I imagine Adam Jones in a dark room holding his guitar waiting 13 years to let this out.
Lol that is so accurate! And then all hell breaks loose! xD
Actually....he's been working and waiting to release this for 21 years.
**THE WARRIOR EMERGES**
@@paulsallee4889 I read this too ❤

7empest is one of the best tool songs ever
Absolutely
AEnima style bass
@@TheZacharyMartinShow As a bass player, it doesn't feel like AEnima at all. That would be either left hand only hammer-on riffs or a lot of alt picking on the same note. This is more like the Patient because one riff goes on for a really long time, or something from Undertow because of the weird ass time signatures (21/8. I don't remember seeing anything that ridiculous anywhere except Undertow. But hey, at least it's in even 8th notes)
Adam Jones broke my brain
A to the fuckin Men!
As 7empest goes on you can hear Tool's evolution in their sound as the song goes on, from Undertow to 10,000 Days.
exactly
From opiate! It’s very reminiscent of opiate. Especially in angst.
That's what sold me on the album being a masterpiece. Not many bands can effectively explore all eras of their sound and lay it out into one song, one album etc.
@Jaik Anatar Also not many bands can perform their songs live basically dead on to the albums right after releasing them, let alone 20-30 yrs later and in their 50s. Tool perform BETTER THAN EVER. Even performing the oldest songs, aside from Maynard which is understandable because people's voices change naturally. I liked the aggressive young Maynard's intensity back then but his voice has truly aged well, especially considering how hard he used to scream on songs like J.O. every night on tour for years.
That's what I was thinking is almost an epilogue for their entire career. The beginning is very old Undertow Tool then they get into Lateralus, 10,000 days and Fear Inoculum. I think it was intentional.
How many Adam's are in this riff.
Guitar Jones: Yes.
Lmfao wut xD xD I chuckled xD
@@shreyaspai3791 how many Adam's did it take to make this guitar riff
Hurricane Dorian: "I'm the biggest storm of 2019."
Adam Jones: "Hold my beer..."
They should have just called 7empest "4dam Jones" and been done with it. Because my dear god.
dude you aren't lying. Holy shit. I think he broke my brain.
7empest does for Adam Jones what Rosetta Stoned did for Danny Carey. What a display of talent.
that's hilarious man
7empest is so unbelievably epic. Adam Jones was probably like, yeah we're gonna show you why it took us 13 years to release an album. My fave song on Fear is Descending. It's the crown jewel. However 7empest is the 2nd crown jewel. Phenomenal solo from Adam Jones. My god its beautiful.
without doubt, 7empst is AJ closing song. i am keeping it safe, gonna save it for 10- years time....if i'm still alive ....lol
we all need something to look forward to right
7empest is the shining gem in crown that is Fear Inoculum. That song alone has plenty of riffs and ideas for other bands to make a whole album
nicely said
This album is EPIC
7empest is, bar none, one of the very best pieces Tool has ever done. It's a musical summary of their entire career.
HERE WE GO AGAIN 🤘🏼😁🤘🏼
Actually its "FUCK...Here we go Again" . . . . my favorite part of the whole album…. the build up, then the Riff they dive into
@@mike1158d Im with you. I LOVE the beginning of 7empest. It gets me all kinds of hyped up.
They let Adam loose on that one
This song... is a masterpiece.
Yeah Mockingbeat is such a great song right?
7rempest is my personal favorite on this album, but I think Descending & Invincible are probably the best ones... They managed to hide something brand new within the old and familiar on those two track. 7empest has that brooding stomp we all know and love...
Especially evoking Flood from Undertow with the initial riffs. I'm now wishing they dispensed with CCT drum solo and added an extra five minutes to this barnstorming closer. In fact, ditch all the elevator ditties and make 7empest 25 minutes long! ( at least ).
Truly the shortest fifteen minute track in the history of musical performance!!!
Descending is the crown jewel hands down.
They better have extra paramedics on standby for when they play this live. It will end people
Brad O cannot wait until they come down under. Everything will stop for a week or so
Yep can’t wait. Hopefully they pick a better venue than the last time I saw them in Melbourne. The myer music bowl was a terrible venue for them
Brad O I’m hoping to pop my cherry on a live show. Hopefully they’ll play Marvel or the G. Seen Foo Fighters last year at Marvel and it was great. They’d sell out 10 concerts in each city when they come here.
