Definitely wouldn't mind seeing more diy vids. Love this kind of stuff.
More to come! Waterproofing hatches next.
Welp. It's proven. You can watch Andy do literally anything and it's entertaining.
Exactly what i was thinking when i clicked onto this vid haha
Looks great Andy very professional job.👍🍻
I thought the same thing. I don't even have a boat, and I wouldn't watch this on any other channel. I'll watch Andy though!
Honestly
I just hope it lasts 2-3 years
Won’t be single for long with that Beautiful Deck 😅
Ha ha, lets see.
Love ya Andy love how far you've come inspired me just wanted to let you know I appreciate it.
That is awesome!
The new floor looks great Andy, can't wait for the other boat project videos 😀
Coming soon! Modifying my hatches soon.
Andy I lay vinyl and there’s tools we use to scribe but u made ur own I love it
Im good at making tools for jobs
Having just bought an old boat, I'm really looking forward to these videos.
I hope they help
Brilliant video, I think you should definitely have more of this kind of content. I've noticed you've got well rounded skills for diy in general and this type of information is always great to be out there.
I almost always fix snd build my own stuff. I have plans for something more like this.
So glad your brother's surgery went well! The boat is starting to look super nice! Have a great week Andy...
I want to make it super functional
Seeing your little car reminds me for Kel Knight….😂👍. Good job, looks great especially the colour (grey) suits the look.
Thanks! 👍 I thought brown was too pretty for my boat, ha ha
Looks good I put this stuff on the top of draws of a 4x4 gets used daily. Car is in the sun all the time cargo in and out every day. Has held up really good. Looks like the day I got it. Condensation comes through it from a draw fridge and there is no delamination at all. Best part is it is so easy to clean and no sand stuck in carpet. Should serve you well.
Sounds great! Will keep you posted.
Really good to see the old girl getting some TLC. Enjoying the videos as always Andy!
More coming soon! Modifying my hatches soon.
Lovely work on the boat, im so glad to hear your brother is okay!
Yes, very relieved
That's a powerful tow vehicle you got there!
Yes, one of few rated to 4 ton
Lithium will change your life Andy. They're amazing, great vid!
Hope so!
Good to hear the surgery went well. The foam looks great and I'll be keen to see how long it lasts in the NQLD sun. The tape however won't last and will become brittle and very hard to get off. I have used it in the NT sun and I'll never make that mistake again. When you try to peel it after being in the sun it just breaks into heaps of bits and the glue remains on everything. So I would change that before it happens to you mate. Maybe actual vinyl wrap. Material will be better
Good idea, I do have some vinyl sticker material.
@@Andysfishing yeah might work better. Just found the cloth within the tape perishes in the sun and yeah not fun to scrape it all off later
Awesome video mate
Watching your videos reminds me of the versatile use of butter knives. Cheap and great for all kinds of tasks from scrapers to oyster knifes. I cut them and make marking knifes. Thanks for the videos
Right on, butter knives are great.
I’ve done this with my old 14 foot Boston whaler. Removed carpet and did a nonskid paint on the deck and did water proofing of the front hatch. Fun times. 😃🤙🤙🤙 thanks for the video Andy hope your brother is doing well. Cheers
It makes for a much nicer boat experience
Excellent mate.
So much cheaper than buying a new boat.
Looks so much better Andy, it will be interesting how it stands up over time.
Fingers crossed!
Glad to see you and hear about your brother !
Me too!
Great job Andy on the Eva foam install .Just tried it for the first time on a little I have. Very fun project.
Great to hear!
Awesome info session mate, cheers for the ideas!
Thanks for the variety you give us mate! Love it!
No problem 👍
Thanks for the video Andy
Nothing better than a DIY. Came out looking great bud 👊🏽
More coming soon! Modifying my hatches soon.
Super. Great idea to put up a video on this (for me). The jig and sewing pins are a simple and excellent fix 👌🏻
I always look for fast and easy ways to do it
Slow diver - my thoughts as well !!
