    ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: How To Care For Senior Dog
    As diet has been proven to be the biggest cause of dog health problems, most often the issues your dog suffers come down to eating the same old pet food. The problem is that the food does not fulfill all the nutrition requirements your dog needs and over a long period of time, it starts to show up as chronic health problems.
    So today I want to give you 7 of the best ways to boost your senior dogs health and do it without changing anything... just add some extras to the food bowl, that's it!
    Number 1 is Enzymes - the vital missing nutrient from all canned and kibble pet food.
    Number 2 is Beta Glucan, the world's best natural immune system support with extensive research.
    Number 3 is Glucosamine - to free up stiff arthritic joints and prevent worsening of the condition.
    Number 4 is Omega-3 Oils, to balance the fats in your dogs diet
    Number 5 is Vitamin E - Natures powerful antioxidant and Cancer Scavenger
    Number 6 is adding an Unaltered High Quality Protein such as Proper Nutrition Seacure.
    And last at number 7 is Probiotics and Prebiotics - fundamental to effective digestion and immune system balance and something I highly recommend you add to every meal going forward.

      @@DanScott1 Dr Scott I am perplexed!! Two weeks ago we adopted a dog from a shelter where she was about to be put down. She had been pregnant and living on the streets for months and even had a rope tied around her neck that she had clearly chewed through to free herself from a horribly neglectful situation. I was told the pound employee had picked her up from behind a business where she had had 9 puppies. The animal shelter kept her there for three weeks and then they threatened to put her down so I went ahead and relented and rescued her from certain death. I felt sure she had heartworms and intestinal worms so I began giving her the black walnut/wormwood drops five days ago. Well, to my utter shock she has not shown any sign of even one worm in her stools. Heck, even my very pampered inside dogs seem to frequently have evidence of a worm or two here and there. I am absolutely perplexed by this. Can you tell me any logical reason that would explain why this dog who has been living in the streets for God knows how many months on her own would not have any signs of even one worm? I’ve continued the drops because I feel it might serve as a good starting point to either rid her of any potential Heartworms or at least help prevent them. Any opinions on this?

      @@benicio1967 She's had such a lean diet, alomost fasting that her inner environment is not conducive to worm health and perhaps expelled them all. Worms/parasites love carbs/sugars and she had none.
      The worm cleanse will at least have you know for sure she's now clean. Fasting is excellent for dogs, I like no food for 14hrs once weekly so my dogs get fed six days a week.

      Dan. You dear dear man!!!! i've been watching your vids for quite some time. My question is not about senior dog care but this was the most recent video you have.... My hubs and I are rescuing 2 beautiful 8 week 4 days old shih tzu puppies from a horrible 'breeder' here in our state. We are taking the two we fell in love with and then reporting them to the authorities (that is actually already in process....) We're committed to saving these two ourselves. Aware of what we are getting into. We are committed. Wondering what the first steps to take would be once we bring them home on Saturday. They have been kept in deplorable conditions. Exposed to the heat and BUGS...we assume they have been getting bitten just like we were when we went to visit them. (we were simply in search of ONE new puppy.and ran into these HORRIBLE people!...We can't personally save them all, but we can personally save 2 of them....there's a BUNCH of them...at least 30....not all of the same breed. but all small breeds) We plan on purchasing your healthy dog for life guide, but we need a starting point for these beautiful little PUPPIES that will be brought into a world of love (our home) this coming Saturday. I just ordered the Healthy Greens supplement off of Amazon. Is this ok to give the puppies? Just anything on a 'quick start' guide of sorts for these two beautiful little fur spirits we are rescuing. also. I was wondering what you think about the eye drop called CAN C? Is there a particular brand of 'puppy food' you can recommend that we can get before Saturday so we have HEALTHY food ready for them when we bring them home.. I apologize for all of the questions. But you were the only person I 100% trust to ask. I know you'll help me and my husband help them thrive! also wondering what things we should have them checked for when we take them to the vet..the 'necessary' things. Ofcourse they will have their fecal matter checked. I am anticipating they will both have runny poo and am wondering how to remedy that ASAP. Should we have them checked for Heartworm due to them having been kept in DEPLORABLE conditions OUTSIDE. Should we get bloodwork done? I know. I've got alot of questions.I don't have alot of trust on the medical vet practices...they misdiagnosed our previous shihtzu for YEARS of his life. (long story)...they love to blame everything on 'allergies'. They completely missed that he had hypothyroidism up until about 3 years ago....despite all of the various 'symptoms' they had treated since he was 5. Then things got really bad with his skin. 'yeast and allergies'.just like all your videos discuss..... they treated him for allergies and bronchitis for the past 2 years of his life. beginning of July we'd taken him in cuz he was having trouble breathing. we ended up losing our little guy. (very sad) They had been missing the fact that he had tumors in his lungs and around the lower part of his trachea..... they had been treating him for symptoms.not ever bothering to actually diagnose him. Freaking breaks my heart into a gazillion pieces. Your help/guidance is MUCH appreciated! I pray I hear back from you soon! GOD BLESS YOU!

