I love a classic-fit blazer, they are my favorite jacket style. I didn’t buy a single blazer during those 5 or 6 years when they were all hugely oversized, very long, and boxy and shapeless, but just waited that trend out. Now, finally, the classic, fitted-waist blazer is back, so I’m buying new blazers again. I’m a petite and the oversized ones were extremely unflattering on me, but I really didn’t love the way they looked on any other woman, either. I won’t wear very tight, clingy clothes, but I like to show my feminine shape, not look like a man. Figure-skimming is the best fit, in my opinion. Brands finally got the message when the first, tentatively introduced, fitted-waist blazer sold out in a few minutes! I realize that many women still have the oversized ones and want to get more wear out of them, a belt and other styling tips can help. But, I wouldn’t buy a new one now, they are out of style already. This always happens with extreme trends, like the “shrunken blazers” of the late 90s and early 2000s, they didn’t last long and I was glad I didn’t buy any. Classic cuts are the most timeless and versatile, they can last a lifetime if well-chosen.
I find a quilted vest/gilet a good layering piece. I can wear it open over a shirt with rolled up sleeves, and closed with something with long sleeves. It’s great for those days when it’s a bit too warm to wear a heavier jacket, but a bit too cool to go without some kind of layer.
Hi Beth - great video as always! One of my go to solutions is investing in suits (blazers/pants/or with dresses) in lighter weight “4 season” wool. This helps me transition through seasons with many of the same pieces. Of course, when it’s blazing hot in the summer, I have suits in linen. But it’s the same mixing and matching. My goal is to look polished and enjoy my senior years. You inspire me ❤!
I am so pleased that I found your channel! I have been wearing oversized tops for the past 2 years now. I didn't know that they were making me look larger than I am. Thanks for your great advice and suggestions.
I like the idea of a jean jacket with a flowing dress. I just tried on and cleaned out my closet. I volunteer with the homeless. Those pants that don't fit can have a good home. I have purchased a pair of NYDJ jeans and love the wide leg denims I purchased. I will slowly add others or scour thrift stores for more.
A fun and flattering layered look is a long straight sleeveless black knit cardigan. Works well over a suede or other thinner neutral colored jacket and a light top. Works with jeans, skirts, dresses, really anything. A belt can pull it together or a scarf can add color and dimension. This look is always classy and can be worn in as many variations as you can think off. It is portable and comfortable when traveling.

I love that you called yourself an old lady….me too…think we should love being old…we are the lucky ones
I LOVE sweater sets! Matchy-matchy is just fine with me!
I bought the J crew Jean jacket without the collar and love it! It’ll look good with many things, especially with dresses. Great video.

Sweatshirts!
I love that denim jacket without a collar. It then doesn't fight against collars from " underneath".

Welcome!!
A jean jacket is my go to item. It’s great for traveling.

So timely! It’s October but we’re still experiencing temps over 80 degrees which can make what to wear challenging. Appreciate the transitional tips!
My pleasure! This is a fickle time of year when the weather can't quite make up its mind.
Even though I am an apple shape, belts just make an outfit look finished so I wear them confidently anyway!
Same here!
Thank you! This time if year, some days it’s still hot in Texas but cool in the mornings. Transition wardrobes are a mode of survival! Great looks!!
I’m in Georgia too and the weather is just fickle but I do love it! 🤭 I’m originally from New Jersey ⛈️ 🥶 so loving this weather!
I would love a video on how to wear scarves and wraps! I am finally finding my style at 54, but need a lot of help!

Beth, good reminder video. I just love your grey sweater with the lovely red heart. Do you have a link for this?
You are like a real aducator..💐
That is great to hear! I always hope the videos provide value.
I love my blazers & denim jacket! Great for Houston fall!
Cold wet and windy here in Wales 🏴 so the summer wardrobe is packed away and Autumn/Winter wardrobe firmly entrenched.
You're set!
Beth, have you made a video on favorite accessories? I saw the tan wrap belt you wore but can’t find it. Would you share the link for this? Thank you.
I don’t see the grey top with heart you are wearing listed…did I miss it?
I live in the California desert and it’s 115° right now October 6, 2024. It’s usually warm but not like that.
