Just wanted to say thank you. I've been sitting on two foam rolls for about a year. I followed your guidance and I think it turned out pretty darn good.
I did a similar thing with my boat but have used sika flex (marine grade) on all the edges to prevent water getting in and lifting the foam. It also works well to tidy up edges where cuts haven’t been perfect.
Awesome idea, and it looks great! Getting ready to redo the flooring on my 16ft tracker this winter and going to seriously consider this. I'd love to see how it holds up through the fall season if you could post an update on Facebook!
Great video. I wanted to ask about what appeared to be bumps or bubbles on the flooring. Were they on the deck of the boat, or were they bubbles during the application? Or maybe it was just the video. Has it held up well so far? Thanks again.
Those were where the glue was extra thick and not applied evenly . I had to take a kettle bell and roll it over those areas to flatten it out before glue set up. Otherwise yes it has held up very well! My only complaint is I can’t just spray the dirt out anymore . It requires a pressure wash or scrub with a brush .
Sure has ! There was one piece I had to glue down again after some dirt and sediment got under it . But i blame myself for not adhering that panel fully from the start . Other than that , the decking has held up wonderfully !
It has held up great! I’m actually getting a new driftboat in a week or two and I have already ordered the EVA foam to do the new boats floor with! Love it and it gets lots of compliments from my customers 👌🏻
Can this foam be applied directly to fiberglass. After fiberglassing the floor I plan on putting this foam down and there would be no reason to fill the weave prime and paint if the foam is juts going to go on top of it
Yes - the 3M adhesive won’t hold the EVA long term . Eventually I weather and dirt will cause that 3M to break down . The contact cement makes it more permanent.
It held up very well ! In fact I liked it so much I installed the same product on my néw driftboat with huge front and rear casting decks ! As for cleaning , I’ve found that a pressure washer is the best method to clean the foam deck now . Regular garden hose will get the loose stuff . But any dirt and grime that gets stood on and rubbed into the foam , that requires either soap and a brush scrubbed out . Or simply pressurized water ! I can clean both decks in about 2 minutes with a pressure washer and no soap at all . Love it !
I have a aluminum boat I’m building . Just curious of how the product is holding up . Is it staying adhesived in the seams ect good? Thanks for the video.
So far so good! My only negative opinion is they it’s now harder to clean dirt and mud out the boat . Either have to pressure wash or scrub to get it like néw shiny again . Other than that I love it , lots of compliments from customers as well.
Held up great so far ! My only complaint is the boat had to be pressure washed or scrubbed to get it really clean as the dirt does stick to the foam more than the old glass bottom.

Hi, year and a bit later, how is the cheap foam holding up? Has it stood the test of time?
Sure has ! There was one piece I had to glue down again after some dirt and sediment got under it . But i blame myself for not adhering that panel fully from the start . Other than that , the decking has held up wonderfully !
@@BlueRidgeMusky Thats promising! I am going to give it a go on the front of my Bertram 25. Save a lot of $$$. Thanks.
Hey i see it’s been 7 months since you posted the video. What’s your opinion on it after 7 months.
It has held up great! I’m actually getting a new driftboat in a week or two and I have already ordered the EVA foam to do the new boats floor with! Love it and it gets lots of compliments from my customers 👌🏻
Nice job Dude!

Yes it sure can!
How is it a year later? Has it held up good?
Held up great !
Was the contact cement necessary? I thought the padding g came w 3m adhesive?

Held up great ! The adhesive is still holding all of it down ! Was absolutely the best upgrade / mod I’ve done !
@@BlueRidgeMusky stoll feel the same way about it? I have a boat that could use this. What brand is it?
How is the floor holding up for you so far? Starting to quote out different options to redo my boat myself.

@@BlueRidgeMusky Awesome, good to hear. Good luck this season man!
Should got a template like cardboard
Made my own card board templates , if you didn’t watch the whole Video
How has this held up any rips in the foam?

Can’t wait to slime that shit up!