@@jeremymcbride8729 So what'd you think?
OMG, Adam Jones blew up every appliance in my house. The whole cd is a masterpiece but 7empest is a guitar perfection possible only in Tool's riffs. It literally took my breath away, what can you possibly say about this song. I am spellbound. Love live the GOAT.
11:00 Best solo of his career... and that tone is fucking filthy
I'm so glad we have some more Tool to listen to, as if what we had for the last 13 years wasn't enough. Mind blowing. In nearly 20 years of listening to Tool I have never been bored of it. Only a few bands stand the test of time. Tool are undoubtedly one of those bands.
Tool then meshuggah. Meshuggah scratches an itch I got like no other.
I’m pretty sure that 7empest was the song The Wyld Stallyns were supposed to write in order to save the world. They should just cancel the new Bill and Ted movie now.
haha no joke! It took 28 years of musical progression - and Tool - to live up to that impossible task. It's also quite funny that the band released Opiate in the same year.
Or maybe the song Tenacious D needed to play to beat Satan. No doubt Adam found the Pick of Destiny somewhere around 1992.
Listening to Tool in a pool. Pretty cool.
lool steven
Ha, I was in the pool blaring this album for my neighbors today
I hope you were you wearing wool, you fool.

ok 7empest is my fav song so far, haven't heard mockingbeat just yet.
very instrumental album- it's magnificent at that. Not as much vocally, although the vocals are very deliberate and i'm just beginning to feel the album's delivery methods. so far so good.
Mockingbeat will melt your brain and make you not want to listen to any other music
Jim: how many riffs?
Adam: yes
Jhon: greng
ya 7empest just shows us how damn far Tool have come and evolved and just how good they can be
Some of the riffs in 7empest were created before Justin even joined the band. I think that's so cool.
4:59 90s Tool ! :D
He starts riding the spiral at 7:41.
Connor Phebus lol 😂
Swallowed red, enough said.
I like how they add that Mockingbeat thing after 7empest. Nothing would match 7empest.
Calm as Cookies and Cream
Don't you dare point that at me.
Jim your facial expressions are amazing. I think we would be friends. All the emotions from awe, defeat, ecstasy, wonderment...thank you for authentically sharing that with us (me). I am very happy I happened across your path. Beautiful and loverly you are. M
This is a Tool medley encompassing all evolutions of Tool.
The intro to 7empest kinda reminds me of frame by frame by King Crimson
7empest: Epic. I mean...I don't have words. Adam Jones, FTW.
Maynard is straight rapping at the start!
Just to think he said no to Rage Against the Machine..
RATM > Tool
@@spriestplayer2329 You can't be serious. I like RATM and all, but most of their songs are tonally identical.

"Keep calm, keep calm, keep it calm, fuck here we go again" Maynard speaks for every tool fan with those words, I love it
Jim , I've just purchased a ticket for Tool, Manchester,2nd May.22.
Half an hour on the metro.
Very happy.
Lucky you! My finances won't stretch.... and I already have some BIG gigs next year.
@@JimNewstead cheers Jim.
Keep up the good work. Love your videos. Especially the Tool ones.
To borrow a phrase from one of your videos.
" Danny Carey....good god man".. exactly.🤘👍
So much Undertow in 7empest. But every album is rolled into this one song though. Love it.
Justin Chancellor's bass run through the middle of this track is like a freight train pulling a heavy load up a steep grade. Relentless. Simply relentless.
Was super cool listening this album with you Jim Newstead! I love this album so much! Best Tool album in my opinion
Justin's bass line.🤫 groovy as F#$k
Welp. Tool's out-Tooled themselves with this album....Music will never be the same.
Greatest song ever created imo
Greatest album ever created as well
Tempest means violent storm. That's exactly what it is
Adam Jones is a beast. Absolutely stepped out of his shell fir this album.
This is an absolute masterpiece. The LP as a whole seems like a discography to show how they have evolved. Ending in 7empest shows the full evolution and put any other would be rock bands on notice that the Kings are back and better than ever!
This is Adam's FU to all of the critics who say he can't shred.
