    Awesome. I cosplayed the Joker for my Drama Joker Monologue final and I didn't know this scarring stuff existed back when The Dark Knight first came out. I knew most people were using scar tissue make up effect, but this is a lot easier if I can just simply apply it and it does it by itself.

    the rigid collodian is only good if you are not going to be acting his parts or is it going to handle the movements of my mouth and face if not then should I use liquid latex and also I what make up do I use to be able to sweat move and just act like heath for a Halloween party or cosplay?

    • @willusionist
      @willusionist  7 років тому

      Water activated makeup is best. I reccomend mehron paradise paints. If you set with a barrier such as Ben Nye final seal the makeup will last all night. Rigid collodion can come away from the skin of you use big expressions and contort the face. If you are worried about it I reccomend using silicone or gelatin applied with prosthetic adhesive. I would not reccomend latex as it's cheap and the results you get will not appear very professional.

    Hey man! Quick question: I'm doing a generic killer clown look, and using snazaroo. So, can I layer? Or do I have to put on the colour first, and paint white around? (It's kind of a complicated design)
    Thanks!

    Is it alright to make the red messy? Like how it is in the movie, as in is it okay for red to be all over the scars? Jw 😄

    • @willusionist
      @willusionist  8 років тому

      You can simply peel the dry liquid off your face. Just be sure to do it slowly and carefully.

    Awesome tutorial! Will be using this at my next Con! How long does the scarring liquid last and how do you wash it off when you're ready?

    • @willusionist
      @willusionist  8 років тому +1

      +@Radioactive_Rj Thanks. The rigid collodion should last all day, but it can peel away from the skin if you make any dramatic facial expressions. (scrunching your face, sneezing, big smile etc.) To remove I just peel it off very carefully. Remember to avoid getting it on the actual lips or near the eyes.

    Does Rigid Collodion Scarring Liquid hurt when it tightens ?

    • @willusionist
      @willusionist  8 років тому

      It shouldn't hurt, but it will feel funny as it tightens. Testing an area of skin beforehand is a good idea. Also, do NOT apply to sensative areas like the lips and eye area.

    Does this paint crack after it dries? I don't want to work hard on it then have it fall off when I sweat or touch my face.

    • @willusionist
      @willusionist  8 років тому +1

      +Liam Morales If you are worried about sweating and touching your face I would suggest using a creme makeup then covering with translucent setting powder. The face paint I used in this tutorial can dry up and crack under high stress situations, but it doesn't "fall off".

    how long does the scaring liquid last? and any tips on what not to do while putting on the make up to not ruin the scars?

    • @willusionist
      @willusionist  7 років тому

      Tips: Do not apply scarring liquid directly to the lips. Prep skin with alcohol wipe before applying scarring liquid. Apply scarring liquid in thin layers giving about 5 mins to dry per layer. Makeup should not effect scarring liquid. Try to avoid stretching lips and using big expressions - This can separate the scarring liquid from the skin.

      and how do I remove the scaring liquid the fastest?

    • @jaydintune6080
      @jaydintune6080 7 років тому

      the liquid lasts several hours without peeling if you don't use big expressions and the deeper you want the scar the more layers you apply

    This is a pretty cool tutorial but please please PLEASE be careful with the rigid collodion on your actual lips. I was cringing so hard when it was on your bottom lip because the skin there is naturally more sensitive and ages the fastest. But fabulous video!

  • @leonardcoyle2480
    @leonardcoyle2480 8 років тому +1

    what would u recommend doing to add more depth to the scar?

    • @willusionist
      @willusionist  8 років тому +1

      +Leonard Coyle 1. Make the depression darker with a makeup shadow (make the skin surface lighter to exaggerate this) 2. Add more layers of scarring liquid (wait to dry between coats) 3. Add a shadow along the edge of the scar and blend out into the face (this makes the scar appear raised, not sunken in) Choose any of these options.

    • @leonardcoyle2480
      @leonardcoyle2480 8 років тому

      So the more layers you add the thicker it looks right?

    • @willusionist
      @willusionist  8 років тому +1

      Not necessarily thicker. The more layers added the more it tightens the skin and appears sunken in. It will be as wide as you brush it on.

      You can always raise the edges with a silicon product like 3rd degree, and maybe you could
      Use some nose and scar wax and blend the edges well

      +smearsmell How long would you say it takes for Rigid Collodion to naturally dry?

    • @willusionist
      @willusionist  8 років тому +1

      It dries super fast. A thin layer can dry in about a minute. Thicker application may take closer to 5 mins.

    • @Nutronic
      @Nutronic 8 років тому

      +smearsmell Ok awesome. As you can see in my pic I have the Snazaroo stuff already, the costume is Joker from the Arkham games but I recently purchased the Heath ledger joker clothing and also some of the rigid collodion. Batman will be attending my sons party in July and he owns his own company around where I live. So I need it to look good so will probs go with a deep scar like on your video.

    • @willusionist
      @willusionist  8 років тому

      Ah, sounds like it will be a good time for your son. Don't be afraid to build up the collodion. More will add depth to the scar and tighten the skin. Also, don't apply to the lips as it can damage the sensitive tissue.

      +grover township The makeup changes throughout the movie. It's not messy the entire time. The beauty of starting it off this way is that it can be modified to fit any scene of the movie.
