i have a Techmoan addiction. when ever i get the notification on my phone that a new video has been uploaded i get so happy!!
Informative video! I tried a few external Tenvis cameras from a UK reseller. They were advertised as having microphones. Lots of testing and hair pulling later revealed they didn't. Even the UK reseller was surprised as her specs/info showed them to have microphones. Moved over to Foscam and now my head has more hair!
You can fiddle with the SD card settings via the web application. Simply access your camera through a browser using the IP address and a whole world of options pop up. You can also hook it up with an FTP server.
I'm impressed that the manufacturer managed to make something that's almost made entirely out of metal immediately look like it was made out of cheap plastic, that takes some effort. Not bad for the price, I wonder if the quality improves in total darkness if you use an IR emitter like the one you mentioned, logically I think it would.
That infrared black/white footage did look like the LOST footage - u were so right Techmoan.
What's the point of this if it cannot record, email and motion detection doesn't work?
Thanks for another brilliant video.
Could you please review one of those cheap 8channel home cctv systems from eBay? Keep the good work going!
Thanks for reviewing IP camera's!
Always fantastic brilliant job as ever
"Hey robber i know you're stealing my stuff, but could you leave those library books, the late fees are outrageous if i don't return them"
hi sir, could you do a xiaomi yi ip camera review? i heard it is a very high quality and extremely cheap camera.
Excellent video, but i wonder, can the TH671, connect to WIFI home network? To avoid changing the connection all the time...
Regarding the motion detection not working, I have a similar ip cam and noticed that I do get alerted when the camera is physically moved, not when it sees motion.
Hey, tech, i love all your videos, and i start recoding my ones, i have a question, how did you make your white background screen? could you explain that?
I enjoyed this video as usual, and I am interested in getting a security camera for outside my house. There are plenty on ebay going cheap, so would you be able to do some more reviews of them, such as non ip cameras.
I also wanted to get a dash cam, and liked the recent vico vation camera with the rear view camera on the long lead. If only they could put the front facing camera on an equally long lead (as you said) I would definitely get one.
Just bought two of these. Already got the Tenvis IPRobot3. Not the best camera I ever saw, but for the $80 it cost you won't find a better PTZ camera. I agree the software is all a bit poor, but once you've set it up there is a lot of other software you can use. And for the IR stuff, well ducttape goes a long way. Thanks for all these video's, they're great!
You are the best Techmoan. You have helped me alot with my business.
Thank you
have you considered some black tape over the leds's
Always watch your video’s and love your sense of humour! Great reviews, very informative. Went into Staples today they have got an outdoor IP camera for £99, which I think is cheap ( könig sas ipcam115) do you know of any other outdoor IP camera for this price, or cheaper. Thanks
How do you configure it to be able to access from a remote location? Does it stream to a central server and the app simply pulls from it?
Thanks for another top moan, very interesting. I have wanted to try the night sun outside camera inside idea my self. Could you use black tape, foil or cardboard over the ir leds + blue leds to make it work with ir lamp outside? However this still leaves the steamed up window problem to solve. If you can find a camera that would work in the above set up I am sure many people would be interested. As always keep up the good work.
Another good, to the point video.
Taking into account all the pros and cons, this camera is good value.
I think I'll get one just to keep an eye on my parrots cage when I'm of the house for a long time. This is all i need for that job...hoping it works on android app?
Cheers!
Again a great video.
Onvif might be unknown to you, but it's quite interesting. Basically when you buy a network video recorder (NVR) nowadays you get a ONVIF compatible one, next you are able to link up all onvif compatible camera's, no need for support for a specific device.
Also what might interest you, some nas devices like the Synology, have NVR software (Like Surveillance station), they support a lot of camera's and also Onvif devices. Get a camera like this which has Onvif and simply connect them via onvif. Very easy to set-up.
However not all Onvif is equal, there are some different versions and it is possible for some onvif compatible devices not to work with each other. Which defeats it's purpose i suppose, but these are rare.
Is there any performance deterioration when at the edge of wifi range?
super review, thank you
i am playing with ESCAM QF605 : same shape and almost same problem (bad app, email alarm not working, but not blue led and sd record is working)
Hi, Can we watch live streaming from this camera over 3g or from office internet?
Hi there, I want to put a camera on my 3d printer so my niece and nephew can get online and watch a print, would an ip cam be the right setup or is there a different way to go? I want to be able to email or text my niece and nephew when I start a print then they can go online to see my camera feed and I don't know how to do it. Thanks a million.
any chance you know of a good home camera system that works?
min 4cam
"Looks like The Enterprise in there" @1:33 made me chortle
Yes another great video, especially I need to find something within next 6 weeks. It would be great for me but I need the alarm notification working. If you find something decent below 100£ please make a review.