I feel it's better than that. He shreds here and there but the genius is the multiplicity in riffs that evolve every time they are played - it's such a transcendent buildup, no one can deny it even if they want to claim simplicity
Justin and Danny hold this piece on the ground and let Adam soar. Wow!
My reaction was similar. Speachless. Shivery. I'm a TOOL fan since the good old days (between 1991 and 1994 there were so much rock-grunge-hardrock albums of high quality coming out (God Machine for example without ginving any names). In all the cars i had with cd player, i had always the collection of TOOL with me. Impossible to say how much time i spent listening to their music. And with Fear Inoculum, it's the same. Impossible to say how often i listened to it the last 2 weeks. It's phenomenal. I'm surprised (and happy (or not)) it's so high in the charts. Just thinking : "maybe 13, 15 or 20 years back, the world didn't really need TOOL. Now it does.". Just so happy they are back and delivering.
Man, The God Machine were so great! A real shame what happened to the band. I used to play Desert Song on loop for 10, 20 times in a row.
Glad to have shared my - what? - 6th listen of this album with you :) What an experience, each time!
@1:55 “Fuck, here we go again!” 🤘🏻🤘🏻 🤘🏻 🤘🏻
UGHH finally...yes...I'm so ready for this! Also, is it just me or is Mockingbeat at least a little...Sphongle-esque? I love it...I love the whole gorram album. UGH an instant hit, a true Masterpiece. Thanks for letting us come along with you on your maiden voyage through Fear Inoculum, always a pleasure sir!
Okay so I'm letting these sounds digest more and more and this song is actually incredible. It felt orgasmic in places and made me cry in others.
It's a spiritual journey of humanity and the universe.. you understand tool
Thanks for the upload 👍 nice to see people smiling to music
Tool comes with a lifetime warranty.
For real. And a claim will never be made and a claim made will never be upheld.
They did the impossible. They have a lifetime warranty and 100% chance of 100% satisfaction.
All enquiries to Harry Manback, Down at the docks.........
I need my ass kicked
Hit the dislike button on accident
But love what you said
Tool comes with a lifetime warranty
I’m gonna make me a bumper sticker like that lol
But seriously hope y’all forgive over the dislike button
What a douche
7empest to me is on Thrid Eye level....
And slightly more satisfying. Unlike some Tool tracks, this has enough in it to play on near permanent loop. In fact the only problem for me with it is that it doesn't go long enough!! Could have dispensed with CCT and added an extra four minutes of stonking guitar riffs to this prime mover beauty, ..ahh bloody hell!!
Yes , but nothing and I mean nothing tops Disposition Reflection Triad
Almost every time I listen to this song I listen to it with Jim. I even remember your eyebrow movements lol. Thanks Mallard.
"Adam Jones, you saucy bugger"
Digging the album but wish there was just a little more of this. But I'm in my 40's so meditation metal is dope.
Thanks. I've heard of Om and will check them all out. I appreciate it.
They could release a 100-hour-long album and it still wouldn't be enough. Tool is the hardest drug.
This has been and still is one of my favorite rock and roll/(any genre) album in a long time. This has tapped into a part of my brain that won't let me escape. Every time I listen I hear/ feel something new. It's fantastic
Opiate - was the maddening, Undertow the experience, Aenima the acceptance, Lateralus the transformation, 10,000 days the perspective, Fear Inoculum the spiralling both in and out, What's fkn Next? - I hope I'm alive to witness and enjoy such art work again and again.
I had to listen to this album in stages. Still haven't sat down to listen to the entire album straight through. It gave me me so many emotions. It is a journey as all TOOL albums. This is on a visceral level. A full return from Opiate to 10,000 Days.
Lol...🤯🤯🤯 IKR. I dunno how riffs Jim - my mind is so tired I can’t count.
As much i love the this song and the album....the last 5 minutes or so of 7empest is incredible to me and my personal favorite part...What a way to end the album.
But it doesn't end the album. Just as Flood, or Triad or Right In Two didn't either. It's not over till it's over.
It ends it for me who wants to be mocked for getting digital
strugen they aren’t mocking for getting digital, can only fit 80 minutes on a CD so they left some stuff off, but I’m pretty sure they are mocking some of us with this track. Gotta love their sense of humor.
CYBER DEMON I do love their sense of humor but that's what I meant about the digital release. They pretty much just put troll tracks on it
@@andrewlockett4569 lol okay
Music will never be the same...AGAIN..!!!
