AMD Insider Kepler: “The way Sony handles backwards compatibility is very complex, and it requires the new hardware to run at the same or higher clock speed, even if the new hardware is faster at lower clock speeds,” Kepler explained. “If they are using Zen6 dense cores for PS6, they can’t target 4GHz+ for the PS5 Pro as that could break backwards compatibility.”
GTA V Might Not Need PS5 Pro…
According to Digital Foundry founder Rich Leadbetter, speaking in the latest episode of DF Direct, the PS5 Pro’s CPU means GTA 6 will probably run at 30fps, assuming GTA 6 runs at 30fps on the standard PS5. Given no GTA game has launched with a 60fps option, this one seems nailed on.
According to Leadbetter, if GTA 6 runs at 30fps on PS5, it'll run at 30fps on PS5 Pro barring some kind of programming miracle, because the CPU handles simulation, and the PS5 Pro’s CPU only increases performance by 10%. In the unlikely event GTA 6 has a 60fps mode on PS5, it’ll run at 60fps on PS5 Pro.
While the PS5 Pro’s CPU looks like a modest improvement, the PS5 Pro is much better than the PS5 at rendering, according to Digital Foundry. PS5 Pro, Digital Foundry predicts, is capable of upscaling 1080p older PS5 games to 4K via its upscaling/antialiasing solution PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling), if the developer chooses to support the tech with a patch.
Digital Foundry says PS5 Pro will retain the same 16GB of GDDR6 memory as the standard PS5, but has an extra 1.2GB of system RAM for developers.

Why spend all that money because we all know this console will come at a hefty premium. Sony have Ripped off all PS5 owners with majority of games re-released ps4 games. They released the VR2 how many new games have been released to support that ?

What do you mean it doesn't push it to its limit. So we're getting 4K60 out of all the games are we? No. Mostly 1800p30. Huh, almost like it has no more to give, weird.
Games are taking more time to make, and to properly optimise. Do you want games that are polished at launch with lots of content? Like with what PlayStation Studios provide? Or a broken unoptimised mess at launch like with Redfall by Bethesda Game Studios, an Xbox studio, or like with what CD Projekt Red did with Cyberpunk 2077? I'd definitely pick the first option. So grow up and deal with it. Genuinely polished games are the way to go, not always just about the fucking graphics and frame rate.
I still have a ps4 slim. Was super pumped to buy a ps5 pro hopefully around December but man all the recent news make me want to wait for the ps6 😭
Yeah bro I was planning the same thing. My slim is 7 years old and runs really well still and I could just keep playing games I didn’t get to last gen but I do want to upgrade. Now maybe I will wait for ps6 lol

GTA V has 60fps mode on new gen. The cpu is not going to be a bottleneck in lower framrates like 60fps, especially if you consider that games are heavily optimized to run on multiple cores on consoles. At these lower framerates, everything is gpu bound. Take a look at the latest 120fps patch in apex legends, for example.
They just trying to make money cause the regular PS5 is still ok & what function better with it is the type of TV u have and ur Internet Connection, which makes a huge difference.

@@bjornironsides6474 understandable but the wallpapers from ps3 era wasn’t bloat. And it gave a small satisfaction and style to the console . It was pretty cool . And hovering over an app to see a theme for a couple of sec is not the same
@@CallAKilla4 I can understand that. I'm just more concerned with them putting in time to make games and hardware great rather than spending time on that. Simple UI convenience, quick game access and nice store front, and spend the rest of the time making VRR and such features perfection.
I’m not really buying the CPU clock speed rumors. If they’re under the assumption the PlayStation still works the way it did a few generations ago, maybe I would, but it’s the same architecture PCs use now and modern game engines do not depend on specific clock speeds. Especially now that our CPUs have a high variability in clock while they’re running.

I think DVD's might work, but some games use a CD type, which could be problematic.
And The only way they could make it work, is to allow you to download a digital version off the store, just like Microsoft did with their Xbox.
@DeadPhoenix86DP the ps3 has 3 different console models that support ps2 discs, 2 of those models have the ps2 Emotion Engine in it, and the 3rd one uses emulation to play ps2 disc games.
Sony can do the same thing with the ps5, they could add ps2 emulation in the ps5 that supports your ps2 disc games, but sony just don't give a shit lol

The point is, that those consoles are becoming rarer and rarer, and they're becoming more expensive as well. And a lot of people nowadays want to play og games but they don't have the money to buy a ps3 or ps2
@@henshi9474 I agree with you that implementing it in new consoles would be best, but old ones aren't rare. My local shop has a ton of ps1, ps2, and ps3 consoles and so does ebay. They're only rare if you shop at gamestop only. If you can afford to buy more ps2 and 3 games, you can afford a ps2 or ps3.

The only thing holding me back from upgrading from PS5 to Pro is Dolby Vision. It’s my only 4KBR player and my tv can work Dolby Vision so why can it not work on the upgraded model?

Themes need to be fully across the board, not just the Explore tab. With that being said, this is at least a start and we don’t have any more stagnation with news on themes. Patience is a virtue, that’s all we got to have at this point and see the silver lining in this. I’m sure once they have the kinks worked out and this update comes around on it then they’ll extend it all the way. One step at a time though, at least the signs are finally there now.
I will happily compromise on graphics for getting my 60 fps. I don’t care about 90, 120 or any more fps but I do want my stable 60.

So, why not put in a more powerful CPU?
The one thing holding me back from getting Helldivers 2 is you need to play with a group, sure playing solo is there but you're at a disadvantage and the game is a bit harder soloing it.
The only reason that I will never get Helldivers 2 is because it's internet dependent. Looks like a great game though.

