There is nothing fattening about a potato...It's the stuff you ADD to it that makes it unhealthy!!!!!! Dr Rachael said, "if I ate potatoes all day, I'd look like a potato." How would she know unless she experimented it herself? Please don't make claims like that unless you have facts to back it up. I challenge Dr Rachael to try it for a month.

Everything in moderation doesn't work for everyone.
If you have a food addiction it seems that eating only rice or only potatoes can dramatically improve your relationship to food, lower your weight & cure many chronic diseases.
The mainstream media are not permitted to openly promote or encourage such approaches because it would seriously damage the junk food industry, the confectionary industry plus massively (excuse the pun) the medical industry.
Imagine millions more people being clear of obesity, chronic diseases, fatigue, tooth decay & cancers.
A far healthier world but also far less profit for those who prey on one's weaknesses & addictions.

The problem is processed cooking oil. It takes 98 cobs of corn to produce 5 table spoon of oil. You can easily use that amount frying some eggs and hash browns. If you go to a starch diet, you have to cut out the vegetable oil or your mitochondiras will begin to get damaged, and your A1C levels will creep up.

He also allows a "cheat day" about every two weeks. I need to lose about 30 pounds I gained due to an illness and am still limping from a broken leg. I'm trying to do what he did before I get any heavier. I'm not used to low activity, but have no choice. I want my clothing to stop shrinking! 😂.

I think people go to "extremes" because the information out there is too confusing. They don't know what to do and what not to do because so many people say different things. So they try one thing for a long time. Nothing wrong with that. If anything it's fool proof. You know what you're having breakfast lunch or dinner. I hear many people say having one thing all the time makes them feel a lot better and makes life a lot easier.

The truth is, most overweight people suffer from food addiction. One overlooked fat is that the potato is the probably the densest mono-food that people are experimenting with. If I can't live without snacking in front of the T.V., Well an hour of eating bananas has a heck of a lot more calories than an hour of eating air fried potato strips. You allow yourself a little organic dark chocolate, and the next thing you know, you're eating a whole bar every night. For those 5 or 6 hundred calories, I can air fry a couple pounds of potatoes and that has to be the healthier route. Mono food diets in general can cure food addiction, which is the underlying cause of obesity. It's not what we're eating so much as how much of it we're eating!

I think it’s interesting that unless someone has a true NEED to eat a certain way they will not understand the methods of others. Just be accepting that people are usually doing things like this because of a deep reason to.
Peanut butter closes the throats of some… do we question that they stopped eating peanut butter? No, we believe them that they have a strong enough reason that you have not experienced.
Be gentle with others in their own reasons that you know nothing about.
Same with people having “strange” to you behaviors out of past traumas to keep peace or protection that others don’t need.

I have been eating a lot of potatoes for the past few weeks and watching YT videos on the potato diet.
My question is - What is the difference between eating only potatoes, and eating potatoes and some other food (maybe on a separate day) such as avocados. So far I have not found any YT video that answers this question of mine. I sort of understand why people do mono diets like only orange juice, grapes, or carrot juice - but since potatoes are are almost (or might be) a nutritionally complete food, what advantage is there to eating only potatoes for 3 or 4 weeks (or even for a much longer time), compared to a food plan of eating say potatoes and avocados? I am not trying to criticize the potato mono diet, but to understand it. Note - I have zero interest in losing weight, since I have never had a weight problem.
