Happy Friday! I am super excited to share a recipe I have been making for my dog lately! I plan to experiment more - so let me know if you would like me to share more homemade dog food recipes. XO Dani
Great recipe, so yes, more please. I have a fussy dog and she enjoyed it. I forgot the egg and black pepper, but added a bit of apple, parsley and sage. She didn't mess around eating it!
I lost my dog two years ago from cancer. I have thought for a long time now that dog food, like human food, is far too processed. I have just got a delightful puppy recently and I am going start making her home-cooked food. Thank you.
Was reading your comment, sorry to hear of your loss. But was wondering if the pug pic was of old or new. I just lost a pug( i called my lil brother) about 2yrs ago as well. But either way adorable pic.
@@charliesmomma7402 i'm sorry for your loss. it's hard, I know I lost my Silky two years ago, it helps to get another one, as they all need love, and equally give so much love: Again, I'm sorry for your loss.

My dog wasn’t feeling good and had diarrhea. I made this recipe and she was feeling much better in just a few days. Thank you so much for teaching me how to cook for my dog. For years I made fun of people who did this but I am now a believer!
Once you learn what goes into commercial dog food, you can't forget. I learned many years ago that ALL supermarket dog food use horse meat. And If the ingredients don't mention which 'MEAT' they are using, you can assume you're fbuying horse by-products. they use parts that have no nutritional value, like ground up intestines, hooves, literally every part of the animal. The only reason they add vegetables and jelly, is so humans find it more appealing when feeding their dog. if the food looks disgusting, we stop buying it. But it's common knowledge euthanised racehorses get sold to abbotoirs, and then manufactured into dog food. it's NASTY stuff. If you can't be bothered cooking, it's better to buy the more expensive brands that use beef and chicken proteins.
Let’s be fr, this food and all the processed junk both our pets and us have been lied into eating for necessity, is ultra processed poison. Never again
Update - I made this for my three doggos, and they gobbled it up. They were on strike and didn’t want to touch their Costco kibble anymore. So I’m mixing this with the kibble, and they loved it and look so happy now. 😄Can’t thank you enough, thanks for the recipe! It’s so healthy!
Yeah my puppy as stopped eating her kibble like she used to (one cup fir breakfast and one for dinner) now she just eats half that and i have to remind her to eat or she'll get distracted lol So i started looking into stuff like this to mix with her food I feel bad bc kibble 24/7 but be boring for her
I really appreciated your UA-cam channel because I just adopted a 15 month old English pointer with Pyrenees and my wife passed away in August of 2023. And this dog is my soulmate and I want him healthy and happy. He’s so amazing. I thought I want to be able to feed my dog the food 5:21 that I would eat myself and not dog food that you buying a bag. It’s just him and I.
our housekeeper has been cooking for our 3 dogs for years. None of them have ever eaten store bought kibbles. we cook chicken breasts, chicken liver, sweet potatoes, then juice carrots, spinach and kale. (much healthier than cooked, and adds moisture as it is juiced). add rice, mix the whole thing up. We make 30 lbs at a time once per week. thanks for the tip on the turmeric, i will give it a try.
Why don't you just give your dogs their species specific diet of fresh raw meat, fresh fat and fresh raw bones ? Ever wondered why dogs and cats in the wild don't get metabolic syndrome chronic ailments and cancer ?? Commercial pet food has the same things as processed human foods - Seed Oils, Sugars, Carbs, Processed Chemicals and Oxalates.
If that's how your dog food looks I can't only imagine what a people meal looks like, your family is lucky to have you. Awesome thank you for this because I love my dogs.
I make a meal for my pup and myself very similar to this except the egg and I use chicken thighs or breasts though ground would still be appetizing enough. I mix with his kibble since he's a Akita and growing about an inch a day at this stage. I love sweet potatoes so does he as well as carrots. It's great because I've got lots of extra canned food so he gets green beans, kidney beans, carrots, pumpkin and much more. I make up to 4 meals at a time for him. Things like ground flax seed, turmeric, use some black pepper to make it effective, ginger and I'm learning more and more important foods everytime I study.