Amazing album , best album of 2019
The more I listen, the more 7empest become my favourite
7empest is so goddam beautiful.
For the past 15 years, whichever Tool song I had listened to most recently was my favorite song ever. After a dozenish listens to this album, either Invincible or 7empest is, but I dunno how to pick.
I know the feeling
This song is similar to Achilles' Last Stand in the sense that they are both cyclic. End how they began
I tap my fingers like you when I listen to music.
12:56 "Adam Jones, you saucy b..." Ad starts playing.
"...ugger."
lol!
Hahahahaha
Thank you for being my spirit guide
This may be the best ending to any TOOL song I've ever heard. Gets better every time.
"-Guys, I want to play some guitar part for the new album". Adam Jones
So much awesome jammed into one single package.
I'm starting to think that this might become the Tool album to end all Tool albums. Thank you for your reactions!
All these lucky bastards out there doing TOOL reaction videos that didn’t have to wait 13 years for this. Imagine the pleasure we’re feeling after the wait. Can’t wait to see them live again. It’ll be the 7th time and it’s always an experience
That calm that comes after the tempest has blown over kills me everytime. You actually do need to stay hydrated during this masterpiece
HERE WE GO AGAIN
I was a shuddering, grinning emotional wreck during the outro to this song (7empest) during my first album listen. I was waiting for them to really break out for the whole album, really appreciating all the other tracks but waiting for them to really dock the mothership... then this heady mix of guitar pyrotechnics and emotion was just a... Perfect crescendo. Don't think I can quite put it next to my great Tool songs of the past (H. is at the forefront of my mind today at least) because I don't think Maynard's writing quite rises to the occasion of the rest of the instrumentation, but it deserves a place next to any of them. Anthony Fantano should do himself a favour and go on holiday with this album for a week then issue a retraction.
you started searching for something on your computer in the worst time in the history of music, the beautiful climax of 7empest
Was waiting for this!!
Still can't stop listening to this beautiful album
Adam: How many riffs should I put in there
Maynard: Yes
......... nuff said. Truly amazing
I bet mockingbeat represents the way they percieved their nagging fans. So know they're mocking us with the sounds of mocking birds. Haha
I can picture the band laughing their arses off watching us listening intently to mockingbirds expecting something different any second 😂
Troll level: Master
@@Itstwofourteen was that directed at me ! They're only having a bit of fun at our expense that's what mockingbeat represents and i love it
I think it's more supposed to be reminiscent of the calm after the storm (7empest), but I believe in double entendres lol
They've always done this kind of experimental stuff. Remember the last 9 minutes of Disgustipated with the crickets or whatever that was?
What a way to end an album. I can tell by your face I'm not alone, because your expressions feel similar to mine. You look happy at Tool instrumentation, and even though Maynard doesn't scream you just look sad but resolute in truth. That's what they're about.
The Best Song of The
Album
Maynard used to have a bird collection from his time at the pet store. Would adopt birds people would bring back. His room was half aviary before he moved to LA and have his birds away.
Also check out Circa Survive. Toolesque in approach but post-hardcore/experimental in sound. Schema, Lustrations, Only the Sun, Glass Arrows to start (so many more)
11:30 best reaction to the madness of Adam Jones i've ever seen, absolutely priceless!
nvm, i was in the middle of watching this and just noticed the reaction at 15:00. "Seriously stonkingly good guitar"
This album is so long I think i noticed you visibly age a little
Donovan S not an extremely long album just long songs.
@@2013_Shox Actually it *is* their longest album.
@@2013_Shox that's because it wouldn't matter if a Tool album was 3 hours long, we'd all be like 'it's already over' and wish it was longer.

I can’t get over how “Undertow” this song is
I've this album on high-res audio, a 12 minutes song is say over 500 megabytes in size, sounds monstrous
Where did you source this high-res? I have the cd, mp3, and stream- but I haven’t seen high-res anywhere?

The drumming on that song is so complicated it is unbelievable now I know it's a studio but still I can't wait to see that done live see if he keeps up with it. Studio wise it reminds me of stuff Emerson Lake and Palmer used to do. Or King Crimson.
Masterpiece!
Shit the bed...shit my pants. What a collection of riffs.