Im confused. If the ps5 pro is getting a 10% cpu boost, that means it will match the series x at 3.8GHs. Which also means any hope of gta 6 running at 60+fps is gone because 1080p gaming is 100% cpu. To raise the fps, you lower the resolution. A game that size would likely be in 1080p at 60 or 120fps. A 3.8GHs wont do it. And even with dlss like software, thats useless when playing in cpu bound performance mode. And even if the gpu power is 20+ teraflops, it will bottleneck like crazy with a cpu at 3.8GHs when playing in a lower res.. Im believing this ps5 pro less and less. None of the specs make sense. That thing is gonna have to be equal to a 3070ti pc build with an 8 core cpu to even hit 1440p at 120fps. The price kind of defeats the purpose of console. I dont see how sony can make it affordable with those specs. They would have to take a 100% loss on the console, possibly more to keep it in console price range.. People would just build a pc at that point i assume especially considering they port most of the games over now. I can see it failing as fast as the psvr2..
If my buddy hadn’t sold me his PS5 for 100$ I wouldn’t have one with that said I am finding fun games exclusives on the system but if a game is multi platform it being bought on my series X. I love Helldivers 2 Rules!

EXACTLY! I couldn't agree more man, I've played 1080, 2k, and 4k. I'm pretty much Always locked in at 1440p, even on the PC. It's the BEST balance between performance and visuals!
I disagree, I play at 3k (2880x1620) .......yeah it's weird but I feel it's the Best of Both worlds. High FPS 90+ and looks comparable to 4k. I also get your point consoles and PC tried to jump to 4k only hitting 30fps is a no go

I rather play my games in 1080HD at 240-360FPS in a performance mode. I could care less about 4K.
I could max out my settings in Fortnite on my PC while still getting over 100FPS. I guess I prefer fast & buttery smooth gameplay over super high resolution graphics. In Fortnite the super high resolution & physics looks amazing.. but I don’t need nanite enabled, high quality shaders & textures, all this extra on screen fx & physics animations. I prefer the minimal performance mode of the game, it takes away all the long grass, shadows, nanite lighting & high textures, all the extra fx are off.
It’s night & day playing on performance mode vs the default high fidelity settings. The game runs so much better, movement feels immensely more fluid, aim is smoother, input & on screen actions fell more crisp & instantaneous, less on screen visual distractions or hinderance from the world around you.
I don’t play really any RPG or Single player games. I could understand wanting a more realistic experience with those. Even if I did play them I’d most likely still run lower fidelity more performance oriented settings

Lmao the gpu in the ps5 pro is no where near 4080 level. Its close to 4070 but much weaker because it cant use anywhere near the power output of an actual desktop gpu. The 4070 can push like 300 watts. The whole ps5 doesnt even push that much power. So yeah you dont actually know what you are talking here.

Im sobsick of consoles ik they are making gaming available for a much bigger audience but every game is always just dragged down by the hardware of consoles since almost every game has to be on console not a single develepor pushes the limits of gaming which has slowed gaming down alot
If you like paying a ton of money to not own anything then just buy digital/pc. But I like to own what I pay for. And I'm not a fan of PC gaming because personally, it feels like I'm typing on a typewriter from the 50s. The Dualsense controller brings gaming to a completely new level. I will never give that up. Plus the PS exclusives are prime.

Sounds to me like your just going with whatever they tell you and that they r just using a lot of jargon as excuses to not make the ps5 pro really any more backwards compatible and as an excuse to not make it any more powerful just powerful enough so that ppl want to buy it but not so powerful or with like 120 fps because then they won’t have anything to sell u in the future with the ps6 they make game consoles and games these days just powerful enough to keep ppl buying them and not to powerful so that they have some “improvements “ to put into the next console. And they do the same thing with games they say oh we could only make it a consistent 30fps but then a few years down the road after everyone who wanted to buy the game have bout it they “come up” with a patch that all of a sudden makes the game be able to play at a consistent 60 fps

Here is how you fix issue announce the system. Listen to your audience and fix what was leaked so the leakers get discredited and wont try it again. In my case i have amd epyc cpu a ton of ram and a 3060 lol i have no real bottlenecks. I my 4070is in the mail once that comes in my rig will be slaying games for at least a decade when a next level ai epyc type cpu will be released.

not sure why everyone saying sales for ff7 down npd only reported 3 days of it release and it was able to take 2nd spot and the duel pack took 8th spot. then in japan it sold 298,635 copies which is more then mario vs donkey kong 124,441 which was January top seller. Give final fantasy it roses it doing fine.
Ff7 remake and rebirth are nothing more than boring cash grabs hence why rebirth isn’t selling nearly as well as remake did because people realized the game sucks

This generation of gaming is giving me anxiety.. sony is about to delay games slated to release on ps5pro all because of some leaks.. the devs need the hardware in order for it to have games that push the hardware Dummy! We shouldnt have to wait 3-4years after the release of hardware to enjoy why we bought the hardware. Almost every game out right now could have ran on ps4 and ps4 pro just maybe with more loading times and less resolution.

I've seen the potential specs of the PS5 Pro and its Not going to be worth getting..
CPU the exact same with a quote unquote optional boost thats maybe 10% witch will nothing in real world application.
They can Upgrade the GPU to a 4090 an it would make No real world difference with the Same CPU and Power supply Limitations.. So a GPU upgrade means almost 0 an will do little to 0..
The only good thing about the PS5 "Pro" is the AI upscaling(We know Nothing about) and the 1GB Dedicated Ram(13GBs up from 12GBs) Update.. Thats it... Thats it..
