    ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: 7 Reasons Not To Feed Your Dog Vitamins
    Do you feed your dog vitamins to help with health issues or to make sure they're getting what they need?
    With your dogs health in mind and how you can do the best for them, let’s take a practical look at whether vitamins are the best investment in your dog’s health.
    There are 7 key reasons why (synthetic) vitamins are not the best idea.
    1. You may be thinking that the vitamins your dog gets in their kibble are natural. However the vitamins you find in kibble and most supplements are of synthetic form.
    2. Synthetic vitamins are made using waste products from petroleum, coal, aluminium and sugar industries to name a few.
    3. For example, Vitamin A is made using methanol, petroleum esters, acetylene, benzene and refined fish oil or palm oils. Vitamin C uses hydrogenated sugar processed by acetone. Vitamin D uses irradiated animal fat, cow brains or solvent extraction while B12 is made using cobalt and cyanide!
    4. Vitamins are made using the cheapest industrial waste available on the market and they last much longer than their natural counterparts.
    5. Natural whole food derived vitamins and synthetic vitamins are like chalk and cheese and your dogs body has trouble recognising synthetic vitamins. Studies have concluded that most synthetic vitamins are expelled from the body as waste being unrecognized as food and treated as toxins. They can also inhibit the ability of natural sources of vitamins to function properly in the body.
    6. Synthetic vitamins are hard on your dogs liver as it has to put in overtime filtering out what it sees as toxins and the reason your dogs urine is a strong yellow color and smells of chemicals.
    7. 90% of the vitamins in dog kibble in the US are made in China and very little is inspected. China's record on pet food ingredients is a disaster and many pet food recalls have been because of contaminated pet food ingredients from China such as the melamine scandal back in 2007 that killed many thousands of dogs in the US.

    My 3 dogs died of old age last month at 15...they were border collie mix. I never gave them vitamins and only take stress B myself when under a stressful week. I used to work at a health store and knew too much about coal tar derived vitamins. My new adopted shelter dog is getting over kennel cough with fresh chicken, noodles and ginger as the only seasoning. Ginger root or tea is better than advil as an anti inflammatory. Commercial dog foods are useful when you're tired or broke (I'm 75) but otherwise cook simple foods with no seasoning...ginger being not only harmless but healthy.

      Sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your story about the danger of synthetic vitamines and the fact that you prepare food for your new dog, good to hear. A clove of raw garlic, finely chopped, added to food is great for seeing off kennel cough.

    What can I give my senior dog with heart disease , in supplement form ?

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому +2

      The below is a great place to start with the supplements your dog needs.
      Seniors Bundle Value Size: The Top-3 Products for Optimal Health in Senior Pets : shrsl.com/3uva6
      Supports cognitive ability
      Helps maintain good energy levels
      Supports joint mobility
      Healthy immune system support
      This Kit is especially beneficial for helping senior pets maintain a healthy and vibrant quality of life into their golden years.
      Beyond this, make sure your dog is getting some fresh foods in the diet and keep carbs low. Give zero vaxx, vet drugs.
      If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (preferably organic), canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better.
      Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables. Always add a quality probiotic: (skin issues/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
      If you want a great, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at 5%, (high carbs cause inflammation) high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble

      Will need lots of fresh food in the diet to help heal faster, important. So halve what your feeding now and replace with eggs, canned sardines, any meats, veg and use soil based probiotics to help digestion: amzn.to/3yoURqU
      For vitamins specifically and great to add, I'd use a greens powder that has everything in, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and a ton more: amzn.to/3cOgzLu 1/2 scoop once daily in food.
      All the above will help a ton. He Needs fresh food in the diet, especially now. Oh and zero vaccines, vet drugs.. just focus on nutrition (the greatest healer).

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому +1

      No, this sounds like diet issues and major inflammation to the gut lining. Here's my answer to another question with the same issue.
      You need to begin with a fresh food diet and stop any and all vet drugs, vaccines etc period.
      Fast the dog 24hrs, clean him out and begin slowly with bone broth first day or so and if going well begin new diet with a little raw eggs, canned sardines in water, part cooked and blended veggies and some meat proteins. Small meal to see how it goes at first as his system is very inflammed. When doing this add Slippery Elm Bark Powder - amzn.to/3CbHXx0 to to relieve the inflammed gut and stop the bloody diarrhea.
      Add a soil based probiotic to help digest the foods better and smooth out digestion: amzn.to/3yoURqU
      The kibble is ruining his system. Here's a protein based kibble that wont ruin him but still add the extra fresh foods above to a meal of 50% kibble 50% fresh foods: Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble
      Also give Colostrum (for allergies, sensitivity, intolerance & off Apoquel): amzn.to/3H79rad as it really helps here too, just a one time purchase is all that's needed.
      Do all the above and he'll come good over the next 3 months.
      Remember, zero vaxx, zero drugs and start any new food or supplement small and slow, he's sensitive!

