Hi Melissa 🥰 I want to ask, so I recently tried using exfoliating toner 0,1% glycolic acid. And some small red pimples/bumps are showing, I use it every 2 times a week. Is it normal?? Or should I increase the usage frequency like everyday or 3 times a week to see the result? Thank you
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I use facial wash, calming toner, exfoliating toner (only 2x a week), and moisturizer. I normally use Neutrogena hydraboost gel as moisturizer but I ran out and bought new moisturizer but it has the same ingredients except ceramide. Do you think the moisturizer can cause the small red bumps? Or the exfoliating toner? I'm not sure if they are pimples of comedones acne...
@@bubblegum8066 Yes, if your skin reacts to certain ingredients or if the formulation is different, it can certainly cause problems. To figure this out, you need to stop using the product for some time and then observe if your condition improves. After that, reintroduce one product at a time. This approach will help you identify what caused the issue, as it's extremely difficult to tell otherwise.
Hello Melissa, I'm planning to use niacinamide. What (brand) can you recommend for time user ? I saw cosrx niacinamide but it's 15% I guess it's not good for first time user. Thank you 😊 Happy New Year btw 🎉
Hey Melissa!! ❤ i hope you are doing well! I’ve found this online DIY acne mask for acne and brightening skin tone, the ingredients are turmeric, yogurt and honey. is this ok for me to use? i’ve made this diy face mask once and left it on for 20 mins. after i used it my face definitely seemed to be clearer and brighter but i just want ur advice on it bc i know diy masks aren’t always the best. thank you so much!!!! ❤❤❤
Hi I have a doubt regarding usage of ordinary vitamin c suspension and ordinary niacinamide Can they both be used together like after applying vitamin c can i apply niacinamide too please help me with it And also can I use my ordinary glycolic toner in the routine?
Hey! :) Avoid using them together. Check this video: ua-cam.com/video/Lt7raeGMv4w/v-deo.htmlsi=J5RtXhDf4cXMCWoJ this applies to the 23% or 30% Suspension. Use Niacinamide in the morning and Vitamin C and Glycolic Acid in the evening, but on separate days.
Don't use them in the same routine. Instead, use a milder gel-to-foam cleanser with the glycolic acid toner. Something like the Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser or the Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Cleanser would be suitable.
Hi ☺️ i know this video isnt related to it but after using retinol and leaving it on for 15-20 mins do you use water to wash it off and then moisturizer or just moisturizer and no water after retinol?
You can leave your Retinol on the skin, and you also don't need to wait as long in between applications. This only applies to Retinoids like Tretinoin. See here: ua-cam.com/video/S0SnEzWLBrU/v-deo.htmlsi=RkmfAe7IM0N19HDL - this video should give you a good understanding of how to use your retinol and what to avoid.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thanks for getting back to me I have the image ageless retinol creme after I apply and leave it for 15 minutes do I apply moisturizer next?
@@jamesoneill6829 You leave your retinol cream on the skin for the entire night (it should be used in the evening), and then follow with your moisturizer on top, if it's still needed.
Hi melissa. I've a confusion ... actually I've four different serums : Vitamin c, Kojic acid, Niacinamide and Retinol. I still haven't used kojic acid serum so can you tell me if i can apply these four serums on alternate days in the morning and night. I mean can i apply vitamin c and kojic acid in the morning on alternate days and then retinol and niacinamide on alternate nights. Or is it too much for my skin😅
Have you already asked me this question before? If so, I can't look it up because UA-cam's search function for comments is a bit unreliable these days, often showing random results. ;) Could you list the names of the products you're using? Have you used these products before? But generally speaking, if you use these serums at alternate times or even on different days, it shouldn't be a major issue. However, if you're using high-strength treatments, it can still become too much over time.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet no i haven't asked this same question but before on your other videos I asked you about layering different serums😅 and yes I understand don't worry 😊
Hey Melissa! I use the cerave resurfacing retionol serum. Can i include this differin product in my routine as well? If yes, how?
Yes, you can use it in the AM. However, CeraVe Retinol already contains Niacinamide :)
@MelissaVanDijkOfficial thanks for the reply!!

Well, it's not normal. Which one are you using? And what else are you using in that routine? Also, is that the only new product you've included?

I still recommend using The Ordinary's Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. And happy new year to you too.

You can layer them in any order :)
Every day after Salicylic face wash then Glycolic acid toner use best way for acne pron skin?