Cooking for my puppy has gotten her health back since she had parvo and almost passed away. It took me 3 days of no sleep and round the clock care to keep her alive but now I see the importance of a puppies/ adult dogs health!
Love your dog food. I live in Thailand and we always cook dog food for our dogs. Normally, we give them rice, meat (like chicken or pork liver), and veggies. We also often give them our leftovers like eggs, vegetables, soup, milk.)
I made this for my puppy who actually turned one today and he LOVED it! One of the first things I noticed is that his poops aren't nearly as stinky and he has even more energy! He went back to his bowl 4-5 times to lick it clean. I am giving up the store bought food for this and I bought a homemade dog food cook book yesterday on Amazon. Thank you for this easy, healthy recipe :)
We started making our own food 2 years ago. we use rice, frozen veggies, frozen fruit, either black or kidney beans and some kind of meat, our entire family are hunters and fishermen so we have alot of wild game meat, we've even used the frozen swai/tilapia/whiting fish and our dogs love it. The key is to stay completely away from canned veggies, fruits, and meats because they are so salty and soaked in preserves from the time they are canned until you open it and you can never get them completely clean. The only thing we do different then the video does is we bake ours. We baked the meat in a metal strainer and the add it in a pan with the rice, frozen veggies, frozen fruits and cooked beans and baked it all together for 15 minutes. The most important thing is learn what they can't eat and if you have a question google it. we do a pound of rice, a pound of meat, 2 cups of cooked beans, a bag of frozen veggies (peas are our dogs fav's), a bag of frozen fruit (ours love Blueberries and Strawberries) and i also make up a bowl of chicken broth using the bullion cubes to pour over the food and then warm in the microwave before giving it to them, our dogs are spoiled and won't eat it cold, just make sure it's not too hot, just warm to the touch.
My dog is 2 now but I got him as a puppy and I used to hide when I eat bc I felt so bad w him watching. So one day I decided to also cook for him and we been enjoying meals together since. Really helped w the bonding too!
My husband & I have recently decided to start incorporating things like this in to their food & eventually getting them on food I cook for them…I just don’t trust “over the counter dog food” anymore…this is great information…thank you
I love this and believe that an entire channel devoted to homemade dog food is a good option, it is so needed. I love your regular channel, I have recently gone KETO and any recipe ideas that you have for the keto diet are most appreciated. Love your healthy , vibrant and positive energy!
all i’m gonna say is… if your dog isn’t eating make this! my dog is 14 yrs old and has a big size tumor on his stomach which makes him not want to eat. he also is a super picky eater where he won’t even eat rice and chicken without some flavor. this made his day and he will forever be getting homemade meals! thank you!
Yes more recipes please! I've started making our 13 year Beagle/Bassett food about 6 months ago. She loves it. I cook our brown rice in the instant pot and the rest on the stove.
Your kids are so cute, just adorable, so is Charlie. I cooked similar recipes for my senior dog and youre clever adding Tumeric (and a pinch of pepper to aid absorption) Turmeric has many health benefits and is proven to relieve inflammation from arthritis. Good job Mom!
Thanks Dani! I'll definitely make it. I've been cooking homemade food and let me tell you, my other dog's bloodwork improved so much just with healthy food! My former Vet was shocked. Food is medicine for sure. Can't wait to see your dog treat video too! Charlie is adorable and kissable!
I just wanted to thank you sooooo much for this recipe!!!! We just got a 15 week old German Shepard Black lab mix puppy, we didn't want to give him the dry store food all the time. I came across this video and decided to try it out with our pup, he absolutely loves it. I made 3 batches, we added 7 blueberries to each serving. Thanks again! ❤
I like to make homemade meals for my puppy…using beef, chicken, salmon, sardines, turkey, or pork as the main protein, then adding different veggies, parsley, brown or parboiled rice, sweet potatoes, etc. I made this recipe for my Pomeranian/Chihuahua 11 month puppy. She absolutely loved, loved, loved this meal. I apportioned about 16 meals (she’s a small dog…about 1/3 cup per meal). Gave some to a friend who said her dog really liked it a lot! Thank you for posting your recipes in UA-cam…a Subscriber forever!