      @@FullTilt444 Thank you for the kind words. I'm a little unconventional and don't just go with the flow, but I'm sure you know that.
      If they were my pups, I'd have them health checked but that's it nothing else. I would deal with any health issues using natural methods. Then I would start them on a raw food diet and a few balancing supplements only and build their immune system this way up to 6 months of age when it's now strong. I would NOT have any vaccines period (they create more problems than they solve).
      They are small dogs so raw is financially ok and the best diet nutritionally. My ebook Feed Your Dog Better has the raw diet also: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/
      You can get ready made raw meals for small dogs or make up your own meals with ingredioents you buy. Local specialist pet shops do the meals or look online. For example, raw green tripe is great complete nutrition puppy food they'll take to with gusto and thrive.
      I do have a One to One Dog Health Email Consultation and Support Service: healthydogforlife.com/one-to-one-total-dog-health-service/ if you want complete help and support, diewt plans etc.

      If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (best) soft boiled (ok) and preferably organic, canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better but not essential.
      If not liking to prepare vegetables then these freeze dried greens are antioxidant packed to help protect cells from free radical damage, cellular repair, support immunity, joints, skin issues, heart and eye health: Core Immune CARE Greens: shrsl.com/3uv18
      Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables and freeze dried greens.
      Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/UTI's/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
      If you want an excellent, VERY low carbohydrate kibble at just 5%, (high carbohydrates cause chronic inflammation, with itchy skin, yeast, poor gut health, ear infection, UTI's and hot spots, and nearly all kibbles are 40+% carbs!).
      Ketona has high protein at 47% (dogs thrive on proteins), correct fats at 15% and natural additives, so have a look at Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble. I recommend still adding the fresh foods even with the best kibble.
      By introducing fresh foods, really lowering carbs use, introducing greens, omega 3's, proteins and a better more suitable kibble, your dog will respond with healing and improved health over the next 12 weeks.
      Some must do's:
      Zero vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues rife from over vaccination)
      If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i
      Very low carbs in diet, 10% or less (cause of inflammation, poor gut health and later, cancer) No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives (always!)
      Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it.
      NO white foods ie white rice, potato, pasta..
      And to get the ball rolling quickly, give CBD a go as it may just relieve the back issue in days: healthydogforlife.com/CBD
      3 Main Options To Fix Inflammation:
      Astaxanthin is a powerful antioxidant: amzn.to/3Yx9Z10
      Turmeric, containing curcumin, is a powerful anti inflammatory: amzn.to/3IVUVUX
      Turmeric Organic Powder: amzn.to/3xgEtcu (1/8 to 1/4 tsp per day for every 10 pounds of body weight)
      Omega 3 oil helps relieve joints: Hemp Seed oil: amzn.to/3vDdtjX

You mentioned not feeding cooked bone of any kind so I wonder if that includes bone broth. I slow cook a chicken and it makes a jelly-like broth. I skim off the fat and give her half a cup with her meals. I thought that would be healthy for her.

      I took a look for you. It's pretty average dog food with the usual high carbs, the listing they all don't show! My best choice for kibble is Ketona Kibble: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble
      It's a premium pet food but it's 47% protein and just 7% carbs. Dogs are best on 10% or less carbs to stop allergies, leaky gut, skin conditions, diabetes, itchy skin etc. And the high protein is great.

