It's amazing how fast it can fly by when you're super focused! Oh! Do you take classes at your university or iTalki? Me, too! Those streaks motivate me so much!

I think 🤔 you need your own room for learning a new language
Dude how is she able to learn Korean and it doesn't look like her parents judge her.....I can't buy posters of bts because they would say no because they can't even understand what they are saying and also they wouldn't want to waste money on Korean books or anything to help me learn it.....they always judge me when I try learning it and they judge me when I hear bts......🙁🙁🙁😔😔😔😢😢😢😢😭😭😭😭
Lol my parents low key judge me, but I think they have gotten used to it now~ I'm sorry to hear that your parents don't support your interest in Korea and the Korean language 😢 I'll support you though~! I believe you can do it~
Here are some free resources to start learning Korean if you haven't started learning yet :) I think it's completely possible to learn the language without paying for anything~ ❤️

Anime For Life don't let anyone, even your parents let you down. if you want to learn a language, then learn that language. who cares if people judge you, you are who you are. Don't let your guards down. Learn any language you want, you can be fluent in many languages and that would be awesome. You do you. at the end of the day, only you got yourself. love you~♡
Me too, fam. Me too. Its so hard for me when they make their comebacks & drop new albums. All I wanna do is buy those albums & show my support for them, but my folks.. they never let me. I wish I were born in S.Korea. 😢💔
Same. I am trying to learn Korean and my mom high-key judges me.
If it makes anyone laugh, my mom once walked up to me, saw me doing my Chinese homework and said “You’re going to marry an asian.” And then walked away before I could say anything 😂😂 I was shocked! Then my sister came out of no where and said “Yup.” I think they still think that tbh 😂😂😂

actually we are bout to do a live study session with All about Korea AAK, come over
my problem is i can read hangul but dont know any actual korean full words besides annyeonghaseyo and saraghae
Imma be honest. It sounds so normal when a person learns Korean sincerely even if it started with just Kpop or KDrama. But it's really annoyingly distinguishable when a Koreaboo speaks or tries to speak Korean. We need more people like you. Keep up the good work~
I have always had a love of languages. As well as learning about other cultures. I have been having my son find short samples of different languages on UA-cam, to help him test each language out. And then decide which language he wants to learn with me. He seems to be pretty set on wanting to learn Japanese. But I ended up finding korean kdramas on Netflix. And the fact that I have a surplus of videos with the native language being spoken. I ended up leaning more towards wanting to learn Korean. I watch the Chinese films and Japanese anime as well. But to be honest. I can hear the difference in how the words are formed. And I kind of feel like Korean might be easier for me, personally, to speak and learn. Once I learn Korean. I would love to move on to another language. I have somewhat learned other languages in the past. But I am only fluent in English. I took a German class, as well as Irish, Spanish, Arabic (I failed miserably at that one! Lol), I have had samples of Portuguese, and French. And I have an interest in learning Russian, any of the Nordic languages. So, keep the faith, there are definitely more of us out here who genuinely love the language culture. Lol ✌🏻
Right I hate koreaboos they are just soo annoying 😂
Yep, I'm trying to learn korean (mostly because I really think it's economy will grow a lot and because of the skin care industry, but I don't think learning it because of the entertainment industry is wrong) and I see a lot of at most 10 yr old people bringing bts into anything, I swear they're so annoying
I'm watching this video for the second time to see if I can be organized like that cause honestly I like studying but sometimes I just do other things and then I realize the day is already finishing #bigProcrastinator
+Florzinha Rebi Me, too~!! That's why I have to write down what I want to get done in that weekly format~ If I don't get it done, I feel like I'm behind and I hate that feeling 😣

