I have recently started to take pride in my age. For many years I used to try, desperately pehaps, to look younger. One day it dawned on me that so many of the people who I used to know, some much younger than me, are already dead, while "I'm still here" (to quote S.Sondheim).
I have never worn makeup (except as a teenager, and, in my younger days, in amateur dramatics), do not have pierced ears (and don't want them), and rarely wear any sort of jewellery. Neither do I have an hourglass figure with a well-defined waist, and my fine, flyaway hair is not amenable to control! And I absolutely CANNOT wear high heels!!!!! Since none of the models in any way remotely resembles this 72 year old woman, how am I to take advice from your video? Or is it only intended for people my daughter's age (53)?
Can you try monochromatic? Can you add a sleek necklace? V or scoop necks aren't preclude by anything you've mentioned. Solid colors, rather than prints (large or small) can look more thoughtful and less distracting. Light layers, as mentioned, aren't preclude by your complaints. Go a bit more tailored. Wear current shoes and try a dark wash jean - it's about looking intentional, rather than just grabbing stuff off the closet floor! All these ideas are possible, given what you've described.
I am with you there. There is nothing wrong with looking old and I can't wear high heels either. I'm a big gal and have been all my life. I wear classic clothes when I have to dress up, but for the most, I'm a jeans and t shirt gal. I do like the videos because I do learn a few things on how to update my look. I think Ana does a great job for women who have money and are slim and wealthy. She also must live in a cool climate. Ana, one day would you do a video for plus size retired l middle class women? You'd get amazing views.
It makes me sad how you describe yourself. I'm sure you do have some good features which you perhaps are not aware of. Self-criticsm is congenial however you shouldn't overdo it - it's a little bit like giving up on yourself. Look in the mirror and find out your physical advantages and then try to emphasize them. Full speed ahead!!!
Use sunblock, and whatever you use on your face, extend onto the neck and chest. Why? Because V neck is the most flattering, especially as we age and the bustling descends.
V necks are good in the late spring/summer/early fall. Fall season, winter and early spring are still cold so you need your neck/upper chest covered. The only remedy is to wear a scarf (silk preferably), or else you have to wear a round or turtleneck.
Updating your hairstyle works as well. Some of the women in the video had hairstyles that looked stiff, either from excessive hair spray or going to the salon where the beautician is not up to date on hairstyles.
Nice video. Most top hairdressers in Italy ( look up Cappucci hairstyles) often also suggest to get a lighter hair color. Black hair ages your face and makes a too harsh contrast with your features. Brown with some highlights is suggested instead of black.
Why should one look younger, why shouldn't we look OUR AGE??? Why so few people are able to age with dignity? When you're over 50, you'll never be a teenager again, just accept it and be yourself.
Interesting video. My only comment is that I live a very casual lifestyle, so most of th e outfits would not be applicable. Do have any advice for the casual lady?
Great tips! Just this morning, read another article on the same topic and it suggests NOT to wear monochromatic as it’s aging😮 Personally, I love monochromatic❤ and minimalist jewelry!
Women featured in this video hardly looked like they are over 50. Honestly most of us over 50 hardly look this slim and elegant all the time. With menopause wrinkles we just appreciate what's have been given. Everyone is different with diff shapes and sizes. Wearing v neck is not permissible for woman who wear hijab like myself. Always tell myself wear clothes that are modest ,comfortable n what pleases oneself. Why would we want to look like everyone else when all of us have our own personalities, like and dislikes. Thank you for the video.
Good tips. I would add: don’t wear those big shirts or tunics, they’re frumpy, out of style and unflattering, creating a big, boxy shape. Show your waistband, it doesn’t matter what your figure looks like, it’s always a huge improvement over trying to cover up, which makes the legs and torso look short and dumpy.
Can't agree, if you're overweight, you do have a big, boxy shape and showing your waistband cannot really hide that. Perhaps show a little in the front but your hips need a bit of coverage.
I am only 5'3" and believe in monochromatic outfits. It truly works! I recently moved from New Jersey to Arizona and need to update my wardrobe since the climate throughout the year is different.
In most of the points agree with you. Two exceptions: Tailored clothes can be aging being too fitted and formal. Concerning footwear: I personally abhor the sneaker/skirt/dress trend: it's a proportion killer as are ankle boots and -straps. Mature women tend to think it makes them look younger, but the opposite is true: they look like trying too hard to be modern - instead they look clumsy, like having clubfeet. It's very unflattering. Today there are many comfortable shoe options out there as ballet flats or loafers.
I found my best colors have changed with age. I updated my my color palette to go with the change and have started receiving many compliments the best coming from 20 somethings!
Buty- najtrudniej znaleźć modne i naprawdę wygodne.
Greetings dear. .... Thanks for sharing. ..... It's been very informative. What if I don't want to include Jean's in my closet! I've got my reasons, so I fased out jeans. God's continued blessings 🙌 🙏
