Sam's mum hears a bang on the attic floor... "Does Sam want a cup of tea... ahhh... no; he must have a loco on the express points!" Good job mukka. A fair review. Merry Xmas from Oz to you and your family. Gaz
That's a magnificent looking loco from Bachmann Sam. It's good that they've added proper wheel bearings, all that's left now is for these major companies to produce reliable motors, and there will be many happy owners out there...Bob
I was lucky enough to be able to purchase a sound fitted one last year and am quite happy with it. The fire box flicker is very realistic on the DCC and the sound is spot on. I use it to haul a couple of Hornby Midland clerestories and they look superb behind this loco as a branch train.
Nice one Sam. A Bachmann steam loco with all the frills and about time too. Hornby, I hope you have seen how good the build quality on this loco is. It is time to have a word with your Chinese manufactures and let's see how good next year can be. Martin. (Thailand)
I’ve found that the coreless motors require a bit more run-in than usual, they’re great performers on DCC, but they ABSOLUTELY require a decoder made especially for coreless motors; the regular pulse-width modulation used by ordinary decoders will overheat coreless motors, and since they don’t have much armature mass, they can overheat quite badly… and quickly. There’s no problem on DC as long as your power pack outputs smooth, filtered DC. 😊
I’ll give Sam an extra star for including the measurement of proper track gauge on the wheel sets; not all the Internet reviewers tick this box. Good going! 😍
It is nice to see you get a good loco again after the streak of bad luck you have been having recently with them, Also really nice to see the traction tyres be an option for the user too, looks like a great little loco, and great video man!
Wow, what an amazing tank engine! The review it's self is a great one and the model is such an extraordinary steam locomotive for Bachmann! Well done Bachmann! Well done for making an actually great steam loco for once!
I have finally received mine from Rails on pre-order. Delay was due to Royal Mail dealing with four times the usual post for this time of year. Everyone ordering online of course due to Covid. I must admit i was chomping at the bit awaiting it's arrival as you can imagine. I am going to leave opening the box & relive those childhood memories of getting an engine on Xmas day. Your review has certainly made me even more excited & obviously can't wait to see it running on my layout. Thanks again Sam for another expertly reviewed model. Have a good Christmas!
Thanks for sharing Richard - yes I was waiting impatiently for mine too - at least we both have them now! Hope you have a fantastic Christmas day, and enjoy that moment of opening the box at long last! Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Thanks mate - was quite impressed by that! I don't usually find Bachmann to be the most efficient of manufacturers, but this one changed my mind a bit! Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Absolutely stonking little model these are. So good in fact that instead of buying the one DC model I had pre-ordered from my local shop, I walked away with two DCC sound ones instead; Midland and BR black. You know the worst thing about these 1Ps? Having spent £450 on two of them, I want more! If that is the only thing I can criticise them for, then they're golden! Yes, the bogie pickups on one of mine needed a tweak, but the other was absolutely perfect. So good in fact that I could lay tissue on the track and have only one axle picking up, it doesn't matter which, and it crawled off on speed step 1 perfectly every single time! After tweaking the bogie pickup on the other one, that behaves identically too. One thing I am noticing with these coreless motors is that they seem better suited to DCC, and with the right CV settings the lack of a flywheel is actually a good thing. I've fitted the blanking plug to test mine, and I believe they are both smoother on DCC than they are on DC.
Hey Sam! I saw somewhere else in the comments (though I can’t seem to find the exact comment at the minute) that you may be interested in live steam! If you are, I can’t recommend Accucraft’s “Ruby” highly enough, as an owner of one. It’s price is more than reasonable as far as live steam locomotives go, it looks nice, it’s mechanically simple and a great beginner live steam locomotive overall. Cheers!
Well done on another great review. Lovely looking loco do you find the new motors better than the 3 pole ones Bachmann use. Also I like that you take the time to demonstrate how to swap the wheels for the pair with the traction tyres. Merry Christmas 😊
Thanks so much! Yes I think the performance was much better than their old 3 pole style. I'd prefer this over those! I thought the demo would be important yeah! :D Merry Christmas - Sam :)
It’s such a gorgeous engine and I really do hope they make more because I put off ordering one of these too long and missed out, still hopefully next time fingers crossed. I reckon a double header with the L&YR class 5 and the 1P would look fantastic.

