Elsa… what an incredibly well-written character. I most definitely do not agree with Taylor Sheridan’s politics, but I sure respect the hell out of him. Nice work, Mr. Sheridan. This sir, is your masterpiece. And it is breathtaking.
All his shows are amazing. Enjoyed this and 1923 and Yellowstone but Mayor Of Kingstown, Tulsa King and Lioness are all excellent. Excited to watch Landman.
Elsa's character didn't need to be killed off like that. The Producers wanted to prove a point that those times were hard and you never knew how long you had on this Earth. If that was the case, they could have killed off the character later after she and Sam were together for awhile.
Elsa's death was the reason to establish how the Yellowstone ranch land was chosen and settled. Elsa's storyline was perfection, and yet bittersweet with Sam.
No. That would've made it easier on us to take. And the writer wanted us to feel the loss of what could have been. And also, it's just accurate. There is no point to prove everyone knows going west was really dangerous. It's simply realistic.

It took me a while to figure out that the actor that plays Sam is the one that plays the physical therapist interested in Monica (season 5 I think) in Yellowstone. Love all the overlaps in these shows! Also I think Lightnin’ was in an episode of Yellowstone in a flashback scene to younger John Dutton. Younger Rip was riding a palomino that I would swear was Lightnin’ ❤

Where I grew up in Australia, Mick Jagger came to shoot a film where he was a bush ranger. They had two of the local horseman on set to help him. The only thing they would say qbout the lead singer of the rolling stones was that "he wasn't much chop on a horse" hahahahaha
Just found this today. I fell in love with this movie, their love, the story. Has me crying all kinds of emotions after just a few shorts about Elsa and Sam ❤
As much as I love Yellowstone, obsess about 1883 and like 1923 I cannot ever forgive the showrunners for making such a heartless and unceremonious reference to the characters of 1883 in 1923. A glimpse of a headstone and a slight comment that was easily missed is not enough to pay homage to the original 1883 family. I went from watching 1883 right into 1923 and was heartbroken. I’ve never typed so many years in one text 😂
Many years ago someone asked me where my home was - I pointed across the room towards my husband and said 'There - in the space between my husband's arms'. He was my everything - Best friend, teacher, mirror to my soul, light in my heart - and I was his When he passed away my heart was shattered - It hurt to breath But those decades we shared together were worth every moment of grief Some loves last a lifetime - Others through eternity - This mortal world is limited but the heavens are endless and eternal

One of the saddest parts about their story, SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING TO YELLOWSTONE: 1883 ENDING: ********************************************************************************************************************************* One of the saddest parts is that as far as we know and/or saw from the show he never found out what happened to Elsa. I just imagine him coming back to the spot where they promised they would reunite and waiting for her, what it must've been like to realize she wasn't coming and possibly never learning why she didn't come back.
I love the series told the story from Elsa's point of view! It was perfectly done! Also, if you haven't watched the Yellowstone series yet, it's OK! I started with 1923 (watched a few episodes & was so confused who was who and stopped watching to go backward in the timeline to 1883). After 1883, I went on and rewatched 1923. It cleared up who everyone was, the dynamics of the family, and the significance of THAT particular land!! Made me appreciate the characters and storyline so much more. 1883 was AMAZING !! I was disappointed in 1923's last episode, I really hope the next series in the Duttons timeline will jump in right where 1923 was left off!
UA-cam randomly recommend this to me, now I've watched the whole serie and im cryin in my room. Thx... (I didn't know anything about Yellowstone either now im gonna watch the whole serie)
I have watched this twice & it never gets old!! The acting takes us back to a time when things & life were like this … our ancestors of many years gone now & Americans have forgotten the struggle of their ancestors… But, phenomenal show !!
I never liked that she had died and the worst thing was that she never left any descendants born by her and the indigenous Sam. I found 1883 very sad, but also interesting to know where the Duttons came from. IMHO!
came from the African continent. When the American continent somehow connected with the African one. They came and lived for a very long time. They worshiped the Supreme God. After a long time, they forgot and began to deviate. They completely fell away and began to do things that were not pleasing to God. Sacrifices and spiritual rituals. For which the Lord gave them into the hands of those who allegedly discovered this land.