How are your studies going?
Im currently using Korean Class 101 and im loving it. Im starting from absolute beginner but the podcasts and notes are really easy to understand. Im glad to hear from someone that it works.
Yeassss!!! I love Korean Class 101~! They offer so many ways to learn on their website~
Yes, that´s what I like the most. Even with the basic subscription you get a lot of tools.
I only did the absolute beginner but I don't know how to go up a level :(
Hi, it's been a year? Any progress? 😊
It’s been 4 years! Are you fluent now? Haha just kidding, but have you gotten better at 한극?
I wish I can learn Korean... so I could watch and read things that happens in k-dramas and cuz most of bts vid without eng sub
You can do it! I believe in you~~!! ❤️ Do it for BTS!! lol
thank you for all of these resources !! i just decided today that i want to make an effort to learn korean, so this is really helpful to figure out where to start.
You are very welcome~~ I remember feeling really lost when I first started, so I wanted to try and help people~ You can do it! I bet you'll be speaking Korean in no time!!
Good luck! I'm starting out now as well! Lets hope we'll master it.
I'm 28 (ancient) and want to learn Korean. I went to South Korea last year and it was an amazing experience. I'm studying international freight & logistics & supply chain one night a week sposored by my work. I think knowing another language would be hugely benificial for the career path I'm headed down. Also my at current job (importing tiles) we have a lot of Korean customers so it would be helpful for me to be able to communicate with them. I'd also like to learn mandarin and japanese but one language at a time 😂 for all the teens with parents thinking it's just a phase so what? Learning something new isn't going to hurt.
Lol @Ancient
I just call myself a vampire now. I'm 32
Get off social media. 28 is young
I love TTMIK! It's the main resource that I use to study (:
+PassionforDreaming TTMIK is great~! I've been trying so study with it more lately ❤️

Do you happen to have some of their older pdf files downloaded? If so, could you please attach them?
Except it’s not level 1 for learning Korean 😂 You already have to know some Korean to even start lmao
@@corgisrule21 ..but the lessons start very basic. It starts from teach 안녕하세요(hello) and moves in to level 10.
You just have to know the Korean alphabets to start their lessons. You can learn korean alphabets everywhere in UA-cam.

It's funny you had such a positive experience with textbooks. Most ppl hate textbooks bc they aren't going to Korea anytime soon and they have to deal with the boring practical stuff of how to get around in a foreign country.
+I Heart Nihon Yeah... I don't know why, but I've always learned well with textbooks~ For Korean, the fact that I was going to Korea definitely helped me get through the less interesting units haha
I‘m 40 now :) I started learning Korean at 38. How are your studies going?

안녕하세요~~~ :) Ohh~~ You are going great! And I'm so happy I'm able to help motivate you~ 😊
I think KoreanClass101 is awesome for learning Korean~
Natalia Garza I really like their lessons on Hangul cause I first wanted to learn basics with Duolingo but they don't teach Hangul very well.
I can almost read Hangul with ease, I'm missing out on some characters sometimes cause I still dont memorize some sounds but Korean101's Hana Hana Hangul is great
Hi itseu Kat agreed duolingo is good for learning characters but they don’t teach you anything like sentence structure or grammar
@@LetsStopThisSong duolingo sucks for asian languages DingoDeer is bettee
I've been using TTMIK as well, and I really love the format. I've also made it fun for myself by using cute stationery, etc. Hangul was fairly easy to learn, so I was OK at reading Korean before I understood any words. :) Now that I'm finishing up my 2nd masters, I'm really excited about getting back to my Korean studies. Love the video, and I'll be making my own study calendar! Yay!!
I do, too! They make everything so easy to understand! I want to get into making my notes look pretty like on all the studygrams, but I don't know how >< Oh, wow! You must be very passionate about your field of study!
And, yessss! Every time the semester ends, I get excited to start studying! Yes!! Do it!
hey ! please can you tell me that if ttmik is paid or its for free
That was crazy! I only study for 1 week now and understood the introduction with ease!
Love your BTS posters in the back! They are the main reason why I want to lean Korean tbh. I'm at the basics, but I find it really difficult and confusing a lot of the times, so tips are very welcome.
Thank you~! Honestly, just keep pushing forward! When I first started learning Korean, I thought it was the hardest language I had ever tried to learn and that I wasn't getting anywhere. But, I just kept chipping away, and now it's funny to think that there was a time when I couldn't speak Korean! You can do it! Like Dora says, "Just keep swimming~ Just keep swimming~ Just swimming, swimming, swimming~! What do we do? We swim, swim~"
Another tip I would give you would be to change up the way you study/ what you use to study every once in awhile! I don't know about you, but I get bored doing the same thing every time I study Korean~ That's why I've never made a "How I Study Korean" video~ If I were to make one, it would probably be like "How I Study Korean: Wednesday, January 10th," "How I Study Korean: Thursday, January 11th," etc. LOL You don't have to spend money to change up your resources either! I have a whole series about free resource to learn Korean, if your interested check it out ❤️

