Great video, Matt and right on time, too. I'll be putting eva foam in my Jon boat after i get painted and back together.I just got a hatch from you this week. Excellent craftsmanship 👍 Thanks, Matt
what is your recommendation when removing old carpet. Carpet on my boat it rolls into the hatch lids. once removed now I will have a gap. When installing the foam should I roll the edges?
Dude, that is sweet! The lights rock also. Good work! I’ve been looking at that color pattern for my 2019 1448. I prolly should de-foam the rear bench before the EVA install.
Looks good!!! I was literally going to email you today to ask how many sheets of HydroTurf you would recommend to do my Grizzly 1648? I don’t have the extended deck like you’ve customized there but I just want to make my boat not so hot when I’m on the water with my family. Just looking to turf the deck, bottom floor and the back deck.
Hello friend, I congratulate you for your explanation, I want to start that type of business in Puerto Rico, I already have a cnc router, I ask you, is there a website where I can buy the templates of different boats where I can buy the machine to make the templates?
Thanks the machine is called a prodium. They are expensive $35k. You might be able to get some cad files from someone but i really dont know man. Goodluck
Yes you could definitely put this in your pontoon. It is made for boats and water it's not going to be slippery. It comes with lots of different textures
I’m looking to redo my 1999 bass tracker pro team 165 with the red camo from tiny boat nation or the snow camo from Amazon… how many sheets do you recommend for the whole boat including inside hatches and under the seats ? They’re 94x43.5 sheets
@@TRICKEDTINS checking it out now! Definitely wish I could get it to ya! I’m going all aluminum replacing the wood floor and front deck with aluminum… sold my 2 stroke engine and repowering the whole boat with a 4 stroke tohatsu engine
How is EVA form to clean up. Can I easily get fish slime and blood off of it. Any manufacturers best for fishing set up. I've heard some are hard to clean.
Made for installation on metal, plastic, or fiberglass. You might be able to install it on wood if you seal it to where it is a smooth finish, but I dont recommend it
Brother here's a huge insider tip for your blades… Buy some Rapid Remover and pour a little on a shop towel and just literally press the dampened shop towel on your blade, wait 5 seconds and wipe it CLEAN!!!!!! That's the professional remover for venial wrap. When you strip a vehicle you will inevitably leave glue in many ares because it's just the nature of the beast. As well, to remove decking or ANYTHING with a sticky back, including 3M (which is the best glue on the market) you first peel a little bit and spray some rapid remover, let it sit for 15 minutes and peel it off! Of course GRAVITY is your friend, so you want to have whatever you're removing at a bit of an incline so that as you peel, the rapid remover slides down as far as it can stretch, at which point you give another spray, rinse and repeat. No more scraping and struggling, sore fingers or anything!… YOU'RE WELCOME!!!
I didn’t know you could wrap it around the edge like that. This is the first vid I’ve seen where they did this. I figured it couldn’t be done for some reason
So are the factory edges not straight? Also they recommend in the directions if you’re putting two seems together to pre glue them together to avoid any gaps. But I see you didn’t do that so am I wasting my time? Lol
@@TRICKEDTINS thanks for responding! My bow deck has no hatches BUT I’m on a budget so I bought two 23x 94 panels. My bow deck is 50x63. So my plan is to have 3 seams. I will cut the two panels into 50” lengths and then the extra 44”x26” piece I’ll use to fill in the width of the deck that I didn’t cover. Hopefully 3 seams won’t be to noticeable. Lmao
Really nice turf job, Matt, you did an awesome job of keeping the lines straight from bow to stern and your trim work is impeccable!
Thank you. I take pride in my work!
Nice job, it looks great. I'm buying that gator camo . Thanks for taking the time to instruct
Awesome good luck man. Thank you for watching
How do you do the edges where the vertical and horizontal meet and it stay on?
Very carefully 😆 it's a pain sometimes but it looks way better. Sometimes you have stubborn areas you have to set weight on for a couple days.
Thanks for your videos. What is the name of the color at 1:10? Black and white. Marble? Who makes it? Thanks man.
Hydroturf
@TRICKEDTINS Black marble? Thanks.
I want that black and white color of hydroturf at 1:10. Do you know what it's called? Sorry man. I'm working on a 1448.
@BrettM765 yeah I think so hit up Nicholas Kingston at Fabricsdirect4you.com
That's my dude!
As a craftsman, I can tell you that looks great. 👍🏼 nice work
Thanks brotha
You do nice work dude!! Really appreciate your patience and know how!👊🏼
Thanks man. Glad to help
How do you know exactly where the hatches are after you’ve covered it with the foam?
The hinges are a little taller. Start there and then you can slide the razor in the crack around the lid
Sounds like EVA can’t be left exposed. Would this be a bad idea on the bow of my aluminum houseboat?
It's good stuff but the sun is a beast. If it's going to be exposed 100% of the time It's not gonna last to long
Great info, bro! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks brotha!
Did you lay foam directly over the seat pedestal base or remove base then reattach?
I would like to integrate the deck lids with a foam sealing edge for cleaner look. Or run a bead of rubber around the lid. Not sure yet
I've thought about it, but with the compression locks and drain tubes, they channel water pretty well.
@TRICKEDTINS I just dug and blasted and pulled lead weights out of the drain ports. Stuff was plugged

Sweet brotha! Appreciate the support!
Is the hydro turf website the only place to get it, or is there another place to get it cheaper?
Fabricsdirect4you.com
what is your recommendation when removing old carpet. Carpet on my boat it rolls into the hatch lids. once removed now I will have a gap. When installing the foam should I roll the edges?
I hate carpet lol. To do it right you need new lids. If you give me measurements i can make them.
Dude, that is sweet! The lights rock also. Good work! I’ve been looking at that color pattern for my 2019 1448. I prolly should de-foam the rear bench before the EVA install.
Thanks brotha! Eva foam is definitely the final step.
Hi! Hello, great video!
Please advise me where I can order such cool colors of Eva foam?
Thanks. Fabricsdirect4you.com
Realy enjoy your builds. Yon sanded the Grizzly. What grit dod you use? Planning to install EVA on my 2072 Grizzly.
Thanks I think I used 80/100/150 been a while

I got a question about installing Hydro Turf. Is temperature and humidity a big deal when installing? Thanks!
Yes and yes. They both make a difference
@@TRICKEDTINS gotcha, thanks! I installed it at about 65 degrees.
wondering why the side was not straight from factory? Superior job really nice
Lol. Buit 100s never seen one that was perfect

I would save some money and buy your turf from Fabricsdirect4you.com TBN is overpriced and Amazon is cheap. Probably 4 sheets

The cheap Amazon stuff is no good. Use a name brand like seadek, hydroturf, orthodek, etc.
@@TRICKEDTINS thanks!
Great job brother, first time seeing your work. How much do you charge for a project like this?
Thanks brotha! They vary depending on the build. Hit me up on IG, FB, or email professionalwelding@gmail.com
I live at lake Pleasant in Az and have a friend that wants me to do some of this stuff and your video is a great resource.
You definitely know what you’re doing great work very informative video.

Virginia Beach. Yeah everyday lol.

Whatever you do. Cover your boat after installing this stuff! 1 year of being in the elements and it turns into the marshmallows from lucky charms.

Home depot doesn't sell EVA foam lol
Do you do work near west KY or do you know some one who does
Unfortunately not.

Choose your color wisely. Terminal tackle gets lost easily.