    Hi Dan, I love what you are doing so thanks for teaching us and saving our pets’ life. I intend to buy all the products you recommended, yet I’m confused how to schedule them daily. I have a 10 years old Golden retriever boy- 80lb- who is in good health and no issues overall, just a bit of stiffness lately when he gets up but he moves, runs,jumps normally. He’s on cocked home food diet from the start. I will be grateful if you could enlighten me and give the right directions on how to use all these supplements beside the green Vibrance, MCT oil, and the golden paste. Thanks Again😊

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому

      Thanks Dalia. The Golden Paste will work great for the stiffness:
      There's also a turmeric paste that's proven very effective: Golden Milk Paste
      Use powdered turmeric. 1/4 cup turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon fresh black ground pepper from whole peppercorns - 1/2 cup filtered water. Heat in a sauce pan, stir constantly until it becomes a paste... just a few mins. Then add a teaspoon of the paste to a cup of coconut milk heat stirring constantly until nice and warm. ( Can use n coconut milk) you can add a little raw honey to taste. store the rest of the paste in a small container in the fridge. Lasts two weeks in fridge, then make a new batch. Take several times daily as it quickly leaves the body. Make sure to rehydrate too. And best taken between meals but can add to food. Large dogs can start with 3/4 teaspoon per day.
      There is also a liquid extract that works well too, for greater convenience: amzn.to/3JFrLLk
      PRODUCT LINKS:
      Live Enzymes: amzn.to/2ksvlx1
      Mushroom Complex (Beta Glucans): amzn.to/3tpBOuK
      Glucosamine - amzn.to/3wIWbVl Industry standard for arthritic dogs, take daily for life. Add to food.
      12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6 Great Omega3 oils for greater bvalance, add to food 2x tsp.
      Hemp Seed oil: amzn.to/3vDdtjX Extra Omega 3 oil, add 1tsp to all meals.
      Proper Nutrition Seacure for Pets 100gms - amzn.to/3wBaj3Z Not needed if giving a home cooked food diet with meats. I do recommend adding in some raw eggs though, 1 per meal.
      Probiotics for (itchy/yeasty/ear infection) Dogs - amzn.to/3yoURqU soil based option, it's the strongest and best for dogs gut health. Add to meals.
      Start new supplements slow and small the first week.
      Fast your dog at minimum once per month with full 24 hr fast water only. Great health practice.
      Some must do's:
      ZERO vaxx once adult (auto immune disease issues)
      Very low carbs in diet 10% (cause of inflammation and later, cancer)
      No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives.
      Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it.
      NO white foods ie rice, potato, pasta..

My mum has another question please, she has a 11 year old Lab who got a minor muscle atrophy on his head few months ago but he is not in pain whatsoever also chews and eats normally, the vet said it might be an autoimmune issue or just because he is aging and lost some weight after diet, and he is reluctant to give him steroids and anti inflammatory drugs because of his age. Any advice on how to deal with this naturally, Just to not get worse Thanks again for your kindness 😊

      Keep the brown rice to 10% or less of food volume daily. Keep fats to 10 -15% (12%). Probably needs this greens for circulation and supply lots of antioxidants and betteer help the kidney/liver as this will stop the lumps developing. I take it your UK based? Let me know for links.

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  8 місяців тому

      Hi Glenda. For the dog? I'd feed a mostly fresh food diet so there's no wasted calories and simply take out 10% from each days food total for the month. Then next month, if further weight loss is needed, I'd take out another 10% for the month until the desired weight is achieved. This way it's slower and not affecting the dog so much but still losing weight slowly. Will have to be in good control of feeding and watch the numbers.

      Thank you for your reply & suggestion Mr. Scott!
      I was researching the best supplements & diet changes for my 11y/o CKCS who has suddenly developed arthritis/swelling & a limp in her low back, hips, L leg.
      That's when I came across your channel, and am so glad since I greatly appreciate your focus on holistic care!
      She had always received a clean bill of health with no previous indication of joint laxity or dysfunction from her veterinarians, who I always asked to pay special attention to her joints. My own examinations didn't indicate either.
      My family is very upset & concerned, & need to do whatever we can to get her in a better position.
      We love her so much, she's our precious little girl & has brought so much love, fun & blessings. She's an integral part of our family & we want nothing more but to return all of that to her by doing everything we can to help her through this, to regain & retain as much of her health & vitality as possible, to make sure she has the least amount of discomfort possible while still being able to safely do the activities she enjoys within her new physical limits; and to give her the best chances of living a long, full & happy life with her family.

    Doctor Dan , what are your thoughts on Wysong dog food?

