      who gives a fck.. I want a monitor with good contrast and backlight bleed so I dont have to be like "wtf is this crap" when I play some dark game that has nights and so on.. its really off-putting I hate that more than anything about monitors.. also 120 hz minimum I would say, any kind of gaming, even singplayer fps , 120 hz should be a standard now, QHD is like a nice compromise between F-HD and overrated 4k too.. looks awesome and can get more frames out of games than in 4k, + if you play old games at QHD the UI elements will still be readable, thats not the case with 4k monitors, unless you lower resolution ofc

    With Corsair getting so vertically integrated, and the fact that they've been making prebuilts for years now, i'm surprised they don't make their own motherboards and GPUs. i have a dell s3220dgf that i got when a firmware update disabled adaptive sync on the LG Nanocell tv i had only had a week, cost less, and honestly the lack of IPS Glow..is great, i have mostly owned IPS panels over the years, TN is mostly shit... i say mostly because i have seen a few panels demo'd i dont know if they ever went into production but, it was a true 8bit + frc one was even true 10bit, with better then i could believe viewing angles for a TN panel.. (va isnt great with angles but, is far better today then even that high end TN..) thing was the panels were expensive and the guys demoing them admitted as much, they actually are harder to make the va/tn/pls/etc designs, without giving better results outside response times...
      i couldnt go back to using my old panels(pre 1440) as a main/primary monitor anymore...
      i need to get a new controller board for an LG panel i have that could take a control board from an old apple display or any compat with that LG panel...
      anyway, i will say at least 75% is up on my list these days.. its noticable how much smooother even windows move around the screen...

Can't see the justification for higher refresh rate unless you're serious into eSports. Prices have really come down, though- Amazon has the 32GK650F-B for $299. That's 1440P 144 Hz with AMD FreeSync.

      Valid point but the streamdeck and corsair icue are really easy to use and, for the most part, works great. My streamdeck changes the color of my, aio, ram, fans, keyboard, nano leaf panels and the streamdeck itself at the push of a button. It does NOT, however, change my lianli strimmers or the Asus 3090, which it COULD do if I set everything up a little differently and set up a script for the asus card.
      If you dont do all that then the streamdeck is worth it just for the functionality it offers all by itself. When I start photoshop, for example, it switched to my profile for that program and when I am editing photos I can do a whole bunch (keyboard short cuts mostly) at the push of a button.
      On the downside I am locked into the ecosystem which has recently become an issue since lianli realeased some really great new fans that I am lusting over. I can make it all work but would be giving up some control over custom lighting animation that are possible with icue.

    I love the stream deck. You can do some amazing stuff with it. I have mine set with different color profiles that control the system lighting, the keyboard and my nanoleaf panels. So when I cycle to the next profile the lighting all changes and matches up. Also when I open Photoshop or lightroom it changes to the proper modes and displays shortcuts that I set up. I also have a game launcher profile with a gif for each game that when pressed launches the game.
    Also since icue allows you to layer effects when setting up lighting you can create some really cool custom animations. If you are using corsair ram it is particularly cool. The ram also has a tendency to get stuck though, with an animation freezing and no longer animating.
    The stuff I do is just surface level though, if you can write scripts you can do ANYTHING with the stream deck.

Having a monitor lower than eye level, like mine are, encourages slouching or hunching over, both of which do a number on my back. What blows my mind is that the only benefit (over competition) to buying Corsair’s monitor is the expansive color space in sRGB and DCI P3… but then it’s 1440p @ 32”… seems a little contradictory. No one is gonna notice that level of color accuracy in their games and only professionals really value 10 bit color accuracy… yet they also edit 4K video and high megapixel count images.

    If you're looking at this monitor around Black Friday time, it's now on sale on Corsair's website and Best Buy for $350 which is so much better than the original price. I just bought one and will be picking it up from Best Buy next week.
    Part of the reason for the price drop is their newer model has the same specs but with 240Hz refresh. My graphics card can't push out that FPS with the games I play so not worth $600 for me, but may be of interest to others. I'm excited to get this after having a Gigabyte M32Q that suddenly died on me and we'll see if they actually replace it or not 😒

    About 5 years ago I purchased a 27" 165Hz panel. I was hoping the motion performance would have significantly improved by now, but I guess it doesn't bother some people as much as it does me. The price of this monitor doesn't seem too bad, and compares almost directly to the one I purchased 5 years ago, but I find it hard to justify purchasing this and not gaining much. The video seemed to talk about a lot of other things, other than the actual panel performance.

