    Someone needs to get two of these and only bend the left side of the left one and the right side of the right one. I just want to see what it would look like to have two side by side with the ends bent and the middle where they meet still straight. It would be completely impractical but I just want to see what it would look like.

    • @S41t4r4
      @S41t4r4 Рік тому

      It isn't really that good for trying out curvatures. It can be basically any radius in between but you basically have to eyeball it.

    • @grievesy83
      @grievesy83 Рік тому +6

      I would 100% change the curve: tighter for combat flight sim, more open for RPGs. I just need to fabricate a bracket to get it on my gas strut monitor arm, which shouldn’t be difficult. There are use cases for it, though I accept you’re probably correct for the majority. But even if you are correct, it’s still a good feature because the one model caters to all curve preferences. It means they don’t have to tool the manufacturing line for flat, 1800R, 1500R, etc. models. If you like the panel specs for the Alienware DW(insert rest of model numbers here) but not the curve, then you have to buy a different monitor. For that reason alone, it’s brilliant.

    • @bartolomeothesatyr
      @bartolomeothesatyr Рік тому +14

      The real party trick is being able to dial in exactly what your favourite curvature is, rather than having to adapt to whatever fixed curvature the manufacturer set it at. Personally, I generally prefer flat panels because I'm bothered by the geometric perspective distortion curved panels introduce when my eyeballs aren't in exactly the right position, but I suspect that problem could be mitigated if I could dial in exactly the right curvature for my exact eyeballs at my exact viewing distance.

    Since I'm a fan of Corsair products and I've kind of been sticking to the Corsair ecosystem this looks like a potential monitor for the future. It may not have the ability to be vesa mountable but since the main screen pedestal is housing all of the monitors components that make it function I like how all of the controls and inputs have been made easily accessible because of it. I like my current 32" monitor a lot as it has gotten me to a larger screen size I've been wanting for a while.
    But it's mainly just a 1080p monitor I got a really good deal on. Since I'm slowly refreshing my system and making it more premium than when I first built it this screen will compliment it nicely. But my goal is still a new high-end graphics card so this will be a while into the future. I'd love to be able to experience HDR as my XBox ONE S and Windows 10 supports it but my tv and monitor does not.

      If u dont have titles like these ur vids will not be pushed by youtube. Thts how algorithms works.

      It's how the UA-cam game is played unfortunately. Linus Jay and others have admitted to not liking having to use them l, but those titles help with the algorithm.
      It helps get views in the door. Which equals money. Money that is used for the business and salaries.

    Just ordered one for the Digital Storm system coming my way in a few weeks (Velox pretty much maxed out except for hard pipes) looks like this will be a great tool. Might need to beef up that circuit breaker....

    My current monitor is roughly 9 years old, and thinking about a huge update/upgrade for this coming year for PC and all. Might give this a look at.

    I'd love for you to compare this to the Alienware QD-OLED monitors, so hear your opinion on the different approaches to OLED and compare them side by side

    I have a LG OLED CX55. I run it at 35 percent brightness and sometimes the whites still hurt my eyes. It is my main computer and gaming monitor. The silhouette of a few stagnant screen elements(task bar, browser tabs, desktop icons, etc) have burnt in before. But never more than an outline, and the Pixel Refresher to date has not failed to remove the burn in. Cost me 2K but it has been worth it so far.

      If the "burn in" is disappearing, it's not burn in. It's image retention. Burn in doesn't go away.

    being able to bend each side independently is awesome tho. even better for more normal "corner" desks where just do the one bend and have the other "flat"

    This is what I was waiting for.
    I really am not feeling the curved ultrawides ( still using old flat 34' LG ) adn wish them to build flat high end one to buy - and this is the future !
    You want flat - ok , you want 1000R curve - ok , you want to switch and try 1200R - we got ya buddy !
    Thank you for the review Jay!

    I'm about $9000 into my custom build and not finished yet. I been wondering what monitor to get. Jay I think you convinced me to buy this one. I've watched quite a few of your videos and they've been very helpful. Thank you