I love this part of the Yellowstone story. We must understand our history as it was the Truths of it all, to be able to stay united & strong as a country.
When she cried screaming “I love you” to Sam at the end there before having to ride away 💔😭 … I know EXACTLY what that feels like. I have had childhood friends die, children who I was a teacher of who passed away, teacher who were close to me when I was a student who passed away, I have no grandparents left, and I have been through so much other loss and suffering. And as much pain as all that was for me, NOTHING has broken my heart nearly as much, as when I had to get on a plane leaving Los Angeles back to the east coast because we couldn’t be together yet, because of all the crap going on, even though I wanted so badly for you to ask me to stay and live with you and not go back to my family. Ryan… I miss you so much, knowing your heart is beating somewhere miles away from me and not in my arms right now, is the worst torture my heart has ever been through. I want to come home 😭
I was absolutely in love with the storytelling shown through this edit, the ending gave me a bad feeling. Of course I read the spoilers in the comments and now I'm utterly devastated TT
Sometimes producers make an alternate ending to there movies/shows, it be most enjoyable if they made one for (SAM & ELSA) that she lived and made her trek back to Sam.
This show was seriously one of the most wonderful depictions of the journey West showcasing the unbelievable symmetry between Indians and their land. I named my daughter Cheyenne. I love the Indian culture. I would’ve loved to have been the wife of a warrior and therefore, a warrior as well.
Elsa kissing Sam in a tornado is unrealistic. Along with her keeping her hair down, it'd get tangled and knotted. People used to keep their hair up in the 1800s even Sam would too unless he had no trusted person to do the back of his hair. She would wear a shirt so she didn't get burnt.

You should be proud. Its a beautiful heritage. If only things had gone differently 😭
My grandpa on my mom's side was Cherokee and my grandma was white. He was buried on what would have been their 50th Wedding Anniversary. My grandma never remarried. She passed in 03 at 86. True love knows no race and time. I love Sam and Elsa story.
It's so beautiful the way they look at each other. It has everything. I squeezed them. It's a shame it didn't work out. 😢💔

Series* though, not a movie..
En français SVP
You clearly don’t understand Greek tragedy or the underlying agenda this movie has
❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢

I cried when they parted ways😔
I cried when she died in the end😔
It's their love that remains true❤❤and unbroken♥️♥️
I love this series♥️
Absolutely amazing to watch and so heartfelt.
A must see again♥️
Me too.
Sam is really good looking. Elsa is very pretty.
I would LOVE to experience the emotions of seeing this show for the first time again!❤
Not me. I'm still emotionally damaged from this series 😭
I have yet to watch it... I was scared of being disappointed like how I was with Yellowstone when it went too political and the damn Beth sh*t that kept happening. I would have loved Yellowstone if Beth was never in it. Just give me more love, ranch and horses stories.
This was awesome, to show such chemistry between SAM and ELSA....cant wait for part 2. ..
I am Native American and Irish and I just love this

same! choctaw and irish for me :)
I am a Puerto Rican Hispanic of a Taino descendent and also African and European. The blood I carry in me is history, and still I’m proud of it and proud of my culture and traditions too.
I liked the strong Puerto Rican culture, which survived over a hundred years of another strong cultural influence. But you guys have a dangerous habit of riding dark horses without any lights or reflectors on narrow, winding roads in complete darkness on weekends. We nearly pissed off our pants driving a car.
Not the same!!!
I cannot blame her at all. Sam is amazing. I'd do the same 🤣

I had to cry with her at thr end. Excellent actress 👏
Absolutely love this. My grandmother was of Cherokee descent my grandfather Irish German. She used to tell stories of the family coming across the plains in covered wagons.
I could barely wait for the week to pass for the next episode to be here. Never waited with bated breath for tears to fall before 😢 I think many of us see ourselves in her …..oh the wild, reckless, passionate days of our youth! As long as we can feel and remember in our hearts, those days will never be lost to us❤️
Wow she said she don’t needs God’s permission because Sam saved her life and her daddy’s life She knew God sent him! WOW that’s awesome and that’s pure love! And I love it!! 🥰
He also plays Chip in Wind River. I love that Taylor Sheridan retains most of the actos in his shows/movies.
HE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL… I LOVED him in this show… am soooooo saddened by his passing…RIP Cole You are gone way too soon…💔
@apachespook71
The actor playing Sam is Martin Sensmeier.

My baby daddy is native and he’s never been so amazing as Sam. As a native chick it’s so nice to see a native man being this assertive and caring. He loved her.
Can you just say your child’s father? Baby daddy sounds like a guest on the Jerry Springer Show, or that godawful Teen mom show on MTV.

real cowboy shit..
Ennis: the high school crush
Sam: the man who has his shit together
He's cute too.
lol facts
Bless Ennis’ sweet cowboy heart
Ennis was such a sweety pie and how he treated Elsa altogether
I wish we would've got an ending closure with sam, apparently he nvr finds out about elsa and nvr seen again. Breaks my heart
This was so awesome, I wish we could have more great stories on television 📺 😊. This America has some great writers. These stories are our history.
I was so disappointed how 1923 ended!!! So open ended. I still have to watch Yellowstone but 1883 was amazing!
Yellowstone In November! And 1923 in the summer of 2025
1883 is a love story that takes place in very harsh times in a brutal environment. I loved it very much.
Many years ago someone asked me where my home was - I pointed across the room towards my husband and said 'There - in the space between my husband's arms'.
He was my everything - Best friend, teacher, mirror to my soul, light in my heart - and I was his
When he passed away my heart was shattered - It hurt to breath
But those decades we shared together were worth every moment of grief
Some loves last a lifetime - Others through eternity - This mortal world is limited but the heavens are endless and eternal
Elsa is a very serious young woman ❤ Love has got everything to do with it 🎉
Better love story than Twilight
not a high bar to pass tbh
I beg to differ but love both anyways. ❤❤