  • @Olfan
    @Olfan 2 роки тому +3

    I heard in the video manufacturers read comments? Well, let's see.
    Dear future monitor, let's go through this little check list to see whether you're qualified to move into my home. Do note that all points not containing a "please" are mandatory and not subject to negotiation.
    ==Hardware features:==
    • Be Anti-glare. Sunlight exists, and I have kids so I won't shut out the sun from the living room. Be a glare display and I won't even consider buying you.
    • Have 4K or bigger resolution. "Bruh, you can't drive native 4k @60Hz" is no excuse anymore and hasn't been for years. Monitors are *much* longer-lived than GPUs, I've been daily driving a 4k display since 2016, and only now I'm thinking of upgrading.I want to enjoy beautiful vistas in all it's glory while upscaling the fast-paced action. Scaling tech works great already and is getting better all the time, also I will be driving native 4k @120Hz before long, so putting a hardware limit on visual fidelity by buying a 1440p display is out of the question. Be a little wider to make for a true upgrade, but be 2160p at the absolute minimum or I won't want you.
    • Have a great stand or no stand at all; and have a proper VESA mount whether you come with a stand or not. Flimsy light stands for otherwise good displays show that a manufacturer will do anything to shave off a cent of production cost, and I will not trust a product made by a company who works like this. If you come with a stand, have it be heavy and well adjustable. (The stand in this video was great, I liked it a lot.) When I put my coffee mug on the table and you start wobbling like that pound of weight were an earthquake, I'm going to put you back into your box and send you where you should never have left.
    • Spare me unnecessary gimmicks. Be a great display, and I'm gladly going to pay a proper price for you. If I need speakers, woofers, USB hubs or extra little displays I'm going to find and buy just the thing I need, not something that comes in some bundle. You want to offer such stuff as truly optional options? Great, I might even consider them. Just don't artificially inflate the display price with anything that isn't needed to make a great display. (Note: Cables *are* needed. Coming with proper cables for each kind of input that are guaranteed to work with the product is a great idea.)
    • Have many local dimming zones. Yes, that makes it more expensive and more difficult to drive, but it looks SO much better. I'm not going to settle for less.
    • Be long-lasting. As beautiful as OLED screens are, I can't deal with burn-in effects after just a few months. I'm buying for a whole family of gamers, at one display every two years monitors just have to last a very long time.
    • If you are bigger than 28", please be curved. It's just so much easier on the eye if the display surface is at an equal distance from side to side. Also, curves in the right places make everything look more sexy.
    ==Software/firmware features:==
    • Support both G-Sync and Adaptive Sync. My monitor will not dictate what brand of GPU I'm buying. (My current one only does G-Sync because there wasn't anything else yet.) Be compatible with both teams or stay at the store.
    • Be able to display HDR, but be smart about it. You know as well as I do that not everything outputs HDR today, so don't give me bland colours when connected to an SDR source. I find out that you can't work with standard old-school colour depths, I'll return you.
    • Support both low and high refresh rates. 120Hz or more is great, and I love you for offering that. There still is content hard-locked to 30Hz, though, and that has to work, too. Don't be stupid about choosing your signal input, you're digital, you don't need scanlines anymore. Support at least 120Hz, but properly do variable sync down to very few fps or I'll consider you broken and even pay for shipping back to the vendor.
    • Don't promise what you can't deliver. Don't brag about super fast response times when that makes the experience unbearable, I'm in it for visual pleasure, not for "works as specified" nitpicking. A millisecond more is not a problem, a distorted image certainly is. Also, upscale lower resolutions properly or not at all. "I can't do this" is a far better response than "Yes we can!" and then failing to deliver something usable. A bit of professional honesty goes a long way.
    • Please, please do have a snappy OSD. If I can shell out a thousand or thousandS of Dollars for a great monitor, don't you think I would much rather have spent an extra 10$ if its menu isn't a pain to use? A faster CPU for your little menu software costs just a few cents more, come on!
    According to this list, is there ONE product currently actually available on the market that I could buy?

  • @arimittila7249
    @arimittila7249 2 роки тому +3

    Display sizes and densities are nowadays advanced enough to be good to either productivity or gaming performance. You should have a testing of gaming displays in productive use and compare the power usage in regular tasks as well compared to running couple of 24" hd screens against a 34-37" gaming monitor

    I think there are features I appreciated like the secure stand, cable management features, cabling setup, and camera mount options. I think monitor gets a little specialized in what you are doing, as Jay kinda touches on. For gaming, high refresh rates, picture clarity, and contrast are super important to me, as well, as having a curved screen for the immersion aspect. For media editing, obviously color clarity is very important, and the highest resolution you can squeeze out. One side of the industry I don't see touched on enough are the bigger screen monitors. For most things, I understand a 27-34" screen makes a lot of sense. However, as an Engineer, I often need to review or write blueprints and view them at the same time. I can't count the number of times I have walked into an engineering den, and seen 2 rows of setups with a typical low rez 27" monitor or Laptop screen sitting next to a 55-65" Flat screen TV used for print review. Now maybe a TV is the best choice here, and it honestly isn't that hard to set up, but I'm surprised the industry hasn't caught on to this and developed monitors for this purpose.