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому +2

      @@tiram12 Yes, this is the way to go, most definitely.
      Give your dog Slippery Elm Bark Powder - amzn.to/3CbHXx0 on an empty stomach for some relief to the digestive system and the ibd. Just add to some plain yoghurt or something once daily for the next couple weeks while transitioning to more fresh foods. Start slow and small to ease your dog onto fresh foods a little at a time as the dog is delicate.
      Here's further advise:
      If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (best) soft boiled (ok) and preferably organic, canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better but not essential.
      If not liking to prepare vegetables then these freeze dried greens are antioxidant packed to help protect cells from free radical damage, cellular repair, support immunity, joints, skin issues, heart and eye health: Core Immune CARE Greens: shrsl.com/3uv18
      Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables and freeze dried greens.
      Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/UTI's/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
      If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!).
      Ketona has high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, so have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble. I recommend still adding the fresh foods even with the best kibble.
      By introducing fresh foods, really lowering carbs use, introducing greens, omega 3's, proteins and a better more suitable kibble, your dog will respond with healing and improved health over the next 12 weeks.
      Some must do's:
      Zero vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues rife from over vaccination)
      If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i
      Very low carbs in diet, 10% or less (cause of inflammation, poor gut health and later, cancer) No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives (always!)
      Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it.
      NO white foods ie white rice, potato, pasta..

I cook for him, everything is fresh made from scratch by me and I've got the quantities of the food from a nutritionist, no fleas and worms meds, no unnecessary vax ( we do the titers ). But he is having dermatitis/malassezia, the vet prescribed apoquel but I'll not giving him that because of the many bad stories, im bathing him with a specific shampoo. Carpet, bedding, floor, bowls...all nice and clean all the time. I'm wondering if the vitamins the nutritionist prescribed us are giving to him the skin problems, he has a lipoma in his thigh too...maybe is correlate...the only "packed" thing he is eating is this multivitamin powder and the fish oil too. It breaks my heart see him with the bad skin, few times he scratched himself so badly that I found drops of blood in the floor.

    Hi Dan, sorry to ask you a question not related to this video but I have trouble seeing. I would like your thoughts of worming young puppies, please. I have four Maltese pups now three weeks old and the vets recommend giving them a wormer just in case. Mother was tested for worms and she had none but received a small dose a couple of weeks before pups birth. What is your advice regarding worming such tiny puppies, yes or not at all...if the former, please help me to know what to do.

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  4 місяці тому

      I'd recommend not if mums negative for worms. I only de-worm if there's worms and vet de-wormer is poison which means side effects and possible immune system harm.
      Wait until they are older, say 12-16 weeks and simply keep an eye on stools for any signs. Then use a natural but strong de-wormer such as this one: Black Walnut, Clove & Wormwood Extract: amzn.to/2S8paBE

I will leave the puppies well alone. What I might do is wait until they are a good few weeks older and then have a worm count test done as I did for my older dogs...I bet it comes back negative but we shall see. Man this is such a tough journey. I’ve got so much in my head from all the research but I’m so new to this I keep getting it wrong. I started giving my dachshund b complex to supplement his liver and it’s just standard Nature Made brand from Walmart 😭 the vet said any kind is ok. I will buy natural alternatives now that you’ve recommended. I have a general mistrust for the medical industry, but they did save his life this week when they found his liver tumor. I owe them his life. I have a long journey and a lot to learn. I’ll be starting him on a raw food diet and occasional kibble recommended in your other video. I have to do what is best for him because he is my best friend. ❤

So I noticed she's sleeping in.. till like 12-1:00 pm? Like she's lacking in energy! And I've just started feeding her a meat/chicken/beef alternating with rice meal cos she didn't want to eat her dog food anymore? So now she's not digesting any vitamins as before in any form. So, I'm going to start giving her a powdered nutrient additive in her homemade food, Life Extension Dog mix. 🙂🙂🙂 Let's see how she does?

      And like Murtaza said, raw is good idea, as it allows more nutrition to be accsessed by the gut.

    What do you recommend for biting and scratching (not fleas). I believe it’s allergies

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому +1

      I recommend upgrading the diet to include fresh foods.
      The allergies are bought on by carbohydrates in the diet, possible auto immune issues from vaxxing and the diet you are feeding, especially kibbles, as most have 40%+ carbs.
      Here's some help:
      Dandelion Root Extract: amzn.to/33KWWT6 is a great way to normalise blood sugars, liver tonic, digestive aid, antioxidant and anti inflammatory. Helps to release a stuck system producing allergies, fatty cists, skin issues etc.