I was just making this recipe for my pregnant momma dog who wouldn't eat her kibble before whelping. Though I didn't realize it was an official dog recipe. I had no idea there were dog recipe videos before now! I just cooked what I had on hand that was safe for dogs. Instead of turkey I use ground venison (bc we have a freezer full!) And omit the spinach bc of oxalates. Some days I use quinoa instead of rice. You can top it with some canned pumpkin as well!
I have been making ground turkey, brown rice or pasta, carrots, blueberries etc for my 3 dogs. I never thought of tumeric or spinach. I have also from time to time added sweet potatoes. I appreciate your sharing your recipe.
Love this! I cook sometimes for my oldie but goody Mac the rat terrier. He loves carrots, spinach, quinoa or rice, peas and any kind of beans. He is a rescue and he has really bad teeth (never could afford a doggie dentist). He's more active and lost weight from my cooking. And I agree with comment below, dog food is processed and the good stuff is pricey. My 10 year old Pitt died of cancer & that's when I started cooking for Maki. Thank you for the tip w/ TURMERIC & EGG! I also give my cat wild caught tuna in water 2x a week.
I have been using this diet for almost a year. I add a few more eggs and make a bigger batch three times the meat. I also use egg shells which I bake for a few minutes in the oven after washing them. I grind them up into a powder and add a table spoon to 3 lbs of meat. Also add sunflower oil at the end.
Dani it’s great you’re encouraging people to cook for their dogs instead of buying kibble. However, that is way too much rice (carbs), could use more eggs or add raw eggs at feeding time. Salmon oil can also be added. Garlic is not toxic to dogs unless given in high quantities. Reason for dog food recall years ago. I would add organ meat and a few other things. Dr. Becker is an amazing resource. I do not cook my dog food. It’s ground up and frozen, thawed and fed. Never had an issue.
Agree! Rice should be substituted for eggs, organ meant and omega 3s like sardines (in water). Maybe 1/4 cup of rice but even better sweet potato if you’re looking to add volume to the recipe and some Carbs. Way too much rice! Nice start though but pls reduce the amount of rice and add other ingredients needed!
I made this for my very picky eater! It took some playing and coaxing but once she started she ate every bite! She doesn’t eat out of a bowl YET. Had to put it on your favorite eating towel, but it worked!!!!!
We home cook for our two dogs and love seeing others do the same. Every time I plate up their food I am proud at how BEAUTIFUL and HEALTHY it is. It's REALLY pretty!!! My hubby & I would be better off eating the same thing. People Chow! Thanks for sharing what you do for your dogs.
This is a great recipe, I make it for my dog all the time now and just use different meats in it as well as change up the vegetables too. Shredding the veggies, what a great idea! She loves it. I also add a high quality kibble in it to make it stretch a bit longer. Thanks for sharing this great recipe! 👍
I’m sorry about your dog. I hope Charlie is one of your dogs currently with you. We also lost one of our pups that way. We now have just two, but one is super picky about her food. Thanks for putting this up for us to see.
I've been cooking my lab's food for years. Some things I add nutritional yeast, chia seeds and occasionally ground flax seed all extremely healthy. He loves my cooking. Thanks for your helpful videos.
@@leslieh1051 There is no one set recipe. Look at calorie count of what you add then divide it by number of servings. I started cooking my dogs food because he was always licking his butt add a can of pumpkin and it keeps his anal glands from itching. Usually use 4 chicken breasts a pound of ground turkey 6/7 cups of frozen vegetables 5 tablespoons chia seeds or ground flaxseed for fiber a tablespoon of bone meal a glug of olive oil a couple tablespoons of nutritional yeast of course the canned pumpkin. I use an immersion to blend everything except the chicken and I finely shred that. Hope this helps.
@@leslieh1051 Our vet is thrilled that at 9 years old my lab maintains a weight around 80 lbs and acts like a puppy, very muscular. Calories make no sense to me if I can achieve nutritional levels desired with less than 2000 calories a day, great for this 60 yo woman. I wouldn't throw garbage in my body or dog's just to achieve a calorie number.
