I don't feel so bad now. I have watched guys free injectors on diesels by tapping on them and thought it might work, until he showed valve was bent. Managed to convince my mother to let behind the wheel one day and I scratched the fugg out of all the chrome down one side. Dang it! Awsome channel Chris your a legend!

It was a beautiful and powerful car although materials quality wise it was a step down from my parent's '67 Cadillac. I was luckly enough to get plenty of wheel time on the '71 after I got my license and before I headed off to college two years later.

The only thing I would recommend when towing with the sling is to lock the pins on the arms, you want them open when you are hooking up but locked while towing. Also, keep a 4x4 on the truck as well...some cars the bumper is not strong enough to hold the weight and you can put the 4x4 on top of the chains to hit on the frame if it reaches (mainly when towing from the front) and can stop from smashing the radiator support. I also carried a couple pool noodles to put over the chains when they were rubbing on something like the gas tank. Otherwise looked pretty good.
The Caddy sounded great when the new owner drove off, great work! Also I always chuckle when you do your driving footage and drone footage as I recognize most of it as I have lived about 10 minuites from where you got the Caddy most of my life. Keep up the good work.
That was a really good episode. I love seeing an old vehicle go from rotting away someplace to finding somebody who really cares about it and puts it back on the road.
@NoNonsenseKnowHow It would be great for you to slow down a little and explain your fixes a bit better. I have picked up some things from you already but want to learn more. I had a 76 Eldorado, nice comfortable ride bu poor fuel economy. I would keep the caddy over a Torino. For its age that caddy is super clean.
You would have loved Surplus Tools and Commodities in Denver. Imagine if that tool section was the size of the entire plumbing supply house, with some stock predating WWII. The hand lettered pegboard and parts hanging from the ceiling specifically have the same feel. Many people my parents age had been going there since they were kids. They closed in 2022. It's sad to see these places go.
Nice to see a "back East" car that isn't rusted beyond repair. As a West Coaster, I watch alot of your & others(i.e. Vice Grips, etc) videos, and that aspect is always a bit sad :(

Chris over in Lumberton, NJ - basically rt. 38 and 206 next the the DMV there's an old home improvement store that looks just like that plumbing supply house. It's called Diamond M Lumber.. as soon as the video started it made me think of that place. It's like a Home Depot but from 1968. It's like walking into a time capsule there, they have EVERYTHING for all the old houses here from the early 1900s, all the old electrical stuff, full sized boards, the old ceiling tiles for drop ceilings, he's got all the stuff from back in the day. He's got newer products too, it is a supply house, but man I love going there for stuff you can get at the big box stores.. he's got EVERYTHING..
That was a brilliant fix on the bent valve; I just wonder how it got bent in the first place. I guess the most likely scenario is the valve was stuck open and got kissed by the piston. Great video! Thanks for your hard work making, editing and posting these videos. We all really appreciate it!

I'm only two minutes in and I had to pause to comment. A hood ornament is top priority on this car...not only does it look naked, but it serves as sort of a lighthouse so you know where that freaking hood ends.
My dad's best friend who was a Vietnam vet had a new 1973 Coupe Deville just like that - same colors. He let my mom drive it with me in tow to a local country store. I loved it, I thought we were millionaires.
I really like how you work on all kinds of stuff. Bikes, boat, truck, heavy machinery, cars etc. the next reason I enjoy your content is your not just fixing things your showing how to fix it and what could be causing it. I’ve learnt a lot from your content so thank you.
Hello Chris and Jen , awesome video! The Caddy looked and sounded awesome when you got done with it Chris. I liked how you was able to straighten that Valve! I am glad that you was able to do a quick turn around on the car and really happy to that it went to somebody that knew the previous owner and will take good care of it. I love the old store , soon most everything like that will be gone. Thanks for taking us along Chris and thumbs UP! 👍
Man what a goldmine. I’d buy that old plumbing supply store in a heartbeat. It brings back a lot of great memories when things were simpler and better. Beautiful old school America. The very best of the best.
The bent valve fix without removing the head was a stroke of genius

Cool. Thank you for the info!
There are some “quick pins” you can install in the boom, to lift cars by the steel bumper, not sure if your sling has the provisions for them.
Correct

I really like how you work on all kinds of stuff. Bikes, boat, truck, heavy machinery, cars etc. the next reason I enjoy your content is your not just fixing things your showing how to fix it and what could be causing it. I’ve learnt a lot from your content so thank you.
HEY!!! ITS MY DADS ‘71!!!
I live in Mass in an old 3 story house. I have those exact Base Ray baseboard heaters. Still work like a charm. Love the videos! Hi Jen & Gusman!
I can't wait to watch this one. I had 2 1973 oldmobiles. One was a delta 88 and the other was a 98. The delta was that same color.
You're a darn genius brother I mean without having to rip the engine apart
Hello Chris and Jen , awesome video! The Caddy looked and sounded awesome when you got done with it Chris. I liked how you was able to straighten that Valve! I am glad that you was able to do a quick turn around on the car and really happy to that it went to somebody that knew the previous owner and will take good care of it. I love the old store , soon most everything like that will be gone. Thanks for taking us along Chris and thumbs UP! 👍
The amount of respect I have for this dude to always keep searching for a solution is unwavering. Love this channel!
This has to be one of your best videos.
Genius valve straightening and Merle Haggard playing in the background - no way it gets better than that!! Great Job Chris!
That caps drawer is absolutely Magical! 😮❤😊
It's my favorite drawer. Solves more problems than you would believe
It's really great seeing the old iron come back to life! It back on the road making people smile!
When your caddy sounds like a top fuel dragster, it's been sitting a while :)
Man what a goldmine. I’d buy that old plumbing supply store in a heartbeat. It brings back a lot of great memories when things were simpler and better. Beautiful old school America. The very best of the best.
3 vehicles? Woop, woop!!! That can only mean more content on its way to us soon 🥳🎉
No videos are already out this is the last of the 3
That was the most genius and satisfying no nonsense fix on that 472!!! Great work!!
