I hope someone steps on his neck for lying like he is about that car. it was here at my shop over 10 years ago for an estimate and when it was brought here on a roll back the floor pan was full of water. It was a girl I believe by the name of Terry that brought it here on behalf of her father and boyfriend. The thing is all cancered out including the bed. I guess this dude has no shame scamming ppl... Just look at those rear wheel arches a body shop can't fix that without new panels or in this case the bed is also all rotted out underneath and if there is no water in the floors now that means the floors R gone too now. The melted potting under the Duraspark box may have been remnants of a failed earlier one - it’s REALLY hard to clean that crap up (the box overheats, the potting melts, and then solidifies on the body after it cools back off). The box that is installed is probably at least the second one. I have a 77 Continental with the same spillage underneath the box it had in it when I bought the car. If you pop it off, I’m pretty sure you’ll find the potting underneath is still there and in good shape. But it never hurts to keep a replacement in the glovebox… they aren’t that expensive, and are identified by the color of the strain relief plastic (or “grommet”) where the wires go into the box. That one is probably a blue grommet duraspark I would guess, that was the most common outside of California.

I like your video the most. You start engines that don't seem likely. You are very skilled in your work and work very hard. And the funny thing is that you do everything alone, sometimes your wife gets involved in work.
I used the same type of tire machine at the service station I worked at in high school. I just held my hand on the pry bar and if it started to creep up then I would let off the pedal and readjust. Sometimes I’d use a separate pry bar or I would just lean on the pry bar of the machine and help push it through the tough spot. I never had it pop so hard that it hit me when I put my weight into it. I was like 165 lbs at that time.
Used a similar style in the 90s when I was 16. Can't recall ever having an issue with the bar popping off unless I was in too much of a hurry and didn't get it seated all the way down. If it did pop, its not like your face is ever really anywhere close. He actually probably made it much more likely to get hit by bending down hiding behind the tire. I was 100% more likely to hit myself in the face spinning the bar on my palm to reverse the ends so I could smack the wheel retaining nut off

Same here I used one a thousand times and agree you described what happens perfect my friend
I was 100% more likely to hit myself in the face spinning the bar on my palm to reverse the ends so I could smack the wheel retaining nut off
Stumbled on your channel and got to say, love it!
I'm an old school mechanic myself, cut my teeth on Ignition Points
Carbs and drum breaks.
And I love the Ranchero. 👊
I'm a little perplexed that you would actually put old fuel in when you already had it all out. Why invite extra troubles??
Amazing. Haven't seen one of these since I was on grade school 30 years ago. Love the color. So 70's. 😊
An octane additive may have saved that old gas. Nice find , can't wait to see whats next for the old GT
As long as you remember that you need 10 "points" to add one octane number.
Put up a movable chicken fence that gives the chickens a little bit of space but also keeps fido out of the drop zone.
Great revival, what a sweet old classic. You make it look easy.
Great editing too, you keep it rolling and interesting. Tower shot was a little freaky, whoa...😯
Be safe man, we want to see more of your content!
Hi I just bought a 1977 ranchero watching all videos and getting all information I can before I start working on It thank you for the video
Great video Chris, love the channel. Nice to see an all original vehicle, and it would be nice to see Dalton fix her up for Power tour…she needs a full restore, you don’t see many of them out there.
I had a '76 Torino 351M. I changed the timing gears/chain to a '70s pre-emission set. I also changed the vacuum advance to port vacuum on the carb instead of the horrible manifold vacuum set-up. Better HP and MPG.
Chris I subbed to your channel a few months ago and I love your videos. You are getting to do the stuff I wish I had the space to do at my house! Plus you seem like a guy I could totally be friends with, just a cool dude. I know you work hard for all of these videos and it shows. Major props and keep it up bud!
Friend,
When I watch your videos, always love your content. And, I enjoy seeing your dog so much. I had a dog, and because of personal reasons, I left him with my parents. But I learned later that he went into the woods, and never returned.
So, thank you for your videos, and sharing your family and your dog with us.
Thanks so much for tuning into the videos and yes Gus is very much a joy. So sorry to hear about your dog running away into the woods.
Always love seeing the before and after with the pressure washer, entertaining video as usual! (Could use less of Gus eating the chicken poop though!)
A great find of a model not appreciated in the past. Have fun and thanks for your efforts. Onward!
Please.... no man bun
I always keep a finishing nail that fits nicely into a flared brake line. Blocks it off nicely in a pinch. Love the content, knowledgeable and honest.
LOVE will it run videos, hard to explain. Nice to see vehicles sitting get a second life even if its only for awhile.
Was never a Ranchero fan… but this one is deff sweet!!! I like!
You know what’s funny is the drain video is the first i ever saw by you, i didnt even realize that was you until maybe a year later and watching more of your videos. Then i put the 2 together lol.
As a guy who restores old cars in the midwest rust belt, Chris, you are an eternal optimist when it comes to rust...... This is a fun one. Thanks for the video!
Holy smokes. Heck yeah. You showed me a few more tricks with working by myself. Thanks brother. I learn something new every time I watch. Keep up the great work
I love the chevy c30 tow truck and the plymouth Savoy and the chevelle
Being an owner of two rancheros (74 and 79) I really enjoyed watching you save this beast! Great job!
I love seeing a video made near to me. When you said "Royersford Pennsylvania" , I had a big smile. I grew up in Pottstown. I've always loved the Rancheros but never got one.
U n Jen always smack ur head on that awning
I’ve seen some stuck drums, but this one takes a cake.. always loved the rancheros and the El Caminos. You’ve got a gem here.
My very first car was a 1977 Ranchero that was nicknamed "double ugly". What a great video. Brought back so many good memories.
As a lifelong mechanic I can see you love what your doing just by the fact you don't throw away anything useful when it comes to vehicles
Hey get some tailings delivered from the asphalt crews. A couple of my friends in Roxborough have done their driveways with the stuff that they don’t recycle. Was back home last week and had a cheesesteak from D’Alessandros. Yes that’s true about that machine, always have your valve stem at six o’clock and keep light hand pressure on the bar. The only tool in a mechanic or machine shop that I can’t run is, quite frankly I forgot!!! Lol!! Great Videos Chris Thank You 🙏!!!
Man I wish I had that tire machine. I broke down and remounted 8 tires yesterday with a handy man jack, 2 one way lug wrenches and a shop hammer. I worked my butt off
I’m more of a Chevy guy, I have an 1985 elcamino that I drive. I luv the old vehicles better than the new ones. But that color of the ranchero is awesome. I love the color of the interior too. Nice to see someone appreciate the old ones too. Nice job. 👍
Had this exact vehicle in silver, brand new, back in the day. Blew up the motor racing a friend bar to bar....
