I like Indonesians. I see great similarities in our culture especially as a Filipino and an Ilocano.
south east asians got a lotta similiarities even in language
java : asu
acehnese : ase
philiphine : aso

the philiphine in the past was part of indonesia like malaysia and singapore.. so there are similarities
Same anchestor...
I like that the Filipinos are taught from a very young age that our ancestors are the Aeta, Malay and Indonesians. So, Indonesians are technically our brothers. But the Philippine Islands were not a part of Indonesia as far as I know. Indonesians are one of our (Filipinos) ancestors and they came in here through the Balangays (Wooden Boats). Barangay (Village) is based on the word Balangay. Please enlighten me if I'm mistaken.
@@Loid.Forger.SXF24 i only know that we are austronesians, thats why there is language similarities, the numbers in phillipino or ilocano lang similar to javanese...and think at one point majapahit empire expanded to philliphines. yeah, islam just ruined the old ancient indonesian traditions
Just want to share that "Baduy" is a word used by Filipinos to describe people who "dress out of style". Not sure if it was a jargon borrowed from that tribe or what but yeah. Nice video! ❤️

I LOVE stink beans! I ate so many of those when I visited Southeast Asia, they are perfect with ‘Sambal’, white rice and any sort of grilled/fried protein (tofu, chicken, beef, fish etc). They are fresh and crunchy eaten raw. They kinda taste like asparagus to me, my favorite vege. The problem with stink beans is they make your breath stink (really hard to brush off the stink, you need to also gargle with mouth wash), and your pee and poo will smell like literal hell.
Drinking coffee is the key!
Eat some mint candy after eat Stinky beans
Coffee or mint will make the smell disapear
Eat vitamin B complex

I really love their honey. it's pure, raw honey, no added artificial or something. When I was in college at IPB, one or two baduy come and sell their honey. they only bring 2-4 bottles. because that was they only got from the harvest. What a coincidence, I just came back from the Inner Kanekes (Baduy is considered an exonym) last week. The food that you had was totally different with what we had as many of the ingredients for your food are forbidden to plant for those in the Inner villages. My host never mentioned about squirrels, but he did tell us about deers and boars.
About your question on why can’t those on the Outer Kanekes just leave altogether and join the rest of the world, it might be more complicated than that. I asked the same question during my stay, and according to my host leaving their community would mean severing their ties with the people, which is why no one has ever done that (at least according to him). Two of his siblings decided to leave the Inner Kanekes to Outer Kanekes but they still visit each other. This would be impossible if they decided to abandon their community.
2nd this. Not only an exonym but an exonym from a far away tribes in the middle east (Bedoin/Badawi). Just like the Spanish named the whole muslim Mindanao with Moro from Moors.
@@wenderis yeah, which is sad because they’re so much more than just a shadow of some tribe halfway around the world. Although I don’t think they bother with these things themselves, but we should give them the respect they deserve.
I think, even like pete, jengkol, eggplant, cassava and papaya aren't allowed to plant there?
@@kilanspeaks Liar, liar pants on fire. Wash your mouth out with soap & dunk your head in a bucket of ice water. If you actually came from a Dalam village you'd use the proper terms liar liar. Kanekes is a basic exonym for village don't you know anything liar liar? Stop pretending to be special liar liar because people who know reality and facts will always refer to you as a liar.
@@kevincupy as far as I know they do plant stink beans, dog fruit, eggplant, and papaya, but I think for their own consumption? I can’t remember for sure. As for cassava, if I’m not mistaken there’s a certain loophole but I don’t really get it tbh.

Another great piece from BEFRS, as someone who was born and raised in Jakarta, I've heard plenty of stories about the Suku Badui. These people live basically next door to the capital but we know almost nothing about them as they're very secluded and secretive, fun fact is some of the stories I received from those who traveled to the Badui Land were a bit mythical and transcendental which created a sort of eerie and spooky stigma about the tribe. It's refreshing to finally be able to see them in a more humane and somewhat normal way.
Thanks Sonny for adding more stories about my country !
They're still sundanese not another tribe. For the most part they even considered as OG sunda people who still practice sundanese anchestor way of life. Other are people of Kampung Naga and Sunda Wiwitan/Buhun comunity.