Hi Dani, Loads of thanks to you. Why? Because: 1. I am a hopeless cook with no cooking interest at all. 2. I love my 7 years old dog who till date has never eaten anything else other than Chicken, Eggs, & Rice or the readymade expensive food for dogs in the market. Also, he doesn't like to eat anything else. 3. I don't like going to the kitchen but my love for my dog & your recipe made me go there. 4. Now, I am mostly in the kitchen making this recipe. 5. My dog loved it from the day one & leaves the bowl spotless after the meals. Thanks again. God bless you.
Yes yes yes. Cooking for my 🐶 🐶 is a perfect thing to encourage myself to eat better. Thank you please continue this, even if you need to make a special channel for it.
Iv been cooking for my dogs for years you have to make sure that you had a multi vitamin and plus b complex and bone meal and more don't forget because you don't want your dog to become Deficient in vitamins, but beside that I really enjoyed your video!good job on transitioning your dog!
I have been cooking pumpkin, mashing it and adding cooked chicken a little canned meat and some dry food. Just small portions, my Bichon friez loves it. She is 13 &half and just had her cruciate ligament operated on. Doing fantastic. Love your recipe. xx
Yes I would love to see more of these videos. My dog was recently diagnosed with a condition that she can't eat grains. I have swapped her to a salmon based dog food but this could be a great addition to her diet. Can't wait to try the recipe. Please, please make a treat video. I have been searching for a easy one that is also healthy. Love your channel.
Out of curiosity can she eat potatoes/sweet potatoes? Also sardines are a good alternative to salmon since they're very similar nutritional, also contain tons of omega fatty acids, have less mercury, and are cheaper on average, same goes for anchovies, mackerel, and herring. Muscles and oysters can also be good since they have tons of minerals like zinc. Depending on where you live fresh may be cheaper then canned but both work and if you get sardines packed in oil you an chuck that into their food too.
Add an omega 3 oil and some one or pasture raised egg shell ( ground) I buy canned sardines in water from Costco and put a couple in one meal per day. I love turmeric and do the same. I also get organs like hearts and livers from the butcher to add to the food at the very end, like how you did with the egg as they shouldn't be overcooked.
Thank you for all the hints prior to going full scale switch. We are doing some of the same and our two elderly "pups" are doing better. These two fluffers have actually been feeling better than they have in years .. Thank you for the advice and recipes. I am convinced that full scale cooking for them is better and healthier than any brand on the market ❤
I relate to all these answers. Both my cavaliers died around 8 years old.Far too young and both so deeply loved and missed. Then I looked at what they had eaten. All commercial dog food has the warning:Dog food only:Unfit for human consumption. Finally the penny dropped. Why did I feed them food that was unsafe for me?So when I get my new cavalier puppy I will cook all her food. She will only eat food that I can eat.We tend to believe what manufacturers tell us.But ,just as with our children, convenience comes at a price to their health.Dogs deserve healthy, tasty, real food,as unprocessed as possible. In the long run you will save on vet bills and have a happier dog.
i do the same thing here, ground turkey and veggies, the veggies i eat that week, what ever choice, he gets on top of his food, i use Pure Balance Salmon and pea as and under, take care Dani
I LOVE this! I don't have a dog, but I have always said to my friends who do have them, that it has to be so boring for dogs to eat the same things everyday. I think this could be a great series for the channel. 🐶 🐕 🥕
I believe my dogs have skin allergies like yeast and I believe it’s from kibble we’ve tried a few different dog foods and I think it’s from corn? My male has it the worst. I’ve been adding the turmeric and black pepper to help with the inflammation. Omg these dogs love their homemade food!!!❤❤❤ they act like they aren’t getting enough but I’m sure they are they just want to sit nearby and wait for more lol and if I get up and start working in the kitchen they keep coming and checking for more in their bowl
I do 1/4C-1/2C rice, a splash of ACV, one egg, and a handful of Blueberries one a day or every few days as kind of a treat meal to change up her normal kibble. It’s her favorite and her coat looks so lucious and full
I've made homemade dog food in the crockpot for my dog after his open stomach surgery (he refused to eat his dry food at the time and canned good was getting super expensive). One crock pot would last him a week...it just got to be too much for me! But I respect people who do homemade dog food consistently! I do make homemade treats for my dog though! Much love!