Great work mate. Being a Chippy and Builder I can really appreciate the workmanship Andy. Well done. Happy your bro doing well. Wish him all the best. Deano.
Thank you for that Deano.
Wow the new floor looks really good Andy!👍😃 I’m definitely looking forward to the other boat project videos. On another note I’m glad to hear your brothers surgery went well, definitely wish him a speedy recovery.
More coming soon! Modifying my hatches soon.
looks pretty bloody good mate
Yes, I'm very happy with it
Fantastic job Andy!!!! Looks really good so far...cant wait to see it out on the water again....cheers!!!!
Me too.
👋👋👋Andy, good to hear your brother is doing good🙏 As allways great vid you Allways keep us going!!!! 👋👋👋
Cheers KC
I'm liking the direction of the video Andy. Thumbs up. But, did anyone else cringe when he was using the steel wool? lol.
Ha ha
Looks good Andy
Cheers
Heya from Jersey love your videos! waking up to you slaying the coral trout? Absolutely solid
Sweet
Nice job Andy. I had Seadek installed in my boat almost two years ago. I had pretty patterns etched into it along with the boat name so it was a bit expensive however, it has improved the boat out of site! It’s cooler underfoot, quieter and most importantly it is non slip and super comfy. You will regret it if you don’t put it on the cockpit sole. Looking forward to your next episode. 🍺🍺🇦🇺🇦🇺
I have extra and probably will.
Good job mate looks awesome ! Ive always wondered when you were going to give ya boat a make over it definitely deserved it ! It's served you well ! Nobody ever regretted making there boat easier to clean and more comfortable :) been following you for a couple years now keep up the good work ! Glad to hear you're brother is doing good mate !
You got that right, more mods coming
ive got the carpet up now in the tinny if i was keeping it i would be doing this for shore .. but i got to put a new floor in the haines soon as the tinny sells and 100% going foam :) thanks for the vid mate so many good tips :)
Just be careful if you’ve got an esky or heavy stuff with sharp corners it will definitely dig in
@@Andysfishing oh trur yer that might be a problem i run a large esky with a foam seat on it in the rear that getts moved around all the time . ive been thinking of putting the oldschool rear fold out seats back in so that might be the fix for the seating then mabey just run one of the padded eskys or look at building a floor one, while we have the floor up might as well do a killtank and a esky in there. i finished redoing the deck on the tinny yesterday i just reused the old carpet for that one as im going to sell just got to cut up the tailer now to get all the cancer out of it then paint everything and it should be time to start on the haines :)
Nice job Sir
Thanks
Looks so good mate. I am ordering some straight after this for front deck.
Let me know how you go and i'm sure you'll like it
Hiya Andy ,
So nice to hear that your Bro is doing well,
I hope your having cleaning your Boat Mate,
It feels nice to be sprucing up the boat
I like the different type of videos Andy! Keep it up!
Sweet
Great job! That is tough work, with all the angles, cuts, and setting!
It sure is!
Great install vid mate can't wait to see the updat. I've been thinking of upgrading the carpet in my boat.
I'll keep you posted.
Looks amazing should do this to my 12 ft tinny replace that carpet keep up good work Andy
You'll double it's value, ha ha.
Been dying for you to replace that carpet, been messing with my OCD for years 😂
Gotta say It's been doing my head in 😵💫 Of course no complaints, was just hoping for a video like this.
Ha ha, it was on my mind for years too
Modifying my hatches soon.
Fantastic job on the boat andy it looks great also glad your brothers doing well not be long untill your out doing your thing cant wait m8 good luck
Ha ha, fixing stuff is part of my thing.
WOW.. that came out AMAZING!!!! Also.. great news regarding Nils's op!!! Hurry up and get back on the water.. we have unfinished business to conduct in our snazzy boats!!!
I will have to reclaim my tittle of Cod king soon.