A superb little engine. Looked really nice with the little Hornby generic four wheeled coaches in crimson lake. Imagine how nice it would look with a set of those new Hattons Genesis coaches in the same colour.

A really great review of a beautiful locomotive. Many thanks Sam the 1P looks absolutely fantastic and with those coaches, what an elegant train. Thanks again.
Excellent review as always Sam! Really is a superb model! Just had a play with my SDJR blue version! Still got to pick up the BR version from my local model shop, I've had that one on order since it was announced back in 17. Again that model is a SDJR loco! So perfect for my new layout ;) Love the 7F and Southern coaches combo, very S&D!!! Keep up the great work :)
The EFE range is meant to be their version of the Railroad range to compete with Hornby and the special commissions from the big dealers like Hattons. Unfortunately though I think they got lost with the pricing on the models on offer which are mostly old models from their own range or other manufacturers like Heljan and DJ models.
Wow! Do you really think the EFE rail range is their attempt at the Railroad range?! I think it would be.... except they're mostly priced *above and beyond* premium models!! ;D Merry Christmas - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains that's what Bachmann marketed it as. They said it was a rival for the cheaper models sold by Hattons and hornby unfortunately I think they missed the part about keeping them reasonably priced like the other manufacturers.
Hi Sam, I was very interested to see and hear what you had to say about the s Johnson 1P. I first saw it in the Bachmann 2018 catalogue and I immediately pre-ordered one from Rails of Sheffield. I opted to purchased the DCC Sound fitted version. Mine is in transit to the States and I am eagerly anticipating it’s arrival. It certainly is a beautiful beast, isn’t it. I do love that superb finish. I am really glad the manufacturers are producing more locomotives in their pre-grouping liveries. I just wish they would do more of it. How about a Claud Hamilton in Great Eastern Ultra-marine Blue? On another note, I was excited to see the Locomotion Models/Rails of Sheffield announcement of the LNWR Precedent 2-4-0s. They will really pair with the Hatton’s 4 and 6 wheel carriages, as will the 1P. Cheers, John
Thanks a lot John - all the best with yours, fingers crossed it survives the journey okay! They certainly would look amazing with some midland genesis coaches! :D Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Most were rebuilt with Belpaire boilers and they lost their safety valves on the dome and brass churn. A final batch of similar locos was built by the LMS in 1932 - they were the first locos to appear when Stanier took over. The last ones were on the Romford branch. The LMS locos were on Watford to St Albans and Lancaster to Morecombe. Presumably they had many common parts with the Midland 1F half cabs. Separately glazed windows mean you see the edges of the glazing. Probably better not to glaze individually.
Duly noted, many thanks for sharing! Not sure about that with the separately glazed windows - the ones I've seen look far better- which ones have the edges showing? Merry Christmas - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains It depends on the thickness of the glazing material. The edge show light due to internal reflection. Microscope slide cover glass is used by scratch builders, I believe.
Hi, Sam'sTrains. I love this model, period😄. Bachmann really is starting to learn their lessons.😂 Definitely the best model of 2020 and a great way to end it as well. -Jason
Wow! Bachmann have really stepped their game up! First that stellar Class 37 and now this one. Also that well-executed livery really brings out the Victorian elegance of this model. One curiosity: would the splashers accommodate a reworking to P4 gauge, or would they need to be brought outwards as well?
I bought the SDJR version which I joined the collectors club for. So £149 + £32 makes it a pricey loco. I used to visit Mid Sommer Norton regularly so it had to be this one. Reasons. I don't have a layout yet but I did run it in on the rolling road. It ran fine. However I hadn't realised there were pick ups on the small rear wheel set so that needs looking at as they weren't running. Overall its a lovely loco. Very expensive the way I bought it but I have a feeling its going to be my favourite loco. Have a good Christmas Sam.
Wow! They didn't even discount it below the RRP, even though you were a member? Sounds a bit greedy to me! Definitely a great loco though - I can see it becoming a favourite of many! :D Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Received mine a couple of days ago. Got to admit I am not disappointed. Very nice. I had to pre order it a few months ago. I think they have sold out all the maroon and BR versions.
Really enjoy your channel Sam. My wife mocks your accent, we sound like people from the movie Fargo, she shouldn’t throw stones. Have a great Christmas, stay well my UK brother. I always look forward to seeing the “donkey” on the flat car. (:
Lovely review 👌 handsome little engine aswell. I did how ever notice a horse on top of your passenger bridge😂 least I’m not the only one having horses roam wild on a layout!
Oh wow, seeing this beauty of an engine along with the parked engines and their coaches makes me want to see a full crimson lake running session (both in terms of engine liveries and coach liveries)
Glad yours worked I opened mine and screws and springs fell out and stuff was rattling around inside. Went back to Rails. To add insult to injury I got Rails Terrier today that managed one circuit then it stopped working and was hot to touch something had fried inside!
Were you the guy who tweeted about this? So sorry to see yours was in poor condition. Not surprised about the Terrier - I wasn't at all impressed with mine, and I've heard tell of many failures!! Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Hi Sam, nice review. I bought one of these last week from my local model railway shop in Norwich. They seemed to have plenty of them. I saw it and it was an impulse buy - I never usually do that.
Sam, I'm slowly loosing my money to trains - I have about £225. Saving up for an 0 guage show in March, D9nt know if it will go ahead; But still. I may buy this engine! Thanks and Merry Christmas!
It’s good too see dc models are getting dcc effects. I hope they can try to get sound on dc soon. A great idea for the future of model locomotives could be the reverser rod moving when you switch direction and even a moving regulator for when your loco starts to move.
Train tech do a sound system for DC locomotives which is battery powered. You can fit the sound in a carriage or wagon and as soon as the locomotive starts to move it senses the movement starts the steam engine chuff sounds. They also do one for diesel locomotives as well and a massive range of other electronic tech for model railways.
Excellent video, as always. A beautiful loco, I certainly want one. I only have 1 0-4-4T so far, a hornby m7, but on my list are a kernow o2, a 1p as here, and a H class, as well as the G5 which was announced in early 2017 but has been pushed back to 2022. I received a new hornby terrier earlier, 13 Carisbrooke in BRITISH RAILWAYS malachite green (so I might get an o2 that matches), looks amd runs fantastically, much better than the ex-dapol model.