You recipe is great. I am making this too for my Lab. He is 9 weeks old and he loves this food. I did not Zuccini, but all other ingredients were added and ground turkey replaced with chicken drumsticks (cut into small bits).
Kale. Everything that I've ever read has said that kale is so nutritious for dogs. Most leading health foods for dogs, like Farmers Dog include kale in their recipes.
@@monetarymeerkat as would then spinach and other cruciferous vegetables, which are listed as healthy and recommended foods for dogs here, so that doesn't seem like a very reasonably plausible objection.
@@hahna77 kale is an unnatural food for dogs. Same with spinach. High in oxalic acid/phytates which prevent the nutrients from being absorbed. Replace them with green beans. Much better option or peas in moderation
@@monetarymeerkat I actually agree with you to a certain extend, and that was actually my point. I believe that both kale & spinach can be harmful if not only given in moderation, for both humans and dogs alike, but healthy in small amounts. Same with things like starfruit. I was just trying to point out that the lady that states kale being harmful, then goes on to promote spinach as a healthy ingredient.
@@hahna77 oh true true i understand you now. I’m glad we can agree to a certain extent! But yes so long as it’s in moderation, it can be apart of a healthy diet for both humans and dogs, just as you’ve stated :-)
My dogs love liver or kidney with broccoli and they LOVE peas! With brown/basmati rice. I don't use rice very often as I need it to benefit them when they get the 'summer shits'. Also they go crazy for sardines mixed with coconut oil which helps their coat and itches.
After watching this video, I was contemplating making this recipe for my sweet Elvis. I kept procrastinating, but when his health was visibly declining, and he was not eating his regular food, I decided to try your recipe. Since I mill my own flour, I have an abundance of grains to choose from to cook for this recipe. So far, I’ve alternated between oat groats and spelt. The change in him was immediately miraculous! I will never feed him anything else again. Thanks for the great recipe.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! My dog is 13yrs old and has some health issues (Thyroid)and has gained so much weight 😭 I had been looking for something more healthy for him!! Thanks!!! I can't wait to try this!
My dog loves this recipe! I’ve made different versions of it using Turkey, Beef and Chicken. She has always been a picky eater but not with these ones. Great video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you for doing this easy and simple recipe. I made it for my dogs and they absolutely love them. I’ve recently started making homemade food for them and I appreciate your recipe. A good variety is nice. Thanks so much.
Another easy safe thing for my dogs that I've done is to make jerky for them out of arm roast and lean pork when it's on sale. I cut thin and either cold smoke them and/or dehydrate them to completion. If i do marinade at all for them i use a little apple cider vinegar, dog safe seasoning and pureed pumpkin, carrots, etc. It gives them lean protein, helps clean their teeth because it's hard and they love it. I've also made them 'soup' that I've canned made with several beef soup bones, beans, carrots and herbs. Basically bone broth with extras.
I also crush up the egg shells and blend with portobello mushrooms! Then cook into the mix. I just introduced the rice, attempting to fully remove my dog from processed dog food!
@@CleanandDeliciousDani dog treats should Not have any type of starch in them or preservatives so all anybody needs to do to make dog and cat treats is Dehydrate strips or Chuck's of beef or lamb or goat or venison or rabbit etc etc heck even a little chicken better to use turkey never pork with a Little pink Himalayan salt on them. That's it. No special stupid veggie treats or cooked hard bisquits as those Will have starches in them to stick together which turns to SUGAR which is Not good for your pets

Happy Saturday, I just finished making this recipe and both of my dogs DEMOLISHED. As soon as I heard their bowl clank, I’m like…👀ya done already …I know they loved it. Thanks.