영상 잘 봤습니다 👍 감사합니다
Great
Looks nice,well done Andy
Cheers
This was actually fun to watch lol.
Cool
Loved the video Andy. Thanks for sharing looks really good.
Great to hear
Good job Andy! Looks very nice
Thank you! Cheers!
Enjoyed this one. You’re very handy mate, and ambidextrous I noticed too. I used to be a carpet layer, so pretty handy with a utility knife, but I don’t think I’d try to do this. I really like the look of the product though, compared to carpet.
If you can lay carpet, you can do this stuff, you have the right mind set.
Incredible at DIY Andy! Watching this after the water proofing vid. Not a man until you've operated a circ saw in crocs 😂 also would like to address the smart car and a very tall man? ❤️❤️
I chainsaw in crocs too. Smart cars are very roomy.
Awesome video Andy. Enjoy all of your content pretty jealous of some of your fishing spots tho mate. Would be keen to see more DIY type content.
Tight lines
More coming soon! Modifying my hatches soon. Ps, get out there and find some of your own.
Nice work Andy!
Watch this weeks video!
Good work Andy! looks good! Every video you upload inspires me. Currently working on a fibreglass boat
This is a good option, lets see if it lasts.
@@Andysfishing I see you put a sheet of plastic down for the crab pots good idea keep it cleaner for abit longer.
Top job, looking forward to seeing more.
More to come!
Seriously......Great job,lm impressed 🌱🌱🌱💕🇬🇧💐
Thank you Joyce
Andy, I bought some chinesium eva. Whilst it was ok for the first 6 months the adhesive backing has come undone. But it was put on a textured surface. But I do agree. 300 is better than spending 3000. It can be a pain to clean if it gets dirty. Some stains don't come out.
Yes, I have stains after just 3 days, but it's a working boat. Some people suggest silicon on the edges to stop it lifting.
Nice job andy. Been planning on doing this to the new 1450 stabi I have on order. I like how it turned out, and hopefully it's somewhat durable.
Good luck! As long as your deck isn't checker-plate...
Hello Andy. Looks great. The only possible drawback i can foresee is if the glue goes soft with heat from the sun but there is no way of knowing yet. All the best. Stay safe.
Yes, my deck used to get well over 50c
Just re-watched Timmy turtle’s skiff build with his deck foam. I think your mad cutting a huge holes in the middle of your boat. Sad to see the old carpet go but that does look good.
Holes are a necessary evil, ha ha
Googjob mate , i put eva foam in my boat aswell , been 6 months in so far and still going strong , a bit of discolouring on the nose of the boat (where i cast for prawns ) keep it up legand
Cool, I am thinking of making a cast net nappy!
I love the creativity 😌
There will be more, sign-writing too
Another awesome entertaining video andy!
Cheers
I really loved the video can't wait for the next boat video.
More coming soon! Modifying my hatches soon.
Loved this vid Andy please do more videos like this and also I do alot of micro jigging in Moreton bay and I would love to see and micro jigging videos 👍🏼
More coming soon! Modifying my hatches soon.
I'm SHOCKED carpet lasted that long without a ton of mold. EVA is such a good idea.
It was dark carpet, but that made it hot.
Well done mate. Wasn't sure about the tape and still not but it does look good.
What tape?
@@Andysfishing The 'tape' over the hinges.
Hey mate. Just a tip from my experience, that Eva foam will last way longer if you seal all the edges down with sika. It stops them from peeling up and also stops water getting under the edges. The glue on the foam fails quite fast at the edges and continues in from there.
That's a great idea, Clint has mentioned the same.
Hey you should do more how to vids and more story’s about ur past, love your vids so much also can u do more tackle boxes where u have to catch a fish on each lure? Love the work mate
Sure thing! All of the above
Great job mate 👍 looks great
Thanks 👍
Those 2 hole at 1:35 is from fish taco episode, oh man time flies~ been 2 years right?