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому +1

      The wysong restore with pure meats is excellent and low carbs (carbs are inflammatory). The dry kibbles are ok but way too much fat (more than the protein). A dog needs 12-15% fat in the daily diet and as low carbs as possible, under 10% is best. The archetype is also good but watch for fat levels. You want the most protein a pet food can contain and at least 80% of that protein wants to be animal based.
      With all these, I'd still like to see some raw eggs, canned sardines and some part cooked and blended veggies in the mix by taking out some of the commercial food and replacing with fresh foods as dogs need live enzymes to help digest.

    Hey Dan! I'm in need of help. Since I cant find a video about it i'll just of directly and comment about it here if you dont mind. Is there a natural way of treating TVT on dogs? One of my friend's dog has at and the vet said they need to do chemo for it. Is there such thing? Please do reply. Thanks Dan

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому +1

      Yes, this is the conventional treament for TVT. Without treatment the dog will die eventually, however conventional treatment is useless and makes things worse and in that case, I'd have the dog euthanised es soon as pain occurs.
      For the natural way, I have two ideas: THC oil which is legal in some US states has good success with cancers and there's a 90 day protocol for this. And I've heard but not researched much about Artimisinin being effective on cancers.
      So the question is, can you get THC oil?

    • @noelvalpulmones
      @noelvalpulmones Рік тому +1

      @@DanScott1 i will try and find one. Hopefully we have. Aside from the treatment what's the food that should be given on this situation? They only feed the dog table food.

      @@noelvalpulmones Ideally a raw food diet but certainly a fresh food diet and no dry foods with sugars or carbohydrates (both feed cancer). So basically, lots of raw meat proteins, eggs, canned sardines in water, part cooked and blended veggies, some berries and lots of antioxidants which you can get from freeze dried greens: Green Vibrance: amzn.to/3cOgzLu
      I have an ebook with the raw food diet|cooked food diet which may be useful if they are commited to trying to recover the dog. But the THC is vital in this effort.

    Hi Mr. Dan, I enjoyed your 7 key nutrition supplements, thank you for the information. I have a 11 yr old, 12 lb Imperial ShiTzu . Within the last yr she,s developed skin issues and multiple ear infections. We feed her for breakfast 2 -3 Alpo Variety Snaps (crackers) and canned carrots, green beans, or peas. Dinner we feed her Cesar or Freshpet Select, and canned carrots, green beans, or peas (plus a senior vitamin). For treat dried chicken breast then one greenies dental treat before bed. My question is, do you recommend all the 7 key nutrition supplements or would that be too much with the above regimen? What would you recommend? Thank you for all of your hard work!

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому +2

      I recommend a transition to something like those raw freeze dried foods I just released a video on. No more vaxx either. This diet uses commercial foods I do not recommend. Stop the greenies and use natural teeth cleaning treats: Beef gullet sticks: amzn.to/3jTqu6a
      Beef trachea Treats - amzn.to/3HI06HC
      Beef liver dog treats: amzn.to/3sJ3DgX
      Halo Freeze Dried Dog Food - Turky: amzn.to/3Jq65S4
      Primal Freeze Drieed Dog Food - Chicken : amzn.to/3ZVZnKM
      You'll need less of those 7 too this way.
      And stay away from carbs, they cause inflammation, infection, uti's etc.

