    Hi
I dont have any acne, but have pigmentation and uneven skin tone.
So using chicnutrix glow serum is better or axis-y dark spot glow serum?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  6 місяців тому +1

Well, if it's close to the skin surface, and depending on what caused it, the Axis-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum may show some improvements.

Tretinoin after washing the face with a salicylic face wash will cause problems?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  6 місяців тому

Well, generally no, as salicylic acid (SA) tends to dry out the skin. However, there are several formulations on the market, so some are more hydrating than others and even contain very low percentages of SA. Therefore, it depends on these factors. But I think avoiding them and using mild, hydrating gel-to-foam cleansers works best!

Hey Melissa I love your videos and how you interact with your subs I need help
    I currently use
La roche posay gentle skin cleanser I love it
    Cerave ultra light gel
    Adapelene differin not every day
2.5 percent bp neutrogena on the spot this helps a lot
Cicaplast Blume only on irritated dry red itchy patches
I recently been trying this new moisturizer called the Cetaphil oil free hydrating lotion and it really irritated my skin really badly it looks like I got a red dry irritated patch and every time I go to sleep my skin itches in that spot and sometimes burns I woke up this morning to another red patch that formed I really need help in finding a moisturizer that won’t irritate my skin and also hydrating
My skin type is oily acne prone sensitive skin I been using the cerave ultra light and it’s been fine but I feel like it could possibly clog my pores

Well, how can you be certain that it was the Cetaphil oil-free hydrating lotion that caused this? I mean, it could simply be the combination of the other ingredients, especially if you're using them daily. The lotion doesn't contain any concerning ingredients. Unless you are very sensitive to a particular ingredient in the formulation, this could be the case with any skincare product. However, what's more likely is that you're overusing the products.

@@ZanderKun_ Is the weather in your region currently dry? This could already be making your skin sensitive. However, why not use the CeraVe Ultra Light Gel moisturizer that you already have? I still think a routine involving the Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Cleanser, Adapalene gel (applied three times a week), and the CeraVe gel could be sufficient.
So, your evening skincare routine three times a week would be:
Cleanse your face with the Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Cleanser.
      Pat your face dry.
      Apply Adapalene gel.
      Wait a couple of minutes.
      Apply the CeraVe Gel Moisturizer.
On the other days, simply cleanse your face with the Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Cleanser.
For days when you spend extended time outdoors, start by cleansing your face with the Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Cleanser, pat it dry, and then apply sunscreen. If you're not going outdoors, you can either leave your skin as is or apply the gel moisturizer.

Hi Mel!! I decided to make a comment here since it kind of is in the “cleanser” subject. My question itself isn’t related to this particular cleanser so I might understand if it sounds random but I really look up to your opinions🥹
I have combo and very sensitive skin and for some reason all the cleanser I tried leave my face dry, mostly in the morning..
this wasn’t happening the first periods I started using them. The first I tried was very good for a few months and then started to leave me dry, same thing happened with the second..
I read it could also be skin dehydration but I’m afraid it could be because it strips my skin oils too much? I’m debating whether I should keep trying other cleansers for the morning or stick with just water?
Both cleansers I tried were marked for combo-sensitive skin but they felt way too stripping.. both were foaming ones. (Avene and LRP). I’m kinda lost on what to do, and I’d appreciate your insights.
Even if not, I appreciate you and your content a lot, so thank you for the work you put into it❤️❤️

Hey! 😊 Do you use any other skincare products, besides a cleanser? If so, what do you use? Do you wear makeup? What are your skin concerns? If you do not use any skincare products, sunscreen, or makeup, it's fine to just wash your face with water (AM and/or PM), pat the skin dry, and leave your skin alone. I'm sorry if you have already answered some of these questions in previous comments, but I'm not able to see past conversations.

@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial thank you for your attentiveness ☺️
Don’t worry about asking, I have changed my routine so past comments would’ve been inaccurate 😂
Besides cleanser, I use as active ingredients the ordinary niacinamide in the morning and Azelaic acid 3 times a week only at night. I used to have bad hormonal acne and it left me lots of PIE, so I’m trying to deal with the redness and the acne scars. I’ve been using both ingredients for a while and they have never caused me any breakouts and I don’t suspect them, because even when I stopped using both for a short period, my face still felt tight after cleansing..
Azelaic acid has been slightly drying but I’ve read it’s normal, and ofc I pair it with an hydrating moisturiser. either way both products seemed to have helped so far.. so I’m clueless..
I do wear makeup often but not daily, and I do use sunscreen, LRP anthelios fluid. As moisturiser I’ve been using SVR hydraliane intensive hydra which doesn’t have any actives in it. I really have no clue why my face acts this way. And when putting moisturiser on, it does keep the moisture well but still feels a bit heavy on the skin. The same for sunscreen, even if it’s considered lightweight, feels sitting on my face. I have to add too, to fight the acne I had to go under Birth control (norgestimate + ethinyl estradiol) as well as benzoyl peroxide. Maybe the fact I’m under it makes my skin produce less sebum in the already dried zones I had, like the cheeks? Is my skin just terribly sensitive?
Sorry for the length of the message, any info could be crucial?😂

      @@stocazzo9605 Oh, okay! :)
Since when do you use your BC and Benzoyl Peroxide? Do you still use Benzoyl Peroxide? Is it a gel or cleanser? Since when do you use LRP sunscreen? As all of these could influence your skin.
As for moisturizer, you may need to look into a gel-cream type moisturizer formulation or a hydrating serum like LRP Cicapplast serum or something similar like it. As for your PIE, you may need different treatments done by a dermatologist or beautician, but at the same time, the skin needs time to heal so they may even reduce with time.
As for a cleanser, I find that The Ordinary Glucoside Foaming Cleanser or Beauty of Joseon Green Plum cleanser aren't as drying. Alternatively, you could just wash your face with water in the AM and use a balm cleanser (like Beauty of Joseon cleansing balm) to remove your sunscreen and makeup in the PM because a balm cleanser is really hydrating and gets everything off the skin.

@@MelissaVanDijkOfficial sorry if I have confused you, wanted to give a little background!
Right now I’m not using Benzoyl peroxide anymore and haven’t for a while since the acne is mostly healed. Im trying to take care of the scars. I’m still on BC and have been for a year now and I did notice my skin was way oilier before I went into it. About the LRP sunscreen, I’ve been using it for some months now. Since I felt it too heavy I also opted for the spray version for reapplication and it has been sitting better on my skin, maybe I should look into a gel-type sunscreen as well?
More than everything, I was worried my skin had some issues because of the sensitivity I’ve been feeling and the way products sat on my face. Thank you for your product recommendations, I’ll definitely look into them and see how my skin reacts🥹🫶🏻

@@stocazzo9605 How much sun exposure do you really have? In most cases, sunscreen isn't necessary, or it's fine to apply it in the morning and leave it at that. Reapplication becomes more important if you're on vacation at the beach or hiking, where finding shade isn't possible.
Some PIE will heal on its own; you just need to give the skin some time. Nevertheless, I believe it's best to consult a dermatologist for further treatment.
