Life seemed so Simple back then...I mean he surprised her with a Mobile Home & she completely loved it! What I wouldn’t do to have lived back in that era as an adult.
This brings back so many memories. I was 13 years old life was very simple in the 80's. I miss my mother so much since she passed in 2015. This song was one of her favorites.
I wasn't born yet when my parents got married, but this reminds me of them so much. And all I have are the pictures and stories to go off of. They divorced when I was 3, but never said an ill word to me about the other. They continued to love and respect each other. My dad passed in 2006 and my mom mourns his passing every day. My point is, we can learn a lot from this era of living. Simple can be good, even great...just enjoy every day
That sums up nicely how life was. There were plenty of limitations and negative aspects, but overall, people could be happy with less. Some of my best childhood memories were such simple things, compared to people today.
Being from south texas you have to watch this movie in school. Crazy but there are ppl that still live and act like this today. Lmao one of my favorite movies.
Cissy was like a sweet little puppy. She was so unguarded and joyful and jumped into everything with abandon. The audience still roots for her even when she does stupid things like hooking up with Wes. Debra Winger played her to perfection.
My boyfriend Aldon Calabaza and I love this movie.... When we are out dancing and this song or any other song from Urban Cowboy is played we call each other Bud and Sissy 😊 and Bud and Sissy first dance scene and the song is perfect!... Perfect for us as well because we both love to dance ❤️ I love you Aldon Calabaza 😘 I'll be your partner for the rest of our life ❤️
What an iconic piece of Americana this clip is. I was raised not too far from Houston, Tx. My ex hubs and I had that same MH back in the day except it was the 2 bedroom model and I loved it! We had it on an acre of rural land. I wonder if this is why I love this film so much. Wish I still had it for my she shed. One room would be my Bud and Sissy room. Maybe. Ha ha😊
He wasn't as bad as he could have been but I wonder what this movie would have been like with Jeff Bridges as Bud and Sissy Spacek as, uh, Sissy. They were the directors original choice I believe.
......Fine ! Furget it !! ....... After proposing to my wife in Las Vegas , My wife and I played this song at our wedding in Las Vegas . We have been married 10 plus years . Our anniversary is 4-20 . We are going back to Vegas this month with our kids . I am going to Re -propose to her there while having the kids play this Beautiful song . Wish me luck !! p.s.See baby , I am romantic and plan things in advance even during Con-video 37 .......How do ya like that new Rock ?? Loved you FIRST and MOSTest ....Now ....WHATS my name , Dirty Ernie ?? Ps.s..ssst --------Eric, Audrey , Alysha ......I love each one of you with all of my heart and soul . You 3 are my absolute World. I am so happy we could share this moment together while Tearing it up in ......VEGAS BABY!!! ....Now ........Group HUG !!!!!!
This is the only scene in the movie that was filmed in California. If you look closely, you can see hills in the background. That sure is not true in Houston.
Omg this ^ made me laugh so hard!! :-p not because that's funny it's just..... the way you worded it & its context after scrolling, scrolling & reading other comments. I'm sorry that happened to you, sincerely. This was more like something I would read on a MGTOW video heehee

I like Travolta's accent. It amuses me.
Part Southern and part New Jersey.
When they were casting the movie, many did not believe he could play the part.
He Sounds Like My Best Friend Hes From Virginia Beach but hes just like bud
@Jeremy Morris well...what can you say after he took some classes with Fred Astair himself..?! he was the best dancer in Hollywood.

Nowadays I very rarely see any of those generation Ford fullsize pickup trucks out on the roads.
I have a 1977 F250 4x4.
Why don't they make wedding dresses like this anymore? Sometimes less is more.....
Dresses like that can be found at a thrift store and very affordable too. 😅
Help me
I danced this song with my wife . Then she left me and her tattooed boyfriend broke my arm