Hey Dani, I’ve been following you for years and 2 days ago I got my own little doggie for the first time! So when your recipe popped up from my search I was thrilled because I trust you implicitly! I had decided to cook homemade food for my new fur baby and this looks absolutely fantastic…I can’t thank you enough!!! ❤
This dog food does not contain enough of many nutrients dogs need. There is no iodine, manganese, calcium, copper, etc.. Dogs are carnivores by nature (does not mean they can’t get benefits of plants) and need mostly meat, bone and organs in their diet.
Once again, a fabulous recipe and video! Thank you for always making your viewers feel good whether they "go all in" on a lifestyle change or simply give it a try here and there. My dogs would INHALE this yummy recipe! :)
I just finished making your recipe for my 14 year old schnauzer, he was watching me all the time, as if he knew it was for him , I gave him a half cup when cool, he loved it. Thanks for the inspiration.❤
Hi Danni Our 2 Jack Russell's have allergy problems and always scratching. I am going to do up this recipe this week and let you know how it goes. It looks super delicious and healthy. Also I will know what I am feeding my fur kids
Hi Dannii sorry for the late reply Spud and Cherry (our 2 Jacks) are loving their home cooked meals. They have stopped scratching as much and always look forward to dinner time. The 1st batch was made with chicken, scrambled eggs, brown rice and the turmeric, baby spinach and carot. I also added a plant based chicken gravy. It made up 3 Chinese containers full and was able to freeze the remainder. The last batch was with beef mince and they love that too.
Recently found a crockpot recipe. It saves so much time. I highly recommend. You can put all the ingredients there (including the rice!) and done. I mix kibble and homemade... half and half... that's where I am right now. But learning more as I go. :) Good luck, everyone!
I thought that dogs need some sort of bone meal or they lose bone strength. I’m sure the dogs love the way this tastes just not sure it’s good long term for a dog. They have different dietary requirements
My senior dogs health was declining so I tried this and she loves it . I was so surprised because she is picky and I have tried farmers dog etc and she still won’t eat those! I made mine with ground beef. She threw it up a couple of times when I feed her too much- possibly due to all her meds too. So now I feed her just a spoonful or two of this with kibble.
I've been cooking for my dogs for over 10 years. They should only have spinach once or twice a week. Too much is not good for them. Also bonemeal is very important per my Vet. You should add it to each meal. Food grade bonemeal. Never thought to put turmeric in the food. Great idea! Enjoy your channel!
My pup is 13yrs old. I have had her since she was 4 months old.. Recently she has gotten pretty picky with her food; she no longer wants to eat the same kibble she had been eating for years.I have tried several other brands of store bought food but she either doesn't like them or develops allergies. Financially, it's not going to be easy to start giving her human food but it's the least I can do in return for all the years of her love and companionship. I will definitely try your recipe.❤
Oh thank you 🙏. We share our home with a German Shepard. I have been thinking about cooking his food. Brings me comfort watching your video. I 👍 fit more dog food receipe. And if you make dog biscuits am in. Thank you for sharing 🥰
I've been making a similar recipe for my 4 dogs for years and they love it! Sometimes I add peas or green beans too. I haven't tried coconut oil, I usually cook the meat in a little bit of water which softens and flavors the dry kibble that's added in. I also add in a few squirts of fish oil.. when I make bone broth, I cooktheir food in that instead. making dog food this way is so much healthier and tastier than canned dog food/freeze dried/refrigerated tubes plus its cheaper.
Don’t forget to add a doggy high-quality multivitamin on top of that. Extra nutrients they need just like us. Not telling you what to do just sharing the results with my wonderful pet. Peace
Charlie is a lucky pup! 🐶 I've been buying Moxie's (my Maltese) freshpet food because "they" say it has to have specific vitamins and minerals. What is your take on this Dani? I always share my own healthy food with him... 🥰
It can also take eggshells rinse them boil them let them dry and grind them down to a powder and sprinkle that in the homemade food and it provides calcium
This is about the equivalent of what I eat each day and I decided a while back already to share my plate of food with my dog. I used to mix it up, but lately I just dish it and give it to her. Sometimes adding a handfull of dogpills. In the winter she get cornmeal with the food which fatten het up quite fast.
