- Quick snack tips to keep your craving between meals in check. Sometimes you just need a little something-something, especially in the beginning of your carnivore journey. In this video Tanya gives some of the things they help here in between meals. She also gives a great rundown on electrolytes and how they can help you in a variety of ways.

I’m only doing’ carnivore’ish’ a couple of days a week. Definitely not properly. I find I don’t want to eat too much at a meal. I like butter bites. I saw them on a couple of carnivore sites..but don’t really like them plain. So after the butter has become a nice smelling brown butter, I turn off the heat and then add a scoop of either vanilla or better chocolate whey protein powder and whisk it in. Then pour it into a silicone or parchment lined container..let it cool for a few minutes and pop it into the fridge for an hour or two. Then demould and cut into about sixteen squares..so if you only have a couple of squares, your not getting too much of the protein powder.
Just to add, after doing the modified carnivore, I then find low carb or keto days lot easier. I always do it at least on Mondays now..Meaty Mondays. The butter bites last well in the fridge.

What is your go-to snacks between meals? Are you finding your need to snack between meals is decreasing the longer you are on the diet?
Why are the salts/electrolytes so important when doing carnivore. I know their importance in general. But why on carnivore? Is it something you're just not getting enough of in other sources of foods?
Great question. On any Low carb diet you may need more Electrolyte. When Insulin levels are low due to zero carbs, your kidneys excrete more sodium. So you may need to supplement. Especially when you first start out and your body is adapting from a carb based diet IKeto flu). If you eat a variety of meats, fish and eggs, you can get almost every mineral you need, but if you are experiencing muscle cramps, headaches or fatigue, it may be your body’s way of telling you to add more. For many people, simply adding salt to your water is a great pick-me-up. We will do a video just on electrolytes soon that will help out more.
