if we focus on food as fuel. There is no getting through to people who are wedded to their meat and fat, but there will be a lot of people who encounter you before they get sucked in to the guru-driven cults, hopefully, and end up on the healthy path. Thank you so much for recording your thoughts all year. Please don't stop after you're finished. We will want to know how you are doing, what you are eating, and many of us have become familiar with your friendly face and don't want to stop seeing it.

The only thing that helped me with sugar cravings was potatoes, I wish i new this 10 years ago, I would have lost a lot of fat, I never considered eating potatoes because it has one of the highest Glycmic index but it was the reason I got rid of sugar cravings ( i couldn't stop eating brownies) for some reason potatoes has a certain minrals of vitamins that kills sugar carvings

Spud Fit, New subscriber here, thanks for the powerful inspiration. We ( the money police and me) walked into the supermarket recently and I stopped, looked around and came to the realization that I couldn't see anything that was healthy to eat. It was all "manufactured stuff". Money police agrees with me and has become my strong support for the potato dominant diet plan. She fixes me anything I want as long as it is potatoes and I love it! It's almost frightening how fast the weight falls off and how great we both feel. And we're saving a crate of money on our grocery expenses.

I've recently started following you and although I haven't got spud only, I now do 2 days a week spud only. Even this makes a difference to my health. Also my husband who isn't interested in "healthy eating", loves spuds and has decided to join me on my spud days! As a result we have both found that we love spuds and are now thinking of adding another "spud day" to our week. We also find that our taste buds are altering as is our "mindset" about our dependence on food. We know select less "junk food" as we are losing our taste for it and eat less meat, naturally with only spud days. Now my hubby is showing interest in using spuds more and not eating so much meat etc. He has lost 5 kilos in 3 weeks, not a lot, but noticeable for him and he is impressed that he can fill up on spuds and still loose weight. Now he is coming onboard in looking after himself better and we are both going to benefit! Tks for the inspiration! I've been trying for years to get him to eat "healthier". Now he can just eat lots of spuds, enjoy what he is eating, eat as much as he likes and lose weight and feel healthier!!!

I weighed myself thinking I would gain 1 pound and I was down 4.2. Danny Smith if your looking to create a "creamy potato" I'd use cooked cauliflower in a blender. It can be used as a sauce on top of baked potato or mixed in with garlic mashed; pair with spring onions maybe broccoli. It's delicious and not "dry" lol.

John Doe i mash my potatoes with some almond or soy milk to get a creamy texture without the fat. Adding some chives or garlic powder adds flavour. Give it a chance for a week and your palate will adjust to not having butter.

Amazing. It would be awesome to see you hit the gym and get on the aesthetic level of “gym-goers,” just to mind blow them ;) with their traditional school of thought especially come from such a background! would you ever consider building muscle (like the gym community and trend) as a further pursuit outside of health purposes but for experiencing another realm of body and mind physical and mental connection ?
I think it would be awesome to see natural and materialistic barrier intermingle and I’m sure people have done it, but since you have such a following and news headline it could really surprise people and perhaps even get them out of their traditional safe beliefs.. and as a result help reach a greater diversity of people with their life.

Yeah, I guess I am. I could do that diet then. I tend to eat baked spuds with a little olive oil, lemon juice and cayenne pepper, ...or else with garlic oil.
There was some prisoner of war camp in Denmark or Norway, in WWII where prisoners were fed a potato-based diet because it was cheap, ...and by the end of the war they ended up being healthier than the local population.
I just worked out that you'd need to eat 3kg of spuds a day to supply your daily calorie requirements though. I think I'd have to mix it up with some other veg.

    • @SpudFit
      @SpudFit  6 років тому +5

www.spudfit.com/f-a-q will give you heaps of info about what I did. I never have any oil, very unhealthy. I've also read about those prisoners. I ate 3-4kg per day, sometimes more with no other veggies and everything was great and only got better over the course of the year.