Even though my favorite K-pop group isn't BTS, my motivation is still K-pop ( I like Black pink )
Hey young Natalia, Guess how much better you've gotten ❤
Guess how many people you helped??
You did great.
Im happy for you ❤
This was really helpful to bring some kind of structure to my korean language learning. I don't know about most people but for me I pick on speaking faster than reading and writing. In many ways korean's grammar structure is similar to Hindi and for me once you understand the "logic" of the language the rules of it start to make sense. I would say that listening to Kpop and watching K-Dramas can help with seeing the tonality, delivery and kind of cultural use of words. I would suggest in fact that when watching or listening, note repetitve words down. My vocabulary increased by writing down my favourite songs in Korean and then analysing the sentence structure. Granted this is a little off beat but it's a good way to familiarise yourself with the script.
At the start of this video I told myself I'd learn to read at least 1 word in Korean, but now thanks to the recommended website you gave us, Memrise, I know over 6 words! Thank you so much for making this video. I want you to know that even now, 5 years later, you are still helping and encouraging people to speak Korean. 감사합니다
Incase anyone is wondering, that means thank you lol
This is so helpful! I decidedly to finally start with learning korean during our current lockdown here in Germany. Even though my boyfriend is korean, I never learnedly his language and always when we visited korea I spoke english with his parents. I now want to change that and your tips are definitely really helpful- thank you! 💜
Thank you so much for this. I’m just about to start studying Korean and this is so detailed and exactly what I needed
I'm glad you found it helpful! I tried my best to explain what I did so that it would be clear that there was a process I used 💕 Best of luck in your studies~! 🙈
for me, it's always been hard to find goals while learning korean. i'm young so i'm not going to be able to travel to korean for a LONG time. (if i ever do) whcih is why I couldn't have the goal of "move to korea to talk to natives." or something like that. So my goal became, "Be able to film a vlog and narrate what i'm doing in korean." and "Film a video as if i was talking to my best friend on a call, but i korean." so these goals keep me motivated to learn!
After I came back from Sogang University my mom keeps telling me to stop watching shows in English and to keep watching shows in Korean 🥲 she’s so supportive. Thank you for this informative video.
This was incredibly motivating and has renewed my interest in relearning Korean again :) 요즘 바빴지만 열심히 공부할게요 화이팅!!
My goal is to reach an upper intermediate level this year. I am currently in the advanced beginner/lower intermediate classes at our language school.
I just discovered your channel and watched a few of your videos, and what I can say is that I love your channel, videos and your personality. You're inspiring and motivating me for my Korean study bc it is sometimes hard haha ~ ^^'
Awwww thank you~~!!! Yes~~~!!! Study Korean!! It's so much fun!! I know it can be hard sometimes, but it'll pay off in the end! I promise! ❤️❤️
Natalia Garza oh you're so sweet~ 😊 it's actually quite some time since I started my study and yeah it feels like an addiction ^^ Thanks a lot for your adorable reply~~ ❤
Oh btw I hope you reply to this, I know you have many resources on how you learned Korean but can you tell me which was the most helpful or the channel or app that you used that helped you the most to actually speak Korean? Because there’s too many resources and they teach almost just the same thing so I’m temped on which channel I should watch so I can actually learn immediately. Or like the channel that you easily understood what they were teaching.
I use the channel "Learn korean in korean" and it's fantastic. Then I learn vocabulary thourgh Anki or any other apps and add some curiosity to this.
Along with goals I recommend listing topics you want to study too. Eg, time, day of the week, food, etc. If you learn a word for example apple, orange etc. your more likely to remember it as its both apple and orange are related to each other because they are food and more specifically fruit. If you learnt "Apple" and "train" and more random words, you're less likely to remember them since they have no relation to each other.