Hey Sam, absolutely loved the video and that 1P really is a stunning model. Quick question: Would you ever consider reviewing a Dapol Class 68? Also merry Christmas Sam.
Hi Sam. What a smashing little loco Sam I will get me one of these if they come round again in the midland red absolutely lovely .what i like about your reviews Sam is that you are fair and give credit where its dew. Well done again with a great review.
Hi Sam, Nice review and at last a Bachmann loco living up to expectation. That is applaudable seen the price is within reason for a beautiful quality model. Yes, I 'd put this on my wishlist if they run another batch. It's a winner just like the Dapol GWR Mogul. Standards are rising and as model railroaders we can only be thankful ( and buy one )! Thanks for sharing. Greetings
34:35 that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen 😂😂😂 What a beautiful model I hope the traction tyre situation with this model is the same as the precedent class.
Quoting the Precedent launch video: "There's actually a spare pair of wheels in the box as well, for those people who are not bothered about traction as much, you can actually put a standard set of wheels in". The listing on Rails website does not state that the model will be boxed without traction tyres fitted, and instead says "The model incorporates a die-cast body and chassis with a set of optional traction tyre-fitted driving wheels for increased haulage capacity" - also suggesting the tyres will be fitted as standard. The listing photos also appear to show rubber tyres fitted. If they have clarified that the metal tyres will be fitted as standard, please point that out to me! Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Hi, terrific model and enjoyable review, I highly doubt I’ll ever get this one as they’re all sold out. Well, at least I’m getting a superdetail Hornby B17 for Christmas!
Hi Sam, Just got the S&DJR version with sound. Unlike the Bachmann 117, the speaker is of a good quality & provides a good level of sound. Unusually, for the firebox you have to use the F6 to open the firebox door, you then see just the red LED, when you press F9 you get the shovelling & then the red & yellow LEDs flicker. Great review & very fair. Have a great Xmas!
That sounds epic Boa, glad to hear the sound is good! Very interesting about the flickering LEDs - that doesn't make any sense does it? Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Beautiful! Looks absolutely superb with the four wheel coaches. Maybe some genesis midland coaches in the future? Shame they haven’t made any in an LMS Red, I’d be all over that like a seagull with a hot chip!
I thought I would have mine for £111 from Rails,as I had placed the order at the end of June but, ended up paying the same as you have, and, they also charged me for postage. Before, I obtained Hornby 6201 Princess Elizabeth, pug51207,and the Ransom Rapier breakdown crane, and they were sent post free,I don't know what is happening now, perhaps there has been a change in policy?
Hi sam I was not expecting any off till 2021 My review just gone up of the Bachmann collectors club locomotive. And yes am in Love with it. Lots of details sm glad you shown how to take the base plate off very handy thank you. I hate traction tyres no need for them in 2020 in my opinion Merry Christmas Keep safe arp
Thanks a lot Adi, will look at your review later on! No need for tyres agreed, but fortunately they weren't fitted to the model! :D Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Re: traction tires; my Roco Austrian Railways class 1020 electric has 6-axle drive, a strong 5-pole can motor, weighs 517 grammes, and has 4 traction tires. Continental European manufacturers are obsessed with traction tires, whether the models need them or not. North American models seem to never come with them, and none of my UK models have them either.
Thanks for sharing Kenneth - I'm very glad that manufacturers of British trains don't tend to use them - I'm certainly not a fan! Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Great Video Sam And I Will Be Getting A Czech Republic Flag For My Birthday Next Year And I've Never Had A Czech Republic Flag Before So That's Why I'm Getting One For My Birthday Which I'm So Excited For
I agree with you it does look a very detailed model. The spare wheels are an innovative idea like Dapols Mogul tender connection and slide out decoder board. It's good manufacturers are coming up with solutions to problems that have been around for ages. I think it's a reasonable price for the model. If it were Marklin it would be another £100 or so more.
I agree whith you about the bachmanns tank engine. And i think that Bachmann has pulled it off and the color livery is so crisp and so ritch maroon color. I love this nice loco. And i hope for every one that bachmann has a mutch better planing when it comes to allotments than Hornby had. I just cant get enuogh of the british steam locos. But my favorite loco from Great Brittan is the Detlic diesel loco whith the Napier deltic v16 cyl engine. Keep up the good work Sam. 👍👍👍😊😊😊👍👍👍
At a cost of anywhere between £99 to £149 I will stick to the HD or Wrenn versions. Yes, there is a difference in the level of detail but you can add detailing if you so wish. Incidentally, any fitted with rear windscreen wipers; were either only on one side or were so small they are barely noticeable.
Another detailed valuable review from Sam and no-one else I have seen. Looks very tempting but pricing, lack of diecast boiler and tanks, no flywheel, geared too fast, no gearbox to help with simple motor swaps, unreliable scraper pick ups on bogie, Bachmann limiting production to keep prices up, being sold out as a result, firebox glow not working well on DC, circuit board wiring too easy to fail and handrails not strong enough and already broken. These points and others may keep my score down and stop me purchasing. 0-4-4s are always difficult to get working well due to weight distribution limiting weight on the driving wheels. Had the feeling the Midland had a very similar passenger 0-6-0T that would give less problems.
Thanks so much John! You're right, the model wasn't perfect, and I don't like the idea of limiting production to keep prices up, but on balance I thought most of the issues were relatively minor, and I found the loco very much fit for purpose! Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Glad to see Bachmann getting their arses into gear with steamies at last. Brian Hughes has bought the sound version which is impressive and obviously being DCC, the firebox flickers and slams shut.
the window glazing is the only real negative of recent Bachmann steam locos which are great models but surely they could make individual glazed windows, especially for the price.........lovely model though, and im not a fan of crimson but looks great on this. I have the collectors club blue model SD&JR which is just gorgeous !!
To have bearings, brilliant. I have a limited issue S & D blue, which I noted was very quiet. Considering that these would not be expected to pull more than 6 coaches, so the non-tyred one is realistic. I think they could have used metal valve cover. I ordered mine 2 years ago. Ironically, I haven't yet received my order from a local supplier, because Bachmann haven't sent them to them yet.

