Hi, Melissa. Do you think I can mix this TO ascorbic acid powder with Cosrx birch sap oil free moisturizer? Btw you look stunning in that hair color ❤❤
Hi I am following you from Sudan. Please help me to prepare a serum - in the simplest ways - that contains ascorbic acid, hyaluronic acid, and alpha arbutin... I have all of them as powder
I recommend researching this on the internet, as I'm not certain about the concentration of each ingredient and pH range, especially if you plan to create a serum for long-term use or storage. In that case, it will likely also require some preservatives.
Hi Melissa, love your content! Would it be possible to mix this product with the Alpha Arbutin 2%? And if so, would you recommend applying it at night? Thank you!!!!
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thanks so much Melissa! Would it be ok then to use the Vit C powder with moisturizer in the evening and the Alpha Arbutin in the morning?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Do you think it would work to first aply 2% alpha arbutin serum, and then vitamin c powder mixed in my moisturizer? This would be my morning routine.
Yes, but I don't think it works that well. I would suggest adding hyaluronic acid or marine hyaluronics to it as well. However, the best approach might be to first mix it with one of the recommended serums (hyaluronic acid or marine hyaluronics), then add a few drops of resveratrol or layer the resveratrol over the mixture on your face.
QUESTION: Can I pre-mix a bottle of Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (30ml) and a bottle of Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% (30ml) together ahead of time, and then just mix a palm sized amount of the mixed liquid with a scoop of the L-Ascorbic Acid powder at the time of face application ?
The problem is that many chemical reactions can occur due to the various pH ranges, especially if the substances have a long time to mix within the bottle. Therefore, I would not recommend it.

It won't dissolve properly, and it can also oxidize. For vitamin C, it's really best to always mix it fresh. If it oxidizes in the bottle (which it will do over time), then it can become harmful to the skin and cause irritation.
How come you don't recommend mixing the vit c with ferulic+ Res serum? .What makes you say doesn't work as well?. I always saw this combo as a recommendation across UA-cam?. Also, why no niacinamide in the same routine. What eveidence is there to to suggest its not as effective or stops one working properly over the over etc ?.
Because Vitamin C is water-soluble, mixing it with ferulic acid and resveratrol does not work as well, as it does not dissolve properly in an anhydrous solution. This means that you should add something with water beforehand for ideal mixing properties. Additionally, there is still some research indicating that Vitamin C and Niacinamide should not be mixed, as they can form a complex, making one or both ingredients potentially ineffective or even harmful.
