Chelsea Smile FX Makeup Tutorial

- A new makeup tutorial for my FX wounds series. I chose to create this look using spirit gum and scar wax because I believe it is probably readily available and fairly cheap to all of you! The Chelsea Smile or Glasgow Smile comes from a form of torture that was done by gangs in Scotland. Use this for straight gore or for the base of Heath Ledger's infamous Joker look.

This was really helpful, it looks amazing (:
+novajoxo Thanks, glad it helped!
Hey, this turned out great, but could I suggest using rigid collodion? I think it would look really cool if you outline it in rigid collodion to make it look partially healed
Wow thanks for the simple tutorial I will be using this for my cosplay competition 😉😂
GreySnow No problem Grey. Good luck @ the cosplay competition!
Oh yeah!
Can i open my mouth or laugh with ths??
Marek Gajdusek yes, but be careful with opening your mouth to wide, especially if you do a lot along your laugh lines
hi, what happens when you open your mouth?
I don't mean to be rude but it kind of looks stupid in a good way I recommend doing it bigger :P
DITY DOO I agree
DITY DOO I disagree, I think the fact it's smaller makes it look really unsettling and realistic, less like the joker and more like the old torture methods he was speaking about.

+alycia zapata Good suggestion, I ended up using rigid collodion for my Joker Makeup Tutorial. Thought it would helpful to have two variations of the scarring method.