So perfect for my new layout ;) Love the 7F and Southern coaches combo, very S&D!!! Keep up the great work :)
Thanks so much mate - ooh wow, the SDJR version really looks stunning, and totally perfect for you!!
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
My Bachmann club S&DJR just arrived, this is stunning. Frightened to run it in case it gets dirty
That's amazing - hope you really enjoy it David! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Bachmann are picking up they're game.👍 Hopefully Bachmann will make they're own railroad range
I think it would be.... except they're mostly priced *above and beyond* premium models!! ;D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains that's what Bachmann marketed it as. They said it was a rival for the cheaper models sold by Hattons and hornby unfortunately I think they missed the part about keeping them reasonably priced like the other manufacturers.
Looks amazing. Another great video you always make me feel happy during the pandemic ❤
Thanks mate, that's so lovely to hear! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
I like Sylvester the cat❤️
Last Christmas I got a Thomas Bachman set, I love it so much
Ooh awesome - they are fun sets aren't they?! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Yea btw I’m a huge fan
Hey Sam, I'm loving the 'Easy Winners' Rag. My favourite is 'the Cascades'!
Thanks Simon! Not familiar with that one - will have to listen to that! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
It’s perfect! Got mine today more than happy with having to wait so long for such a lovely engine! Look forward to my 94xx now cheers Ryan
Thanks a lot Ryan, and amazing to hear yours is perfect too! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
-Jason
Thanks a lot Jason, they certainly are learning - their last few steamers have been far better! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Sheer Craft, Imaculate Loco, and as usual fantastic review Sam.
Merry Christmas, Cheers. (:
Thanks so much Aman, glad you thought so! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Wow! Bachmann have really stepped their game up! First that stellar Class 37 and now this one. Also that well-executed livery really brings out the Victorian elegance of this model.
One curiosity: would the splashers accommodate a reworking to P4 gauge, or would they need to be brought outwards as well?
Definitely - last few Bachmann locos have been awesome haven't they? That's a good question, I'm not sure about that!
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Hey Sam, I was looking into this model today actually and to think you uploaded a video reviewing it is beyond coincidental. Good video.
haha that's awesome - great minds think alike! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains I just checked. They all sold out but they do have the sound version at £249.95!
Funny that you've reviewed this loco, I was looking at them the other day 🤔
Remember... a rolling stone gathers no Moss! So... a looking Moss gathers no locos! Hehehe...
haha awesome! Are you tempted?! ;D