Every model in this video has a perfect slim figure; the average woman doesn't. A tall slender figure can wear anything... the $2.98 body. The short woman doesn't have the luxury of some of these clothes. I'm short, have broad shoulders, a large bust, short waist. 5' tall if I stand up super straight. Almost everything ages me, or makes me look frumpy. I'd look terrible in several of these outfits. I don't mean to be critical, but us short women have a real problem that is not so easily fixed. The monochromatic look helps though.
No they don't, they make you look huge, and real frumpy. If only women could see themselves from behind. I am an old lady and try to dress smartly. People have to see me and dressing nice adds to their day rather than dragging them down.
Oversized clothes make you look larger and definitely frumpy. You don’t need to wear curve-hugging clothes, but you need to wear clothes that are the proper size for your body. As for comfort - proper fitting clothes don’t have to be uncomfortable. If you try something that is restrictive, don’t buy it.
I have embraced monochromatic looks. Light shades of neutral colors and dark jeans. Makeup with a natural look. I like chunk jewelry but shifting to a more minimalist style as this is more current. At this moment still in the cheap side but in a near future hope to go to a more sophisticated, durable pieces
why look younger? after all age is a privilege. we need to be healthy and strong, the rest does not matter much like fashion, for example.the pursuit of unattainable standards of the youth cult industry
I enjoyed this video very much . TYSM. Please share suggestions for creating a royal Indian ladies look above 50 years, short height, 55 Kg, brown complexion skin, in Punjabi suit.
Hi I am from India..thanks for sharing the tips....unfortunately the dresses you showed here will not work for us because here the dresses are either saree or long top and palazo...but there are certain tips I agree with ...monochromatic colours, light jewellery and light colour dresses ....yes it will make you look taller slim and younger
Regardless of my age,I was always opted for ( semi) monochrome look / same/ very similar colour blazer ant trousers + crisp white shirt Or same colour trousers and top/ shirts…and Matching colour jackets, etc…shoes …. Must have ,rhetorical best quality I could afford crisp white shirt, even collar is enough to lift the look… Ton to ton if you are lucky enough to find the same quality few peaces…. That was always my style but as the time goes by I had to make some adjustments, wider leg trousers, lower hills, more pastel colours for my scarfs…and better quality 💐
Adding comfortable insoles to my shoes to make them as comfy as sneakers. However, I must admit that comfort for me is above all. Can’t be dressed up all day and every day.
Also if your wardrobe is stil fits, and not ripped or faded, I would continue wearing it. The you too old to wear this or that is so cliche. Why spend a lot of money for new clothes. So, you donate, but quite a few of the donated clothes end up in landfill. Not every clothes that are donated can and will sell.
You have many good points. However i absolutely do not agree to wear such soft pastel colors !! Our pale faces need jewel tones i saw on other videos. Brilliant greens, blues, red/burgundy, etc. Beige, white, and black are harsh nor add life to my now pale skin. Also being retired, i will not wear uncomfortable highly tailored "suits" that make me look like a business woman. Agree clothing should fit well and be slenderizing. Most of all your other points are excellent and I thank you. 😊
At 83 I am not beautiful and slim like this lady and definitely prefer comfortable clothes, just simple and neutral. I still cringe when I see ladies in my retirement community wearing bright big prints, horizontal stripes, capris and tops with holes on shoulders.
I have a long neck and v-necks make me look like a giraffe. I don't think they are flattering on anyone. Soft cowl neck, square necks are good. Do me, the neckline of on outfit is most important. It frames the face.
PS. Since I'm tall i like wearing plain yet gorgeous colored tops with a classy "statement" tasteful necklace and small yet bold gold or silver hoop earrings. So classy. V necks are not for me with this long aging neck LOL. I do love wearing leggings with a very long comfy top for walking or around the house. So comfy. I also wear matching leggings with flattering simple above the knee dresses and of course my statement necklace.
Nice. Now can we see real women with no waist, losing their hair and unable to wear high heels? Models look good in a bin bag. No matter what I wear, I look like I'm wearing a bin bag.
That's an awful thing to say about oneself. It sounds like you gave up on yourself. On the other hand obviously you are still interested in style tips: you still watch these videos - so there still is hope...😉
Good ideas, but 50 and over women do not all look like the models in the video. Best to know what colors and styles suit your coloring and body shape to look your best.
Do you care about what others think about your fashion status? Are you a dependent or independent person when it comes to choice and comfort? I understand that some people make their living in fashion and style and that is their choice, but do their dictates and status affect your personal choices of what you wear?
Glad you watched 💛I added a list of products in the video description for you to check out!
There is nothing wrong with looking old. Every age has its beauty. Old is beautiful 😍
That’s true, but you don’t want to look dowdy.
I think this is less about age and more about outdated and old fashioned styles. Invest in classics ( I shop mostly in consignment shops).
Old women are not valued in society.
cope
Thank you
Not many women have a slim body and tiny waist after 50 as shown in this video. I do like the suggestions though. I have a short and plump body.
I have recently started to take pride in my age. For many years I used to try, desperately pehaps, to look younger. One day it dawned on me that so many of the people who I used to know, some much younger than me, are already dead, while "I'm still here" (to quote S.Sondheim).