Was that Luigi display from a Luigi's Mansion 2 pre-order?
Will this fit inside of my Black Box LED Clock.
Could you tell me exactly which android app I need to use this on my smartphone?
I've been on the Google play store but there are a few on there. Haven't found one the specifies this model camera.
DjK Productions use the QR code in your manual to find the app.
Techmoan Ok cheers!
Thanks for the review... I know now not to buy this one... to many cons. I need it to record to a micro SD card.
We got a camera outside our house and I can say, it's very hard to setup. That computer software was just getting the camera settings to computer or something.
Is that an iphone 6 or the 6 plus It look huge in your hand!
I can't connect via the 4g network. I've tried 3G also and cannot view remotely. Wifi works fine.... Can you help?
I Googled it and apparently ‘aluminous’ is actually a real word to describe something made of aluminium. Although if you say “aluminous holder” out loud, it just sounds like a holder that gives off light xD
the sarcasm in this video. holy shit
I'm looking for a cheap HD camera that works well blue iris. I picked up a zmodo model for around £50 off ebay; while it's framerate was excellent using the activex plugin in internet explorer, the framerate plummeted when using blue iris. onvif my arse.
Hey can you review a PTZ Camera?
Why would they program a date as far back as 1970? I highly doubt that wireless digital videos were a thing that far back.
That George Lucas reference was obscure but brilliant!
Having a lot of difficulty finding one of these for sale now. Anyone found one?
Where can I get one in Canada!?
Hey do it have to stay plug in
I like your reviews because they continue to show me how much garbage there is out there on the market, disguised as useful salable products. I have quite a few items of junk I use as paperweights that promised the world but delivered very little. Thanks.
Nice job.
So is it really 720p? (or 480p upscaled)
does it need the power source
Hello, please help: 5:07 where the password is i get stuck... it won't accept the default admin and have no idea what to do... please help. loosing my patience and feel I will show it how to fly soon.
If you want a decent outdoor camera then the IPCC-B12N is badass. I have 3 of them recording 720p 247 around my house with more to come. They are replacing SD cameras I currently have and do an awesome job.
They range from £35 to £50 and come with the standard generic firmware, you will need a NVR either software based (BlueIris) or hardware (AliExpress has a $50 "10x1080p" recorder..)
If you want one here is a eBay UK link, www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IPCC-H-264-1-4-inch-HD-720P-ONVIF-IR-Motion-Security-CCTV-IR-P2P-Audio-Camera-UK-/221406457955?pt=UK_CCTV&hash=item338cda7063
Another job well done. *Great job Mate!* _Some IP camera you buy off eBay are total garbage - at least some things work on this camera_
lol @ the spelling errors in the app. ;)
TH671&672は使いやすくて良いですね。
You could put tape over the LEDs.
As for the SD card problem; could it be that the cam needs to format it first in their own proprietary way? Maybe the cam will set up a special directory and if it does not find it balks at writing to the card.
Seeing the various typos they made I'd not be surprised they may have accidentally screwed up the SD card writing logic as well. V2.0 will have it fixed :-)
Thanks for the review. Can't wait for the next email alert. Even if I do not need the product reviewed it is entertaining to watch. Maybe some day the BBC will start an IT reality show; you have my vote to be the host :-)
Hmm, Foscam seems far more mature in IPCamera's it seems.
The app isn't perfect either, but it does what it needs.
It does however have the same click when switching to the IR filter, definitely audible from a distance.
I'm just waiting for a proper quality IP-Camera that has IR LED's that aren't visible, you didn't mention it but under around 900nm the LED's are actually emitting a subtle red glow.
I don't know what the manufacturers of these products are doing, but I think it might be more practical to just get a webcam or dashcam/actioncamera, plug it into a Raspberry Pi and have an external IR lightsource. I bet the results would be better anyway. Of course that wouldn't be able to connect to your phone without proper IT knowledge, but as a reliable "black box" it could very well be the best solution.
Thanks for doing another IP camera review, didn't think you'd do another one of those.
Cheers Mat.
Liking the WOPR WiFi name :)
Great video - Really helpful and informative
Please try and find some other similar products to compare
I'm actually interested in that IR Emitter in your video. I'm unable to find it on ebay... probably using the wrong search string. Any help would be much appreciated? Btw, I can't use amazon, I'm based in Malaysia :( lucky me!