Received mine a couple of days ago. Got to admit I am not disappointed. Very nice. I had to pre order it a few months ago. I think they have sold out all the maroon and BR versions.
Glad to hear that Gavin - and good choice pre-ordering, they all have sold out now!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Really enjoy your channel Sam. My wife mocks your accent, we sound like people from the movie Fargo, she shouldn’t throw stones. Have a great Christmas, stay well my UK brother. I always look forward to seeing the “donkey” on the flat car. (:
Thanks so much Tim, haha!! Stay safe my friend, have a good one!
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
That would be awesome actually - wonder if I have enough for that?!
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains yes 2 duds in on week. Interesting to know it not just me with the Terrier
Hi Sam, nice review. I bought one of these last week from my local model railway shop in Norwich. They seemed to have plenty of them. I saw it and it was an impulse buy - I never usually do that.
Thanks very much Clive - hope you enjoy yours! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Can't believe a bachman model made it too the top 5 this is what bachman needs to do more of
I know - we need much more of this in future! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Sam, I'm slowly loosing my money to trains - I have about £225. Saving up for an 0 guage show in March, D9nt know if it will go ahead; But still. I may buy this engine! Thanks and Merry Christmas!
haha I know the feeling mate - I've blown a lot of money on trains too, lol! ;D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
It’s good too see dc models are getting dcc effects. I hope they can try to get sound on dc soon. A great idea for the future of model locomotives could be the reverser rod moving when you switch direction and even a moving regulator for when your loco starts to move.
Yeah that is quite good actually - and that'd be absolutely amazing! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Thanks so much Lapis, I've wondered about the o2 as well, maybe will try them one day! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
certainly gives me hope for the upcoming McIntosh 812s that Rails of Sheffield have commissioned from Bachmann after the RoS/Dapol terrier mess.
Absolutely!! They had better bet at least this level of quality... hoping to see a diecast boiler on those too!
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Try reviewing the Bachmann USA 0-6-0 side tank Porter because it has a decoder installed by factory and runs well in both DC and DCC
Great idea Nathan, those do sound good! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Hey Sam, absolutely loved the video and that 1P really is a stunning model.
Quick question: Would you ever consider reviewing a Dapol Class 68?
Also merry Christmas Sam.
Thanks a lot Cal, they are! Sure - it's on my list of locos to review! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Hi Sam. What a smashing little loco Sam I will get me one of these if they come round again in the midland red absolutely lovely .what i like about your reviews Sam is that you are fair and give credit where its dew. Well done again with a great review.
Thanks very much Tony - fingers crossed for more! Really appreciate your kind words,
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Greetings
Thanks Filip - I agree, while expensive, the model does absolutely deliver!! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
34:35 that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen 😂😂😂
What a beautiful model I hope the traction tyre situation with this model is the same as the precedent class.

