Random but I realize I learn better vocabulary when I get an answer wrong cause I get pissed and annoyed that I got it wrong, it’s like my brain is like “oh shit, she mad” lmao and it helps me memorize
That also makes sense~ You got it wrong, so you are paying more attention to that specific word than before~ I definitely remember some of the words that I learned incorrectly the first time around~ Especially the ones I used in front of my Korean friends and then received strange reactions 😂
The scientist will back you on this! There are studies about how the brain works that found learning growth occurs when we make a mistake. It is so funny that you notice your brain having such a role in this experience. Keep up the good work! 🙂
thanks for this video. remembering new vocabulary is my ultimate weakness. I can remember grammar very well, then I suck at vocab. already found new courses on memrize and will be using these tips. thanks!
Because you were a baby in the language with the expectations of being a ten year old in the language.... No. Once you get the basics down, and get exposed to the language more, you'll eventually pick up on grammar faster
Also, what takes some people 5 times to remember can take someone else 50 times. You might just be the type that has to review things more than someone else. That's ok. As long as you progress and don't give up. If you remember one conversational phrase, that will already contain vocab words...... At least 15-20 per phrase. Memorize phrases Learn vocab and grammar later
I do speak 3 languages but I don't know wanted to learn korean so I have started today with Korean alphabets omg so confusing and so hard to remember, it looks every alphabet similar to me 😄 Please could you guide me tricks and tips to learn fast 😥
I really like the idea of an "ugly notebook". Most of my study time gets interrupted by questions I have about words I come across that have similar definitions to other vocab words I already know. I think having a dedicated book will keep me organized because I tend to just write those questions on sticky notes and then they get lost :/
I've studied languages for half of my life now, and this is the first time I'm watching a video that *actually* teaches me how to properly learn vocabulary. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
I’m finally starting to study again!! I’ve been so unmotivated since the summer ended, you are the first UA-camr I’m coming to lol 😂 I appreciate your channel❤️❤️
Awwww~ I'm glad you've had a good break though~ Sometimes it's better to take a rest and come back feeling refreshed and excited to start studying again~!
I'm learning Korean during this quarantine. I love these tips and the reasoning you provide for each of them. I just got past learning how to read it, but I'm gonna use your tips going forward! Thank you!
I'm glad you found it helpful~! I really enjoy learning with textbooks~ It just seems more efficient than learning a word here and a word there, ya know? Anywayyyyyy~ You got this~! Korean's really fun to learn!!
2021- I'm intermediate and I've been struggling a lot with learning vocabulary. This helped so much! Thank you, hopefully I can be more confident in my speaking as I learn more vocabulary
Hi!! I’m already Korean, but my foreniger friend wants me to teach her. I tried to but she didn’t understand anything! (yes im a bad teacher) but i found this, and i sent it! and it helped her a lot! thank you so much!
I LOVE THIS! Not only did I get some useful vocabulary learning tips but I also learned some new words hahaha I come across such words quite often and the curious in me doesn't always stop at the meaning so I try to find out more about their connotation. This happened especially when I started using Yonsei reading books series (which is why I absolutely love it) I am still using the first book (and purchased the second already) and that book alone brought similar confusing situations to the spotlight. I do have my ugly practice book on which I write pretty much everything it's way uglier than yours HAHAHHA (yours is fine tbh) [Chrysalis]
Awwww~ I'm glad you were able to take multiple things away from this video~! Right!! Sometimes I find a word and I just know that if I don't do additional research then I won't actually know how to use the word on my own! Plus, I feel like it's easier to learn the word's connotation from the beginning rather than having been using it incorrectly for some time and then trying to correct oneself!
I didn't feel motivated to study Korean for the past half year and felt stuck, but this helped so much! I just need to put in the effort to learn all the vocabulary that a language needs, hahaha
Talk to me in Korean has the grammar lessons up on their website for free. There is another site you can use, called howtostudykorean(.com). and if you want to use an app to learn, you can use Lingodeer. Good luck on your studies!
maannn....i just started learning korean today from "Memrise"...and i already learned 25 words...lets see if i forget them or not..but i am dedicated af...and i found your acc....and THANK YOU!! FOR PUTTING THE BOOKS THERE....
I'm so confused on how to use memrise. I can only see the lessons they've put together, I can't make my own lists or find lists from actual textbooks or anything. Where do I find all this stuff?
There's a vocabulary book for Japanese Shinkanzen master N1 level and this book literally has no definitions or translations or anything. It's somewhat popular too. Your comments on your textbooks reminded me of that although your textbooks at least have a study guide with the info you need. I had to lookup all the words in the Japanese vocabulary book in a dictionary 🤣🤣
I suggest studying them ahead of time! But you actually won’t have to make any courses because you can find some made my other users for both TTMIK and HTSK!
I'm learning korean for (for, by? I'm not sure XD) myself, and it's so hard learn new words, it's hard remember the words, and i'm not sure if that is the exactly meaning (i had funny experience with my english teacher for words that I think that have means a thing, but really that have a mean completely different, idk if I explained me well) It's more easy learn a language with a teacher (I'm learning english with a native speaker) and it's more easy in the part that the teacher can answear all your question (special if is a native speaker of the language that you're learning) and more things else. It's the first time that I'm trying to learn a new language for myself (lie, some years ago I tried to learned Portuguese, but that was because I was in brazil, now I only remember "Eu falo a poquinho de portugues" lol) and I'm sure I will do it. I love your videos, with you I'm practising (practising is the gerundio of practice?) English and korean
natalia: anfhfkbenqeinwpincnchahfkw (intro) me: i- wait what? others: oh yeah i know what she said me: wait she said something?! others: yeah she said hi and her usual intro me: ah geez korean is so much harder but i'm gonna study also me: (2 days later) ah! i give up!
you are definitely a beautiful person with a beautiful soul that I would love to meet and have friendship with .Thanks for helping me walk efficiently faster as well as more closer to achieving my current dream of mastering my most favorite korean one day.
But isn't memrise not free? Idk, but I really liked this video I feel like studying again right after studying! ^^ thank you~ Honestly I'm an intermediate but I just can't remember the vocab at all, but I really recommend Ankidroid, I don't know if they have an IOS version but maybe they do. 이미 말했는데도 감사합니다~~
What's your studygram that you mentioned? The instagram link that you have in your "about" section is private, is this the one? I'd like to follow you and see your notes if you do have a studygram~ 😀
OMG I can't believe I never changed the link! My new instagram is "Nataliaa_Garza" Thank you for telling me the link is outdated! I changed my username on Instagram a few months ago. I have a few of my notes on there haha but I wouldn't necessarily call it a studygram because that would insult all the actual studygrams 😅
Lmao I wanna buy the ewha books tbh. And thanks for the tips. Idk if you've ever used ttmik but if you have, can you compare the two( like does one have more korean within the text, etc)?