Yes, very insane
Good installation video mate. My new boat will have this floor but with my logo.
Logo's always look nice, I will do mine too
@@Andysfishing my friend has a logo on his. Looks awesome.
Great Video Andy! After seeing the gold pan I was wondering if you are keen prospector when you have the time? Would love to see a gold hunting video at some point. Keep up all the good work. With love from the UK!
I have dabbled and found specs, but never a nugget or even a picker, I will film something one day.
Nice 👍🏼
Thanks 👍
You deserve every bit of money you get.
It's funny how some people are so generous and other react with hate when they think they should donate 10c, bizarre!
Nice to now about your brother!!! Beautiful job! Do you have chickens?....so Nice!!!! Love from Portugal 🇵🇹
Yes I do! Thank you.
@@Andysfishing i now that you are a very busy man, but can you respond to me in inst?... thankyou very mucht. Just if you want to. 🇵🇹
That was awesome.
Glad you like it
your boats very nice. great job!!
Cheers
Great job 👌
Thank you
Reminds me of putting stickers on an old TDK tape cassette
Ha ha, those times....
24:01 just noticed your shirt is inside out, glad to see im not the only one LOL.
We all do that, from time to time.
Hi Andy do you have to repair your hull much? Who built your boat? What length is it?
I should fix some holes and scratches. Goldrush and 5.6m
Didn't see a video on an update... How's the floor holding up?
I've mentioned it a couple of times, could use some attention now.
Good thing I'm not near that rooster, Andy... it would be tasty in my coq au vin :-P Happy to know your brother (Nils?) is on the mend too! Your camera angles are tres artistic in this one
Thank you Dawn, I have a friend that loves eating roosters, I have eaten a few too.
You need to buy yourself a cordless screrwdriver with that generous donation!
Yes
Looks great not to mention how much they charge for marine carpet these days!
Indeed
Hi what was your trade youare very precise with how you do things and also what sort of boat is yours never really seen anything that looks like cheers I liked the episode to by the way
I was an engineer, the hull is a Goldrush, but I fitted it out myself.
Will you do a tour of your place? I want to see your chickens and chicken coop!
I will, but I also want to rebuild that, it's a bit annoying now.
Hey Andy I know it's late but is your registration the same as south Africa, in south Africa the drain you put in you would have to go and get a new buoyancy.
No, my boat was water tested with all bungs and holes open, so another hole is no different, it actually makes it safer.
Nice video!
Very informative. How has it held up? Im wanting to put this in my boat
Watched a couple videos on routing the foam. What’s your take on that?
I showed you in my latest video. The foam is good, the glue not so much.
HAHA..i hear your chicken and rooster sound.. demn so feel good..i miss my hometown enviroment... and i miss big fish..haha..sorry cant support u with join the club.. but i will always come to support your chanel..demn this time evan dont have fishing session i finish the video.. i like to see something get clean and good changes u do..
It's all good, don't feel obliged.
@@Andysfishing your video give me some sortnof energy.. Yeah.. When u fish n cook on good environment.. Such a nice view n relaxing..
Great one Andy just wondering if you have a link for the foam? Looks great
As I said in the video, no point
You should install a pump to drain water out if it fills up
I have
Just throwing a idea out here Andy. Could you dip the metal part of the hatches in liquid rubber?
That would stop their action and cause moisture to get trapped.
I noticed that you used a butter knife to mix and spread your cabosil. I prefer to use a bent icing spatula. The build in angle allows for a more even application in recesses and on deck because it gives room for the knuckles. Given that they are typically stainless steel, they clean up quickly and easily for next time.
Good tip, i just use what I have around, this was to be a cheap jig, but i never made it.
Hi Andy..just wondering if you know where ican buy the foam fibreglass panels ? Tia
I don't think you can, I make mine
The way you made your jig and cut the foam is a very similar way to how commercial vinyl is done
Sweet