I have HS70 Pro wireless headphones and the K55 keyboard per now, but it's still laggy at times and the battery percentage reporting is half assed because it will keep going at low % with an audible warning every now and then for what feels like forever...
      Not to speak of FW updates(K55 has gotten some) for the HS70 pro, that absolutely could use some optimization in terms of startup time and battery % reporting...
      Corsair however will get extreme kudos for their RMA process, because I had to return my HS70 Pro and the customer service was really good, sent to NL via DHL ESI but they returned it with WPX so once they registered the RMA I actually got my RMA headset like the day after... So kudos...

    Thanks for reviewing this monitor Jay. My current monitor is a 32" Philips BDM3270QP (first and best version), that I bought about 5years ago specifically for my photo editing, and gaming second, although I game a lot anyway. It is only a 60Hz QHD AMVA panel, but even now, it still displays a gorgeous image, thanks to being a true 10bit panel (actually 12bit internal). I have no issues gaming at 60Hz, but once the video card situation stabilises, I will be getting something around the RTX 3080 Ti / RTX 3090 / RX6900XT, or better, and a panel like this Corsair will compliment by photography and gaming almost perfectly. I also have a 27" Benq GW2765 used in portrait mode for web browsing, watching videos etc, and that's also a great QHD 60Hz 10bit panel, that I got used for a measly £60 (about $80) 🤑

      @@TheSjuris thats true I have a Samsung VA panel on a 32" 1440P curved monitor, however, for their WQHD, they use IPS panels that they make themselves.

    1000 dollars is alot considering the compitition in the 32 inch, 1440p class. You can pick up two monitors of similar spec for around the same price. I feel like every company is trying to cater to the streamers and forgetting about 95% of the market.
    Great video Jay! Can't wait for what the rest of the month has in store.

    I hope they do a 27/28in Monitor. I had a 30 and 32 Inch Gaming monitor, it was way too big for my style of gaming. I like to get close(ish) to my monitor and I personally think 30 and 32 inch is too big for competitive gaming. They also need to sell monitor arms too. I ditch stands last year and it's a way better experience, also helps keep my desk clean of rubbish.

    Love how he just goes on to review another monitor right after he was put on blast for being paid by Samsung to review the G9 and ignored how broken it is pretending it was so great. This channel is quickly losing credibility.

      Yea. Jay and Linus are better for entertainment, but GN is where it is at for unbiased info. Other 2 are shills, whether they admit it or not.

      @Male Sensitivity No one is saying he’s not an expert. He understands more about computers than most people. We are saying he’s becoming a shill for big brands and not admitting it. Also, he is largely unaffected by the shortage because he (1) gets samples pre-release and (2) can call up his friends at EVGA or micro center and get what he wants. Credibility is determined by those who are receiving the information, not those giving it. Read the other comments. There are many of people saying the same thing. I bet he makes enough from views and “non sponsored” content (like his famous iFixit ads) to cover the costs of his business, because he doesn’t do enough “sponsored” content (like the G9) to make himself break even on that alone. His margins would be too small and his overhead too high to be sustainable.

    Hey Jay since this is basically an ad for corsair can you do a video on icue software issues with aida64 for a sensor panel. I've been running this issue for a while and I haven't had much luck on info about this issue. While running Aida64 and corsair icue at the same time it disconnects my corsair aio from my system and you can hear it via USB sound.

      @ZERO SLEEP lol true, don’t mistake me as a hater though, I really do enjoy his content but with my ADD I can’t just sit through a 1.5 hr video at one time so I’d listen to it from apple podcast while I’d be working and I’m still a bit sore that he expected people to sit through an hour and a half video. I mean if Jerry from nerdgasm would upload his UA-cam “podcasts” as an actual podcast, I’d tune into that as well but my time is more valuable than sitting at my pc watching one video for hours on end.
      Ok rant over, I feel better now lol

    This monitor costs $800 and competes with monitors around the $500 price range. So this is just an overpriced gimmick. Just like the G9 you covered the other day after samsung paid you to ignore it's terrible quality issues and broken firmware.