      Yup my dog had a reaction to her first puppy shot - thankfully the vet is an old Chinese man who cares more about the dogs and most of the time will literally tell me “get out of here nothing wrong with dog - or put betadine on and go home” half the time never charged me either lol told me I was being paranoid- he was right of course……and he set me on the road to treat my traditional Chinese Shar Pei holistic whenever I needed to - she was five weeks old when I got her and she is now 12 years old and completely healthy and still strong protective and likes to run and play a bit (less than before of course but she still has it ) I attribute this to that vet dr lee putting on her record and let the state know that she was NOT TO BE VACCINATED PER DR ORDERS - no rabies no more puppy shots no flea shots or anything else- my mom had a fit wanting to get her rabies shot but I held out - her dog was a pup when I moved in with and shaya was about 1-1/2 years old- she took her dog to the vet allllll the time for allergies to shots and everything else……her dog sadly passed away a year ago at only 7/8 yo and my pup is still going strong with me - she even got a dose or two of ivermectin when the so called plan demic was going on - as did I - and we both stayed healthy and remain so to this day - I don’t go to the dr unless it is a broken bone or something they need to treat there are so many other remedies and most are also good for our four leg best friends…….my pup took a dog attack yesterday when I was delivering amazon packages- a pit bull was at the residence and was able to put its face through the iron rolling gate - as I went to put my hand into the fence to give the package she saw the dog being ready to attack me and she literally jumped out of the window or the vehicle something she has not done in nearly two years of doing delivery jobs with me (she is my service dog so she is trained and tho she is older she has never let me down in her life) anyway she took the attack of that pit bull that would have been for me - it got her face and lock jawed her lip would not let her go pulling her into it’s yard or attempted to - attack lasted over 5min blood was everywhere and the owner three of them could not make that dog release it’s hold - they even got a stick and tried to put it in the dogs mouth and then into the dogs butt - i was prying it’s mouth and smacking it good on the nose. - it did not let go until her mouth was torn up and ripped - the owners knew that dog was dangerous and had no control over it also it placed its head outside their gate - so it grabbed my dog on the sidewalk from its property…..I have been using garlic sea salt and water to flush it a bit of neosporin and mostly coconut oil- the difference in the wounds is insane - I also did probiotics and curicurum - msm basically what I had on hand - it’s the coconut oil that is healing her I’m sure if it - and I did put some peroxide immediately after but that was the only application of it as it can be irritating and do more damage- her lips of course are meaty tho she is a bone nose Pei she still has the extra skin that comes with this breed and the wounds seem on the outside not all the way through from the inside of the mouth- the photos of today vs yesterday are insane and proof that this is the way to handle these things- she got some extra cbd oil and a tad bit of a Xanax tab immediately after the incident- I will take her to the vet now only for legal reasons I will not allow them to treat her with any medication or even antibiotics- it’s been 24 hours and she is clearly still traumatized from the attack and amazon is standing behind me in this whole situation and I am now consulting attorneys- I know they are going to put this dog down or the dog willl pay for this but had this been a small child or small dog it would have pulled it through the gate into its yard and it could have been a very serious or fatal situation…..I admonished the owners for the dog not understanding the release command and they told me that the dog was untrainable and had always been like that - RIDICULOUS ANSWER WHEN THE DOG CAN REACH A PUBLIC SIDEWALK- I imagine the neighbors give a wide berth to their property when walking down the street but I also wonder if anyone else has been harmed by this dog’s irresponsible owners - see I never saw a pit lock jaw attack in person and it was insane to witness that dog heard nothing just tasted the blood it’s eyes were registering nothing and it was pulling my dogs face through the gate - like that was it’s only goal to get the dog into his property……my fat face pup is smart enough to take a submissive stance even to this dog she was laying upside down when she knew she was losing this battle and the dog did not want to let go - truly terrifying and thankfully she seems to be healing up and I’ll get her some silver spray today from the Whole Foods but the sea salt and water flush and coconut oil is literally healing her before my eyes -
      The emotional part of this will be a longer process I think but she is going to be just fine …….she saved me from this dog attacking because I did not see it as aggressive and was walking up to it about to place MY ARM into its yard when my super dog leapt out the car window to my rescue - dogs are truly amazing and this one has been the biggest blessing to me ever - she came home with me at five weeks old and has not left my side in 12 years - that says more than the humans in my life lol
      Thank you for what you do - hopefully people will listen to your advice and break their programming of the pharmaceutical industry-
      I know that Shar Pei usually finance a vets businesses but mine has been blessed with a dr who set me on the path of her living her best life naturally and I’ll be forever thankful to him as well !

    And will definitely consider these supplements!

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  9 місяців тому +1

      Diet is the central key to health and the supplements support this. It can take time to transition some dogs over to raw food as their gut has to get used to new and different organisms to be able to deal with the digestion of different foods.
      My ebook covers 3 diets, raw, home cooked and the healthier kibble diet and you could start there as explaining a diet here is long: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/
      Here's some free diet help with using a low carb kibble:
      If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (best) soft boiled (ok) and preferably organic, canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact: 12 Pack Sardines - amzn.to/3vaXrj6), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better.
      If not liking to prepare vegetables then these freeze dried greens are antioxidant packed to help protect cells from free radical damage, cellular repair, support immunity, joints, skin issues, heart and eye health: Core Immune CARE Greens: shrsl.com/3uv18
      Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables.
      Always add a quality probiotic to improve digestion and gut health: (skin issues/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
      If Rabies is mandatory, use Protect after shots: (Humic & Fulvic acid) amzn.to/33P2P1i
      Very low carbs in diet, 10% or less (cause of inflammation, poor gut health and later, cancer)
      No vet drugs, there's effective natural alternatives (always!)
      Feed a healthier diet with at least 50% fresh food in it.
      NO white foods ie white rice, potato, pasta..
      And as your dog is suseptable to cancer, I'd give these Sacred 7 Mushroom Extract Powder - USDA Organic - Lion's Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps, Maitake, Shiitake, Turkey Tail, Chaga - amzn.to/3CLiI6y
      Great anti cancer prevention, 1/4tsp once daily in food.