Hopefully I'll get a J15
I have just bought one watching this so they aren't all sold out :)
Thanks James, the B17 sounds awesome - hope you like that one! :D

What an absolutely lovely looking loco! I do love crimson and maroon coloured steam locos
Thanks mate - me too - lovely aren't they?! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Hi Sam,
Just got the S&DJR version with sound.
I think that if there were more produced I would certainly consider getting one...especially in the lovely MR livery that you got!
Glad to hear that Harry - let's hope for more! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Beautiful! Looks absolutely superb with the four wheel coaches. Maybe some genesis midland coaches in the future? Shame they haven’t made any in an LMS Red, I’d be all over that like a seagull with a hot chip!
Thanks a lot Lach, yeah I liked her with those coaches too! Sure, Genesis ones would be even better! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
I thought I would have mine for £111 from Rails,as I had placed the order at the end of June but, ended up paying the same as you have, and, they also charged me for postage. Before, I obtained Hornby 6201 Princess Elizabeth, pug51207,and the Ransom Rapier breakdown crane, and they were sent post free,I don't know what is happening
now, perhaps there has been a change in policy?
Sorry to hear that Michael - I don't believe I was charged postage for mine, so what's going on there?!
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Edit: I it was part of an order with 2 other models, so maybe I only paid for one set of postage? Not sure!
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Another great review sam keep them coming i really enjoy hem dave
Thanks a lot Dave, glad to hear that! :D

Hi sam
I was not expecting any off till 2021
My review just gone up of the Bachmann collectors club locomotive.
And yes am in Love with it. Lots of details sm glad you shown how to take the base plate off very handy thank you.
I hate traction tyres no need for them in 2020 in my opinion
Merry Christmas
Keep safe arp
Thanks a lot Adi, will look at your review later on! No need for tyres agreed, but fortunately they weren't fitted to the model! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Nice to se yet another fantastic review and locomotive!!
Thanks so much mate! :D
You should experiment with adding lead shot to the boiler for ballast in order to improve traction without the tyres fitted.
Good idea, that might help! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
Great Video Sam And I Will Be Getting A Czech Republic Flag For My Birthday Next Year And I've Never Had A Czech Republic Flag Before So That's Why I'm Getting One For My Birthday Which I'm So Excited For

3 years on the loco was still selling for £149.95 before retail discount. Lucky for me got one last week (LMS version) for £70.
Thanks John, yes quite innovative - never seen that before on a British model!!
Merry Christmas - Sam :)

Thanks a lot Oden, they really did a great job!

@@SamsTrains You are wellcome Sam.

Hey Sam, I love your videos! Merry Christmas!
Thanks so much Thomas! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains Thank you! :D
@@SamsTrains It's a huge honor to talk to you! :D
The rear bogie is actually a proper Bissel Truck since it pivots outside of its own axles.
Absolutely Wayne, great to see an amazing steamer from them at last! :D
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
the window glazing is the only real negative of recent Bachmann steam locos which are great models but surely they could make individual glazed windows, especially for the price.........lovely model though, and im not a fan of crimson but looks great on this. I have the collectors club blue model SD&JR which is just gorgeous !!
Definitely - it certainly could be worse couldn't it? Wow, the SDJR one does look incredible!
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
I agree Don - nice quality touch that! Sure, I didn't think the pulling power sans-tyres was at all unimpressive!
Merry Christmas - Sam :)