I love this because it's way SIMPLE! Others are more complicated which is fine but for starting out this is great for beginners! Thanks 😊 My pups already eat a healthy dry dog food with no fillers but this has still interested me!
Thank you for the video! I am going to mix up some fresh and add it to my dogs kibble! All 19 of them! 1 Anatolian, 5 Pyrenees, 2 labs, 2 huskies, 1 gsd, 2 pitties, a beagle, and 5 other mixed breeds I rescued. I go through 18 (44lb bags) of dog food a month.
Thank you for doing this! I have been running out of ideas to make meals interesting for our senior Shih Tzu’s. Yes, please keep on contributing with more creative ideas. Mandy from Tucson🌵
Thanks for sharing, Susan! I also hear carrot is good... My husband will add shredded carrot to Charlie's kibble, which we use when we run out of homemade food... great for digestion.
This is great. I have been cooking for my dogs since my last Beautiful pup came down with a cancerous tumor. I researched all the food and did not like what I found so now I feed my dogs whatever I am eating and it all very similar to what you just made. I just mix it in with a little high end healthy kibble and they love it. They are so healthy and happy and they def can tell the difference between what's good or not.

Mh dog wouldn't eat boring kibble too u gotta add some stuff sometimes in their food or switch meals with homemade
Yeah my puppy as stopped eating her kibble like she used to (one cup fir breakfast and one for dinner) now she just eats half that and i have to remind her to eat or she'll get distracted lol
So i started looking into stuff like this to mix with her food
I feel bad bc kibble 24/7 but be boring for her
I really can’t blame them for not wanting to eat stale burnt kibble
There is no way that stuff is pleasant. It’s a last resort avoidance of starvation
How do you break down the portion kibble vs homemade?
@@MariaAudioChick i do this now and personally i do about half and half but i also have to soak the kibble bc my dog won't eat em hard lol
Thanks Bro
Why don't you just give your dogs their species specific diet of fresh raw meat, fresh fat and fresh raw bones ?
Ever wondered why dogs and cats in the wild don't get metabolic syndrome chronic ailments and cancer ??
Commercial pet food has the same things as processed human foods - Seed Oils, Sugars, Carbs, Processed Chemicals and Oxalates.
@@adelarsen9776 as I said, I don't give my dogs ANY COMMERCIAL PET FOOD
Remove kale from their diet
@@TheREALOC1972, you're giving your dogs beans?
I only give my fogs green peas
Love your healthy , vibrant and positive energy!
all i’m gonna say is… if your dog isn’t eating make this! my dog is 14 yrs old and has a big size tumor on his stomach which makes him not want to eat. he also is a super picky eater where he won’t even eat rice and chicken without some flavor. this made his day and he will forever be getting homemade meals! thank you!

That is amazing! Thanks for sharing.
What did you cook, if you dont mind sharing? What was wrong with your dogs blood work?
I just wanted to thank you sooooo much for this recipe!!!! We just got a 15 week old German Shepard Black lab mix puppy, we didn't want to give him the dry store food all the time. I came across this video and decided to try it out with our pup, he absolutely loves it. I made 3 batches, we added 7 blueberries to each serving. Thanks again! ❤
Thank you so much for this! I was just looking into doing fresh food for my dog today, and this popped up in my feed. Praise God!
I don't own a dog but fr one dog lover to another...you're amazing for making this. The amount of ppl you will inspire with this is immeasurable 💙
Awe, thank you! I hope it's helpful and appreciate your kind words :)
This is just the right type of nutritious dog food recipe I’ve been looking for to make for my three rescue guys.
Thanks so much!
Quinoa has more protein too and is easier on the digestion. Rice can be constipating.
Maybe 1/4 cup of rice but even better sweet potato if you’re looking to add volume to the recipe and some
Carbs.
Yes, please more recipes for dog food and treats especially would be great. Thank you for your videos!
Thank you so much for this recipe. I just made this for my golden doodle and he absolutely loves it! Please keep the dog recipes coming.