I thought Florence Pugh & Jennifer Lawrence also!
Die großartigste Liebesgeschichte, die nie wirklich erzählt wurde.
Es sind immer die Sachen, die nicht passiert sind, die uns nachhaltig triggern und beschäftigen.
they're one of the most beautiful couples omg
Love the name he gave her “lightening with the yellow hair”
Yes a beautiful couple great match for this movie .. so unbelievably real
I was so mad they didn't keep her alive and them together.
Me too they were perfect for each other
who killed her?what happens?
@@dawnhenderson9461lmao. But it's not reality. 🤦 He had no business entertaining her. You know how many native men actually raped white women. There weren't these epic love stories they want to feed you.

Me too. It would have been a better story if they had settled on some land, and had kids, and raised horses for the army.
I am always fascinated by Native American History,,,i am sorry to hear that many tribes have died out😮we can learn from their way of life❤
“Died out” is a really interesting way to say “were genocided”

This was such a great series. They did Elsa dirty with the way she died. And then not knowing if Sam died and they met in heaven.
One of the saddest parts about their story, SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING TO YELLOWSTONE: 1883 ENDING:
*********************************************************************************************************************************
One of the saddest parts is that as far as we know and/or saw from the show he never found out what happened to Elsa. I just imagine him coming back to the spot where they promised they would reunite and waiting for her, what it must've been like to realize she wasn't coming and possibly never learning why she didn't come back.
Oui, j'ai aimé leur couple... Quelle alchimie. Beau western quel plaisir de regarder avec beaucoup d'émotion
I love them ❤ is sad Elsa’s ending 😢😢😢 Sam is handsome ❤ love the show ❤❤❤
I love the series told the story from Elsa's point of view! I was disappointed in 1923's last episode, I really hope the next series in the Duttons timeline will jump in right where 1923 was left off!
dang they are both beautiful people 😍😍😍 i was gonna say she's gorgeous but he is SO handsome too, just super good looking people.
IDK why this was reccommended to me, but thanks? LOL!
Nice.

I was playing sims 3 while watching 7th ep, (lightning yellow hair) and i had a foal in the game and the game suggested 'lightning' as her name...🥲
I’ve never watched this show.
But that blonde girl is a special kind of beautiful.

Lmao. She looks nothing special at all. I guess if you're in your 20s you're not used to regular faces.
@@narlywaves2371 Which country you live? No girls look like her.
@@narlywaves2371 She's objectively gorgeous. You probably look like mouldy bread.
IMHO!
Sad reality of life back then 😢
came from the African continent.

Wow, these scenes are so powerful. I love this series. One could say Elsa reincarnated as Beth and Sam as Rip.
I grew to.love Elsa
Not like a man, but the way a father loves his daughter. She was so spirited. I mourned her death.
I love this part of the Yellowstone story. We must understand our history as it was the Truths of it all, to be able to stay united & strong as a country.
Well done Taylor Sheridan, beautifully scripted and so aptly suited to Isabel and Martin.
Love this series beautiful story. I need to watch it all again..
I was absolutely in love with the storytelling shown through this edit, the ending gave me a bad feeling. Of course I read the spoilers in the comments and now I'm utterly devastated TT
That last scene is so beautiful
I haven't cried this much during a western since i watched into the west in 2005
Elsa's biggest mistake ever leaving her warrior husband's side. Not a safe move at all. I really like native american people 👍
One of my favorite series! I watch it over & over, everytime I do, I obtain something awesome I missed previously! Fantastically put together! 🤯
What a beautiful movie and love has no boundaries ❤❤
I've watched this series 2 times now, and I'm crying from episode 3 to 10!❤
Sometimes producers make an alternate ending to there movies/shows, it be most enjoyable if they made one for (SAM & ELSA) that she lived and made her trek back to Sam.
This show was seriously one of the most wonderful depictions of the journey West showcasing the unbelievable symmetry between Indians and their land. I named my daughter Cheyenne. I love the Indian culture. I would’ve loved to have been the wife of a warrior and therefore, a warrior as well.
I'm so sorry, but when he says "lighting with the yellow hair" and I can hear is "Becky with the good hair". Help. 😭