      In acute situations a very short course of prednisone over 3-7 days can decrease the inflammation around nerves. Then, along with massage and herbs, the dog can be up and going again.
      Otherwise you make up suppositories with a strong CBD oil and use them that way. If you can get access to THC oil, it's perfect for suppository use (only) as it's strong.

      I'd also get some raw green tripe for something different to eat, dogs usually love and it's a complete food.
      If there's chronic diarrhea, somethings not right with the diet/meds/vaxx. I recommend zero vaxx.
      Remember the diet needs balance: 50% protein/bone, 15% fat and keep carbs very low. You'll need 10% offal (organs) too (they are the vitamins/minerals of the meal. No table fats/bones.
      The yellow bile is stomach juices from thinking about food.
      Try some Bone Broth (Brutus for Dogs): amzn.to/38AZ3uX good for picky dogs and nutritious.

    He recently got some x rays done and we have confirmed arthritis in both rear legs.
    I have him eating Honest Kitchen brand Whole Food Clusters. Grain free. I give him a small amount of brown rice and an organic egg every other day.
    I'm thinking of switching to a Stella & Chewy kibble.
    Are you familiar with these brand of dog food and if not give it a looksy whenever you have the chance too. I'm thinking that I have him on a great brand because it says "human grade" and it is pricey but marketing can be fooling. But I will say I have had him on many foods and even raw and he will choose this food every time, he is loving it.
    My concern is that now he is aging as our kiddos do and being that young with arthritis I want him to live his best life. Should I stick with the honest kitchen and add a probiotic and maybe add a vitamin or treat with Glucosamine & Chondroitin Sulfate to support hip & joint health. Let me know I'll keep an eye out. Honest kitchen, nothing special and around 40% carbohydrates (dogs need as less as possible as they caruse inflammation ie arthritis). The best kibble is Ketona at just 5-6% carbs and 47% protein with 90% of that as meat based: healthydogforlife.com/KetonaKibble
      I would still absolutely add some fresh food: If you feed kibble, the best thing to do first is remove 50% of the kibble from the bowl and replace with raw eggs (preferably organic), canned sardines (in plain water with skin & bone intact), some part cooked and blended veggies like broccoli, kale, green beans, spinach, brussel sprouts, bok choy etc and some meat proteins such as chicken meat, even better.
      Now your dogs getting live enzymes, probiotics, Omega 3 oils, the highest quality proteins and nutritional assimilation from eggs (100%), and antioxidants, minerals and vitamins from vegetables. Always add a quality probiotic: (skin issues/yeast/itchy dogs) use this one: amzn.to/3yoURqU and for all other dogs use this one: shrsl.com/3uv7l
      Definitely give the dog GLM or green lipped mussel for the back legs to work better: amzn.to/3jAciys (one a day).
      Give Glucosamine - amzn.to/3wIWbVl too.

      @@DanScott1 awesomeness!!! Love the advice thank you very much! I checked out the Keto kibble and it does seem amazing I can't believe the amount of carbs wow. I also did the Stella Chewy comparison it seems like it is a great kibble contender just by the chart that the site has at the link that you shared Dan but there's quite a few Stella and Chewy kibble options so I'm uncertain which. I've seen the Ketona but never looked into it until you mentioned it! I'll see if he likes. I will be following your advice on the veggies blend guarantee especially adding sardines!! He's never tried but I've given him one with EVOO he didn't even try it lol. I have given him most of the veggies that you listed besides spinach and broccoli but not consistently. He's going to love this! I look forward to his happiness! 1M potency, three times daily for three days, that's it.
      Never use the vets and conventional treatments, there are several natural treatments for dogs that work. Try this homeopathic treatment first as it's been successful in getting 'negatives' for dogs previously testing 'positive'.