You nailed it!

V necks show the skin of your décolleté and after a certain age that skin is often wrinkled…
And has age spots.
Use sunblock, and whatever you use on your face, extend onto the neck and chest. Why? Because V neck is the most flattering, especially as we age and the bustling descends.

never liked V-necks, always a crew neck person. With some exceptions but not many.

This is not about looking younger as much as it is about looking stylish. Any age could benefit from these guidelines.
😂 Agree with you. In fact, everyone can enjoy their own personal/unique style and still feel good and confident. 😎
Adding color or a few colorful accesories become admirable personal style choices
Interesting video. My only comment is that I live a very casual lifestyle, so most of th e outfits would not be applicable. Do have any advice for the casual lady?
Love the looks but Most Work only if you’re as thin as the models.
Great tips! Just this morning, read another article on the same topic and it suggests NOT to wear monochromatic as it’s aging😮
Personally, I love monochromatic❤ and minimalist jewelry!
Beautiful Fashion AlwaysThanks!!
Very nice video....really useful tips....avoiding oversized is the best....
I love big chunky jewelleries ❤❤ for different occasions..except for office wear

Appreciated the tips.

I agree with you my sister most of us are bit heavy, can you please give more style for us too. Thank you
A nice classic cardigan looks good

Excelent video. Elegance is alive and well! I loved it!

Thank you for all the tips ❤🎉❤❤❤
Much appreciated
I don't like to wear v-necks because sometimes they just show too much and I like to wear bright colors sometimes.
You did a good job, thank you so much!
I found my best colors have changed with age. I updated my my color palette to go with the change and have started receiving many compliments the best coming from 20 somethings!
Wow!
HOW TO LOOK YOUNGER!!! SMILE !
wonderful tips, thank you! Love the reminder of monochromatic, my 'bonus tip' is wear a smile with my outfit, brightens it up 😊
Thank you ❤

I noticed these advice are not for everyone
As age of the shape of the body changes. It would help to see 60, 70 and 80 year old women model the suggestions. Thank you. 9:28
Super I love I always like this look
Greetings dear. .... Thanks for sharing. ..... It's been very informative. What if I don't want to include Jean's in my closet! I've got my reasons, so I fased out jeans. God's continued blessings 🙌 🙏

The problem is that almost everything in shops is OVERSIZED! I cannot understand this trend! No one looks well in oversized dress.
Go to vintage shops!
Great tips, but why should we women look younger???
I know. Anti aging cremes, looking younger. It's sad when women tell other women that getting older is a crime. Sad. Very sad.
Good advices!
great thank you for your help ❤❤❤❤
Great tips 👍
Excellent video. I would add: good underwear!! Especially a well fitting bra, our girls need a bit more help as we get older.
Thank you-
I disagree. Not everyone is slim in such age. The oversized clothes are very very comfortable and look pretty modern.
No they don't, they make you look huge, and real frumpy. If only women could see themselves from behind. I am an old lady and try to dress smartly. People have to see me and dressing nice adds to their day rather than dragging them down.
@@faodail3913 I agree with you!

They do not look modern, they look desperately. They make you look like you hate yourself and hide from life .
They prefer to shoot slim models and not to notice 80% of elder women. How convenient.
Older and v neck...hmmm!
Totally understand, at 70 my neck is not my best feature 🤣
Could you plz make video about how to wear brown dark brown
Yes, buy brown clothes..
why look younger? after all age is a privilege. we need to be healthy and strong, the rest does not matter much like fashion, for example.the pursuit of unattainable standards of the youth cult industry
So many subtle changes!

Hi and lighten your hair also softer fluffy look to shoulder length

What clothes like Jean shirts that make you look slimmer especially on the top of your stomach will it's bulkier
Носите джинсы средней ширины чёрного или очень тёмного синего цвета хорошего качества
Dont wear vnecks if you have alot of sun damage or a boney chest.
An anklet is never wrong.
Don’t wear bright lipstick. Better to wear none
Bright lipstick defines my lips. No lipstick makes my face look pale and my lips old, because not defined.

What about short and plum ladies
What's wrong with looking old, you say it as if it's a shamful thing. Very bad message
🥰
My figure isn’t wasn’t it was when I was younger so I tend to just want to hide in those big cloths
Turtle necks to hide my turkey neck
Most of the outfits are for the office, a few casual ones would be good. Never ever would I wear all beige or even all white, boring.
Great tips. Also try not to use more than 2 colours in one outfit.
very usful

Good ideas, but 50 and over women do not all look like the models in the video. Best to know what colors and styles suit your coloring and body shape to look your best.
Nothing worse than looking chaotic 😂

I understand that some people make their living in fashion and style and that is their choice, but do their dictates and status affect your personal choices of what you wear?
So why watch those videos at all...?
True
Keep is relatively decent shape and avoid eccentric dress .
V-neck tops look dreadful on older women!
The skin is no longer very appealing, so it’s best to cover it. Agree with you totally.
How is Your opinion or comment on the absolute contrary looking styles of Louis Vuitton, Gucci etc??? Mmhhh.......
Wear real jewellery.