I love your channel!!!! You have such a good energy! I hope you continue making korean videos for a long time!!
Started learning a year ago. I bought talk to me in korean books. It was 4 books. Unfortunately the talk to me in korean didn't really resonated with me. It was all over the place for me. Was not organized, so I had difficulties. But I like their 500words and conversation for beginner. So I got stuck for a year but when I found the korean grammar in use!!! It changes the game! The book is amazing! I bought the book few months ago but was scared to go with it because of my experiences with ttmik but I kid you not. I started in december got in depth in January and now will be finishing it in February!!! Learned a lot of grammar structures. The book is addicting. I study more than 5hrs a day because of this. To those of you who are learning a language. Find the best books/materials that suits you. When you already have one but that does not pick your interest maybe you have the wrong materials.

This is such a wonderful, helpful and thorough video! You did a really good job :)
All the apps mentioned are amazing! I've used them over the past 2-3 years and they helped me to an extent. Since I'm the type of person who loses focus after a certain amount of time, I think I'm gonna have to get a tutor so I won't slack for months at a time lol. Sucks that I have no irl tutors near me and online tutors are expensive and have really short lessons ☹️ rip

Did you have a set amount of hours to put in everyday stay consistent or what how did you do it?
+Mark Chavez In the beginning, I wasn't very strict with how long I studied for everyday. There were definitely days I didn't study at all. But after the first month or so, I started studying anywhere from 3 to 5 hours a day. It was quite a process haha
Omg same story here! Im going to korea in 2 months and i went in panick mode like "oh my gosh this is happening". I only know how to read hangul and i only know beginner phrases but not enough to have basic convos with people in korea. Thank you for ur tips!
I've been using memrise for years but I didnt know about hellotalk ! It looks like a really great app (esp the correcting feature) bc omg the flirting part is so true.. I was on a penpal forum and it was the worse! I'm like come on this is not tinder..! Very informative video! Thank you!
Nahna Sry i use this app after seeing an advertisement , its really good and my writng in korean has improved the last few days. and i have learnt my first sentance. i have not had any flirting at all , everyone has been really helpful.
Nahna Sry I love HelloTalk~ ❤️ I haven't received any flirty messages in a while, but I remember in the past it happened often.. I'm not sure exactly what has changed, but I like it haha I'm glad you found the video helpful~!! I know it's kind of long 😓
Laura James Yeasssss~ HelloTalk has helped me learn Korean since the start of my journey! I remember getting corrections all the time (I still get corrections lol) about super simple things like how to correctly use two verbs in a sentence >
Me and my friend are trying to learn korean because we are lovers of kpop as well, she’s better then me but this video helped so much and we can’t wait to start planning.
Thank you Natalia 😊 This was very helpful
Idk how time passed very fast!! I started learning korean on 20th April!! And it's now 4th of july!
I crossed beginner!! And i think I am on my way for high intermediate 🤑but! I didn't realize that the time passed this way😭
Omg haha I met my husband on HelloTalk when I was in Korea 😂
😱😱😱 Wow! That's amazing! LOL I want to hear more 😂
Thank you for all the great tips! I really like your positive and bubbly personality haha ♥
You are very welcome~ I hope you found them helpful~ Hehe and thank you~!!
Thank you so much for the useful information and apps!!!! 🤗♥️
I decided to start learning korean classes when I started watching kdramas and korean music about 6 years ago but I just didn’t have the time☹️but ur video and ur advice inspired me to start again and put all my time on trying to learn korean. Also I’m planning on studying at the university of korea but before that I want to take a semester off to try to learn korean❤️💕🙌🏻also how is it in Korea?like is it hard to mostly communicate and is it better to leave with a friend to Korea?🙂💕
hey thank you very much for your video. I plan to go to Korea in 2 years and I was scared to not be enough fluent but actually... it's possible!!
You're welcome~~ ❤️ That was one of my fears, too! The thought of being in Korea without being able to speak Korean was definitely a strong motivator for me haha But, I'm sure you'll be fine~ :)
I know 4 languages ✨
English, japanese, french, Spanish and now I'm trying to learn Korean 🍰