My mate says he has hay fever and gives him piriteze, saying it clears all his scratches and rashes up. I have said go vet and get antibiotics. But he says he knows cus he has been treating him for 7 years. I'm concerned for his dog, as he gets no exercise at all. His claws are twice the size of other dogs, and you can tell it hurts him. • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  Рік тому

      Hay fever or allergies generally are the result of a compromised immune system which usually starts with bad gut health. Heal the gut, heal the dog.
      So it's probably poor diet, limited diet choices and potentially damaging medicine options. The scratching/itching is carbohydrate/drug related. The dog really needs fresh food in the diet and supplements/herbs to bring this all under control. Clipping the nails is pretty easy.

    Hello doc, I have a 13 years old Schnauzer (9kg), he stopped eating, vomited all food and had loose stols and became very lethargic and weak 2 weeks ago, right now he doesn't throw up, but he doesn't want to eat anything besides bits of boiled chicken liver, his bloodwork showed elevated protein, elevated leukocytes, and neutrophils, as well as urea of 35.6 mmol/L, Creatin of 449 micromol/L, ALT of 364U/L, AST of 143 U/L, alkaline phosphatase of 1560 U/L, and dehydration. The vet told my family that the medical treatment is expensive and probably won't work, so to put him to sleep but I refuse, I think he still got a chance, 2 days ago, I bought the milk thistle you recommended and gave it to him, I've been giving him water with a syringe, he doesn't want to eat still, so I don't know what to feed him, today I will make him some bone broth and kefir and see if he wants to eat it, we feed him the kibble diet all of his life and he now refuses to eat it. I don't know what else to do, my parents don't want to spend money, I'm a student in Mexico and really want to help my precious dog, what should I feed him or try? Any more Home remedies ? There are no supplements of enzymes for dogs or probiotics for dogs in here. Thank you so much for your help doc, you gave me hope that I can still give my dogs some more time of a good life, I really want to help him and don't want my family to put him to sleep but he needs to show some recovery or else they will :'( my email is chelinis2065@gmail.com

      Here's what to do: Transition the dog to an all raw food diet.. no kibble!
      So feed some raw meats, any type, some raw eggs, canned or raw sardines or other small fish and plenty of part cooked and crushed/blended veggies like kale, cabbage, brocolli etc
      Start small and slow so he can get used to raw food by mixing with current food or if not eating, the bone broth and kefir is perfect, then when that's ok, ease in the raw food.. blended if you have too.
      No dry food, no drugs, no vaxx. Use some plain coconut water to drink but mostly normal bottled water..gotta keep him well hydrated!
      If you have dandelions growing, use the leaves as part of the veggies for the kidneys. Continue with the milk thistle, 4 months on 1 off.

      @@Elizabeth-ju2tl Well done. Start by mixing cooked and raw, mostly cooked to raw and do this overa week or two, to eventually be all raw as his digestive chemistry has to adapt to all raw first. Don't worry about bacteria, dog stomach acid is too strong. Yes give chicken and cow liver, it's the vitamins and minerals of the diet, 10-15% of meal total. Raw is always best as heat diminished the nutrition quality, so why waste it.
      Start small with the dandelion leaves and build up, no cooking them. Yes can make dried leave tea also. While fresh, wash to clean, chop up and add 1 tsp per day.

I have tried a few of his recommendations like that Vital Green supplement which I continue to use for us both. I have tried his probiotic supplements only because my brand from Dr. Karen Becker was out of stock, and when they are back in stock, I go back to her products. Now I must admit his recommendation on those Mushrooms looks good and I am out of Dr. Becker ‘s brand, I think I will try them just to give variety in my dog’s diet. Her mushrooms are different from his and hers are fermented so I will try them for variety and go back to my brand next time he is out. It doesn’t hurt to try them out, and yes he does get a percentage of the sale, which doesn’t cause any additional cost to you. That’s ALL of the UA-camrs doing when they say “I will leave a link in the description box below.” They ALL go to Amazon and you are supporting their channels and it’s nothing wrong with that because I appreciate all the information that I get from all of them that I subscribe to. Just food for thought. Enjoy your holiday weekend with you family and fur baby/babies.

Remember, many senior dogs allready have health issues that these supplements options help with to stop relying on very expensive vet drugs and antibiotics.