This is a great recipe, I make it for my dog all the time now and just use different meats in it as well as change up the vegetables too. Shredding the veggies, what a great idea! She loves it. I also add a high quality kibble in it to make it stretch a bit longer. Thanks for sharing this great recipe! 👍
Thanks for sharing, I would love to see more recipes like this one.
I’m sorry about your dog. I hope Charlie is one of your dogs currently with you. We also lost one of our pups that way. We now have just two, but one is super picky about her food. Thanks for putting this up for us to see.

@@CleanandDeliciousDani I love this!!! When you refrigerate the leftovers, do you warn it slightly or just let it come to room temp?
Hello how are you doing
Hi Dani,
Loads of thanks to you.
Why?
Because:

Hello how are you doing
Iv been cooking for my dogs for years you have to make sure that you had a multi vitamin and plus b complex and bone meal and more don't forget because you don't want your dog to become Deficient in vitamins, but beside that I really enjoyed your video!good job on transitioning your dog!
Thanks, Sabrina! I appreciate your tips!
What kind of vitamin do you recommend
@@arthas640 sweet potatoes don't seem to bother her but regular potatoes do. Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely give those a try!
I make my dogs food with similar ingredients and in the instant pot to make large batches, then freeze.
So smart! I'm going to have to try that soon.
Dogs and cats in the wild don't get cancer and metabolic syndrome.
Dogs do best on a species specific diet of fresh raw meat, fat and bones.
i do the same thing here, ground turkey and veggies, the veggies i eat that week, what ever choice, he gets on top of his food, i use Pure Balance Salmon and pea as and under, take care Dani

Kale makes em gassy

I also add organ meats such as gizzards, hearts, and liver.
Gizzard and heart are considered muscle meat. Liver is organ.
Make sure they are cut up really small they are easy to choke on x
@@lucylu7885 Yes! Everything is run through a grinder.
I was gonna say that adding organ and muscle meat is very beneficial as well. Heart, kidney, liver, tendon and even green tripe.
I also crush up the egg shells and blend with portobello mushrooms! Then cook into the mix. I just introduced the rice, attempting to fully remove my dog from processed dog food!
Love it!!! I would really like to see the dog treats:-)
Good to know! I will be sure to share them soon. :)

Good luck, everyone!
Can you share some of the recipes?
I bought some none meal and kelp powder any more advice?
My pup is 13yrs old. I have had her since she was 4 months old.. Recently she has gotten pretty picky with her food; she no longer wants to eat the same kibble she had been eating for years.I have tried several other brands of store bought food but she either doesn't like them or develops allergies. Financially, it's not going to be easy to start giving her human food but it's the least I can do in return for all the years of her love and companionship. I will definitely try your recipe.❤

I recently read that it's best to add the fish oil right before serving in order to ensure they get the most nutrients from the fish oil
I just made this for my dogs and they loved it. I also ate a bowl myself and it was very good. Thanks

I did your recipe today and my dog loved it. I’m gonna order the books you recommended too. Thanks so much
Charlie is a lucky pup! 🐶
I've been buying Moxie's (my Maltese) freshpet food because "they" say it has to have specific vitamins and minerals. What is your take on this Dani? I always share my own healthy food with him... 🥰
Like calcium
It can also take eggshells rinse them boil them let them dry and grind them down to a powder and sprinkle that in the homemade food and it provides calcium
This video is 2 yrs old & I just now came across it. Wld you plz plz make more videos on cooking for dogs 💕
I would love to see more dog food & treat receipies !!
Me too
Thank you very much, I did order books and they are very helpful, also cook on low heat as that retails the vitamins and mineral in food!
Awww! Yay thank you for this! I've been wanting to make my own dog food...this is perfect!
Thanks 😊
My pups already eat a healthy dry dog food with no fillers but this has still interested me!
I put canned pumpkin in my dog food, it helps with constipation or urinary tract problems in older dogs.
Thanks for sharing, Susan! I also hear carrot is good... My husband will add shredded carrot to Charlie's kibble, which we use when we run out of homemade food... great for digestion.
Love the recipe!! Thanks so much for sharing. Would be great to see more dog food recipes too
You got it!