You learned all this language by yourself??
@@bhumikakunder2986 yes ✨
Wow
Thank you so much for all the tips! I recently have been very inspired to learn Korean and this helped SO MUCH! I’m hoping to go study at Sogang university in Seoul once I graduate high school!
Awww I'm glad I was able to help you in your journey!! Also, Sogang is a great school! It's known as one of the best schools in terms of helping students develop their speaking skills! I also had a friend who went there and she loved it!!
I plan on going/kind of moving to SKorea and becoming an actor in both the US and SK- so that’s why I’m learning the language :)
I’m soo late sorry. It’s really great you learned this much in 2 months. I’ve seen your other videos where you speak Korean 🤩
Can I ask something? How did you manage TTMIK, integrated Korean books and koreanclass101
Did u do all 3 everyday or put specific days for each one or did u use them when u felt like it?
I really enjoyed your video but could you PLEASE make the volume of the background music lower? To where there is just a hint of it? Thank you!
+SleeplessinOC I'm sorry if it was too loud!! 😬😬
omg your korean is so good!!!
I use HowToStudyKorean.com They have a bunch of Free Lessons - well explained and in different languages so, if you're not comfortable enough in English, you can change the language. I just started so I am still in Unit 1.
this is super helpful, thank you so much! i’m trying to cram as much as i can within 6 months so i can take the FLATS exam from BYU. if you could reach this level in 2 months, this is very inspiring ^^
You got this!! The hardest part is staying diligent! As long as you keep going, you'll do great!
Everything is possible if you study hard and long enough
Hi Natalie! I just came across your video. I’m using TTMIK books currently and I just heard about Integrated Korean books. Does Integrated Korean only teach things that are useful for students? I will be visiting Korea in about a year and I want to be comfortable with speaking (close to fluent if possible) and listening by the time I go. Any advice on where I should start. I’m currently using TTMIK Level 1 book with the workbook. Also with the Integrated Korean books, how do you find out if your answers are correct if there’s no answer key? Thanks so much for making this video! 💜
Thank you for the tips! I am learning right now so this is really helpful 👍
I'm glad you found what I had to say helpful! Please let me know how your studies go!! 화이팅!
I came here to see how to learn and I was distracted by your bts posters and Ryan in the back 😂 #btsarmy
Lol Bro, I love BTS so much that... Sometimes I can't even function >< lol
Hi, how can I choose to learn the specific vocabulary from memrise for the integrated korean textbooks?
Your an ARMY??! Waahhh😍 Ryan reminds me of namjoon and of course the Jiminie Plushie Doll😍😍 The posters😍
I admire you consistency and your planning 🤦🏻♀️
Haha thank you~ I think it was just my determination to get the most out of my time in Korea~ Plus, I didn't want to waste my learning beginner's Korean when I could be using the opportunity to learn the nuances between different words though constant exposure~ Anyhow, I hope your studies are going well!!
ttmik is very good and so is KoreanUnnie (in youtube) . shes super helpful and cute and shows everyday life in korea!! Jolly is also really fun to watch on youtube as you watch Josh (fluent korean) teach Ollie (doesnt speak korean) how to learn korean using ttmik
I agree!! Korean Unnie is great!! Have you checked out a channel called Minji Teaches Korean? It's another channel that features content about daily life in Korea while teaching Korean!
Jolly is soooooo funny! I was so happy when I found that channel because it's great content to practice your listening LOL
Thank you for this amazing video!! I love it! I have a question though... I started using Hellotalk... but idk what I should do. Is it better to post something and wait for someone to respond or to go on the search list and start chatting with people studying the same language??? 💜💜💜 thank youu
I'm glad you enjoyed the video~! 💕
I think it's up to you~! Personally, I don't send out messages because I don't want to play the numbers game. You know, sometimes you send someone a message but they don't respond, or everyone you sent a message to responds and then you have a billion messages haha
I mainly post questions on the moments feature, because I am able to get multiple answers/opinions about my grammar/practice sentences. Usually I end up receiving messages from people who have answered my question~
Natalia Garza Ahh okay, thank you so much!! 😊💜
I love those BTS posters. lol
Thanks~ I love them, too haha
This really helps me Thank you!!
Me: is learning Korean