Introducing the Mirco SD card! Much smlaler than traditional SD cards, the Mirco DS can also hlod multitudes more gagibtyes and is rated cassl ten or hgireh!
looks good :)
gd video. please do a review on "varram appbot link" a wireless patrol home security self charging rover vehicle with motion alert. £140 EBAY.
Certainly can't grumble about the price, but not sure about the quality or long term usability. I used to have a Foscam, but found their setup to be tedious, especially if your router doesn't fit the requirements. Now I use a UCam247i-1080HD, which is a breeze to set up and use (although is 3 times the price).
The 90's called... ahahah. Priceless! Excelent reviews by the way! Congrats
yeah.......the USS Enterprise!
cool review though.didn't know anything about such an item
If you need a good IP Cam, look at models from mobotix or axis :)
This seems to be a rather nice camera for its price! :D The chinese are getting better at all this!
*Japanese since I spotted some カタカナ in the video.
I'm offended so are you saying that we Asians are dumb? Jk Hahahaha (:
Ever thought of blacking out IR LED's by just taping electrical tape over them and try out what it can see outside the windows?
I have an ez cam and I set it up on my home network. It worked great until I had to change my modem and router. Now I can't get the cam to connect or reset. I have searched and attempted to contact tech support but could never get through. I want this to work but right now it's getting a thumbs down. Any help is greatly appreciated if anyone in the know happens by. I would love to buy more of these if I know they work!
+Jesse Price whether your problem solved? still need any help?
Yes I still need help! It seems the camera will only connect to the very first WiFi network it learned. I have tried the reset button but it will not connect to my home WiFi.
And thank you for helping :) I had given up hope
13:07 ghots orb? prob not but weird
How were you able to record yourself when the camera doesnt save to SD card?
PaperGlazed A camera pointing at a phone screen.
Techmoan You have a mac right? You can record your iPhone screen on your mac. Do a quick video search for it, meant to be a easy thing to do.
George Aspin HOW TO RECORD YOUR IPAD screen on to your Mac OS X YOSEMITE plus Fifa 15 ut Quality test spot on
You could just put tape on the light up LEDs and fancy LEDs
I recommend the tennis IP robot 3. Better than this and it has pan tilt.
You do can find Mirco-SD cards on eBay. Maybe it works with one of those. :-D
11:55 i was thinking some robber is coming with black mask
Is the base magnetic? Does anyone know?
Chris New No - and I do.
Techmoan
Thank you kindly for such a quick reply. I'm not sure where I got the idea from that is was magnetic. Keep up the great work with your video's I enjoy watching them and always look forward to the new ones. Thank you once again.
+Techmoan :( - Everyone knows
mirco SD 😊
James May is that you?
Why did it need your password in order to push an e-mail? Sounds really fishy if you ask me.
MrJason005 hi
Try a dlink ip camera
I very much enjoy your reviews, normally. One of the things that I like is the thoroughness in most of them. But - quite frankly - this one made me laugh.
On one hand you hardly bother at all with the enclosed CD, and on the other hand you complain about some features that don't seem to work. I could scarcely believe it.
Now, of course I can't say that they WOULD work if you'd use the CD, I just think it might be a good idea to at least examine the software before passing judgement.
Ahhh, busted! A fellow nail junkie! Bite or pick? I pick.
can u charge it and then just use it
Usman Hussain It doesn't contain a battery.
:|
+Techmoan Did you ever get motion to work.
+Usman Hussain You could of course hook it up to a simple battery pack for your phone. Those'll give you a couple of hours of filming time.
When they can't even proofread their menu options correctly it doesn't inspire confidence in their build.
LOL "The 1990's called..."
I literally just realised, you remind me of James May.
Maybe it IS James May....DUN DUN DUNNNNNN
I think this is a P2P camera not a IP camera.
Looks a lot like Dropcam.
"Buy one AMAZON"? :)
6+ again
Engrish typos not good! Make me ronder if code has bugs!
:-)
lozz
Веб-камера USB 12 МП с микрофоном 5$ ali.pub/dzyju
No Its not sarcasm...
its the "I soooo hate mainland Chinese small company quick cash grab products".
Just stay away from these companies...it might be cheap, but you will pay the price in time spend trying to configure their products that will have all sorts of problems
not to mention
little to no english and doing nothing about it even though they have been in business 5+ years. All they care about is the quick yen from you fill up your land fill
Can you give away some of your ítems
Should I, really? Not watch any of your entertaining videos, what a shame.
miiiikku ?
Techmoan Because wifi password is "I think you need a hobby", so I thought you are kind of making a joke there.
These cameras are total crap - stay clear.
