What factions would you like to see done next? Parthia is coming but after that we are still undecided. Throw your suggestions at me! Thank you all for watching
Let me just say mate I love these kinds of videos I can't believe it took so long for someone to make an faction overview for Divide Et Impera ,I would suggest bacteria as the next faction as they have new units in this update, and on a personal note I've always wanted to do a baktria campaign but I felt there roster was a little lacking.
@@hellsing19945 I'm really happy to hear that mate, I don't have much spare time to dedicate to videos so receiving even just 1 comment like this is incredibly uplifting and makes the hours put into it worth it. Thanks for your support! I'll definitely have a look into Baktria but if they are getting new units I'll make sure they are added before I do a full on overview. Thanks again!
Can do Athens dei overview after Parthia Thank you and I love your video on Seleucid empire overview also my favorite faction in game right by Athens thank you again for my great videos and overview.
Chariots are crazy op if you use them correctly. Save them somewhere safe till the enemy infantry is fully engaged and enemy cav is gone. Then take them from the back and just click for them to run through the enemy mass. Don't stop giving run movement orders at the same place so they don't turn and they will get and easy 500-1k kills in a full battle.
Nothing wrong with trading with Mediterranean factions as the Iceni - it's historically accurate. The Carthaginians particularly were known to trade with pre-Roman Britain
I'm so glad someone like you exists to break these factions down. Learned so much from your vids and it actually helped me with my campaign alot. I'm still trying to break through Syracuse as Rome. Turn 52 and still deadlocked with them and Carthage 👍
I actually started my first DEI campaign with them. I was like I'll make Britain great again.. Didn't work out that well haha. Great review. I might try them out again after this.
Glad you tried em out but sorry to hear it didn't go well :P Almost every barbarian is always tricky and if you get unlucky it can spell a campaign over very quickly. Since Iceni are only 1 settlement you could always try to migrate as them too ;)
@@Immersaholic The biggest Problem was the Irish faction. They had a huge population and two death stacks. They backstabbed me as a client state lol. They took over Britain while I was warring on the mainland Europe.
@@kevshelby1679 Oh man I hate how client states betray you so often. In my current campaign I thought about making a lot of client states like the old Persian empires but I know the ai is really broken. Never trust clients, only kinda trust military allies!
Oh for sure; although, I've started to see more people talking about it on the forums in recent months. I'd say a faction like the Scordisci or Nervii are also up there for being underrated as well. They have awesome looking rosters. Thanks for watching mate!
Awesome videos ! Quick point. The chariots are actually better than elephants in my opinion. They're just really fragile like you mentioned. No combat for them. My first run with the iceni I had 2 chariots in an army against the kaledoni and got 1000 kills each 😂 they massacre skirmishes and also sliding along the back of formations that are engaged in combat. I think theres a trick where you dont click on them to attack but just tell them to move through the enemy formations and they rack up kills that way. Works the same with elephants.
Your definitely right that clicking their movement rather than attack orders is best for kills. While you might get really nice kills with them I'd still say that elephants are better because they can still get those kills and take on any other unit for a while. Even skirmishers that counter them take several volleys before they even do damage. Chariots take massive losses in just 1-2 volleys.
I hope my video does it justice, its such an interesting faction. I'll definitely consider it for a future playthrough at some point. Perhaps do a massive migration with them even.. Thanks for watching !
Can you do Athens DEI overview next and I also have say I love video on Seleucid empire that is my favorite but I’m terrible at playing them but with your video help. It make me understand what do come out with win so thank you and Athens empire is second favorite.
I'm glad I could help you out mate! I'll definitely check out Athens, our next overview will be Parthia but perhaps Athens can be after that. I'll check it out mate, thanks for the suggestion!
Hey immersaholic, would be happy if you could revisit this overview, seeing as Iceni is one of the recommended factions for new players. Looking to get into DEI but really struggling to get off the ground. Thanks for the content!
Awesome videos just a minor critique and it might be fixed now so this could be totally irrelevant but I’ve found the audio to be very quiet on your videos
Very valid critique and yes your also right, more recent videos were improved. At least I believe they have been, I haven't had complaints for several months now. Thanks for the feedback mate!
Something extra special would be nice, although their champion sword unit they share with the Irish and Scots is fantastic so I'd say that unit is their "special" one.
Yo so I'm looking at doing an iceni campaign but looking at their options on custom battle they have a lot more unites, especially spears. Have they been adjusted since this video?
I think they are mainly fun when you have a lot of interest in the history of the area where the Iceni are. If not, the game play may get boring/repetitive quickly.
I'm not sure if they need too many more units so as not to disrupt the balance of the barbarian nations. But perhaps 1 or 2 more units that give them a chance in the late game against Rome. Such as 1 more armor piercing unit or a unique heavily armored unit that could hold the line better. Their line holding troops are extremely limited. But, it is also probably historically accurate that they do not receive units that could rival Legionnaires. Thanks for watching!
Yo,is the armory building bonus for armor and weapon damage worth it ? Let's say i play any faction, then i conquered a region with iron or copper ore and make me can build the smithing building and i rush the tech for max tier building, and get both max tier armory and blacksmith,is the bonus overpowered or overrated???
In my personal experience it's generally quite underrated. I think the max boost you get is like 12 or 15 percent max (Just thinking off the top of my head). Which is nowhere near enough to make a low tier faction all of a sudden have units that are actually decently armored (Such as the Iceni for example). I would like to see it boosted or have it so more resources are available to help boost armor rating. Such as having a leather resource to give a minor boost, iron to give a medium boost, bronze to give another boost, etc. For now generally speaking, they are fairly underpowered in my opinion and only useful in a small handful of scenarios.
For the units themselves? I usually just play on very high or ultra graphic settings. For the look of my game I use different settings and mods to help it which you can see in the description of all my videos :)
Thank you but I know it is not correct but so are many are words I say in this time period (Such as saying Mass-a-don- instead of Mac-a-don). But since it conveys the same meaning and I've always used it I probably won't bother too much about getting every single word proper since I doubt I ever could.

Do the overview on Rome please!
DEI Iceni dont have any special unit that I feel gives them an edge like other factions, i.e. germanic calvary. They range from trash to passable.
Something extra special would be nice, although their champion sword unit they share with the Irish and Scots is fantastic so I'd say that unit is their "special" one.
Obviously they need to have a head-thrower unit that's more powerful than actual javelins.
@@cass7448 Obviously :D
It's like the guys with the best strategic position have bad units, and the worst strategic positions (surrounded) have great units :')
