Love watching your laptop reviews, even though I'm not actually in the market for a new laptop.
I got one about a week ago and so far it's been great. Pretty good battery life, very good performance, I love the keyboard (it's no Thinkpad keyboard, but still love it for long typing sessions), great price, etc, etc. I would like to also note that you mentioned that the pen is optional. It may be different in Canada, but for those buying in the US it ships with the pen, which is a nice little bonus. Also to note, the $599 version on Amazon shipped with 16GB of RAM.

Im writing this on my Flex 14. I cannot fault it in any way considering the price.
- The keyboard is the best ive ever used
- The battery is stellar
- I always use it in Battery Saving Mode, even while playing light games - ive yet to hear the fan, and the laptop is cool.
- It flies through every task
- 8gb ram seems sufficient
The screen is on the dim side, but its way less of an issue than i thought it would be.
10/10 best laptop ive owned

I got a 16gb configuration for 599 and it runs amazing! I'm not doing anything crazy but I got it for note taking and its great plus it has some gaming capacity. Perfect for college students albeit outside of artistic fields. 👍👍

Besides from the display I think is great, at Amazon is the 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB for 599, and now is one of the best sellers, so stock goes out pretty fast

I have last year's version with the Ryzen 7 3700 and it ain't no slouch either. Thermals on this thing are glorious, I wonder if the 2020 version needs a bios update. If the brightness is too low even if you crank it all the way up remember you can boost it in the AMD Radeon settings app. Thx for the tip on Alt + Q I hadn't discovered it using Vantage yet.

I have the last gen one. The only things I want more out of it are: USB c charging, larger battery, and front facing speakers.

I want to buy this for a high school student I'm sponsoring so I'd appreciate a bit of advice: would an upgrade of this lenovo flexpad 5 with ryzen 7 4700U with 8GB & 512 GB SSD configuration ( only one currently available in the store) be a worthwhile buy for around $ 900? Or is the extra cost not worth the boost in performance , in your view?

Have you tried the new 2020 version of the acer spin 5 sounds really good especially for artists and madia. Wacom had something to do with the qhd screen software and included pen that stores and recharges in it. Thanks

Hey Matt! You gotta review the Lenovo Ideadpad s540. I am not sure if it's available in Canada and US, but it's one of the best sellers in India. It has most of features of a premium ultrabook (all metal build, 10th gen processors, gtx 1650, etc..) but starts at a much lower price. But it's hard to find a good review for it in YT. If you can get your hands on one please make a video of it.

There is a version of this laptop on amazon for 600 us that has 16gb of ram and comes with the stylus.

I got the flex 14 from the 2018 model and the ram in not soldered. So i can upgrade. Only thing is, its 1 dimm slot so i’d need 1 16gb stick if i wanted to upgrade. But its an amazing machine as is. I fully recommend

I'm not an expert but probably like a Lenovo IdeaPad L340 with an i7, and a GTX 1650
I bought a Lenovo flex from walmart and my only complaint is the lack of space. 128gb is fine if you use the laptop solely for school but terrible if you want a couple of games on there. I had to go and buy a new ssd in order to play all my games but I really love this laptop. Its lighter and far better than my previous one
My touchscreen didn't work after a month. What's the point of a 2 in 1 laptop without toichscreen? Lol

Wow, those result on adobe product are low considering the cpu that used, is it possible that the low benchmark result is because a bug or something ? Because the ryzen 4000 series on laptop is considered to be a new cpu, maybe a patch update could fix that?
Like he said the problem lies with Adobe, especially Premiere is currently incapable of taking advantage of amd's newer tech. Lame, Adobe.... hopefully they will update their software to address this

I'm not a gamer, I mainly download torrents, watch movies, UA-cam and everyday computing. I would like something that can be still powerful 5 years from now. I'm willing to spend up to $2,000 - $2,500 us dollars and 15" - 17" screen. What would you recommend. Thanks buddy.

4 years probably not, but if you get a 2 year warranty and swap it out at around 11 months they'll be set. 👍👍

@@Tugennov Better build quality would mean something like the ThinkPad, you may not need to look further than this or an ultraslim, in order to get the most out of your purchase. A plastic product is normal for this price range, andshouldn;t be a deterant if your main concern is quality
Is it worth putting tempered glass over the touchscreen? Would the pen still work?
I really wish Lenovo hasn't done the classic Ideapad/Yoga move and cheaped-out where ever possible!
